First!
For the second time today.
TGIF!
Mornin’ Gang -
While sitting on the balcony over the pool when we were in Port Aransas I saw a lady sunning and reading a book much like the one in the pic, except that was just one of her legs.
-
Regarding the O/C pic, I can only offer this.

Good Friday morning Hamsters. Foggy out here on the moors of the Brazos and a pleasant 75, and the ever-gorgeous Moon is plainly seen above it all on her way to bed.
Unfortunately the prospect for rainy days has been stretched out to cover the weekend and perhaps beyond. It can stop any time now. -
George Soros et al are enemies of the State.
-
A second House Republican who has endorsed Trump said: โThis doesn’t sound to me like someone interested in running a rational, positive message, let alone winning. Breitbart isn’t a legitimate news organization. It’s a disgraceful propaganda machine that is trying to divide the party.
โI think Trump wants to lose but have media control over 25 percent of the party so he can make money off of them.โ -

There is ample ammo to be concerned with Trump. That he makes a move that pi$$es off the elites is not one of them. -
Sorry mods, I tried to edit.

Hillary and her upper echelon at the State Dept failed to take the REQUIRED ETHICS TRAINING.
from the comments:Oh, this is so righteous…
“Barack Obama issued an Executive Order in 2009 requiring all employees with โoriginalโ or โderivativeโ classification capability to take mandatory training.
The requirement became federal law in 2010. The State Department subsequently created a course, โClassified and Sensitive but Unclassified Information: Making and Marking,โ to satisfy that requirement. Those employees with โoriginal classification authorityโ who fail to take the course each year are supposed to have their classification authority suspended.
State Department employees also are routinely denied access to classified and unclassified networks and systems for failure to complete this required training, according to Judicial Watchโs investigation. This stands to reason, does it not? To have untrained officials accessing this sensitive material would be a menace to national security and could play into the hands of the Chinese, the Russians, the Iranians, and others who endanger American interests.
No wonder the Obama gang running the State Department ignored two separate FOIA requests for information on the required classification training by Clinton, Mills, Abedin, and other covered State Department officials.”
http://www.judicialwatch.org/p…
This begs so many questions, the FOIA request for this information goes back to a year ago, August 2015. Who at the SD knew and didn’t say anything about Hillaroid and her goonies failure to comply ?
What about John Kerry ? As SOS he’s the current head of the State Department, he must have known about all of this and is he in compliance with the mandate ? If not why not !
Since this is now federal law thanks to an EO from Oblamer, isn’t the DOJ responsible if people from the administration are in violation of federal mandates? Lynch must have also known about all of this !
I’m told every cloud has a silver lining, maybe it’s a good thing Oblamer made some room down at Guantanamo, they’re going to need it…Does anyone actually believe that anyone in the Trump admin (G-D willing) will fail to take this training?
I am much more concerned about Cankles past behavior and almost certainty of it continuing than I am about some inconvenient speech by Trump. Failure to keep Cankles out of the White House is the equivalent of putting a shotgun in your mouth and pulling the trigger – certain doom is the only result. -
GJT hunting down them one-legged beach bunnies.

Naw, she had both legs. Just each one was the size of her two.

Apparently Dave Ward is being forced out.

RE: OC picture
Proving beauty is fleeting and only skin deep here is an update to the picture above.

Brietbart is already flogging Rick Perry to replace Ted Cruz in 2018.
Thanks Trumpsters for all your help in dismantling the GOPe— -

Those brilliant suits at Disney.
I wouldn’t give them a dollar of my money. They were one of those that were having their employees train their HB1 replacements and then pink-slipping them. -

Sometimes skin deep is deep enough. -
Senator Cruzโ re-election campaign staff dismissed the poll as premature. โPolls more than two years away from an election are of no significant consequence and serve little more than to generate headlines to fill a news cycle,โ
-

Sigh, but of course the poll was conducted by a lefty organization, and the report was in the lefty Texas Tribune so of course conservatives should immediately run for the Maalox when Breitbart, now a limb of the Trump campaign, trumpets this. Did PPP even ask Rick Perry if he had any such aspiration before taking the poll? What rubbish.
But, garbage in, garbage out, when you consult garbage. -

Thomas Sowell. I like what the guy writes, it makes a whole lot more sense than other stuff that I read.
-
Okay, this is sad because it’s so funny because it’s so true:
A reporter recently asked President Obama how he felt about Roe v. Wade to which the President replied “row versus wade? heck I don’t care how the folks in Louisiana escape the flood just as long as they get out.” -
The GOPe is sending up all kinds of trial balloons of potential Cruz opponents, including Mike McCaul.
I don’t think many of them are stupid enough to spend all of those millions if Cruz is polling well.
We’ll see. -
But they may be willing and able to bring in a couple of hundred million from the outside to take out Cruz.

#11, Shannon; Who knew Dave Ward was still alive, let alone on TV?!?!
-
I remembered to go back and read Hammies’ link from yesterday:
Please Help: We Can’t Tell If This Hilarious ‘Sausage Party’ Apology Is Satire Or Not
Freaking hilarious.

Added bonus, our own Hamous has some fun with the freaks in the comments. -
#23,11 – Who knew that Channel 13 was still on the air.
-
I used to respect ABC13 because they did have a cast that has been there for years. Looks like they are following KHOU for rotating talking heads.
I like Dave Ward. He is the only reason I ever watched evening news. -
Years ago, I would stop into Kay’s Lounge on Bissonet and hang out with the local media types and have a cold beer. They said Dave Ward could out drink everyone in the place. Anybody remember when Dave fell backwards and cracked his head open on a concrete parking stop in the parking lot of the Confederate House ?

Dumping Dave Ward is akin to when KTRH AM 740 dumped J.P. Pritchard from their news team. He pretty quickly got signed up with KNTH AM 1070, where he does the news for the morning show with Sam Malone, with no obvious impairment due to age or decrepitude. I don’t know what other time slots J.P. does their news for, since I don’t listen to the radio all day long. I have also heard a weekend “public affairs” show that J.P. does that holds my interest when I catch it. -
Late to the comments from yesterday.
Shannon – you can have those Brahma cows. I know they can be great protectors
of their calves, etc. – but they can be some crazy azzed cows too. Go from a standing position in the chute to jumping on the catwalk and chasing you off. -

Ward has been sober for over 10 years now. I saw the pretty passionate apology he made when he returned from recovery. -
I went to the doc about a week ago, expecting to discuss surgery. I’m trying not to get excited, but I just finished walking around – CAREFULLY! – without pain for a few minutes. Note that I didn’t say “bending over” or “picking up stuff”. This was walking only, with really good posture. It’s amazing what a tall, straight back does for the lumbar region!
I’ve been increasing the frequency and longevity of my “hang times”. I had been hanging before, but not very often and not very long. It was finally time to get serious. I was getting discouraged yesterday, but today gives me hope.
I’ve skipped all workouts this week, trying to rest my back. Just sitting down has required me to have additional lower back support and a careful mental approach to getting up and down from any position. Ice and heat, pain management, and muscle relaxants are finally paying off.
I’ll keep the jumping up and down for later, if you don’t mind.
/hoping I haven’t jinxed my recovery -
I dashed out at 11:30 to run some errands and got caught in a monster thunderstorm as I was driving home. Man, that was a throw-back to the olden times when I had to drive, whether I wanted to or not. I once spent 2 hrs on the West Loop in a heavy rain with traffic at a standstill. First time I became aware that overpasses sorta sway in a strong wind, but you can only feel that motion if your car is not moving.

That was something I admired about them as well. I didn’t mind seeing wrinkles as long as I felt the anchor/reporter was good at their job, and that the job was something more than a pretty place holder.

As I discovered years ago with some people it does not matter that a person has recovered from alcoholism they choose to remember the bad old days. I am sure Ward has developed the same thick “I do not care what people think” skin that I had to develop. -
Tedtam
I really did admire ABC13 as a company at one time. They carried guys along like Ed Brandon who was not a meteorologist, just a weather presenter, till he decided to retire. While i did not trust the political slants, I did develop a bit of trust with ABC13 because of the longevity of much of the staff. I suppose disney has a list of metrosexuals and bimbos they want to put in their place. -

Has Mr Ziffel’s name come up yet?
-
Aw heck no.
Mr Haney. -
I think Lisa was doing Hank Kimble.
-
Didn’t KTRK hire Ed Brandon back after the cocaine thing?
Or was that Dan Patrick? -
Shannon
I think Lisa was doing Hank Kimble.
Oh she was, she was. And here is a picture of their love child.
-
Yup KTRK hired Brandon back after the cocaine thing after he went through treatment and all allegations of child porn/abuse were dropped.
-
Ed Brandon was/is one of the “happy” people. Wimminzes twernt his thang.

#30 TexPat, I remember that and about six months later he was arrested for DUI.

Is Bob Shrum secretly managing Trump’s campaign? I’m not sure how it could get any more inept.

I tried to tell my wife about the #25 story but I lost her at ‘Sausage Party’. It’ll just have to be our little joke I guess.

I recall that several years ago there had been a discussion about the Harmony Charter schools making the news rounds owing to unfavorable publicity. One of our fellow Hamsters had a child or children enrolled in a Harmony charter school and refuted the adverse publicity citing personal experience with quality education.
The schools again appear coincidentally coming under criticism since Mr. Gulen who founded them and lives in Pennsylvania is being accused of having a hand in the failed coup attempt in Turkey, and the Turkish government is seeking his extradition. However, the expository film in question, Harmony Schools in Texas, was made well before the attempted Turkish coup.
The education issue has flared up again in the form of the film Harmony Schools in Texas being promoted currently. I received email notice today from a conservative group seeking assistance in publicizing the film booked to be shown in Houston on 8-30-16 to encourage ticket sales for it. The ticket sales up until now have been lagging.
Chris Salcedo on KSEV last week I believe interviewed the film’s producer about this topic and the film. It was not complimentary to Harmony Charter schools not so much about the education as about Mr. Gulen’s control and influence somehow intertwined with Turkish politics. The interview struck me as quite the opposite of our Hamster’s viewpoint from personal experience with the school’s educational programs.
The email today accused the Texas media of ignoring the film and refusing to review it. The producer views it as exposing previously unknown connections
and alleged highjacking of the Texas charter school system.
The information available strikes me as not approaching the level of reporting that Pamela Geller routinely provides on Middle East political and cultural matters relating to America.
Addendum: the title of the film is Killing Ed, as in killing education I presume. -
Karla wrote some of Linda’s better hits.

Archives? Julie London plays Misty for me.

50s? Just how Dusty should this go.

Another one of Linda’s hits – this one by Zevon
-
Tracking down Karla’s songs, had know idea how much Zevon Linda covered. I only remember two Zevon songs on the airwaves. He sure has a lot of stuff I missed.

Where did this week go? Aside from a bit of shopping, I can’t point to anything I got done.
