Ina Rosenberg Balin, American actress
She played opposite such leading men as John Wayne, Paul Newman, Stuart Whitman, Elvis Presley, and Ben Gazarra.
A regular on the USO circuit during the Vietnam War, during the fall of Saigon she helped spirit away 217 orphans on a plane to the Phillipines. And ended up adopting three of them.
and in this case she also recognizes musical genius when she sees and hears it.
The Who were just bada$$ musical phenoms in every way.
Well we did Disneyland and I’m plum wore out but the after dark roller coaster ride with oldest granddaughter was well worth it. It’s 9:30 here and we’re looking at the pictures we took today and since it’s after 11 there I’ll have a full report in the morning.
Nytol 😉

She is surprisingly irresistible.
🙂
Sounds like me at rehearsal…
Can we do it in D????
As 0f 20:22, this little cold snap has not arrived in glorious Austin County.
Yet.
you better talk to Jersey boss man Stan about that.
Here’s a tune for you.
Waiting to see if it goes viral.
yo uncklus
she would’ve been a WHO groupie if she was the age she is now back when this was filmed.
she loves Daltry.

Life Without You
Blue Bloods will live forever on Pluto TV.
Just ask Hubby.
There’re about fifteen characters in that show whom I will miss.
I’m also not happy that I am watching the beginning of the end of Blue Bloods.
Texpat, we took a road trip tp Maine with Squawk’s parents once… Saw lots of sites – and had dinner at 4:30 almost every nite – and we were hungry again at 9… LOL
Somebody Pick Up My Pieces
We sympathetic, forgetful old people run this world and don’t you whippersnappers forget it.
Oh, wait.
We went to have a birthday dinner with old friends tonight. The wife has turned 77 and we were going to meet at the local, popular new Italian place at 5:15 because we would beat the evening crowd. We showed up and the place was packed with old people. It wasn’t even dark outside. We had to wait for 30… Read more »
Catching up this evening with the gang. Have been putting things back where they belong in the house after our kinfolk headed for home on Wednesday. Then there is the hunt for a few items I had moved elsewhere to make room. Found most of those and put them back this afternoon. We’re thinking about going to see the kin… Read more »
Laura Dern, pushing 60.
/ insert thumbs up here
Now Dr. phil has more ammunition for his insensitive everyone-around-this-blog-are-a- buncha-geezers who can’t stay awake past nine memes.
🙂
Bite me, Dr Phil. We are survivors.
I’m getting really tired of all these people getting old.
No, wait.
You claim Laura is 57 years old?
32
LOL
Bruce’s daughter, Laura Dern, is 57 years old ?!?!
I thought she was some actress in her twenties.
What the hell happened ?
30 GJT
Uh oh.
Hope he can handle life in the fast lane with the dignity he has otherwise displayed.
Not easy at 22 years old. Whew.
Dern was one of the best portrayers of menace.
31
Now that’s a helluva quote.
Now I gotta go look around to find out about Dern’s non-rodeo life.
He’s been acting since 1960. He’s still hanging around at 87.
What a career.
Will Chamberlain, attorney and legal counsel for the Internet Accountability Project and the Article3project.com on TwitterX:
Me, too, dammit.
Glad that I never got around to searching the net today for everything known about Dern’s rodeo career.
I don’t know who Amber Rose is but sounds like she got herself a new boytoy.

#27 I am not sure whether your sentence was confusing or not… And now I am disappointed to find that Bruce Dern was NOT a rodeo champion LOL
Be sure to watch the short video at the end. Have you noticed yet that America has turned into a Coen Brothers movie? Everywhere you look, you see madcap characters disgracing themselves while doing their bit to burn the whole country down. It’s a panoramic extravaganza of everything gone wrong, with slapstick overtones, driving toward an apocalyptic climax — civil… Read more »
We’re going to try and see American Fiction in the next couple of days. It is about a black writer who runs head-on into white, leftwing women in the publishing industry who want him to be “authentically” black. It is supposed to be funny and hurl plenty of mockery at the Left. Conservative writers I have read who saw it… Read more »

I may have written the sentence in a confusing way, but the rodeo reference was to Casey Tibbs. He was a huge rodeo champ and I remember seeing him at HLS&R as a boy.
That must be one thick cord, that folks keep tripping over it!
Thanks, Squawk.
Bruce Dern and rodeo in the same sentence – who knew????
Okay, I was looking at the IMDB page for Shannon’s Brunette, Ina Balin, when I came across this. Who here remembers Stoney Burke with Jack Lord and Warren Oates in 1962 and 1963 ? Bruce Dern was a minor, unknown character actor and the first rodeo champion to become a national celebrity, Casey Tibbs, both appeared on the show. Hal… Read more »
The Fani Willis/Natan Wade courtroom comedy show is probably the number one show on TV right now. Her Highness is fascinated with this meltdown although the only time I’ve watched was stopping while walking through the room where she is watching. Childers does a good job reviewing the whole drama for anyone who has been living in a cave and… Read more »
Morning, gang! Looks like a rainy day at my place. That’s Ok with me, I had no outdoor plans anyway.
I made two rosaries and one chaplet this morning. My rosary stash is low, after giving most of them away to the pregnant women and then the two purse rosaries to the young men at the store yesterday. I told Hubby I think I’m making a dent in my bead pile. I still have a lot of them waiting to… Read more »
Mr. C. has amusing insights into the train wreck that is Fani Willis. Being a lawyer himself, you can imagine his take on her behavior on the stand.
Whenever I think of Klaus Schwab Blofeld this scene always comes to mind.

The term Idiotocracy comes to mind when reading about #16 above. I think it properly describes about 80% of the Deep State.
I have to tell you. I almost laughed at the shocking stupidity of this woman and the amazing hubris of some criminal to run a huge scam on a high-profile “financial advisor”. This is analogous to all the so-called experts in America today. Most of them are morons or frauds. A financial advice columnist for New York Magazine admitted she… Read more »
Shannon said he went to Mike Satterwhite’s funeral yesterday. I knew Mike for 58 years since I was 14 and he was 16 at Spring Branch High School. We were FFA boys together under John Cooper. Mike was a fine horseman and worked as a jockey in the Quarter horse racing program on the King Ranch while he was attending… Read more »
Have fun with your family, Super Dave. It’s always a privilege.
It’s fun watching oldest granddaughter get her waffles out of the freezer, climb up on the counter, plug in the toaster and toast her breakfast. 😉
