Weather folks in the upper Midwest say that Minnesota and Wisconsin tomorrow will have a return of the nasty dead of winter. Such a return always happens up there in March or rarely in early April. Batten down the hatches for sure. Such weather can virtually paralyze the state if a freezing blizzard covers the state. Woe to anyone who already planted a garden.

We must contact spouse’s brother to check on them and their very ill dog Ozzie.

I noted that the Pope dispensed with his Palm Sunday sermon today.

Sounds pretty good Grampa.
I’mnot sure what I ate for supper. But I’m certain that I ate quite early.
And just woke up from a 3.5 hour nap..

Glad to have the front lawn looking nice, though.

Hey Grampaw what’s fer supper? Well I put a little 4 Lb beef roast in the Crock Pot about 8:00 this morning and at supper time I fixed some rice, butter beans, mixed veggie’s and brown gravy using the broth. Warmed up some of those Hawaiian rolls in the oven and dang we ate good. Oh and believe it or not that was plenty of food for the two of us.comment image I/we do love leftovers.

I was actually able to nap! It’s a miracle!

Of course, I almost destroyed the world by creating/finding a new, highly explosive substance called “bracchium”. It seems my Latin class is invading my dreams.

The back brace came in handy. Standing in line for confession and then for the long gospel would have been extremely uncomfortable otherwise. A gentleman found me a chair to sit in while in the confession line. There are just some really thoughtful folks in this world.

I just returned from Mass. Today is a long mass because the Passion is recited and there’s a palms procession before. I managed to deliver the repaired rosary before and asparagus bean seeds to the cute kids I hug after.

I told hubby not to call me for a while. He understands.

We’ve been out visiting the neighbors. Sister came over so we all loaded up, (including Dawg) in the Kubota SXS and headed over to Agnes lane. When we got near the end, the house up on the hill, the folks were out working so we stopped and chatted. We’d not met them before since they’ve only been there for a couple of years. The daughter inherited the place (25 acres and house) after her daddy died. But we never met him. On the way back we saw David that lives in the converted Army barracks and talked to him about… Read more »

I’ve seen TX Burger joints all over for many years but to my recollection, I’ve never been in one. Yesterday on the trip up we stopped at the one in Centerville, pretty good old fashioned burger. This one had a mural on the wall with Nolan Ryan clutching Robin Ventura in a head lock beating the crap out of him. 😛

Back home from Ennis, we stayed in a hotel in Corsicana last night. Forty six race cars showed up last night, to get it whittled down to twenty five in the A-main we had two B-mains, had to finish 12th or better to move on but didn’t make the cut. Did pass some cars and had fun, that’s the main thing.

Sasquatch? Sasquatch?? Dang Super Dave I thought we was buddies! 😀 I have no idea what I was doing but the camera caught me at the wrong time lol. My boyhood best friend did come out to watch us last night at Big O Speedway near Ennis. We’ve not seen or been in touch with each other since we were eleven years old. I found him on Facebook last year, our dads raced stock cars together. Was strange looking at an older man with the same boyhood face, I’d have recognized him on the street. All these fake mocking bird media polls coming out saying the wooden dummy leads or the lead for Trump is razor thin are just put out to condition the masses to except another steal which is most likely already being printed up.

just like the 1400 page CTWTN bill was sitting on ice until it was needed last Thursday morning @3:00am.

notice they dumped that bill close to the same time all the magical votes for the wooden dummy started to appear in the 2020 steal?.

Note to the groupofCons party.

you have to read a continuing to wreck the nation bill to know what’s in the continuing to wreck the nation bill.

I do not approve of this, but I do understand the temptation.

An argument between a Florida couple about their differing political views turned violent Wednesday, investigators said.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office was called to a home in North Fort Meyers after a 70-year-old man allegedly grabbed his fiancé’s neck and squeezed, an affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital states.

The woman, a “Democrat,” called for help, investigators said.

She (and the fiancé) had been fighting throughout the day and argued over politics because John was a Republican,” the affidavit said. “During the verbal argument, (he) began calling her a Democrat and other names.”

Today is the Jewish holiday of Purim and the celebration of Queen Esther. A story of the Emancipation Proclamation: “Set during the reign of the Persian Emperor Ahasuerus — known in the Greek historical tradition as Xerxes — the Book of Esther narrates an attempt by Ahasuerus’s viceroy, Haman, to exterminate the Jewish people,” said Lamm.  and, “About two weeks before publishing a preliminary draft of the Emancipation Proclamation on Sept. 22, 1862, President Abraham Lincoln met with nationally prominent abolitionist Rev. William Weston Patton,” said Lamm.During the summer, Lincoln expressed a desire to emancipate the slaves in the South, but… Read more »

You’ve got to hand it to old James. If he were running the Democratic Party, there never would have been a Biden or Harris. Excellent read. “It’s a giant, stupid argument,” he said. Later on in the interview, Carville diagnosed where much of this attitude is coming from.“A suspicion of mine is that there are too many preachy females,” he said, before characterizing them as killjoys. “’Don’t drink beer. Don’t watch football. Don’t eat hamburgers. This is not good for you.’”He continued: “The message is too feminine: ‘Everything you’re doing is destroying the planet. You’ve got to eat your peas.’”Carville also… Read more »

Waiting for Hubby to join me for breakfast. Gonna be a long day. Did you know there’s a mediocre Western that comes on at 4:00 a.m. called “Restless Gun”? This is after I tried ocean noises and praying a rosary. I put the sleep timer on my TV and hoped for the best. It was about 5:30 before I think I fell asleep. My eyes are already burning. About 3:00 I felt a big pop in my hip as I rolled over. I was excited, thinking maybe the pain was going to lessen. A half hour later I discovered I… Read more »

Yesterday I was feeding the hens and when I went into the chicken house a Carolina Wren shot out past my head and then I noticed that she had made her nest in one of the hen’s nesting boxes. I counted 4 eggs in there and I hope she makes it, but last year a chicken snake broke up her nest and ate the eggs. FWIW; I no longer give quarter to chicken snakes, I used to catch them and relocated them but they’re too plentiful and are rough on the birds. A few years ago we had a Wren… Read more »

Okay. I will stipulate that I might have seen some of it. But if so, it wasn’t memorable.
