The only plausible explanation for the presence of these lyrics is that someone who participated in the drafting of Melania Trump’s speech intentionally included the Rick Astley lyric, apparently as a signal the speech had been “hacked.

That makes perfect sense. Delicious prank unless, as the article suggests, there is something more devious to it than that.

This convention is so weird.
I think they started having music between speakers back in the 1800’s.
Sarge would remember.

Actually, the first was at the 1916 Convention.
Ah, yes—-
I remember it well——-

The pic above was taken at the Kissimmee Zoo when I was a yoot. It was a small zoo on the shores of Lake Tohopekaliga. I only remember the baboon, a bear, a lion (that you could hear roar from our house), and an eagle. Not sure when they closed it down. Not sure when the baboon died. But Kissimmee… Read more »

El Gordo I have not lost hope. On the contrary my hope is placed elsewhere. Not to get to deep into it here, years ago many years ago I began to see a convergence of world events around Israel. So I began to study the prophesies. I will not put God in a box, but what the prophets revealed 2500-3000… Read more »

Well, well, well…this is very interesting from the very smart guy at Chicago Boyz, Lexington Green: Nevertheless, it is barely possible that Melania Trump knowingly repeated those words from Michelle Obama’s speech, thinking no one would notice, even though tweaking a few words would have removed any hint of plagiarism. Perhaps Melania Trump is lazy, dishonest, and very stupid, and… Read more »

Trump just might could fool us all. Or then again it is quite possible that the United States of the U.S.A. may not be here. I am just not seeing how the damage that has been inflicted on this country can be reversed. The lines have been drawn and the factions have declared their ground. Mark 3:25 And if a… Read more »

Charles Krauthammer opined that Ted will be aiming to do as Reagan did in 1976 and set the stage for 2020 as Reagan did for 1980. In that case Ted is quite capable of delivering a stemwinder of a speech without notes. IMHO that is what he ought to do, an oration like Winston Churchill.

Absolutely. Without question.

Correction, Ted is speaking tomorrow night. Rep. Louie Gohmert was revealed on Fox’s 5 pm segment at the convention as the instigator of Donald inviting Ted to speak. Then the pundits wondered if the text of Ted’s speech would be vetted by the party as apparently is customary once the nominee has been selected. Problem there is Ted speaks very… Read more »

I laugh my arse off. The GOPe is a symptom of what the electorate has time and again re-elected. Ultimately who is to blame for Trump if there is blame to be doled out is US the electorate. Wonderful thing about this country WAS that the people, by virtue of our Constitution, chose who ruled over them. We hired em… Read more »

Fox News and Drudge did not put Trump where he is; the electorate did that. While I would have preferred Cruz, I cannot think of another of those weasels standing around on that stage at the beginning I would be satisfied with. Obama and Hillary, along with the liberal bureaucracy and the liberal eReps begat Trump. While it is to… Read more »

At a wedding ceremony, the pastor asked if anyone had anything to say concerning the union of the bride and groom. It was their time to stand up and talk, or forever hold their peace. From SD #35. “Matt’s agenda-setting power on the right was on full display in this election cycle. The iron triangle of Drudge, Fox, and talk radio spent a year in pro-Trump lockstep, eliding over stories critical of Trump, and providing him with an ideological hall pass on his many, many, many transgressions from conservative doctrine.” I do agree with this… Read more »
