Monday Efficiency Open Comments

Elon Musk:

“The interest payments on the debt exceed the defense department budget of a trillion dollars a year, and that is rising rapidly. There have to be quite radical reductions in costs. If, please Lord, Trump wins and the Department of Government Efficiency happens, we will be very open and transparent. Here are the issues. We’re going to lower spending, and if we don’t, we’re going to bankrupt the country. I’ve tried Googling it, and I’ve asked all the AIs how many government agencies are there. Even the government doesn’t know. The AIs don’t know. It’s about 450, but maybe it’s 420. That’s a lot of agencies just at the federal level. We have to unwind the situation. It will unleash a new era of prosperity because people don’t realize how much they are getting held back by millions of federal regulations. If it turns out that we actually got rid of a good regulation, we’ll put it back. It’s that easy.”

I thought Vivek Ramaswamy had the best speech yesterday at the rally. As disappointed and angry as I am at Tucker, he made some excellent points. JD Vance gets better and better in front of a crowd. He’s already top-notch in one on one situations like interviews. The organization and timing was great and everybody stuck to their time limits.

Environmental Suicide Watch – Part 1 and 2

San Antonio based Valero may have finally had enough of Gavin and his morons in California. Chevron called it quits on the state last week.

    #1

Short on the heels of another major refinery closure, Valero signaled it is considering closing its two California refineries that produce over 14% of the state’s gasoline. Refinery closures already have the state importing 8% of its gasoline supply, which means the state could soon have to significantly increase its imports of refined products such as gasoline, on top of its existing reliance on the Middle East and South America for the majority of its crude oil.

Valero announced its profit is down significantly due to very low margins from its refinery business, prompting a question during its earning call about its costly California refineries.

    #2

GE Vernova, the company that manufactured the blade that broke off a wind turbine off the coast of Nantucket and littered the shoreline with shards of potentially dangerous fragments is taking a financial hit over the incident.

In its third quarter earnings call, according to RTO Insider, the company stated its onshore wind business saw its best quarter since 2021, but the problems with its offshore business had taken the wind out of the good news. The July 13 blade failure and subsequent delays will cost the company an estimated $700 million.

GE Vernova CEO Scott Strazik said the company cut offshore jobs in the third quarter, and it wouldn’t be taking new orders until there’s a substantial change in the financials of the offshore wind industry. In the meantime, GE Vernova will focus on satisfying a $3 billion offshore wind backlog.

    Me: Speechless

I really didn’t think the Dems could shock me anymore, but this….

    Collin Rugg

    @CollinRugg

NEW: Democrat groups release an ad of a young man m*sturbating in an effort to get people to vote for Kamala Harris.

The Democratic Party: The party of abortion and p*rn addicts.

Progress Action Fund and Defend the Vote have released a $2.5 million ad campaign with the 30-second ad.

The ad was called “Republicans Rubbing You the Wrong Way,” with an actor playing a Republican congressman watching the young man rub one out.

The ad campaign is being displayed on streaming services in all seven swing states.

I predicted 100,000 people in streets outside the rally and I was close.

GPS—a total of 98,678 mobile devices were at or in the immediate vicinity of Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally.

Just under 20,000 were in the venue itself and the balance were outside watching.

A PSA for the ladies out there. Be careful where you get your facial moisturizer. Daughter ordered some stuff off of Amazon that was shipped from South Korea and it made her face swell up and her skin burn. Her eyes were almost swollen shut. Afterward she scrubbed her face with makeup remover and used aloe. She was fine the next day but her skin was still tender. I figured that the company that made the moisturizer also made that skin rejuvenator that causes your skin to peal off and maybe they mixed them up.
FWIW; Daughter doesn’t usually skimp on anything to do with makeup and such so was kind of surprised that she would buy a product that she wasn’t sure of. Also she never leaves the house not looking like she might be on the cover of Vogue Magazine. 😉

There’s a lot of counterfeit stuff on Amazon. Best bet is to order directly from manufacturer or buy locally.

Finally finished my rosary time. I stayed up last night writing up an essay for my Latin class. Almost finished it, and learned some new words along the way.

That was part of the homework. If I didn’t make any mistakes (snuffle, snort!), the above should translate to:

I usually start my day with coffee and beads…After selecting (beads) I think about which string to use, either wire or string, and to use silver, gold, or bronze parts. I usually use bronze parts with wooden beads. Silver and gold parts usually I use with other colors.

I have one more paragraph to complete before sending it in to get red inked by magister. It was midnight and I decided to call it quits and hopefully finish it today.

    On to the C&C:

Good morning, C&C, it’s Monday! It’s the last week of October. And there are only eight short days until the election. Your rapid-fire roundup this morning includes: massive Madison Square Garden rally triggers the Left but evidences joy, energy, and enthusiasm on the Right; on the Left, Democrat resistance energy slowly leaking out of the party like air out of a deflating party balloon; and the BBC counted the cost of covid jab injuries and we examine comparisons to the last time they ran this game on America.

  18. Tedtam Avatar
    Tedtam

Despite the joy at MSG yesterday, the lefty media was having none of it:

For instance, behold the New York Times’ top headline this morning: “Trump at the Garden: A Closing Carnival of Grievances, Misogyny and Racism.” And in the subheadline, the Times ominously warned, “Donald Trump’s rhetoric has grown darker and more menacing.”

    /snip

Back in 1939, Democrats and their socialist allies once held a Nazi Party rally at Madison Square Garden, and that fact instantly became an intoxicating catnip that far-left reporters could not ignore….

Did Trump plan to trigger the left this way? Trolling the media to make them overreact is a classic Trump marketing maneuver. Their knee-jerk outrage is his publicity…..Trying to smear Trump this way always backfires, but media keeps doing it anyway. They can’t help it.

It’s a frikkin’ addiction, that TDS.

I’ll stop the commentary there, but Mr. C. has some delicious comments about the attempt to connect Trump and Hitler. I think I saw on Dr. Malone’s Friday Funnies (linked yesterday) about Hitler drank water, Trump drinks water, ergo Trump is just like Hitler.

I’d love to play that on a liberal myself, some day.

  19. Tedtam Avatar
    Tedtam

Mr. C’s next topic is about the “resistance movement” failed and one reason being the lack of depth on the opposition’s bench. I think that particular point was painfully obvious when the Cackler became the candidate. Or that Biden was put into office (yes, I believe the election cheating stories).

Somehow, 2016’s “#Resistance” movement has “already splintered, with clashes between hard-edge progressive and moderates driving out some key leaders.” It’s almost like someone has run a kind of color revolution against the Democrats, exploiting the weaknesses inherent in a political party patched together from dozens of separate victim groups with competing priorities.

Read the whole article. It was encouraging to hear from the article’s bunch of 2016 anti-Trump activists who now seem much less fired-up about a possible Trump victory, and more drained, dispirited, and disillusioned. The Journal’s description of Democrat enervation was the exact opposite of the joyful energy and excitement beaming into space from Madison Square Garden yesterday.

That particular comparison becomes more obvious every day, and depending upon which side you’re on, even more painful or joyful with each setting sun.

They are now in “rebuilding” mode. Let’s hope that “Build back better” works just as well for them as it did for all of us.

In the UK, the system set up to compensate folks for jab injuries is denying claims right and left. Forget that neurological problems, blindness, heart issues, etc., are going to be lifelong (for however long THAT turns out to be) burdens.

    Then, to America:

Alas, we are fighting the very same battle here in the United States, in our case over the PREP Act’s embarrassing failures to compensate vaccine-injured folks. It’s a sick joke….

Mr. C. reminds us that this isn’t the first vaccine boondoggle. Remember swine flu in 1976? A similar event: new virus->coercive vaccination program->resulting illnesses->Quick! Shut it down!->lawsuits

Famously, Mike Wallace and 60 Minutes broke the failed vaccine story, and the government’s jab program rapidly collapsed in disgrace. Wallace harshly criticized the CDC and exposed government officials who pushed the swine flu jabs while minimizing the risks. At the time, CBS’s swine flu story was hailed as courageous investigative journalism and it cemented 60 Minutes’ place in history….

The U.S. Government had indemnified the vaccine makers, so taxpayers wound up footing most of the butcher’s bill, to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars (in 1976 dollars).

Ah, how CBS has squandered their reputation!

To keep the swine flu debacle from happening again, free speech was “managed,” concealing the jab injuries. Media of all types were straitjacketed – some of them more than willingly – to suppress any opposing information from becoming accepted. Doctors had to be shut down, sometimes by yanking their medical licenses. Pharmacies were discouraged or even ordered not to fill prescriptions for cheap and safe alternatives, like ivermectin. (My personal experience – I finally ordered some from overseas. Didn’t even need a prescription.)

In the government’s view, vaccine injuries were collateral damage, unfortunate but unavoidable friction generated while speeding toward that magic 80% jab rate they wrongly thought would stop a pandemic. They never got to try it in 1976, not really, thanks to those meddling reporters.

Another extremely unfortunate byproduct of all this engineered deception was that governments could not afford to betray any expectation of vaccine injuries by increasing staffing or funding of the various vaccine injury compensation programs. Had they done so, it would have immediately exposed the lie and torpedoed the rollout.

It took a couple decades, but the 1976 debacle finally blew over. People relaxed, nobody went to jail, and the hyper-profitable vaccine industry took off like a Dragon Starship. In 2005, they quietly passed the PREP Act, sneaking it through in a defense appropriation bill, protecting both the government and the vaccine makers during 2020’s do-over of 1976.

But it will be different this time. This time, we will not let them skate past what they’ve done, like in 1976. This time, we are never ever going to quit pursuing accountability. This time, we will keep suing the PREP Act until a court finds it unconstitutional or until Congress changes the law. This time, we may enjoy the historic first of having an official leading the health agencies willing to question orthodoxy, like Robert Kennedy.

And Mr. C. is working on his court case challenging the PREP Act.

    God bless that man.

At the most recent Luzerne County Board of Elections meeting,

Say what you will about outgoing Democrat Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg…

When she repeatedly got indictments against Mayor Sylvester Turner’s cronies and, then, felony indictments against the inner circle of woman-child Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, the Rodney Ellis Machine ran their questionable candidate in the Dem Primary and beat Ogg.

But after she lost the primary she immediately turned these public corruption cases over to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Ms. Ogg will be gone come Jan 1.

But on the way out the door – just to shoot the finger at the bastards – she has gained indictments against five Houston Independent School District officials who have been running a million dollar Teacher Certification testing scam.

Have a Happy New Year Kim Ogg. You are one badass bitch.

There is a whole lot of history. When the Dodgers announced they were leaving Brooklyn in 1957, I can remember my mother being highly upset and I was only 5 years old.

Although the Dodgers lost the World Series to the Yankees in 1956 during which the Yankees pitcher Don Larsen pitched the only World Series perfect game in baseball history and the only post-season no-hitter for the next 54 years, it hardly seemed to matter. Brooklyn fans had their memory of triumph, and soon that was all they were left with – a victory that was remembered decades later in the Billy Joel single “We Didn’t Start the Fire“, which included the line, “Brooklyn’s got a winning team.”

        and then,

On April 18, 1958, the Los Angeles Dodgers played their first game in L.A., defeating the former New York and newly moved and renamed San Francisco Giants, 6–5, before 78,672 fans at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.  Catcher Roy Campanella, left partially paralyzed in an off-season automobile accident on January 28, 1958, was never able to play for the Dodgers in Los Angeles.
