A chilly 43 here with rain expected tonight and serious thunder boomers before daylight Tuesday. The local Weather Guessers are all atwitter, hopping that we’ll all be killed in a Tarn-ado. Also watching the local news they had a clip of the Golden Globe Awards and it dawned on me that I’ve never seen ANY of the winning actors and not heard of any of the movies. It’s kind of sad to me that the producers refuse to produce any decent movies that I might like to watch. Even if they had a good movie they ruin it by putting Wokeness in every damn one.

Well I’m just checking in and heading to get my third and last Cup O Joe before I Kick Start the day.

#2 Bones, the local news has a commercial highlighting their Weather Guesser and it starts out with him coming out a burger joint with a burger box and he sits on a bench then a big young black dude sits down beside him to talk about the weather, next a young white Redneck sits down holding his obviously Biracial 2 YO daughter on his knee. The commercial ends with a gay couple, one white and one black female couple watching Mr Weather Guy on TV.   SMDH!!!  AND THIS IS SOUTH ALABAMA!!!!!!!

I guess that y’all have caught up with Boeing 737 story. It’s not nearly as bad as it seems, while it was a serious event, it’s not like it was a structural failure. This particular 737 had a “Door Plug” installed where an extra door could be added and the plug wasn’t to be removed except at inspection. Obviously it wasn’t secured properly when installed the last time.

I will start with an amusing excerpt from Saturday C&C, re the report on methane percolating up from underneath glaciers.  Of course, the hyperactive global warmongers are going berserk, but Mr. C. responds with his usual wit:

Skyrocketing Emissions! This is a crisis. They should declare a state of emergency and make it illegal for the glaciers to emit any more methane. Maybe we could airdrop some Bean-o using those planes that dump water on wildfires, or put they can put a giant cork in the glaciers’ backsides or something. Or maybe we can start taxing the glaciers.

I do like “migrating methane” as a neat euphemism though. I’ll try it out on Michelle next time she complains about the boys on a road trip. That methane needs to migrate somewhere.

    BUCKLE UP, BUTTERCUP ☙ Monday, January 8, 2024 ☙ C&C NEWS

Good morning, C&C, it’s Monday! It is officially the second week of 2024, a year almost nobody expects to be boring. The first week of 2024 started explosively, as today’s roundup will prove. Are you ready? Today’s roundup includes: an update from the explosive Alaska Airlines travel story; Trump’s explosive election fraud summary lands silently in a quiet forest of media malpractice; outside the US, more professionals start talking about jab problems; Judicial Watch sues the federal government over Ashli Babbit’s murder; and the Golden Globes rubs elite faces in their own reprehensible lifestyles, again.

    NEWS:

I mentioned the Trump election fraud report here when it was released recently:

It is perhaps a sign of the times that last week on January 2nd, without fanfare or much comment, President Trump issued a 32-page “Summary of 2020 Election Fraud” covering “swing states” Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, and Michigan.

The Summary was carefully designed to prove beyond argument that there was enough fraud in 2020 to change the outcome of the election, which is the legal standard for bringing a case. The problem of course is that election challenge cases must be filed in an insanely-short period of time, like ten days.

Mr. C. opines that it’s for stability reasons – we need to know who’s in charge.  I guess I can see that, because a longer time frame could be used by the left to never end their charges and destabilize support for the government in place – but they do that already, so what is the solution?  Bush was hammered for years about being an illegitimate president, Trump never ceased being attacked…and so on and so on and so on.

Ten days is insane.  I say move the inauguration back to the spring, where it used to be; lock down legislation between the election day and inauguration, except for housekeeping functions like budgeting or emergencies (but then, everything will be labeled an emergency), or for resolutions or naming of public buildings.  A lot of bad legislation can be pushed through with that much time.  But back to the report:

Notwithstanding that it’s far too late to file suit, over the last three years Corporate Media built election denialism into a thought crime even more perfidious than science denialism, if that’s possible. So the Introduction’s very first two sentences appear custom designed to trigger democrats:

It has often been repeated there is “no evidence” of fraud in the 2020 Election. In actuality, there is no evidence Joe Biden won.

Haha! They turned the “no evidence” gag right around on the media! I loved it.

You would think the media’s peals of protest would be loud enough to wake the alien diplomats on the International Space Station. After all, the Summary confirms everything the democrats have long complained about Trump’s state of mind: in black and white, Trump denied the election and said that Joe Biden is an illegitimate president….

But no. Surprisingly, the democrats weren’t triggered. Nor were RINOs or Never Trumpers. In fact, six days later there seems to be a total media blackout on the story. They aren’t even writing ‘fact-checks’ or op-eds about it:

If you can’t debunk it, ignore it or ridicule it.  Fact checks won’t work here, because the facts aren’t in their favor and can’t be glossed over.

Here’s how the Summary’s Introduction described the election, if you can call it that:

Republican poll watchers were denied access to the counting in multiple jurisdictions and ballots were counted in secret in the middle of the night without media or observers present. Countless irregularities emerged, including reports of ineligible voters, voting machine anomalies, “water main breaks,” improbable percentages of ballots for Biden, and more.
Since, investigations across the country have uncovered an avalanche of irregularities, unlawful activity, manipulation of election records, destruction of evidence, and fraud. The findings, which are outcome determinative, are detailed in these summaries of the Swing States.

The Summary is written in lay English, without awkward legal terms of art and having its citations to sources down in the footnotes. It is easy to read. In other words, it was designed for all of us.  I don’t often suggest reading something, but this Summary is important, regardless of your preferred nominee. It’s a relatively quick, easy read. Consider it a core part of civics education.

Mr. C. considers the timing.  I had this same discussion with Hubby – this information was available, so why wait until now to release the report?  We figgered someone has calculated the election timing factor.

Next, a video clip of a former WHO doctor discussing the rather distressing effects of the jab.

    https://x.com/_aussie17/status/1744126765214372217?s=20

Dr. Ali described hearing about vaccine regret from patients, the baffling outbreak of atypical sudden deaths, increasing cancer rates, and the growing cohort of ‘quiet disability’ resulting from vaccine injuries:

“These people often feel tired after the vaccine. For example, after they get the vaccine, they can’t lift their hand. These are not recorded most of the time. The second thing is people who have side effects they have not reported yet. Maybe ten years later, then only the thing is expressed.”

    Heads should roll!

A discussion of Judicial Watch’s $30M lawsuit against the government on behalf of Ashley Babbitt’s estate, since Mrs. Babbitt cannot be here to fight for herself any more.  If you recall, hers was the only death that occurred on J6, at the hands of a later vindicated black cop in the capitol building.

    Bring on the discovery!

… it took heroic effort to pry Ashli’s shooter’s name out of the government: Lt. Michael Byrd, a black Capitol Police commander and the incident commander for the House on January 6th.

Again, the timing is fascinating. Discovery in the case will be off the chain. It’s difficult to understate how potentially explosive this case could be. The government can’t afford to settle, so — assuming Tom Fitton’s team can survive dismissal and summary judgment — this lawsuit is going to trial.

Not enough popcorn in. the. world.

Interesting, since “Sound of Freedom” was recently released for streaming!  (I repeat myself – if you haven’t seen it yet – do so now!)

Yesterday TMZ ran a story headlined “Jim Gaffigan Cracks ‘Pedophile’ Joke During Golden Globes.” Comedian Jim Gaffigan ruffled a few feathers at the Golden Globes yesterday when he cracked a joke about not being sure he deserved to be there since he’s not a pedophile. The audience of elite Hollywood stars and producers laughed.

TMZ downplayed the reaction, reporting that “a handful of people laughed, but it was mostly dead silent.” The audio in the clip suggests it was more than just a handful, but we weren’t there. Gaffigan continued by rhetorically asking if “pedophile” was a new category for the Globes, and said something to the effect that if not, it was overdue.

Gaffigan said it, not me. So.

    /snip

It feels significant that Gaffigan’s joke was a laugh-getter. It also seems quite interesting that, after Gervais’ 2020 performance, the Hollywood Foreign Press didn’t tell Gaffigan ixnay on the edo-pay jokes. And what does it mean that they laughed?

As far as I can tell, everything else about the mind-numbing awards show was woke virtue-signaling and completely forgettable. And maybe that is why they let Jim make the joke? In any event, Hollywood pedophilia has now reached the stage of being the butt of everyone’s joke; it has gone mainstream.

And right in time for election season. Buckle up, buttercups.

I’ve never made light of jury duty, and I’ve always willingly served.  Men and women have died for our rights, one of which is a jury trial, hopefully of people who aren’t sitting back collecting a welfare check and have nothing better to do.

If it was me in that defendant’s chair, I’d want to be judged by folks who have a sense of right and wrong, understand how the world works (or is supposed to work), have some idea of what’s going on in the world, and have an IQ bigger than their shoe size.  In other words the mentally and morally competent.  I hope I’m included in that group.

I’ll never forget being on the jury for a brutal home invasion-near-murder trial.  There was one bleeding heart liberal on the jury, and if he’d had his way, the animal would have been acquitted and released.  It took me drawing the impossible timeline of his story out for him before he admitted that the dude was lying.  Then he wanted to give him five years’ probation.  There was much arguing before we settled on seven years in prison.  The rest of us wanted to give him the max 20 years.

Before we left, the prosecutor came to the jury room and thanked us.  He had predicted the seven years sentence, but he told us that this wasn’t the first time the perp had been arrested.  He’d been picked up before, driving around in a car with another lovely member of society, with sawed off shotguns and black ski masks in the trunk.  There had been other attacks in the area where they were arrested, but there was no direct evidence to hold them on.

So, I never complain about jury duty.  It’s important to have folks who can think logically in those chairs.  If I ever ended up on trial, I’d want someone like me on the jury.

First of all, I want to point out how ignorant and careless the mainstream media is today and seems to be getting worse.

The big, breaking news was a Boeing 737 Max took off from Portland, Oregon and a large piece of the fuselage flew off the plane !!!  There was hole in the plane and people were nearly sucked out !!!

Then I saw one report, captioned under a photo of the plug opening (not a window) asking how did a window blow out of the 737 ?  The reporter was too stupid to recognize an emergency exit opening on a plane fuselage.

No one in authority or reason to know would have said that in the aviation industry.  If reporters didn’t know exactly what happened, they should have described it in a general fashion and waited until further information was available.

This is why I don’t trust so much breaking news anymore.  I try confirm stories with multiple sources.

Do Not Trust Early Breaking News Reports ! Wait and be patient because they are usually wrong or only half right.

BOB FOUND THE DOOR PLUG !

The door plug that blew off an Alaska Airlines plane mid-flight was found by a Portland school teacher in his backyard, federal officials said Sunday.

The crucial discovery was announced by the National Transportation Safety Board two days after the Boeing 737 MAX 9 was forced to make an emergency landing when the missing piece left a gaping hole in the aircraft — threatening the safety of the more than 170 people aboard.

“We are really pleased that Bob found this,” said NTSB chair Jennifer Homendy, who would only divulge the educator’s last name.

“We’re gonna go pick that up and make sure that we begin analyzing it,” she said at a press briefing just moments after learning it was located.

The medical profession continues to beclown itself defying the common sense of mankind.

Hospitals in the United Kingdom have begun using the term “chestfeeding” instead of “breastfeeding,” just years after U.S. academics published a study in which they argued that the promotion of breastfeeding as the “natural” way to feed a child has many negative societal effects.

In early 2021, Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals in the United Kingdom drew international criticism for swapping the word “breastfeeding” for “chestfeeding” in an attempt to be more inclusive of transgender individuals.

Likewise, Harvard Medical School referred to women as “birthing people” in an effort to “include those who identify as non-binary or transgender,” as Campus Reform previously reported.

The Biden administration continues to crush the truth and intimidate American companies’ advertising choices online.  In cooperation with Google and others, their goal is to totally demonetize conservative news and opinion websites and drive them out of business by running a comprehensive scam of fear against their essential source of revenue.

From the excellent Foundation for Freedom Online:

NewsGuard, the for-profit company backed by $750,000 in Pentagon funding that purports to rate the credibility of thousands of news sites by assigning them “news nutrition labels,” claims to be a politically neutral guide to the vast online news ecosystem, guiding users on the reliability of news sites. Its real purpose is blacklisting. Low NewsGuard scores are intended to cut disfavored news sites off from billions in ad revenue, forcing them offline and out of business.

The company is now well-known as perhaps the most successful and influential member of the censorship industry. Despite claiming to be “apolitical,” it has a documented partisan bias, rating left-leaning sites 27 points higher, on average, than right-leaning alternatives. NewsGuard also sells databases of “provably false narratives” to censor at scale across the internet using AI speech detection techniques:

    and

Brill’s claim that brands are “embarrassed” when their ads appear on certain websites is only partially true. Before 2016, brands suffered comparatively little public blowback over where their ads appeared. After 2016, a whole system emerged, consisting of media companies, NGOs, government funded “research institutes,” activist organizations, working together to ensure brands felt the maximum amount of pain for advertising on disfavored sites. Brill is correct that brands now regularly face public embarrassment and pressure over where their ads appear – but that state of affairs was manufactured by the same censorship industry which NewsGuard belongs to.

Brill was not shy about admitting that censorship was a major goal of his organization. Elsewhere in the presentation, he says NewsGuard has a “SWAT team” that targets trending stories and “wrestles them to the ground.”

Made it home between bands of rain.  Now I can hunker down for the afternoon.

Getting my trays cold for the next Elsa round.  I picked up some more frozen stuff: sliced strawberries, keto ice cream.  I still have some meatballs that I can throw in there, too.  And mozzarella cheese.  I love snacking on FD Mozz, the big shreds.

I prayed my rosary, but I haven’t made one yet.  I listened to my ReturnToTradition podcast, and it seems the Lepanto Institute is letting loose a report on the Vatican buddy to pachapapa, who is basically in charge of catechesis and who promulgated the schism-creating decree on the blessing of sexual perversion couples that pachapapa signed and approved .   This same guy had previously published a book on erotic kissing – I kid you not, a priest! – and now Lepanto has evidence that he had promoted the full monty of sexual perversion previously to being elevated to his current position.

Predictions for any real pushback or correction from pachapapa are slim to none.  The faithful, moral Catholics will be outraged (if they even hear about it), but considering that a priest that had been kicked out for coercing nuns to engage in sexual acts and then hearing their confessions so he could do it again – this same priest was taken back into the fold and instead of being assigned to some backwater parish has been installed in or around the Vatican.  His artwork is….disturbing, to say the least, and now is plastered on the tomb of St. Padre Pio and at least one other prominent place in the Holy See; the exact location escapes me at the moment.

So, if the unrepentant nun-raper is being protected, I’m sure the kissing guy will be just fine.

Until he takes his last breath, then it’s “OOPS!”

The last trial I was on involved a police officer that killed a gentleman who was drunk and pulled right out in front of his squad car.  As voir dire was going on, there was vague questions about driving and speeding, mention of police involvement, etc.  Towards the end, the defense attorney asked for a show of hands: “How many of you think the officer is 100% guilty?” (takes note of hands and asks a few folks some questions after each bracket) “90%  80% 60%?”  Hands go up and down.  “How many of you think he’s only 10% guilty?”  Finally, “Who hasn’t raised their hands, and why?”  My hand went up and he called me out for an answer.

“He hasn’t gone to trial yet, so he’s presumed innocent,” I replied.

I thought he was going to do a rain dance on the table in the front, he was so happy to get that answer.   Because I was so deep in the jury pool, I was the second, and last, alternate.  I had to be there for the trial and so I learned waaaaay more than I ever wanted to know about police codes one and two.  We completed the trial, the defense attorney had a motion, we were all shepherded back into the jury room pending the motion, and the bailiff came in to collect our badges.  The judge had ruled that the prosecution had failed to make their case and we were being released.   There was a gaggle of press on the steps, so we had police escorts out the back way and through the tunnels to the parking garage.

One thing that the defense attorney said in voir dire that I’ve remembered, and it’s so true:  “Every crime is a tragedy, but not every tragedy is a crime.”

I brought trash bags the second day of trial.  The lunch trash was too much for their trash cans (you’d think they would’ve learned that by now), and the room was a total mess when we left that first day.  I brought trash bags the second day and we didn’t have to stare at the lunch leavings in the afternoon session.  I’m sure the cleanup crew appreciated it, too.  I’ll try to remember to bring some the first day, next time.

Small blame on the penguins maybe, but much larger blame and guilt on Congressional morons.  Congress renewed these old sections of the Patriot Act in 2015 and a lot of people raised hell in opposition. It’s been 8 years now and Congress hasn’t done a damn thing about it.

Just because SCOTUS denied certiorari doesn’t mean they agree with Biden, Garland or DOJ.  This is a complex subject and a complicated case.  SCOTUS is always looking for the simple clear-cut case in which a broad decision can be made without generating a bunch of unintended consequences.

They might very well want to shove this up Garland’s… but they need a much more clear case file to rule on.

Remember, this suit was originally filed 8 years ago by the old ownership of Twitter over Edward Snowden and maintained by Musk regarding federal subpoenas regarding Donald Trump and others.

SCOTUS was never going to rule on this case.  It looked like a bad mule train with 8 bags of legal luggage tied to every mule.

Jury Duty, the only time I was seated on a trial in all the years I had to go downtown was a criminal trial about a 50 something boyfriend of a grandmother whose granddaughter he molested. I’ve talked about this before but needless to say the man was here illegally and had been for 40 years so he had an local attorney paid for by the country of Mexico. During the voir dire the defense attorney asked all of us if we thought it might be hard to get a conviction with only one witness and I raised my hand and that got me in. If I have time tomorrow I might tell the whole story about the trail again because it restored my faith in humanity. AND we had a very mixed jury pool, race, sex, and social/financial status. He!! we even had a guy from Pasadena with a wife beater shirt on and muddy boots. He was on his way to work and didn’t think he’d be chosen but he did dress a lot better on day 2.  😉
