That is, until the government figures out how to take them.  But that many guns, and now with that many gangs (with their uncounted guns), that task may prove to be difficult.

But there may be some states that could be invaded.  I believe they are usually colored blue.

I’m watching the CBS re-run of Willie’s 90th Birthday Party at the Hollywood Bowl.
Mickey Raphael is 72 years old, doesn’t look a day over 50 and looks like he could still easily dispatch anyone that approached Willie with evil intent. I’ve always assumed he’s been the bodyguard all these years.

All artificial intelligence is going to do is reduce all government, professional and commercial communications down to a level of mediocrity unimagined by humanity before. The only way AI takes over is to make people so stupid they can’t even feed or dress themselves.

I’ve decided I already have enough to worry about.
When the AI monster destroys the world, I’ll worry about it then.
Or not.

I just dropped a cracker with a big ‘ol gob of peanut butter on the top of my bare foot. Butter side down, of course.

I was laughing, thinking about how much fun Max would have if he was here.

The promise of some decent weather did not materialize late this afternoon. No rain except for a small amount of drops on the sidewalk that are already long gone. Humidity was not bad though when I marched out to the mailbox a few minutes ago. And the mail wasn’t limp. Now the contents of same were limp enough to discard.… Read more »

Sooner or later Time wounds all Heels when they least expect it. Judge Merchan is no exception.

Judge Juan Merchan should be disbarred and banished from the bench forever for his flagrant misbehavior in the Trump trial.

The low humidity is back so it was downright nice on the front porch this afternoon. I little bit ago my weather station said it was 85 but feels like 82. 48 % humidity.

We were outside, and it was bright sunny with fluffy white clouds here and there… I came inside to slice a ‘mater to go on the burgers Squawk is gonna grill – when I turned around and looked out the front windows (which face northwest) and it’s gotten several shades darker in the 2-3 minutes I was messing with the… Read more »

Clouds have been slowly gathering for several hours, and just now there was a loud thunderclap close by (loud enough to be overhead). Somebody around here will get some rain. It seems to be the calm before the storm. Purrscilla is under the bed and might miss dinner. Fortunately the folks doing yard work are just about finished. Hope they… Read more »

CNN at the Freakout ! “Look, if you look at 2024, Biden still leads among black voters over Donald Trump, 69% in an average of polls,” Enten said. “But look at this number for Donald Trump: 22%. Where was Donald Trump at this point? Four years ago in the poll, he was just at 9% of the vote.” “So he’s seen… Read more »

Speaking of rosaries. Went to one last night for a friend of Yellow Hair’s family since way back.

It was very nice until this nekkid guy busted in and started running all around the chapel. It took a while, but they finally caught him by the organ.

The entire idea of putting in a pier was stupid to begin with. Because Hamas thugs and thieves eventually take control of all of the humanitarian aid and the vast majority of it never reaches those for whom it was intended. A very expensive Biden vanity project.

Regular fans of Dr. Sal Mercogliano have seen at least four videos about this pier system, dating back to when it was announced in March at the State Of The Union address. It is the fault of military brass that this pier system was installed in sea conditions well beyond its design capabilities. The system is designed to be used… Read more »

You are correct about Republican turnout failures. They should’ve easily overcome a few hundred Democrats voting. But take a look at the Ballotpedia page for Phelan’s House District 21. Scroll down to Campaign Contributions and look how Phelan received almost $16 million for 3 races when he was unopposed in 2018, 2020 and 2022. Being Speaker pays well.

There are plenty of Jordanian, Syrian and Lebanese muslims living in Mexico plus the home-grown communists. Pro-Hamas rioters on Tuesday set fire to the Israeli embassy in Mexico during a protest ostensibly against the Israeli military operation in the southern Gazan city of Rafah.Masked protesters threw stones at security personnel who had created a barricade preventing access to the diplomatic… Read more »

DADE FAILIN won because the Republicans are the worst in turning out their supporters.  Phelan won by 366 votes, according to unofficial returns. DADE PHELAN (R)* 51% 12,813 DAVID COVEY (R) 49% 12,447 These elections are notorious for low turn outs. Covey did not put together the machine he needed to win. Facts about Gaza. The western media love to portray Gaza as this hellhole of millions of devastatingly poor people crammed into tiny places living like inmates in a prison. Here are some population densities: Gaza Strip – 5,853 people per square mile Manhattan County – 70,826 per square mile Bronx County – 35,000+ per square mile Houston – 3,600 per… Read more »

Texas has had Open Primaries since I have been voting. Any voter can vote in any Primary, but can only vote in one, either the Dem or Repub. When Texas Republicans allow year in and year out their primaries to be open to any registered voter, Democrats are going to crossover and poison key battles at the primary ballot box. That is how a Dade Phelan wins in a runoff. Close the damned primaries !

I am so confused:
Why is it illegal to park in a handicapped parking space but its ok to use a handicapped toilet?
Why do you put two cents in when its only a penny for your thoughts?
Why do sleeping pills have warning labels that state :’Caution: May Cause Drowsiness?
Can Bald people have Hairline fractures?

They have been doing diesel – electric locomotives and ships for quite some time: it is a tried and tested technology and it simply works. We could do the same thing for passenger vehicles and eliminate the transmission completely. Imagine the rough equivalent of a continuously variable transmission that can handle 700ft-lbs of torque. . .It would change everything. In… Read more »

Republican Texas State House Speaker Dade Phelan narrowly survived a primary runoff election against Trump-backed candidate David Covey

Welp this is moving to the top of my list why I have given up on politics. Proof once more that there are more stupid people in this country than people with smarts.

9:10 texpat I think Toyota, et al.’s approach is sound. They have been near the front on hybrid technology and seem to have gotten many of the problems ironed out. Shannon seems to like his. Steve Milloy says it is all Junk Science. It is politics, not science, designed to make people terrified of nuclear energy. What if the public’s fears about common exposures to radiation were not only baseless, but the product of epic science fraud? And what if the people we have trusted with setting radiation safety standards have knowingly suppressed that reality… Read more »
