Excellent commentary on X by Kanekoa The Great:

Is Congress’s $17 million sexual misconduct hush money fund campaign finance violations?

Rep. Thomas Massie highlights that Congress’s hush money payments would be considered campaign finance violations under Alvin Bragg’s novel theory used to target President Trump.

“Congress has paid over $17 million in hush money for sexual misconduct inside of the offices in these buildings. And what’s more, is that it was taxpayer money. The allegation is that President Trump paid $130,000 of his own money.

But here in Congress, there might be some here on this dais who had the taxpayer pay for their sexual misconduct charges. And I do know that not a single penny of it has been turned in as a campaign finance expense.”

Former FEC Commissioner Trey Trainor explains that Alvin Bragg’s novel interpretation of the law does not align with “normal campaign finance law.”

Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey points out that the Trump verdict will likely be overturned after the 2024 election, citing constitutional violations, due process issues, and prosecutorial misconduct.

    To which @RepThomasMassie

responds, “The irony here is that this trial was all about trying to influence the [2024] election.”

Your morning read to make your coffee taste even better…

    I’m Your Huckleberry

Yo, you keffiyeh-wearing, anti-Semitic protesters holding hostages in college buildings, defacing monuments and private homes, and threatening people on public buses. Eighty-five years ago, your philosophical forebears got away with facilitating genocide because not enough people saw through their bullshit until it was too late. Unfortunately for you, that was then, and this is now. In the here and now, you mistakenly put way too much stock in how the media and academia think about and handle you with kid gloves, and not enough in what ordinary Americans think about and would handle you if you pulled your sh*t outside of safe progressive enclaves.

I triple-dog dare you to test this thesis. I’m your huckleberry, and I’m nowhere near the front of the line. Please, please, step onto the bus I’m riding and ask if there are any Zionists onboard. I’ll convert to Judaism on the spot. I’ve had about as much as I’m going to take from you clueless, morally-bereft, historically-challenged dipsh*ts. It’s time for a reality check.

Anyone making threats on behalf of a terrorist organization, Hamas, whose military tactics include targeting women and children and having over a million men identify as women and children to hide among them from the ass-whipping they’ve got coming, isn’t to be feared. Hamas should be mocked for the cowards that they are. That’s what I’m doing right now. You have a problem with that? I’m easy to find. Bring help.

I can’t find the words to describe how monumentally stupid this is…

A Pentagon-funded company is seeking proposals to feed America’s soldiers lab-grown meat in a bid to “reduce the CO2 footprint” at Defense Department outposts.

BioMADE, a public-private company that has received more than $500 million in funding from the Defense Department, announced earlier this month that it is seeking proposals to develop “innovations in food production that reduce the CO2 footprint of food production at … DoD operational environments,” according to an online announcement.

These include “novel cell culture methods suitable for the production of cultivated meat/protein,” or lab-grown meat, a product that is still in its experimental phases. This type of meat is grown in a lab from animal cells with the aid of other chemicals, and has emerged as a flashpoint in debates about the efficacy and morality of manufacturing meat products without slaughtering animals.

This is pretty stunning. Politico veers and almost sideswipes the Truth.

The Big Cheese is under constant public scrutiny, so he avoids saying or doing anything explicitly and obviously illegal, leaving that to his underlings.

This is (mostly) how Joe Biden works his crime family. He may occasionally say hello to his marks or make an introduction, but the orders, actions, and money are all done and gotten through others. The only thing you know for certain is that the Don lives high off the hog, with no apparent means of support aside from some nominal amount.

That is how Joe Biden’s crime family works.

POLITICO last week dropped a story that, without explicitly saying Biden was involved in influence peddling, described how Biden’s influence peddling family works

Donna Reed is nice, she’ll certainly do. OK I had to Log In, first time since I logged in on my Lap Top at the beach.
Yesterday day I whacked down 12 small pines and hauled them off, 9 of them were the ones that blew over in a storm and the rest were just in the way. If I live long enough I’ll take out the rest of them in that corner. The county picks up our brush on a semi-weekly basis and I put out almost all of the pines by about 2 PM but then I noticed the truck was picking up the pile so I hurried up to put what was in the Kubota on the pile. The black guy driving the truck said the he really appreciated the way I stacked the trees N limbs. Nice and tight and easy to pick in only a few passes. He said that most people just toss it out haphazardly and it’s hard to manage and requires lots of hand work.

    1. Super Dave Avatar
      Super Dave

I don’t really need a stump grinder since the stumps are in the woods or fields and I whack them off at ground level. Now that sawmill is another story, I’ve been researching that, (like I have the time). I’d use the sawmill only for cedar, oak and pecan, pretty hardwoods. I’d not waste my time on pine unless I needed a batch of wood to build something. As you know curing the pine boards is a pain in the,.. well you know. 😉

Hubby’s Uncle Bob showed up at MIL’s house down the street with his little sawmill in the back of his pickup. He spent 2 days trimming and milled a cypress tree that she’d had chopped down. He milled that tree into boards that later became wainscoting in his home.

Uncle Bob was one of those old coots that knew something about everything and could just about anything with anything. Hubby and I laughed often about how Uncle Bob was old when we met him, craggy face and slender build, and he never changed. Ancient and wise from the day we met.

There’s a funny story about him taking us to Caddo Lake, where Handsome Son got his first fishing experience and chewed out the fish for “not being fair”. That was the only time I saw Uncle Bob laugh, hiding it behind his hand. But I saw his shoulders shaking. He was so patient with Handsome, and surprisingly, Handsome was able to cast with an open reel after only a few tries.

When Uncle Bob died, I took Handsome and Lovely for a trip to see Aunt Doodle. Handsome Son insisted on seeing Uncle Bob’s grave, which surprised me since he’d only seen Uncle Bob once or twice in his short seven years. Handsome and I were alone at Uncle Bob’s grave, so I was the only one who witnessed Handsome Son’s tear jerking visit. He got down on his knees next to the sandy mound that marked Uncle Bob’s resting place, drew a heart in the sand, kissed it and put his cheek in the dirt (getting sand all in his face), crying and saying over and over “I wuv oo Uncle Bob”.

I’m weeping now, just remembering it.

Four years ago in June of 2020, Joe Biden was leading Donald Trump in the average of national polls by a margin of +8.4 points. This month, June 2024, Donald Trump is leading by +1.0 points, but winning much bigger in all the battleground and key states.

Fani’s problems are a lot bigger than her fake charges against Donald Trump. Ex party communications between a judge, prosecutor and witness in a criminal trial may get the judge and Fani disbarred. Unbelievable.

A private meeting between Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis‘ office and the judge overseeing the Young Slime Life trial was revealed after one of the defense attorneys disclosed that the parties had met with a witness without telling the defendants and their lawyers.

In 2022, rapper Young Thug and 27 others were indicted by Willis in a sweeping Georgia racketeering case for alleged crimes connected to the street gang Young Slime Life. The trial, which has spanned more than six months, has made headlines for a series of controversial moments, including shouting matches between the judge and prosecutors.

Brian Steel, the attorney for Young Thug, said that Fulton County prosecutor Adriane Love and Judge Ural Glanville told the witness, Lil Woody, whose real name is Kenneth Copeland, that he could be held in jail for the remainder of the trial and that those conditions could be true for all 28 defendants in the case.

“If that’s true, what this is is coercion, witness intimidation, ex parte communications that we have a constitutional right to be present for,” Steel told the judge on Monday.

    1. Bonecrusher Avatar
      Bonecrusher

Judge Urinal Glanville, Fat Fanny Willis, her lover, Judge Juan Merchan, Arthur Engoron, et al, should all be disbarred for flagrant judicial misconduct and serial Constitutional violations.
Severely punish the lawbreakers under clear statutory law and perhaps the rest of the vermin, devil worshipping left will curtail their collective misbehavior.

    Bones – re the teeth:

missing at least four teeth due to congenital tooth deficiency

That would definitely be me. Strange that I’ve never heard the term “congenital tooth deficiency” before; I guess it usually gets overwhelmed by the “retained baby teeth” issue.

As far as the 1% number – the dentist who had the dubious honor of pulling the first baby tooth back in college said that the RBT condition was becoming “more common”.

It’s a wonder that they can ‘regenerate’ teeth that were never there….I wonder if the treatment picks up on dormant tooth buds in the bone? I’ve seen a wisdom tooth bud floating high up in my jaw on some x-rays, and it was just too lazy to face the world. Other places, the tooth just never showed up to work at all. I can see where an adult tooth can be generated from the RBT sites, since there was obviously an active tooth bud there at some point, before it fell asleep and never woke up.

    Interesting.

While I’m waiting for Quickbooks to load:

One of my Latin classmates never talks during the Zoom sessions. I’ll call her “Joan”. I’ve never heard her voice, though she responds with chats and participates that way. She popped up last night with mention that the Museum of Fine Arts is having an autumn event that includes a huge Benedectine cross and some other exhibits with Latin on them. Magister was very excited about having a field trip to the exhibit, and Joan said she could get us all passes. It’ll be nice to see each other in person.

Magister jokingly made reference to us bringing our rosaries to the museum.

Joan: “Those godless heathens that work there would break out in hives.”
    /all chuckle/
Me: “I have a whole bag of giveaway rosaries. We could hand them out while we’re there.”
Magister: “That would drive them nuts.”
Joan: “If you made rainbow rosaries, they’d give them them their own exhibit.”
    Me: “Well, that ain’t happenin’!”
    /all chuckle again/

So, if you hear of a fracas at the MFAH sometime in the fall, just know it’s me spreading God around.

    Well, what a shocker! /not/

The UK Daily Mail ran a painful story yesterday headlined, “Dr. Anthony Fauci’s department hid plans to create mutant monkeypox virus that ‘could’ve started pandemic,’ bombshell Congress report finds.” What else should they have done with their Bond-villain-style plans to create a mutant monkeypox virus?

    ***

This week, following a painful 1.5-year probe, the House Energy and Commerce Committee released its aching results: the HHS, NIAID and the NIH repeatedly “obstructed and misled the committee” about whether the risky experiments were approved and actually carried out, describing the agency’s deceptive lack of cooperation with the probe as “unacceptable and potentially criminal.”

Keep things in perspective. It’s not like a brand-new, never-before-seen version of the virus popped up simultaneously in ten different cities worldwide seven years after the NIH experiments started or anything. Oh, wait. Nevermind.

    Of course there’s more….

On to government unofficially sanctioned violations of 1A:

Yesterday, Platformer ran a terrific but widely-ignored story headlined, “The Stanford Internet Observatory is being dismantled.” And good riddance! They won’t stop trying, of course, but at least one six-legged, insectile group of crypto-fascists has been squashed.

    ***

Academic snitches get legal stitches. After the Twitter files exposed the SIO’s role in censoring Americans, at least three groups of plaintiffs have sued Stanford, alleging its researchers illegally colluded with the federal government to censor speech. And the House Committee on Weaponization of the Federal Government is currently investigating the Orwellian research group.

But there is less and less to investigate. Apparently, too much transparency has been forced onto the high-minded enterprise. Internal sources told reporters the ‘lab’ will not be researching the 2024 election, or any future election, for that matter.

Sooo….once busted, they’ll close because they don’t like being watched doing the dirty. But wait! Are they really closing up shop?

Apparently also tracking a culture of secrecy and obfuscation, plus lying, Stanford hotly disputes that the SIO is being dismantled. “The important work of SIO continues under new leadership, including its critical work on child safety and other online harms, its publication of the Journal of Online Trust and Safety, the Trust and Safety Research Conference, and the Trust and Safety Teaching Consortium,” a spokesperson wrote.

It’s like the Acorn scandal. Once exposed, Acorn shuttered it’s doors, but then reopened under new names.

Supreme Court strikes down federal ban on bump stocks. In a 6-3 decision, the Supreme Court struck down a federal ban on bump stock accessories on firearms.

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that a bump stock does not transform a firearm into an automatic weapon, striking down a federal rule that banned bump stocks.

In a 6-3 decision, Justice Clarence Thomas wrote, “Congress has long restricted access to “‘machinegun[s],’” a category of firearms defined by the ability to “shoot, automatically more than one shot … by a single function of the trigger.”

“Semiautomatic firearms, which require shooters to reengage the trigger for every shot, are not machineguns. This case asks whether a bump stock — an accessory for a semi-automatic rifle that allows the shooter to rapidly reengage the trigger (and therefore achieve a high rate of fire) — converts the rifle into a ‘machinegun.’ We hold that it does not,” he wrote.

The case, Garland v. Cargill, asked the court whether a “bump stock” device is a “machine gun” as defined by federal law because it is designed and intended for use in converting a rifle into a weapon that fires “automatically more than one shot … by a single function of the trigger.”

The high court’s majority found that the statutory definition of a “machinegun” is any weapon capable of firing “automatically more than one shot … by a single function of the trigger.”

“We hold that a semiautomatic rifle equipped with a bump stock is not a ‘machinegun’ because it cannot fire more than one shot ‘by a single function of the trigger.’ And, even if it could, it would not do so ‘automatically,’” Thomas wrote.

“ATF therefore exceeded its statutory authority by issuing a Rule that classifies bump stocks as machineguns,” he said.

As expected there was much Gnashing of Teeth and pulling of hair after this verdict. 😉
