I finally got around to making today’s rosary, and I think I have time to weigh my shrimp one more time before going to bed. I have to be up early for mass and First Saturday devotions, and the meds and the hip make getting up early…..challenging. I found out today that Fr. Mitch Pacwa will be speaking at our… Read more »
We’ve gotten 17/100 of rain today, quite enough to keep everything watered well. It can stop anytime now. As I recall, we had a bit over 40″ here from Harvey. That was one nightmare I hope we never have again.
Harvey dumped a minimum of 40 inches of rain in four days across SE Texas. Unless you were unlucky enough to be in those areas that got over 60 inches, as they did in Nederland. There has never been a rain event like that in my lifetime in this area. No one in this area has received anything close to… Read more »
The TV folks keep trying to assure the audience that this rainy period is not like Harvey, but today it sure looks like Harvey’s twin brother. The pictures of flooding in neighborhoods look just like the flooded neighborhoods from Harvey near us, and our 2″ inside our house–the only house in our subdivision flooded. All the homes in our neighboring… Read more »
I had a meeting with Fr. Felix’s Rosary Center group today. One of the things I brought with me was a sign to go out at tomorrow morning’s First Saturday mass, to be set out with some rosaries for those who don’t have their own. “How many rosaries should I put out?” I asked Father. “Oh, about 15 or 20,”… Read more »
Bones It was an incredible concert. The Paramount Theater restoration is magnificent. Texpat and I wanted to hug the sound men. Texpat made a point to thank them. The sound was perfect. The vocals weren’t drowned out by the instruments and bass, as so often happens in live shows. I haven’t enjoyed a concert so much in a long time.… Read more »
Hmm, the Feds are now messing with Texas’ Democrat representatives. They apparently do not comprehend that Texas is The Giant among the states, nor that there is previous experience with being a Republic… 🙂
A late Good Morning to y’all, It is wet from overnight, wet from this morning’s rain, likely wet and gloomy all day. Wind has died down to a whisper from what it was yesterday and overnight, and perhaps that means we are working our way out of this gloom and wetness. Squirrels around here are busy taking samples of the… Read more »
Childers gives his review of the Trump case. Excerpt: The sordid picture that emerged between the two scheming lawyers’ testimony seems more than anything to help President Trump, who is starting to look more and more like the victim of a con rather than a presidential criminal meriting historic prosecution. For example, one of Cohen’s secret recordings played for the… Read more »
I was up late and then took my meds. That means I got up late and I haven’t even TRIED to tackle the hair yet. I look like a cartoon character, but I’m finishing my coffee before I gear up for that task. I haven’t done my rosary time yet, since I have a meeting with Fr. Felix re the… Read more »
Woman: “Oh, stewardess! I speak jive.” The Stewardess: “Oh, good.” 😀 I love it when serious actors/actresses take goofy parts. “You can tell me I’m a doctor”….. The part of the Jive Lady in “Airplane!” was originally intended for Harriet Nelson, who had played the mother in the 1950s sitcom “The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet.” She turned it down… Read more »
I had mentioned cutting up the big red Oak that fell across the dam of the little pond and my wife asked me how old did I think it was. Well the pond was dammed up in 1966 and since it was 15′ from the back side of the dam, I figured it grew up after the pond was made.… Read more »
Well dang a Blonde Friday, wife and daughter are blondes, well my wife’s hair started turning darker in her 30’s-40’s but daughter still has platinum blonde hair. So Shannon what was the concert? If you mentioned it I missed it. Glad y’all are having a nice visit.

The glorious HEB has yet to venture out of Texas, so my people must make do with lesser grocery stores or their own foraging.
Is that a HEB on the reservation?

h/t CFP: DOJ goes after Dem. Henry Cuellar
IIRC, Cuellar was one of the few Dems who stood up against BidenCo’s open borders.
It was only a matter of time. Political enemies/resistance must be crushed.
