It seems that besides killing birds and beautiful vistas, wind farms also produce a low frequency noise that, well, kills.

Inaudible Infrasound from Wind Turbines Disturbs Health of Humans and All Organisms

… We understand wind turbines are enormous and take up massive stretches of natural land and water space. But that’s not all. … wind turbines release an inaudible, low-frequency vibration that is harmful to human health, with chronic exposure leading to severe disturbance of vascular regulation in all living organisms.

Of course, climate change fanatics pushing wind power glorify it as safe. But not so fast. A hard pause is in order because wind power is indeed a silent hazard to the human body. A June 2024 analysis by Dr. Bellut-Staeck underscores earlier research confirming that these gigantic wind turbines…produce increasingly intense infrasound pressure. To explain further, humans can only sense sound waves over an approximate range of between 20 and 20,000 Hertz. The human ear cannot hear any sound waves below 20 Hz. These silent but lethal sound waves are called infrasound. Infrasound emitted naturally, meaning by nature, is of no concern because it is harmless. However—in addition to disrupting wildlife, shredding countless essential insects and birds, and severely hurting the biotope—infrasound from man-made wind turbines is a major cause for concern.

… A 2021 article in the German publication Tichy’s Einblick explained that there are molecular mechanisms by which our body’s cells detect mechanical forces and trigger biochemical processes. Importantly, biochemical processes are chemical reactions that occur within our body to sustain life, including the breakdown and synthesis of biomolecules like proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids —all essential for the body to function and survive. In other words, it’s the “chemistry of life” happening within a living being.

Well, guess what? Infrasound from wind turbines is one of the mechanical forces detected by the body’s cells, triggering biochemical processes because the body is highly sensitive to pressure changes, even if they go unnoticed. These effects become more evident over time. Specifically, fluctuations in air pressure, as a rule, create a disrupting effect….

***

These low frequency vibrations can extend over long distances – miles – and penetrate buildings.  The human ear is particularly susceptible to damage from these frequencies.  I’ve read other articles about farmers and their families who live next to these wind farms and end up getting sick.

Think of all those ocean mammals – whales, etc. – beaching themselves.  It’s quite possible that those offshore wind farms are doing this to them.

***

Likewise, the study by Dr. Bellut-Staeck reiterates what has been known but not publicized for a long time—that chronic infrasound exposure from wind turbines devastates human health and can lead to serious consequences, including vascular disorders….

In the human body, this can lead to various symptoms: pressure in the eardrums and chest, nausea, headaches, exhaustion, and insomnia. The German Medical Journal also reports shortness of breath, depression, arrhythmias, tinnitus, dizziness, ear pain, and vision and hearing impairments.

This phenomenon has been known in science for quite some time. …

And most recently comes the investigation by Bellut-Staeck, confirming serious vascular disorders must be added to the frightening list of damages caused by low frequencies or infrasound. The list includes the potential impact of infrasound on human metabolism with nitric oxide (NO), the possible development of inflammatory diseases like arteriosclerosis, and the promotion of high blood pressure. Wow, knowing this, imagine the widespread damage, including in the brain, from cell phone frequencies. It turns out our concern has not been outlandish after all, but that focus is for another day. Presently, Bellut-Staeck’s study, reviewed by several well-respected colleagues, would normally prompt regulatory authorities to consider the new evidence of latent health risks from wind turbines.

/snip

“Marine ecosystems, but also insects, appear to be particularly at risk from increasing emissions of very low frequencies. There is evidence for the increasing incompatibility of ever lower frequencies for all organisms and therefore for whole biodiversity.”

So, the “green new deal” may be the “green new death” for a multitude of animal species.  How much coverage will this get?

Dang it’s cold here, 40 degrees when I got up, only about 30 degrees colder than yesterday morning! But I can’t complain, short of the 4 days of winter we had in October (50 degree lows) we’ve had highs in the 80’s, lows in the 70’s since then. As y’all know I don’t do winter. Give me 98 and high humidity any day over cold weather.

Port Sullivan Lock. The water was so low that we were able to walk down the river bed to see the concrete structures. It is amazing to think that steamboats traveled up the Brazos river.
Through the 1850s steamboats traveled up the Brazos river to the town of Port Sullivan. The town had stores, warehouses, sawmill, and a post office. They even had a male and female college.
When the railroad bypassed Port Sullivan, residents moved to neighboring railroad town of Calvert. In 1870 Port Sullivan had a population of 1,423 residents only to decline to 123 by 1880 and by the 1890s the bustling town and college were long gone.
In the early 1900s a cotton gin and a store were built near the old town of Port Sullivan. In 1910 through 1920 concrete locks were built by the United States Army Corps of Engineers on the Brazos river. But the town never returned and the post office closed in 1941.

    Calvert, Texas

By 1871, the town claimed to have the largest cotton gin in the world. However, sources differ on when, exactly, the gin was built. The Handbook of Texas cites the 1871 date, while a 1931 Frontier Times piece on Calvert places the building of the gin by John H. Gibson as 1876. Eventually, P.C. and J.H. Gibson, Jr., took over the gin. It had 21 stands and a connected oil mill. The gin served a significant portion of the Brazos River bottoms. A total of 32,000 bales were reported received in 1882.

In 1873 a severe yellow fever epidemic killed many in the community, severely depopulating the town. An early judge, in speaking about the epidemic, noted:

The disease was brought to town by a traveling printer from Louisiana where the fever was raging. He took a room over the restaurant in the Bailey building and died there. As many persons as could made an exodus before the town was quarantined. We lost between three and four hundred persons. The fever was a terrible epidemic, and our people suffered because we did not know how to treat the disease. The trains were not allowed to stop in Calvert then and the windows of the coaches were closed until they were far out of town.

Back in the 1980s, I was riding horseback with friends on a large ranch outside of Bellville. I followed a path through some woods and came upon a very old family cemetery. I dismounted and started reading the small tombstones. There were at least a dozen children’s tombstones and a few adults who died all in the same year in the 1870s. I later found out it was a black family’s cemetery and yellow fever had killed a lot of members.

Panic engulfed MSNBC headquarters Wednesday after parent company Comcast confirmed a massive spinoff of its cable properties — with a top executive even suggesting the left-leaning network may be forced to change its name.

MSNBC stars Rachel Maddow, Chris Jansing and Katy Tur joined a tense 10 a.m. meeting at 30 Rock in Midtown led by NBCUniversal chairman Mark Lazarus, who will lead the new company, sources told The Post.

Staffers fearing looming layoffs peppered him with questions about whether the network will need to change its name, logos and headquarters after reports surfaced that the new entity could be cut off from the reporting muscle of NBC News, sources said.

Ali Hopper, a human trafficking expert, said she visited a path used by migrants lined with what cartels refers to as “rape trees,” areas where minor migrants are forced to perform sexual acts to help pay for their journey. According to Hopper, underwear hung from the branches of one such tree.

Hopper said the pathway was also lined with discarded passports and other IDs, “often burned, torn, or buried,” including the passport of a five-year old Colombian girl. While criminal migrants often enter the country under false names to avoid detection, Hopper said changing children’s identity raises “darker questions.”

    From Texpat’s @ 8:47 AM;

The rabid anti-Trump network has averaged roughly 550,000 viewers since Election Day, marking a 39% drop compared with its viewership in October, according to Nielsen data. In primetime, MSNBC’s audience fell 53%, according to Nielsen.

MSNBC is projected to shed approximately 10.5% of its subscribers between the end of 2023 and the end of 2025, according to estimates from Kagan, a market research firm that is part of S&P Global Intelligence.

The firm estimated that MSNBC could be left with an average of 61.3 million viewers at the end of 2025 compared with 68.5 million in 2023.

    Also;

Rival CNN has experienced similar declines, averaging 413,000 viewers, or a 22% dip from its October averages. Primetime viewership fell 43%.

    Meanwhile at Fox;

Meanwhile, at Fox News, the audience continues to grow in the weeks after the election. The network’s total day audience jumped 38% and its primetime audience grew 21%.

    Speaking of baldness.

Looking at photos of Biden in his early 30s as a new senator, he was already losing much of his hair and it’s clear he’s had plenty of hair implants over years.

And that reminds me my barber is from Jordan and wears a full beard and shaves his head…until now. He took his new wife and baby boy to visit his family in Jordan in August. While he was there he got hair implants – very professional looking. He said they quoted him $9,000 here in New Jersey, but in Jordan it only cost him a little over $1,000 for the same thing.

The only time I listen to country music is on Sirius radio or Pandora online. Country “music” radio is so bad I simply can’t stand it. All this new stuff maybe pop music but it sin’t country. Take a look at this featured act at the Country Music Association awards in Nashville last night. I don’t even know how to describe it. Also, the most nominated singer didn’t even show up and nobody knows why.

Morgan Wallen’s total absence from the show was one of the most bizarre moments, but Jeff Bridges managed to make it worse by mispronouncing Wallen’s name. The star was called upon to take home the most coveted award of the night, Entertainer of the Year, but did not attend the show. Kimberly Schlapman seriously could have grabbed a different dress off the hanger, and Chris Stapleton definitely forgot to thank his wife before awkwardly declaring his own failure.

They don’t know if she has the right stuff to be president. They’re worried that she doesn’t, they’re worried that she was that kid in grade school who ate paste, they just don’t know. She hasn’t — she won’t be pinned down, I think in some cases she’s lying. People are worried that if she walked by a polygraph machine, the dang thing would explode.”

Popping in briefly to review the daily entries so far, and to toddle off to my happy place at the C&C. I made two more manly type rosaries this morning, said my prayers, and did my routine quality control review of my rosary stash. I like to periodically take them out, count them (so I know if I’m running low), and take them out of their bags to handle them personally. This is how I catch problems and fix them. A few days ago, one of my strung rosaries had a failed crimp. I ended up having to restring it. This morning, one of my “reserve” rosaries had separated at a connection of chain and wire link. Even though I think I close those connecting links, I sometimes miss one. In this case, because chain was involved, it didn’t take much of a gap for the chain to slip loose. It was an easy enough fix, but if I didn’t toss it around a bit and run it through my fingers, I could’ve given it to someone who would then have a rosary separate on them.

And I’m astonished at the number of folks who bring me “broken” rosaries that only need a set of needle nose pliers to “fix” them.

So, I’m going to see the C&C before hitting the treadmill…

Good morning, C&C, it’s Thursday! Things are running a little late here due to scheduled medical business related to the newest and eldest member of the household. Nevertheless, your terrific Thursday roundup includes: inisidious New York Times op-ed seductively offers public health spankings but delivers a dud of a limited hangout; House moves toward biological-sex restrictions on women’s only spaces in the Capitol; Pennsylvania insurrectionist and County Commissioner walks back defiant and apologies abjectly; and insta-walkback of Gaetz-assassination on the View.

    Opening salvo:

A seemingly thoughtful, honest, and perceptive feature op-ed ran in yesterday’s New York Times, decorated with high-production-value custom animated graphics, seductively titled, “In America, if Everything Is a Public Health Crisis, Nothing Is.” Despite its surprising suggestion of soul-searching honesty and its brutally honest headline, it turned out a dud. It was less about repairing the Grey Lady’s tattered reputation and was everything about vaccinating the deep state against an incoming Trump Administration.

    Of course it is!

Warming to its theme, and properly citing the pandemic as Exhibit “A”, the article correctly stated the fact that “The nation’s public health apparatus is reliant on panic and outrage as a tool for addressing basic problems.” … The bigger problem for public health is that during the pandemic, through excessive overuse, its minions exhausted its favorite tool, fear.

Are we done with the fearmongering yet? I know I am. But are the sheeple? I think that many Americans are tired of being herded by fear, but there’s always the libleft contingent who will do whatever they are being told by Big Brother.

Thus, despite an encouraging setup, the author never ultimately challenged the public health behemoth at all. The article never grappled with the ethics of fear manipulation as a public health tool at all. It never even mentioned the historic loss of trust in public health.

    Because…agenda!

In other words, this op-ed is the Times investment of a substantial effort into battlespace preparation, to de-legitimize future conservative claims of any crisis, whether seed oils, untested vaccines, or even stolen ballots and open borders. After four years of happily enjoying Democrats’ forever-crises, they are now scrambling to reset the board, getting set to argue against any crisis President Trump identifies without sounding hypocritical. You’re abusing emergency powers!

Sometimes these folks just wear me out.

Skipping the whole trans thing in Congress, I’ll move on to Mr. C’s discussion of the Laken Riley murder by the non-space alien:

Why anyone reads the Times remains a mystery. In its story, the NYT never mentioned Ibarra’s country of origin: Venezuela. Nor did it mention important evidence from the trial proving the gruesome rape and hideous murder of young nursing student Laken Riley, 22, was part of Ibarra’s gang initiation. Nor did the Times describe critical testimony, like when Ibarra’s roommate testified how the pair had been flown around the country with free government-funded plane tickets, first going to New York, where they enjoyed taxpayer largesse in their free room at the Roosevelt Hotel, before flying to Atlanta.

Jose and his female roommate had to jet out of New York after Jose had been arrested and then released. They moved to Athens since it was a “sanctuary city.”

Ibarra’s publicly funded defense lawyer first moved to transfer Ibarra’s case out of the county, arguing the illegal immigrant could never receive a fair trial in Athens. When the court denied his venue change request, Ibarra’s attorneys waived his right to a jury trial, and the case proceeded with the judge determining the verdict. During trial, Ibarra’s lawyers tried to shift the blame arguing, I’m not making this up, it could have been Jose’s brother, arguing that his illegal immigrant brother was more fit and thus better able to accomplish the rape and murder than Jose.

Don’t blame Jose’s public defender. She was just walking through the normal murder defense flow-chart. I prefer to believe his lawyer did a workmanlike but unenthusiastic job, providing him with just enough of a defense to avoid gifting him any Sixth Amendment “ineffective assistance of counsel” argument on appeal.

In a separate hearing later in the day yesterday, the judge sentenced Ibarra to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The County’s liberal District Attorney, Deborah Gonzalez, did not seek the death penalty, out of concern for “collateral consequences” to other illegal immigrants.

Never mind the collateral consequences of teaching murderous Venezuelan gang members they won’t face the death penalty in Athens-Clarke County.

    No. Words.

I linked to the Bucks County hearing yesterday, regarding the blatant disregard for the law and the insistence on counting illegal ballots, even those that courts had deemed invalid.

The arrogance has bitten the arrogant in the butt. I listened to some of the hearing yesterday, and citizen after citizen demanded the resignation of the board members, and one lady said she was actually filing criminal charges.

    Ooooops.

Ms. Ellis-Marseglia rapidly became a woman on a deserted political island. On Monday, following national fury, Democrat Governor Josh Shapiro distanced himself from the debacle saying, “to be clear: any insinuation that our laws can be ignored or do not matter is irresponsible and does damage to faith in our electoral process.” The same day, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court ordered all counties (meaning Bucks County) to comply with its previous rulings over undated ballots. Some of the justices blasted Bucks officials for “upending the rule of law.”

In Sunday’s C&C, I observed that Ms. Ellis-Marseglia had placed herself in the crosshairs of potential criminal prosecution as an insurrectionist or worse, an election interferer. There’s no evidence she’s yet been charged but apparently, for some reason, Ms. Ellis-Marseglia has experienced a significant heart change.

At yesterday’s board meeting, Ellis-Marseglia faced a fiery crowd and international news coverage. She began by apologizing. She first apologized that people misunderstood her comment and took it out of context. When that non-apology landed with a thud, Ellis-Marseglia groveled a little further, seeking empathy and blaming her controversial comments on her passion for public service. “The passion in my heart got the best of me, and I apologize again for that,” she said.

    A 2015 “conduct unbecoming an officer” complaint filed by a fellow officer after Byrd, again off duty, confronted him while the officer was working at a high school football game in an incident with racial overtones;

    A 33-day suspension in 2019 after Byrd left his service weapon unattended in a public Capitol Hill bathroom;

A failure to pass a routine background check shortly after Jan. 6 when attempting to purchase a shotgun for home protection, after the USCP worked to provide Byrd a department-issued shotgun instead, he failed the training; and

Three further referrals to the Capitol Police Office of Professional Responsibility for which records are reportedly missing.

While I was on the treadmill, our insurance agent called. I had cc’d him on an email I sent back to our insurance company regarding the “inspections” that were supposedly executed on our properties and the required repairs we need to do to keep our insurance in place.

Let’s just recap our properties list (all in Houston except W):

F: a single family residence in front, garage conversion studio in back.
E: side by side duplex with fenced yards
    W: triplex in Bryan
    P: another SFR in Pasadena
IW: upstairs/downstairs duplex, another garage conversion studio in back (currently gutted and being rebuilt, so lots of material laying around)

I received a phone call from the “inspector” (and as I tell the story, you’ll understand why the quotes are necessary) that he was going to be doing an exterior only inspection at the F, E, and IW properties. Fine. I sent texts to our tenants to not freak out if they see a stranger wandering around on X date and taking pictures. The tenants thanked me and assured me that they’d pick up loose items and trash before that day. (We have great tenants, btw.)

A few weeks ago, we got a report on the IW property, with pictures and an explanation of what needed to happen to keep our insurance. Remediation period was 30 days. There was a barbecue pit being stored on the back porch, and we were told that it was dangerous there and had to be kept away from the building. It was simply being kept under the roof, out of the rain. /smh/ So, to cover our butt, we sent letters to the tenants explaining the danger of using any combustible device within ten feet of the structure and that evictions would occur if they violated that rule. They both signed and returned to me, and the downstairs tenant even moved the pit out into the yard so I could take a picture of the cold pit being the appropriate distance away. We also had to clean up debris from the rebuild. Our agent explained to the insurance company that this was to be expected and we’d assured him that we were not going to leave that crap out when we were ready to show the property to sign a new lease. /smh again/ All of this was done within two weeks (it took a while to get the letters back).

Then, we get two emails forwarded from our agent: we’d received “Second and Final Notices” of issues on our E and W properties. Remediation period of ONE WEEK or we’d be canceled. We never got the first ones! Our agent assured us that he never saw the first notices, either. He’s wissed as well. We have a GREAT agent; Ray takes very, very good care of his customers. He’s already run interference for us with the insurance company on this issue. But I digress…

First “Second Notice” report to arrive, the E property needed some numbers put on the appropriate electrical panels and a tenant-installed gate/fence needed to be repaired. Hubby is working on that, but Hubby noticed that the tenant-installed carport connection to the unit had failed on one corner. He’ll be fixing that, too, but the inspector missed that sagging corner.

Yesterday we got a similar “Second Notice” email forwarded from our agent (without the first notice to us) with the same timeline and warnings for the W property in Bryan. This one left us confused. We were not given a warning that an inspector was going to be poking around up there and his notes made no sense. He said that it looked like we might have a defective breaker panel and we needed to prove that it was not a recalled model. The breaker panels are *inside* the units, not outside – so did he knock on doors and get invited in? If it was an outside “panel,” what was he looking at? We have meter connections and a/c cutoff switches, and that’s it. Pictures would have been sent with the original notice, and without them we can’t tell what in the heckfahr he’s talking about. Does he not know the difference between a breaker panel and a cutoff switch?

So, just a little incensed, I fired off a reply email documenting the failure to deliver our first notices with the same 30 day window that we had for our IW property; and that now we were working on multiple properties with a highly compressed time frame. And why weren’t we notified on the W inspections? We have two single women living up there and having a strange man poking around their domiciles would not have been good news. (Our agent told us another inspector received a warning shot, for the same reason.) I also explained our inability to decipher the “panel box” issue at our W property and needed the pictures from the original report in order to figure out WTH this “inspector” was talking about. Etc., etc.

I also asked if there were other “first notice” reports that we were missing. I knew that he’d been our F property – but no mention of our P property? I simply asked if we had other outstanding inspection reports that we hadn’t received; no way was I bringing up the P unit if he’d overlooked it. Given his track record, there’s no telling what he reported.

I made sure that I cc’d our agent on the email, and he called me back while I was on the treadmill. Ray assured us our coverage was safe. Hubby heard me talking to him and came over to listen and join the conversation. Turns out that there WAS a report on the F property, but the inspector didn’t realize that there were two SFR’s on the lot??? It’s listed as two. There are two front doors. There’s a sidewalk to the back unit.../smh yet once more/ Oh, and the panel box was “inaccessible”. Bullwiss! Follow the power lines to the building. It is Right. There. There are no dogs nor fences to impede his access. /I’m getting dizzy from all the smh going on/

Ray’s gonna send over all 20 pages that he got when Ray called the insurance company himself. Maybe there’s a P report in there as well.

I don’t think we’ve ever had such weird inspections in all the years we’ve had rentals.

So the Illinois supremely kangarooed court of penguins threw out the Jessie smullet conviction.

    surprise surprise surprise.

just think if he would’ve been able to successfully frame two white maga supporters with a conviction to boot. They’d have gotten 25 years to life with no ‘sweetheart deal.’

Matt Gaetz statement on X about his withdrawal:

I had excellent meetings with Senators yesterday. I appreciate their thoughtful feedback – and the incredible support of so many. While the momentum was strong, it is clear that my confirmation was unfairly becoming a distraction to the critical work of the Trump/Vance Transition. There is no time to waste on a needlessly protracted Washington scuffle, thus I’ll be withdrawing my name from consideration to serve as Attorney General. Trump’s DOJ must be in place and ready on Day 1.

I remain fully committed to see that Donald J. Trump is the most successful President in history. I will forever be honored that President Trump nominated me to lead the Department of Justice and I’m certain he will Save America.

If it is unconstitutional for Biden to forgive student loan debt, why isn’t unconstitutional for him to forgive debt owed by Ukraine ? It is appropriating funds in both cases usurping the authority of the House of Representatives.

That hasn’t happened in (trying to count on fingers) ….a long time!

Just for grins, I pulled up Zillow rent listings for the apartments we sold in the Montrose area of Houston. I looked at the pictures of the current vacancies, and noticed that even though they’ve raised the rent (we were below market value on a lot of our units, to limit turnover), they are not maintaining them to the standards that we had.

The floors are showing quite a bit of wear, there’s some damaged sheetrock by the front door, and overall it just looks more dingy. They left mold in the corners of the tub grout (Steve would’ve had Handyman’s hide if he’d done that!). We had been renovating each unit as it came available with new paint in the kitchens to update the old 1960’s wooden cabinets and freshen them up. In the bathrooms, we were updating fixtures and affixing frames around the mirrors not only to hide the flaking silver on the back side edges, but because it made them look newer and cleaner. None of that had been done to the listed unit, and the kitchen just looked old and dirty, and the bathroom looked very dated and dirty. We would never….

We’re glad that we sold that property, but it is sad and somewhat frustrating to see what the new owners are (not) doing with the property. But it’s not mine anymore, so I have to let it go.

I was just out in the car and surprised that several callers, several attorneys, called in saying Texas AG Ken Paxton should be Trump’s next nominee. I couldn’t call in, but I wanted to say on-air John Cornyn supposedly has been promoting Paxton for AG because he’s afraid Paxton will primary him in the Texas US Senate race in 2026.

    Texas cornhole’s greatest hits.
You can find a copy in your local airport bathroom stall.

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) released the following statement after voting in the Senate Judiciary Committee to advance the nomination of Merrick Garland to be U.S. Attorney General to the Senate floor:

“Judge Garland’s extensive background and commitment to depoliticizing the Justice Department make him the right choice under this Administration to serve as Attorney General,” said Sen. Cornyn. “However, that doesn’t change the fact that he and I disagree on a host of issues, and I’m under no illusion that Judge Garland will be a firm check on progressives’ ideological wish list during his tenure.”
