What exactly did P.T. Barnum say?

Mobile County woman stuck with $45,000 solar panel bill wants to warn others.

MOBILE, Ala. (WPMI) — An Eight Mile woman says she feels duped after buying solar panels for her home off Lott Road. Cheryl Younger says she’s stuck with a $45,000 bill for the solar panels and not reaping the benefits on her power bill. Now, she wants to shine a light on the company she says misled her.

“This is very frustrating. I haven’t saved a penny,” said Younger.

Younger showed us a letter stating she’s past due on the $45,000 bill for 20 solar panels she thought would cost $20,000. Younger says they were installed in December. Her power bills show she has saved a few bucks with solar. On her June statement, her Alabama Power PAE or Purchase of Alternative Energy monthly credit was $14.35. At that rate, it would take more than 260 years for the credit to pay for the panels.

“I was shocked. I just I couldn’t believe it. I was like, I was lied to,” said Younger.

She’s not the only unsatisfied Design 1 Group customer. According the Better Business Bureau, in the last 12 months there have been 115 complaints closed against the company. Another person in Mobile County filed a lawsuit against Design 1 Group earlier this year after getting locked into a $45,000 loan for solar panels they claimed never arrived. Younger says she’s 65 years old, lives on a fixed income and can’t afford what she was sold.

“I want my money back. That’s all I ask. Give me back my money and lift the lien to my paid off home,” said Younger.

This is very sad, Jackals taking advantage of a senior citizen but she should have done her homework. I doubt the bastards did anything illegal just unethical.   ~SPITS~

    Oh and emphasis mine.

All of these sleazy, crooked bastards are funded through federal “climate change” subsidies.  It is just like the EV industry that wouldn’t exist at all without the hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayer funding.

It’s one more example of the Biden administration supplying startup funding to criminal enterprises.  The idea they are out there stealing money from elderly women and then slapping liens on their homes because they won’t cooperate in extortion makes my blood boil.

Texpat, I saw a piece on Watters the other day about how all the Greenie Weenie companies are failing miserably. From wind farms to electric vehicle and battery makers, it seems that the subsidies are either running out or aren’t big enough to compensate for the huge money losing schemes. I do hope that it continues but back to the solar panels, those sleazy bastards will continue to fleece unsuspecting people with their claims of massive $avings on the power bill. Sadly no solar panel will ever pay for itself, just like all the decommissioned wind turbines being replaced in Texas. They didn’t come close to paying for themselves before needing to be replaced. I’ve already ran of of SPIT for today,…….SIGH,…..

    This made me smile;

When The Three Stooges starred in “Three Little Pigskins” in 1934, in a small role, the cast included 22-year-old Lucille Ball.

Rocking blonde hair rather than her patented red hair, Ball is seen here 17 years before the debut of I Love Lucy.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. — Wind energy developer Orsted is writing off $4 billion, due largely to the cancellation of two large offshore wind projects in New Jersey whose financial challenges mirror those facing the nascent industry.

It added fresh uncertainty to an industry seen by supporters as a way to help end the burning of planet-warming fossil fuels, but derided by opponents as inherently unworkable without massive financial subsidies.

The Danish company said Tuesday night it is scrapping its Ocean Wind I and II projects off the coast of southern New Jersey due to problems with supply chains, higher interest rates, and a failure to obtain the amount of tax credits the company wanted.

“These are obviously some very tough decisions,” Mads Nipper, Orsted’s CEO, said on an earnings conference call Wednesday.

He said the company, the world’s largest offshore wind developer, decided “to de-risk the most painful part of our portfolio, and that is the U.S.

Don’t let that doorknob hit you in the butt on the way out the door, Mads Nipper. (Who walks around with a name like that ?). Anyway, having to eat 4 billion dollars is probably your ticket to a quick and early retirement, pal.

Mads Nipper’s company has managed to kill something like 26 whales, dolphins, sharks and untold marine life off the Jersey Shore.  You SOBs.

My knee woke me up around 3:30 a.m. so I pulled up videos on patellofemoral pain syndrome.  I learned more about it, and I now know why I get pain down the outside of my thigh as well – the IT band (ligament) is part of the syndrome.

It’s been 3 weeks since the knee doc and I’m marginally better.  I’m not in pain at this moment, but it won’t take much nor be long and I’ll be uncomfortable.

He offered me a cortisone shot, which I’m considering.  Resting the knee hasn’t seemed to make much of a difference.  A difference, but not much.  I was hoping to avoid the shot.  Hate those things.

I was never referred for physical therapy, nor was I advised on stretches, using ice, etc.  The videos gave me some suggestions on those.  I watched two medical doctors and one chiropractor, so have a variety of things I can try.

So, I get to make a decision: go for the shot for a (hopefully) quicker reduction in the inflammation and pain, and work from there with PT?  or start with the PT and wait for more weeks to get better.

This has been going on for at least six months, with the last three being the worst.  Really want this over.

    Really. Want. This. Over.

I don’t know who RVM News is or who owns it.  I’m always skeptical of websites that do not have something similar to an “About” page or a masthead listing board members and staff.  I often do deep dives into non-profit and NGO websites checking board members, staff and their tax filings for donor listings.  I also do searches on the bios of writers and contributors.

RVM News may be just fine and they seem to be.

Here is a roundup they have done with a lot of voting and election malfunction, corruption and incompetence across the country.

EDIT BY TEXPAT: I found an “ABOUT” page for Red Voice Media aka rvmnews.com but they forgot to add a link to their homepage for it.

I’ve decided to gift my grandchildren a set of books that were a big part of my childhood.   I had to hunt the set down after graduating college, since the original set was being held hostage by one of my siblings.  I couldn’t remember the name of the set, but fortunately Eldest Sis bumped into a set while doing some antique shopping.  I was able to locate a set online and was SO EXCITED when they arrived!  There’s one page half missing, but otherwise, in good condition for its age.

It’s a set of ten books.  The fairy tales are not of the Grimm variety, and many of them I’ve not seen elsewhere.  Stories of magic and wonder, animal stories, history…one of my favorites was the Myths and Legends book.  I read and reread and reread those books as a kid.  I still enjoy them now.

But the girls are the right age to enjoy them, and LD has given me the go ahead to share them with her children.  It’ll leave a hole in me to give them away, but it’ll be filled with the knowledge that they’ll be appreciated in her home.

I’m taking a quick walk-through them before my next visit north.  I read one of my fave stories (of many) last night: “The Light Princess”.  Ah, memories!

I just hope they are as special to them as they were to me.

PS:  The end papers are….unusual.  BCS and I used to joke about them.  Seriously, it looks like people getting their feet stuck in huge, man size turds.  WTH?

    HIGH ENDS ☙ Thursday, November 9, 2023 ☙ C&C NEWS

Good morning, C&C, it’s Thursday! Today’s quick roundup includes: a little rant, good news trickles in from local races; a discussion about local versus national politics; a whole new Epstein case may be breaking; young celebrity SADS stories: rapper, actor/director, and influencer; and some excellent work by the House Impeachment Committee.

    NEWS:

Childers starts off by dealing with complaints that he didn’t go hog-wild with trashing the elections as “stolen” and defends hisself with the legal issues.  But, given that…

Now that’s out of the way, plenty of good election news continued trickling in yesterday, especially from local races. Since as you know, my ‘anti-Superman’ electoral philosophy is “local, local, local,” I was heartened and gratified to see many local races flipping conservative. For one encouraging example, the plucky group Moms for Liberty (a collection of domestic terrorists if ever I saw any) reported winning no fewer than +50 school board seats yesterday, and +90 more before that just in 2023:

If you want to know what is really in Republicans’ way it is ‘superman’ worship. I’m begging folks. I don’t know how better I can explain it. Trump, DeSantis, RFK, I don’t care. The over-focus on presidential politics is distracting people from actually fixing the nation’s problems.

….It was your local county commissioner, that’s who! Wake up! The feds only published guidelines. In most states, local politicians used their broad emergency powers to pull the country’s economic plug, and now look where we are.

Gee, that sounds familiar.  /flipping through internet pages of the blog

When folks become completely fascinated by one person as their political ‘savior’ — whether it’s Trump, Beshear, DeSantis, whoever — they cheapen politics, turning civic participation into a rah-rah sporting event. They forget all about the fundamentals. Folks say they hate the uni-party, but that’s a lazy excuse for inaction. There’s no uni-party in local politics.

The national uni-party convinces folks to root for a single person, turning presidential politics into the Super Bowl, so folks will get so distracted they won’t do the work to take and keep control of their own home towns.

(Chris Salcedo has become annoying to me because he’s constantly harping on/about/to his radio audience on this.  Not that it’s not an important point, but I feel like he’s insulting his audience with his anger.)

Childers goes on to point out Emperor Palpatine Soros put tons of money into LOCAL races.  There is a method to his madness, darn it.  Childers points out that the local races breed the entries for the future national races.  We should be expending more of our time, talent, and treasure on developing the local office holders so they can develop their political skills for the bigger races.

#11 Tedtam, my sister didn’t have much money when she first married and had two boys but she managed to get in a book club that had Dr Suess books for her boys. After the boys got older she loaned them to kin folks on her husbands side, then later when we had kids she sent them to us, all tattered and taped up. Afterwards we sent them back and I bet they’re entertaining some great grandkids now. I’ll have to ask her about them.

I have fond memories of reading them to my boy and girl. Daughter and I have a saying from one of the books that we use often when we’re talking; “Do you like my hat”?

BTW; The fact that the books were old and worn by the time we got them made them that more special.

Next up: Chinese honey pot schemes

A fascinating story broke yesterday, headlined in CNBC asHigh-end brothels serviced elected officials, tech and pharma execs, military brass: Feds.I’ll skip the picture.

We don’t yet know much. But what we’ve learned so far is that a multi-year DOJ investigation out of the Massachusetts US Attorney’s office made three key arrests in a prostitution sting this week.

The handful of disclosed facts already suggest staggering implications.

…The [Chinese, spies] men operated a sophisticated, multi-state, high-end prostitution service targeting elected officials, military leaders, and business executives. Sound familiar yet? According to the filed papers, targeted customers also included “lawyers, scientists and accountants.”

    /snip

If they were, in fact, Chinese spies, they were brilliant…. James Lee’s various business accounts showed deposits of a half million in federal Covid-19 relief funds. The affidavit stated the Covid-19 relief funds were “possibly fraudulently obtained.”

Our tax dollars at work! /spits

There are “potentially hundreds” of customers not yet identified, because of “ongoing investigations,” and not because their identity is being protected.  Yeah, right.  I’m guessing Clinton, Biden, et al, are part of that list.  The schemes were set up just outside of D.C. and near major financial centers.  I don’t think my neighbor was involved.

It’s early and I don’t want to get ahead of the story. But the only way we can start to get a handle on this problem is, in my view, by publicizing everyone involved.

There’s a lot that could be speculated about this developing story. James Lee looks like he could be the Chinese Jeffrey Epstein. …

And … why can’t these guys secure their pants? How stupid are our “elites,” really?

It seems that our leaders of industry and politics have a problem with the blood rushing from the brain to other body parts, making them utterly stupid.

  22. Tedtam Avatar

More SADS news from the S&U department.  What a young, lovely lady!  A rapper, an actor…RIP to them all.

And is the noose tightening around the Biden family’s collective neck?

Finally, speaking of compromised elected officials, yesterday the Hill ran an encouraging story headlined,House GOP subpoenas Hunter Biden alongside suite of Biden family members.”

Yesterday, the House Oversight Committee took the “remarkable step” of subpoenaing depositions from a half-dozen of Joe Biden’s family members, as part of its ongoing impeachment inquiry. Subpoenas were issued to: James Biden’s wife, Sarah Biden; Hunter Biden’s wife, Melissa Cohen; Hallie Biden, Beau Biden’s widow; and her sister Elizabeth Secundy.

The Committee also asked for an interview with Hunter’s former business partner Tony Bobulinski, and House Oversight Chair James Comer’s (R-Ky.) press release said he “plans to send additional subpoenas and transcribed interview requests later this week.”

Of course, the Dems and the left are poo-pooing the whole thing.  What choice do they have?  It’s not like they can support any real truth-seeking efforts without shooting themselves in the foot.

The democrats opened these floodgates with their January 6th investigations, multiple Trump impeachments, and their raft of process-crime lawsuits. Now the investigatory subpoena chickens are flocking home to roost.

    We can dream.

American Higher Ed today looks like a collection of high end prostitutes selling themselves to anybody and everybody who waves enough money at them.

At least six American universities have campuses in the country of Qatar—which is currently home to former Hamas leader and recent global “Day of Jihad” progenitor Khaled Meshaal.

These institutions are Carnegie Mellon University, Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, Georgetown University, Northwestern University, Texas A&M University, and Virginia Commonwealth University. Reportedly, these universities struck a bargain with Qatari leaders to allow Qatari residents to receive American degrees without having to travel overseas. The Washington Post reported in 2015 that these institutions receive a total of more than $320 million each year in exchange.

The TAMU at Qatar page is here.

You really have to read the CNBC report at Tedtam’s #16.

The appointments with sex workers allegedly took place in “high-end apartment complexes” where the rent was as much as $5,600, authorities said.

Two websites used to advertise services by prostitutes who worked at the brothels include nude photos of women as well as their physical dimensions.

“Here to serve our wonderful Boston friends,” one of the websites said, according to an image viewed by CNBC.

“Each website allegedly described a verification process that interested sex buyers undertook to be eligible for appointment bookings — including requiring clients complete a form providing their full names, email address, phone number, employer and reference if they had one,” the U.S. Attorney’s office said.

By God, Tommy Franks was right:  You just can’t fix stupid.

Elected officials, tech and pharma executives, military officers, doctors, and government contractors with security clearances were among the clients of pricey brothels around Boston and in eastern Virginia, federal prosecutors said.

These are the elite class of Boston and DC and they are so stupid they provide a bunch of ChiCom pimps all their personal information.

Okay, I pulled up one of the videos I watched at 3:30 this morning and worked through a few of the exercises. Gently. Also some of the stretches.  Then a very moderate half mile and made myself stop.

I got my ropa vieja started in the crock pot.  I use a brisket flat instead of steak, so if the meat’s not done by dinner time (I got started late with the crock pot), I’ll put it into my pressure cooker and steam it into submission.  FYI – when I buy brisket the round end gets put on the pit and the flat goes into the freezer.  I know it’s sacrilege to say “too much barbecue” but the round is enough for Hubby and me, with leftovers.  And then I have meat for this recipe.

Now, I’m following another suggestion from the videos, and have strapped a cold pack on my knee, tied into place with a thin towel.

    Y’all wish me luck.

It was the rowdiest rain I’ve ever been exposed to. The rain was so dense that the inside of my car widows had fogged over as soon as I emerged from the parking area, right into jam-packed parking  getting on and some getting off the Loop. I didn’t have anything with me to try to wipe the wetness off the inside of the windshield.

Nope and I’m a little surprised that they’re only asking $1.3 million. The Ford GT 40 is much sought after mostly because they’re rare.

BTW; This got my attention; One of three 289 Cleveland engines made, original engine to 1042 (CP004) – Scuderia Filipinetti entry for 1967 Le Mans. I’ve never heard of a 289 Cleveland. I know that they made a 302 (Boss) Cleveland for Trans Am Road Racing which is kinda small but they had to limit the CID to qualify. Most Cleveland’s were 351’s not to be confused with the 351 Windsor that was the same block as the Ford 220, 260, 289, and 302. These were all small blocks similar to the 265, 283, 327. etc Chevy’s. The 351 Cleveland is a big block engine with huge porcupine heads exactly like a big block Chevy. I’ve mentioned this before but I rebuilt one 351 Cleveland in my younger days, the only big block I’ve rebuilt, I never rebuilt a big block Chevy but I did rebuild several small blocks.

    i read many of them.

Can’t believe several of them think sticky Nikki can win.

    half are probably trolls.

she’s as deep state as it gets and there would be no border security with her as president and a continuation of the Vampyre blood money sucking endless wars.

Just like the wooden dummy Kenyan 3 regime

she would get trounced badly just like the rest of the rino gang.

Saw a clip of the de-bait where the Swamy said the eCan’ts have become a party of losers and I couldn’t agree more because I’ve been saying that for years.

hindermoonraker is in complete denial about elections and all the fraud.
he doesn’t want to win either.

he’d rather lose gracefully with sticky Nikki in a landslide than win bigly with Trump.

he’s become a morphed Andrew McCarthy and Jonah Goldberg.

    Checking out the comments I spotted this;

Uh ohhhh. The DeSinking DeSantis campaign is in big, big trouble. As in Bigelow. Robert Bigelow. The DeSantis campaign’s largest donor has announced he is abandoning the little guy and is now a “Trump Guy”. I have read that five donors have provided DeSantis with 85% of his campaign war chest. The biggest one just jumped ship. Ronnie is down to 4.

Did I ever tell you about Robert Bigelow? To say he is a wired dude would be an understatement. If I have time in the morning I’ll you about the time NASA sent me to North Las Vegas to teach his techs how to install strain gages.

If sticky Nikki, Asa not the hutch of starsky or The Jersey Jelly Roll were to win the eCan’t nomination I’d vote for RFK jr.

he’d do more about securing the border than those 3 deep state players and pretenders on the stage last night with exception of maybe the Swamy.

    and that’s a huge maybe.
Still not sure if he’s on the level or not or just another eConCan’t.
But I did like how he tore a new a-hole in the Kentucky Swamp Turtle controlled loser party and the propagandist media.
