    Rumor is Trump ordered charges against Eric Adams dropped because he has culpatory evidence on Leticia James and Alvin Bragg. We shall see. There does have to be a big quid pro quo attached to that deal though.

          He, Adams, was in the club and in the loop. It would not surprise me at all if he has all the receipts. Might even be able to take some judges out in the process.

    Here are photos of the carrier, USS Harry S. Truman, and the freighter it collided with near the Suez. There’s lots of rust on this hull and Glenn Reynolds made these comments which echo my own…

    I hear people say this a lot about naval vessels in general lately, because it’s true. I believe it’s due to a combination of very long deployments brought about by an understrength Navy, reduced standards, and, I believe, new, inferior “eco friendly” paint. There was always time and money for pronoun training though.

    Sal Mertigliano posted a report yesterday on YouTube with limited data on the USS Truman collision. The most disturbing thing is the Truman and its escort destroyer, the USS Jason Dunham, both had their AIS (Automatic Identification System) turned off navigating very crowded waters in the SE Mediterranean. It makes no sense. The northern end of the Suez Canal is a massive nautical parking lot.

    This leaked audio from JP Morgan’s Jamie Dimon raising pure hell with his managers over the work-from-homers, sloppiness, zoomers and internal bureaucracy is excellent. Some profanity involved and understandable.

    I saw this on Watter’s last night.

    MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow was pulling a Rachel Maddow on Wednesday night when she attempted to set off a conspiracy theory about Elon Musk and the Trump administration.

    The left-wing cable host devoted a segment of her show to accusing President Donald Trump and Musk of corruption and “self-dealing” over a potential $400 million purchase of armored Tesla vehicles through a State Department contract. However, Maddow omitted a crucial detail of the story: the planned purchase was listed in a procurement document published in December under former President Joe Biden’s administration, weeks before Trump even took office.

    On Thursday, the Trump State Department pushed back on Maddow and other reports, saying that the plan originated in the Biden administration with the goal “to explore interest from private companies to produce armored electric vehicles.”

    “The solicitation is on hold and there are no current plans to issue it,” the State Department said.

    The State Department further shut down the speculation, stating, “No government contract has been awarded to Tesla or any other vehicle manufacturer to produce armored electric vehicles for the Department of State.”

    Of course, Maddow’s ‘report’ had all the trappings of MSNBC conspiracizing, much like the Russiagate Hoax: a tidbit of information that may have reflected poorly on Trump extrapolated to a baseless extreme almost comically untethered from reality. In other words, it was false and misleading.

    University of Tennessee law professor Glenn Reynolds’ Law of Distilled Spirits class. And see the the largest copper pot still in North America.

    I do, however, know more now. The course covers the history (a bit), production (basics of distilling, mostly), and regulation of alcoholic beverages. I cover regulation at the federal level (mostly via the Tax and Trade Bureau of the Department of the Treasury, better known as the TTB, though there’s some involvement of the FDA, the Patent and Trademark Office, etc.), at the state level, through state Alcoholic Beverage Commissions or the like, and at the local area in terms of zoning, fire codes, and such. In all cases, it’s basically from the viewpoint of a producer.

    And the topic is important. Booze is a big business, and in Tennessee, since a former student spearheaded the law change back in 2009, the number of distilleries has shot up from 3 to over 50. There’s real work for lawyers.

    Barely here, even now. I had a rough night last night, spending half of it in the bathroom. I must’ve eaten something that my gut found unreasonable. Then I met Hubby for an early Valentine’s Day lunch at Floyd’s Seafood – it was delicious – went to the bank to conduct some business, thenby the grocery store, came home unloaded groceries and did a few things, and then I laid down on the couch. I was barely standing at that point. I’m still tahrred.

    I have to be up early in the morning for church stuff. I’m glad Hubby said I don’t need to cook dinner. I may go lay back down again.

    I hear, though, that Vance ripped the EU a couple of new ones: his AI speech in France(?) and then in Germany. I may have to go find those speeches this weekend so I can listen to them fer m’self.

    First of all, the guy is an aggregator. He doesn’t get to chose who produces the content.
    Secondly, there are less sources than ever producing content.
