A federal judge in Washington, D.C., declined the Associated Press’ request to temporarily restore its White House access after President Donald Trump banned the outlet for continuing to use “Gulf of Mexico” in its reports.
U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden, who was appointed by Trump in 2017, turned down the Associated Press’ request for a temporary restraining order, writing that the AP “can get access to the same information” from pool coverage rather than attending each White House event directly.
Judge McFadden explained that he was not convinced the AP faced “irreparable harm” from the current restrictions, per CNN.

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I., is being accused of violating ethics rules after backing laws that financially benefited his wife’s environmental organization.
The Democratic senator and climate hawk voted for key laws that provided funding for grants to the environmental non-profit group that works with his wife, Sandra Whitehouse, and pays her through a consulting firm.
The ethics watchdog, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), is asking the Senate Select Committee on Ethics Chairman James Lankford, R-Okla., and Vice Chairman Chris Coons, D-Del., to investigate Whitehouse “to determine whether he violated the Senate ethics rules on conflicts of interest.” The group works primarily to draw attention to potential Democratic lawmaker ethics violations.

Judge John Bates Faces Impeachment After Order Against Trump

On January 29, 2025, Trump’s Office of Personnel Management (OPM) issued a memorandum to all agencies titled “Initial Guidance Regarding President Trump’s Executive Order Defending Women.” It ordered all agencies to “take down all outward facing media (websites, social media accounts, etc.) that inculcate or promote gender ideology,” and “ensure that all applicable agency policies and documents, including forms, use the term ‘sex’ and not ‘gender.’”

The article of impeachment states that Bates’ ruling was “so utterly lacking in intellectual honesty and basic integrity that he is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors.”
These lame rulings by lame judges need to have some punishment attached. The section dealing with Federal judges states that ‘Federal judges shall remain in office while in good behavior.‘ (emphasis added)
There are a whole bunch of judges who engage in blatantly partisan rulings with no basis in law. They should be removed. Hamurabi got wind of a judge doing this and he had the judge skinned alive, his hide tanned, and used to upholster the bench for that judge’s replacement – as a reminder. -

7X Deported Suspected MS-13 Gang Member Arrested for Murder in East Texas Migrant ColonyThis is the Colony Ridge ‘subdivision’.
During the traffic stop on a white panel van, the investigator identified the driver as Gerson Lopez Zuniga. They identified his passengers as Gruz Isidro Sandoval and Adan Aguirre Arzate—all residents of Liberty County. According to the sheriff’s report, all three of the occupants were identified as being illegally present in the United States.
Investigators found the driver, Zuniga, to be illegally in possession of a semi-automatic handgun, the sheriff stated. One of the passengers, Sandoval, reportedly told the task force about a larger quantity of methamphetamine located in a nearby camper trailer.
Investigators obtained permission to search the trailer and found 12 iceberg lettuce boxes containing approximately 344 pounds of methamphetamine.
ICE officials said all three of the men had been deported on at least four occasions.
There needs to be a special prison complex for illegal alien criminals. Make it very uncomfortable for these criminals to be there while they serve their time for the crimes they committed in addition to being here illegally. Make them understand that once they have served their time and are deported, that if they return they are subject to execution.

DeSantis also mentioned 170,000+ state regulations that were either outdated or plain harmful. He announced plans to cut 900 positions — a potential 9 million dollar annual savings (Portland readers: that’s 90 million every ten years).
University ops and curriculum will also be given a thorough exam.
In other words, say ‘adiós’ to majors in marxist theory of transgendered indigenous swamp ecology. (I.e., reptiles.)

In an op-ed written for the Washington Examiner, Byron York revealed the Democrats’ plan to take down Trump. The editorial’s headline read, “Undermining Trump in Ukraine.” It could have just said, “Undermining Trump.”
Basically, execute enough character assassination against Trump until enough people fall for the lies, then go after the weaker R’s.
Because when you can’t win in the arena of ideas….
I think Trump already knows this, and has some surprises planned for them.
So far, Trump has trumped the Dems at every turn. Flipping the next elections may be harder than they are planning on the left.

Across the river in Washington, a senior career Treasury Department official delivered a memo warning Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent that granting a 25-year-old computer engineer with Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency access to the government’s ultra-sensitive payments system risked exposing highly classified CIA payments that flow through it.
And on the CIA’s 7th floor — home to top leadership — some officers are also quietly discussing how mass firings and the buyouts already offered to staff risk creating a group of disgruntled former employees who might be motivated to take what they know to a foreign intelligence service.
Taken together, those actions highlight the depth of unease among career officials that Trump’s efforts to speedily slim down the US government may be putting American secrets within the grasp of foreign spies and hackers.

It used to be that harboring bizarre sexual kinks and revolting fetishes was an automatic disqualifier for top-secret clearance. Every now and then I go look at the State of Texas Unclaimed Funds web site to make sure we don’t have a refund or rebate of some kind sitting out there waiting for us to stake our claim to it.
I found entries for various siblings and their offspring; a couple for my father (one of them was over $800, but I don’t know if Eldest Sis wants to mess with it).
I have some cousins here in Houston and I found entry after entry after entry for that family: Mom, Dad, kids. I’ve alerted the cousin for whom I have a contact.
And I found one for my son-in-law, some kind of utility deposit refund.
…..and my work here is done.

Last month, “Arabica coffee prices hit an eye-watering new high on the Intercontinental Exchange at $3.48 a pound,” Food and Wine reported. “This means the price is up more than 40% over the last three months and 79% year-over-year — and it’s set to trickle down to the consumer level soon.”
This month, things are worse. “The world benchmark for the global price of Arabica coffee has more than doubled what it was a year ago, as of Friday,” KIRO 7 News reported Monday.
The biggest culprit is drought, which hit coffee producers Brazil and Vietnam particularly hard. “Brazil, which exports the lion’s share of the industry’s preferred arabica beans, was beginning its growing season as the country’s worst drought on record stretched into a second year,” Meg Duff wrote today for Business Insider.
