and I just watched Coma last week.
in other news the Hackensack Daily Indigestion reported that a local jersey resident, who looked like a fed wearing aviator sunglasses, was spotted in a Home Depot late last night wandering the lumber aisles.
Witnesses said that when the fed looking gentleman spotted the 2’ by 4’s he started mumbling this to himself over and over.
security was subsequently notified and he was escorted out sporting a large gauze bandage on his thumb.

Good morning campers, IT’S FRIDAY!!
-
Just for the record I approve of the Brunette Friday Gal, don’t know who she is but she’s real purdy.
BTW; Texpat have you checked with a doctor about your hand/thumb? As you mentioned yesterday without the thumb that hand is just about useless.
I’m checking in late but I’ve been puttering around here getting ready for the day. Since I played Hooky yesterday I still have a few hours of mowing to go.
One more thing, do you think the timing of the prisoner exchange had more to do with Trump winning the election than Biden being a World Class Diplomat?
Just wondering?
Mornin’ Gang-
Who did Putin think would give him a better deal Biden or Trump? OF course Putin wanted the deal done B4 Trump resumed his office.

I got my head hairs cut yesterday and I saw a great sign:
This killing people with kindness thing is taking a whole lot longer than I thought.

The cotton is blooming in the Brazos bottom.
See photo for how the blooms change color over five days.Though the photo shows a white bloom on Day 1, they’re actually a pastel lemon yellow.
-
Day one yellow, which quickly turns white
-
-
Typically, you cannot see the blooms from the road because they’re shaded by the leaves of the plant. You have to get out of the car and go look.
-
This thing looks like a lot of fun.
It can go 63 MPH according to the video but it only has a range of 20 minutes.-
I bet an actual engine and fuel would be doable.

I still can’t get over how I accidentally made this incredible prediction thinking all along I was making a joke. From the C&C…
Boeing, Boeing. Yesterday, ArsTechnica ran an embarrassing science story headlined, “NASA says it is ‘evaluating all options’ for the safe return of Starliner crew.” The sub-headline added, “SpaceX is actively working on a plan to fly Starliner’s crew home.”
-
It is because you are smart.

I twice predicted Americans would never elect Barack Obama president. Twice…twice, man.

Love it.

Evangelical voters comprise about a third of all American voters. This is serious business because the rest of us depend on them to help win the war against the Left.
Megan Basham is a top shelf writer and investigative reporter. She has just published a book, Shepherds For Sale, about the corruption of the American evangelical movement by moneyed Leftist interests.
Shannon linked on Thursday to her First Things essay, The Plot to Queer Evangelical Churches, adapted from the book.
Shepherds for Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agenda
All the leftwing usual suspects are in an absolute frantic hissy fit over Basham’s book because she names names and includes 53 pages of meticulous footnotes for reference.
Here is a podcast with Megan Basham and Ben Shapiro discussing the book and the hysterical reactions.

Very nice song.

Remember the not too long ago there was a video of the wooden dummy motoring up the big boy stairs onto AF1 and I said that wasn’t him because he can’t walk that good?
it was right after he was forced out of office by the Kenyan.
well turns out I was right. It was the fake fake wooden dummy double.
here’s the real wooden dummy lost as a goose in a snowstorm and taking the baby steps up to a plane going nowhere.

I think a pretty good case could be made for treason for a whole bunch of people, Kamala included, for covering up the obvious senility for over 2 years.
-
Yep. I made the same observation. If we here noticed it, why didn’t the media?
Oh, wait…

I really hope and pray that Trump wins. It is crucial that he take the meat ax to the leviathan of the federal government. All of the Clinton and Obama ‘inbeds’ need to be rooted out with extreme prejudice as they have repeatedly demonstrated that they are not loyal to We The People nor The Constitution. They can not be trusted and therefore they can not be in the government.
In this particular case, the acting head of the Secret Service personally cut staff to protect Trump in direct conflict with his congressional testimony this week. He belongs in prison for perjury and reckless endangerment of Trump’s life, not to mention the murder of one man and the wounding of 2 others. -
Been thinking about the plea deal for KSM (a/k/a “Joe Millionhair”). Going through a whole trial would be very difficult for all involved and not involved. And expensive. Plus the appeals, etc.
I think sending him to the Fed Prison in Florence is likely a much worse (for him) punishment than simply whacking him. It’s 23-hr/day solitary in the cell, with an hour of solitary exercise. I’m led to think that many/most basically just go nuts after a time.
-
Yes, life in solitary is a fate worse than death and most do lose their mind. He will be a prisoner inside the cell and a prisoner inside his own broken mind.
-
I think turning him loose in a FDNY union hall is the solution.

Been taking care of my sister all day. Took her to NASA to retrieve her work computer, then brought her home because she couldn’t handle much more then that. What was really bothering her were her bandages. She has very sensitive skin and the adhesive and the pulling on her was torture, in her words.
After getting her back in the house and laying down, I went to the pharmacy and searched for alternatives. I find some items that looked soft and comfortable and she chose the silicone tape and the nonstick gauze. I pointed out that with the silicone tape, she could pull it up and reposition it.
Watching her remove the original hospital bandages was painful. She finally got them off, and the relief on her face was obvious. I let her rest a few minutes while I prepped the new stuff. As soon as that silicone hit her skin, she proclaimed it almost a miracle. I think she’ll be able to rest now. Resting comfortably has eluded her to this point.

Not that I have anything to contribute about bringing our folks home from our space station, but I would guess that Elon Musk’s SpaceX folks would be preferable to figure it out and what to do about the full parking spaces already up there. So they can get in to get them home.
Boeing appears to be a total disaster on this. It just doesn’t realize it yet.
Mr. Musk is a welcome addition to Texas. So are his companies.

Wow, how come Nieka Moss wasn’t the Brunette Friday girl ?
-
So many brunettes and only 51/52 Fridays in a year.
And then I have to throw in a few blondes.
And red heads.
Speaking of which, I’ve looked for years for photos – that are up to my standards – of the greatest redhead of all time.
Still searching.

I was listening to a veteran foreign affairs and DC reporter yesterday. He said after spending over 2 decades walking in to government offices and asking question, the one single category of people he could never reach or identify was hostage negotiators. The man said there is an impenetrable wall of silence and anonymity around these people. I believe him. Look what the old Russian said and he’s probably the only one telling the truth about the deal.
Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said Friday that U.S. President Joe Biden had “nothing to do with” the biggest prisoner exchange between Russia and the West since the Cold War.
and this from the old Communist Tyrant…
“Of course, someone like the U.S. President will boost his authority with this, even though he had nothing to do with it,” Lukashenko said, referring to Thursday’s exchange.
“Special services carried out negotiations, not even diplomats were involved,” he said. “We had agreed to do this quietly [and diplomats] started yelling to the entire world. This should be done quietly, it’s people’s lives.”
You can’t trust anybody in the US State Department.
-
The State Department needs to be gutted like a fish. They have been infested with leftist commie slags for at least 75 years.

Y’all better move over down there. It’s going to get more crowded soon.
Chevron will move its headquarters to Texas from California, following Elon Musk‘s Space X in relocating to the Lone Star State.
‘Houston is the epicenter of our industry,’ Chevron CEO Mike Wirth told CNBC. ‘We’ve had our headquarters gradually growing in Texas and gradually pulling down in California. This is a continuation of a trend that has been underway for some time.’
The tax hit on California’s checkbook is going to hurt. Chevron’s net income could be much higher next year.
The company’s net income declined 26 percent to $4.43 billion, compared to $6.01 billion at the same time last year, the outlet reported.

Pulte Homes has been around since I was a kid. They never have had a good reputation. I remember walking into some of their cheap starter homes in overnight pop-up subdivisions back in the 1970s-1980s O&G/Real Estate Boom. Real pieces of crap.
She said she hired her own home inspector, who noticed nearly 80 issues. Among them are inadequate interior and exterior wall braces.
‘What that does is make the house more vulnerable to racking to the wind loads,’ Mark Eberwine said. ‘And not even tornado-level wind loads, just high winds.’
But the first issues Booker said she noticed with the two-story house were that the walls were not straight – which she said made it difficult to open and close doors.
‘And so we started asking the warranty team to come in and take a look at things,’ she recounted.
They then found even more issues – and their newly-built home by Pulte Homes of Texas has become a dangerous construction zone.
Drywall was removed, exposing beams throughout.
‘You walk in and you’re greeted by studs and drywall cut out,’ Booker told the local news station.
‘The more work that they’ve done the more issues that they’ve found,’ she added.

The last five years of Fay’s life I became a wound care expert and had to get real mean with a plethora of hospital and other types of nurses about how to dress any of her wounds. Her skin got so thin, sensitive and subject to tearing.
Ultimately all I could use was expensive, non-adhesive foam dressing and that cool, stretchy wrapping stuff. Her skin was a no-adhesives zone. A few nurses learned just how penetrating and loud my voice can be after they ignored me the first time.
I realize you cannot put in a stable IV or PICC line without adhesive tape, but there are techniques and certain tapes to minimize the damage.
-
Shannon, I believe that cool, stretchy wrapping stuff started out as Vet Wrap used by veterinarians. Our horse vets had used them for years for our horses as leg wraps over cotton wraps because they don’t peel off easily and are not easily chewed. And they are light but strong.
Now that people are using them, they come in a variety of sizes and colors that can match outfits people wear. No kidding, when the wrap is not covered by clothing.

The criminal trial has been on hold because the accused (SANTA FE) shooter, Dimitrios Pagourtzis, has been found incompetent to stand trial.
Incompetent? Have you read his statements that have been released, I said back when he did the deed that it was a set up, from the shooter right through the police. Here is a couple of his interview statements.
One journal entry presented by an attorney for the plaintiffs read, “I am so sick of being treated like a second class citizen. People treat me like I’m just some dumb animal they can mess without any repercussions. I’m tired of people treating me like some kind of lesser than and thinking they can get away with it. You people are playing with fire and are about to get burned.”
Another entry read, “You want a motive? How about because the idea of pumping my classmates full of buckshot and watching them writhe on the ground in agony like the vermin they are is an exhilarating thought.”
Those are the words of an “incompetent” young man?
BOVINE PROCESSED HAY. He is prolly visiting with Andrea Yates both knowing they got away with mass murder.-
SQK
My position is that the SOB is crazy as a loon.
But that shouldn’t prevent trial nor sentencing.
Unfortunately, Reagan didn’t chose me for the Supreme Court.-
Shanon
I am sure we are aiming at the same spot…… my word for that POS is EVIL.

I really wish I had known about this silicone tape and non-adhesive foaming dressing over the years, Nobody told me. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to conduct nurse’s aides or nurse tutorials on how to stabilize blood catheters or how to apply wound dressings.
Next time, I’m taking my own sterile stuff to the hospital.
I know not everybody reading this gets shot up like some old Civil War vet or Comanche Indian fighter, but some of us have more experience than others in this realm.

Here is a video of Biden appointing Kamala as ‘Border Czar’ or responsibilities to that effect. I didn’t think of it at the time, but the stupid masks make any video irrelevant as one can not see the lips moving; with AI, now any dialogue/statement one wished could be substituted for the genuine article and how would it be proved either way?

The stretchy medical wrap which we are discussing is properly called self-adherent wrap.
From experience I advise that you not buy the cheap stuff.
One of the best and original brands is
3M Coban.
Every home medical kit should have some./unpaid advocate.

This is similar to what I bought for NASA Sis.
https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71LTfRpK99L.jpgShe can reposition it if it feels like it’s pulling, but before I left, she seemed quite happy with it.
I tell ya’, the difference in her was night and day. Before, using the usual wound coverings from the hospital, she was utterly miserable, unable to stand upright, couldn’t laugh or cough well, and had problems changing position.
After I changed to this and the non-stick gauze pads, everything changed. She still has to be careful moving around, but that’s to be expected when sharp pokey things have been moving around inside her abdomen; but she can go from sitting to standing by herself. She was actually laughing, so happy about her improvement after the change. She couldn’t stop talking about it. I’m just glad I was able to find something to help her.
I made sure I made dinner and washed the dishes before I left, so she doesn’t have to stand up and do those things, though she was moving around quite well when I left.
I left my walker with her, just in case. Her son will be coming by tomorrow. She’s a bit of an introvert, so being around people is actually a strain on her. I left her so she could start getting back to her routine. That will help her start to feel better, too.
I am glad to be away from five cats, though. I like cats, but….

You’ll prolly be seeing some of these in the WIP.

yes, I know the building well.
It served as a “sort-of-museum” very well for a large part of my life.
Sadly, because of its unique location, there is no possible productive use of this historic building anymore.
If you don’t believe me, go see for yourself.

Dang I sure would like to have Big old cheeseburger right now. Where the bun was perfectly toasted, and the lettuce, tomatoes, and onions were ice-cold, and the meat was charred and still sizzling hot-as-hell.

Today is Aug 2.
So, what is your opinion on the viability of tamales from a highly respected source with a Best By Date of July 17?-
I’d eat it. What could go wrong?

Aaaaaaahahaaaaaaaa

Poor Super Dave
Even with a hurricane he just can’t get enough rain in LA.
You’re welcome to our share for the rest of the year….since we are already almost double our normal for a year, sir. -
By the way, Doc,
The thumb-sucking song was truly worthy and officially receives a coveted gold leaf Hammie Award statue.
