Some of us couldn’t sleep, I guess?

It’s Monday time to start this week off right. For some unknown reason I slept until almost 5:30 that almost never happens but I did sleep good, I didn’t wake up again after putting Dawg out at 1:30 AM.

I noticed a headline last night about a new study and the danger of the spike protein from the two flavored jabs on heart tissue.  I’m sure Childers will mention it in his column.

I have to leave in a bit for a dental appointment with UT Health, a prelude to the big stuff.  This department needs to look over the tooth that had an infection that was caught on the previous visit to periodontics.

Not. Enough. Sleep.  But I’m trying to wake up.

The Associated Press instructs reporters and organizations that rely on its style guide to avoid referring to Hamas as a terrorist organization, a Washington Free Beacon review of the organization’s standards found.

The news outlet states in its “Israel-Hamas Topical Guide” that because “terrorism and terrorist have become politicized, and often are applied inconsistently … the AP is not using the terms for specific actions or groups, other than in direct quotations.” The guidance will affect how dozens of regional newspapers and national outlets like Politico report on the ongoing war in Gaza.

Hamas, an Islamist militant group dedicated to the annihilation of Israel and Jews around the world, is classified as a terrorist organization by dozens of countries, including the United States and the European Union. Hamas has undertaken hundreds of terrorist attacks against civilians since 1993, according to the Jewish Virtual Library.

The Associated Press has been a collection of lying weasels for decades now.  Any media outlet that follows the AP stylebook is the same.

I tend to agree with Alito, Gorsuch and Thomas in their dissent on this emergency application to SCOTUS.  The Supremes could have left it as it stood under injunction and then considered a regular appeal later this term.

Childers is more optimistic than I am, but in the end we both agree the final result should be good, maybe even great.

Well, I just got finished making today a special day for the dental school.

The guy in charge of my case has declared my mouth “different for sure”. I was laughing as they went through the same conundrum on how to label my teeth. Since I have so many missing teeth, it’s hard to tell just what number of 32 each one is.

Him: “#4 is (some dental term, I’ll use ‘special’.)
Assistant her: “But they [periodontal department] have it labeled ‘5’.”
Him: “Go ahead and call it ‘5-special,’ it doesn’t matter.”

At least they won’t be arguing over dental nomenclature as we progress.

More x-rays, and it turns out that my baby teeth have finally decided to start resorbing, “just like they are supposed to do,” dentist says. To which I replied, “Fifty years too late!” Dentist starts cracking up. “They’re just really late bloomers!” He cracks up again. He almost had to step away for a moment.

I officially have a small mouth, which I said they needed to tell my husband. More laughing. It made picture taking really delightful. But it doesn’t bode well for all the work to be done. I’m probably facing a root canal for the infected tooth, and the X-rays show it may have started in on its neighbor, so we’ll see about that.

My bridge was another source of amazement. “I’ve only seen those in books!” This bridge was put in 30+ years ago, and I’d heard that they quit doing them because they just didn’t hold up well. Except for mine. Mine is special. Mine is hanging on like Trump and the last election bid. But the tooth holding it is showing deterioration now, and I’ve lost bone in the missing tooth area. It, too, is destined for the scrap pile.

I guess I’ll be a good case study for the dental college. The dentist and I agreed that implants are going to be my best option for the wide swath of destruction that is likely planned for the battlefield between my cheeks.

Next appointment is Monday at 3. Treatment plan and possibly first (of many) extractions.

Michael Walsh of the New York Post, a seasoned author, critic and journalist has a pessimistic take on the trials and tribulations of Donald Trump and his campaigns.  Note that Walsh was a supporter of Trump in his columns before and during his election.

Cue now the chorus of voices shouting about the Steal, despite the fact that a) at the time no courts took any of the cases and b) now that the matter is being adjudicated, the Trump team is losing and rolling over on its own. Ms. Powell, one of the former president’s staunchest defenders whose personal credibility considerably enhanced public trust in the rightness of Trump’s case, did what was best for herself in taking the plea deal; Powell is not stupid, and wisely chose not to sacrifice herself for someone who would toss her aside without a second thought — and who in fact has already distanced himself from her.

In any case, I have discussed the arguments regarding the Steal in two pieces here at the Pipeline; The System IS the Steal, and The Sting, and addressed many of the issues as they were happening in my columns for the Epoch Times, which were favorable to Trump.

    and this,

As the Romans knew, politics is a cruel, masculine business. Once the election was called for Joe Biden, however unfairly or even illegally, the Trump campaign should have congratulated the “winner,” withdrawn, and lived to fight another day; in other words, it should have emulated Richard Nixon, who lost the closely contested election of 1960 to John F. Kennedy. However difficult, that would have been the honorable and patriotic thing to do. Recall that from the start of his first presidential campaign Trump was already questioning the reliability of the electoral system and even then hinting he would contest any count that he lost. Here’s a reminder:

#15 Squawk, my sister was over on Sunday and had not seen that dreadful commercial so I went through one of my Fox recorded shows and found it for her,….nice of me huh? FWIW; Sister doesn’t watch anything on the tube and gets all her news from me. She figures I can just hit the high spots, not report on all the BS and of course be truthful. One other thing, I record a lot of Fox during the day in case I need to go back and check out any earth shattering news. Every Saturday I erase everything and usually don’t watch any of it except a couple of shows that I like.

I wouldn’t have any problem rooting against the Rangers in the World Series.

After Hurricane Harvey devastated southeast Texas, the Rangers refused to accommodate the Astros by swapping out the two remaining home series that season. So we had to play them in St. Petersburg, Florida.
