I had a hard time understanding what she said but I guess she wants Michelle to get into the race? Well I don’t see why not, they yanked Biden 3 months before the election and put in the VP who had zero primary votes. And I mean zero in 2024 and 2020. Warmer here @ 61 degrees. Actually 10 degrees warmer than Saturday and Sunday.
Mornin’ Gang-
I think she’s afraid that Big Mike will find out that black wimminzes ain’t gonna vote for the throat goat.

BTW: Shannon, your @ 9:59 PM last night was good information I had no idea Kim Ogg was a normal, reasonable DA and you’re right about her political career in Harris County. ~SIGH~

California Commies reject Space-X request to increase the number of launches from 32 to 50 per year out of Vandenberg AFB. They cite his politics as one of the reasons. Musk is now suing on 1st amendment grounds, I hope he cleans their collective clocks.

Right on, Mr. Musk.

Forty eight here in Eureka Springs, getting to a high of 68 today. Tomorrow night getting down to 33. Beautiful though, we are in a really neat Best Western with great views, going to a cabin for a couple days. Not much planned today but checking things out, tomorrow is a train ride with lunch, Passion Play tomorrow night.

Chris Salcedo is reporting that emails have been leaked that Blue Cross/Blue Shield and the gubmint have been slowing down response to North Carolina. For four to six weeks….
Just in time for the election.
I can see that effort boomeranging on them.
-
Gotta hunch there will be numerous boomerangs zooming hither and yon before the election finally gets here. Coming from all sides, some of them from gypsies, tramps, and thieves; some from outraged ordinary folk; some from politicians’ helpers; some straight from the politicians themselves; and some from snarks who just want to raise hell to get noticed for grins.

My numbers are better this morning, despite the scale. I had fasted on Saturday, ate carnivore yesterday, and today is the first time that my keto numbers have been this high. Even though my blood sugar is still just over the “normal” range – barely – my Dr. Boz ratio is 57 – well, well into the “fat burning” range. I’ve been told not focus on the scale so much as how my clothes are fitting. I need to take my measurements today to see how much, if any, progress is being made there.
So, I’ll just enjoy the Boz number for now. Time for coffee and rosaries. I gave away 8 rosaries over the weekend, so I need to rebuild my stash.

Before I leave: the pending purchase of CBS is causing pearl clutching anxiety, and it’s a good thing:
What is less public is how all this weirdness is impacting CBS’s future as an ongoing business, and most important, its pending sale to Skydance, an independent studio run by movie producer David Ellison of “Top Gun: Maverick” fame.
David’s dad, Oracle founder Larry Ellison, provides much of the money behind the deal, and from what I gather, he’s not too happy about his latest acquisition.
If you don’t know Larry, here’s a primer: He’s one of the world’s richest men, and one of the most pro-Israel executives in corporate America — he’s buds with Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu.
Let’s just say the people at Skydance and the Ellisons read the newspapers (particularly The Post, which I know for a fact).
They are powerless to do anything about what’s happening at CBS for now; the $28 billion deal to buy the network’s parent, Paramount, from the controlling Redstone family doesn’t close until sometime in the spring.
But they won’t be powerless for much longer. As one person who knows all the players at CBS’s new owners told me: “They’re thinking about blowing the place up.”
What exactly “blowing the place up” means, no one knows for sure. Will it result in the defenestration of CBS News CEO Wendy McMahon and news-gathering chief Adrienne Roark, both of whom presided over the in-house thrashing of Dokoupil?

I didn’t know this was going on: a new, non-woke university startup in Austin, TX. The belly of the beast. Teaching things that Harvard, etc, won’t teach – like classics, and how to think.
-
I’m a little baffled anyone couldn’t understand the black lady in the video. It’s a parody. She is pretending to be scared because once Obama and the DNC realize black women don’t like Kamala either, they’re going to send Michelle after them…so she’s hiding. I thought it was highly amusing, but maybe others don’t.

University of Austin
I’ve been excited about it and posted here on the school project several times in the last three years. Ever since I saw this three years ago….
According to the school’s website, the University of Austin was conceived in May 2021 when venture capitalist Joe Lonsdale, St. John’s College president Pano Kanelos, scholar Niall Ferguson, and journalist Bari Weiss met in Austin, Texas. The proposal was publicized six months later in an article by Kanelos in Weiss’s (now The Free Press).
-
The University of Austin has $200 million before even opening their doors last month. Trader Jeff Yass put in $35 million. It’s encouraging to see John and Laura Arnold donate because they’ve been supporting some questionable lefty non-profits.
From Tedtam’s 8:14 link.
PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel, who has long known Lonsdale and has separately been paying students to skip college, made a small gift. Former energy trader John Arnold and his wife, Laura, who are advocates of criminal-justice reform and open debate on campus, are major donors. Alex Magaro, co-president of investment firm Meritage Group, gave $10 million last month.
The campus turmoil over the war in Gaza accelerated fundraising, school administrators said, including from those who felt universities selectively applied free-speech principles. Blavatnik, who is Jewish, gave $1 million through his family foundation in the days after Hamas attacked Israel. He later paused his giving to Harvard University, his alma mater.

When an austere religious scholar tells you that they are not interested in peace, then perhaps, you should listen and believe. Islamists are like the Borg, they are not afraid, they have no pity or mercy, AND THEY WILL NOT STOP UNTIL WE ARE DEAD.
An Islamic Scholar’s Telling AdmissionMaybe the West and the Islamic world don’t share the same values after all.

Once upon a time, the Left tried to hide their agenda yet now it’s all in your face. Check out the photos in this story.
A diversity, equity and inclusion expert had her former boss placed on administrative leave for reportedly prioritizing merit over personal identity when hiring new employees, according to a report.
Megan Donecker, who formerly served as the Oregon Department of Forestry’s DEI strategy officer, complained about the agency’s management, criticizing her boss Mike Shaw for looking “beyond gender and identity in hiring, seeking only candidates most qualified for the job,” OregonLive reported.
Shaw served as the agency’s second-in-command under State Forester Cal Mukumoto until he was placed on administrative leave on Aug. 6 after Donecker filed a formal complaint against him, the Daily Mail reported.

Hubby spent his first night with the grounding mat under his legs as he slept. The mat slipped out sometime during the night, so plans are to attach it more securely this evening.
I told him it may take weeks/months to reverse some of his ailments, since the damage took years to inflict, but he reported that he slept exceptionally well. That’s a good sign, given that his usual reports range from “crappy to okay” with the occasional “good”.
-
What is a grounding mat ?
-
Here’s the grounding mat that we bought:
Grounding – or earthing – is the practice of touching the bare earth with our skin, which allows the negative charge of the earth to interact with our bodies. It is supposed to help with health issues, including but not limited to, high blood pressure and inflammation. I’ve heard about grounding for quite a while, but it was never enough of a big deal that I’d remember it long enough to search out any products for it. As I told Hubby, I personally feel better after going barefoot in the backyard. I watched this documentary about grounding and decided to buy a mat, which does the same thing but using a grounded house circuit.

Oops ! If it was a mistake, why are they not repealing it ?
In Florida, though, their preemption law actually has some teeth. In fact, officials in Okeechobee who tried to ban guns in what they claim was a mistake may well find out just how much bite they have.
The five-member Okeechobee, Florida city council and Police Chief Donald Hagan may each be forced to pay $5,000 personally — without using taxpayer dollars — for violating Florida’s powerful preemption statute, which only allows the state legislature to regulate firearms.
As previously reported, the city adopted an illegal ordinance shortly before Hurricane Helene made landfall, which banned the sale of guns and ammunition and prohibited firearm possession in public by anyone other than law enforcement or members of the military.
After learning of the civil rights violation, Florida Carry, Inc. sent a demand letter titled Written Notice of Preemption Violation and Offer of Settlement, to the city council and Chief Hagan, warning the recipients they have violated Florida’s preemption statute.
The letter, which was written by Florida Carry, Inc. General Counsel Eric J. Friday, spelled out that the pro-gun group has sufficient standing to bring a lawsuit if the ordinance is not repealed within 30 days, and demanded the payment of $30,000 in damages and attorneys’ fees to “resolve this matter prior to initiation of litigation.”

Let me just say that NO ONE is above the law. 😀

Good morning, C&C, it’s Monday! Your roundup includes: saucy British sporting event surges into view; third Trump assassination attempt foiled, or was it even an assassination attempt?; SpaceX shatters more records with revolutionary space launch; DEI-focused Boeing faces massive layoffs but clings to diversity; JD Vance spars with corporate media icon over handfuls of gangs; and Harris polls keep sliding as Democrat panic increases.
Spoiler: the sporting event is gravy wrestling. Yep, you read that right. I guess it’s the British version of America’s mud or Jell-O wrestling; aka, “another reason to get drunk and getting titillated while watching women wrestle in wet, skin clinging (lack of) clothing.”
Yeah, I’m skipping that story.

It’s just “a handful of apartment complexes”, you know. Suppose these three properties aren’t large complexes, maybe 75 units each. If an average of 2 people are living in each apartment, we’re talking about 450 people whose lives are in danger.
They beat the management company representative so badly he had to be hospitalized. Homeland Security, FBI, state and local police refused repeated pleas from the government for help. The management company went on Joe Rogan’s podcast to set the record straight.
We started managing these buildings when new owners acquired the Colorado properties in 2019. At the time, the properties were in poor condition, and our mission was to renovate them, thereby increasing their value. This was an ambitious project that would significantly benefit the people of Aurora while providing returns to the new owners.
We understood this project would take years to yield results and would be both time-consuming and costly, involving comprehensive upgrades to every unit and the overall structure. To manage the project effectively, given our New York-based operations, our representative moved to Colorado with his family.
We also undertook a complete renovation of nearly every unit in the now well-known building you’ve seen in the news. (The images shown depict our newly renovated apartments.)
Everything was progressing smoothly: property values were rising, and vacancy rates were dropping. It was a win-win for both the owners and the city of Aurora.
Then, the gangs arrived…

Re: the “latest attempted assassination” and the weirdo involved:
Long story short – his history and story is so confusing that no one really knows for sure what/who/how he is. And what about the last (living) WBA?
In his video, so far as I can tell, Miller never mentioned his fake credentials, the home-made license plate, or explained why his car was unregistered. If cops made up those claims, I’d expect Miller to at least deny them, laugh it off, or something.
Federal authorities say they’re still investigating, but agreed President Trump was never in any danger. There is no doubt but that Miller is a pretty zesty character….
Speaking of Ryan Wesley Routh, the media appears to have lost all interest in the second Trump assassin. Despite volumes of unanswered questions, corporate media’s most recent story about the failed tiny-home contractor was over two weeks ago, when he pleaded not guilty.
Bless the Epoch Times, which ran a long-form Routh Roundup article late last week. Spoiler: they still have no idea how Routh funded all his travel and illegal weapons purchases.

One of Kamala’s closest friends.
“I say this as someone who’s known her since 1997: She’s trying,” Hala Hijazi assured a panel at an anti-Israel DNC event that once she was president, Kamala would crack down on Israel.
Hijazi, a Jordanian immigrant who has roots in Gaza, is close to Kamala and they both came up through the ranks together. The Muslim official and fundraiser had worked as a special assistant to former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown whom she described as a “mentor”.
Hala Hijazi was there for all of Kamala’s races, raising money for her Senate campaign, promoting an event co-hosted by Willie Brown, and promising that one day Kamala would be in the White House. And she can be seen posing in 2004 at the Bimbo’s club with Kamala, who had just begun her political career as San Francisco’s DA, and Obama, running for Senate.

Going from the depths of weird to the lauding of achievements:
The New York Times ran a truly miraculous story yesterday headlined, “SpaceX Advances Starship Program With a Launch and a Catch.” With everything happening these days, it would be easy to miss the record-shattering significance of yesterday’s SpaceX landing. A 20-story tall, 300-ton booster rocket lifted its cargo, then landed autonomously by precisely descending into the tender mechanical arms of a gigantic robotic crane custom-built for the purpose. It was literally the pinnacle achievement of human engineering.
CLIP 1: Official SpaceX video of Starship “chopstix” landing (0:22).
CLIP 2: Enthusiastic bystander reaction to astounding Starship landing (1:11).Blows my ever-lovin’ mind.
Musk explained that the engineering purpose of the landing is so that Starship can keep working without long delays through “launch and return.” The goal is for the ship to be ready to rapidly re-launch just one hour after landing, so that Starship will be more of an everyday workhorse than a delicate one-trick pony like NASA’s Space Shuttle.
NASA, which could not build anything close to this even with its massively bigger budget and its access to decades of the full resources of the U.S. government, broke tradition and did not congratulate SpaceX on its successful landing. Sore losers.
SpaceX’s mechanical crane system just plucked one of the heaviest rockets in service right out of the air. And the rocket navigated itself into the perfect position to be caught. It’s nearly impossible to imagine the incalculable numbers of component parts that had to perfectly come together for the midair capture to work.
It truly is an incredible time to be alive.

Meanwhile, at Boeing – layoffs are planned for 10% (17,000 employees) of its workforce.
That’ll leave a mark! Just think of the union dues not going into the Dem coffers. And the obvious meaning of fewer sales, not as much profit, etc. More “less money for Dems”.
The cuts were announced by Boeing’s brand-new CEO, Kelly Ortberg, hired in August, who is starting to look a lot like a corporate axe-man. The manufacturer’s recent woes just this year include two criminal plea deals, a machinists’ strike, ejecting door plugs, wheels falling off, and two astronauts marooned on the International Space Station that SpaceX will bring home instead.
I wonder if there’s a millionaire out there eyeing a new aircraft company. After all, a major social media site changed hands, a private spacecraft venture is being built, a major TV outlet is being purchased by an opposing viewpoint buyer….it seems most anything can happen these days.
-
And then there’s Childers reporting on JD taking on Raddatz. I hope she has some ice for that:
CLIP: Vance vs. Raddatz on truth of gang stories (1:24).Raddatz shot out of the interview gate trying to manufacture a narrative that President Trump lied about or exaggerated the threat posed by violent Venezuelan Gangs capturing U.S. apartment complexes….
It was a bad start. Martha argued, “the incidents were limited to a handful of apartment complexes. A handful of problems.” That half-witted excuse gave Vance the perfect setup.
“Do you even hear yourself, Martha?” Senator Vance asked. He continued by expressing proper levels of astonishment that ABC’s top correspondent obviously thinks there’s an acceptable amount of gang-captured apartment buildings. It’s only a handful!
Vance’s correct point was that even one gang-captured apartment building is one gang-captured apartment building too many. Handfuls of them should be a five-alarm fire situation. Far-left media is reaching hysterical levels of denial. In handfuls.

The left is really going to hate Columbus now that it’s been confirmed he was a Sephardic Jew.
The theory has been kicked around for a long time Columbus was secretly Jewish and part of his deal with Isabella and Ferdinand was to find a new homeland for the Jews in the New World to escape the Inquisition.
And the Italians are gonna be mad Columbus was from Spain, not Italy. I believe, though, it’s going to be harder to prove that one. There’s no DNA test to prove he wasn’t raised in Italy.

Trump appealed his “criminal” conviction in NY.
Notice that the actual hearing got basically zero coverage in the media.
Want to know why?
Because the justices on the court blew the case up during argument, leaving the prosecution now trying to argue not to keep the conviction but rather trying to argue they shouldn’t be sanctioned for bringing it in the first place.
TDS makes people do stupid things. But when you’re stupid to begin with, it’s a short walk…

There’s supposed to be a comet visible fairly low in the western sky for the next few days. 30-45 minutes after sunset. It only comes around every 80,000 years.

Comet will be to the right of Venus, the brightest body in the western sky.

Unbelievable.

I guess Poland is off my list of countries which to escape. Pretty much leaves Hungary. 🙂

Best line I’ve heard in awhile. A black conservative radio host on Fox said his response to Obama implying black men aren’t black if they don’t vote for Kamala is this:
“Neither you nor Kamala were raised by a black woman so y’all have no place to tell us whether we are black or not.”
