Some of us couldn’t sleep, I guess?
It’s Monday time to start this week off right. For some unknown reason I slept until almost 5:30 that almost never happens but I did sleep good, I didn’t wake up again after putting Dawg out at 1:30 AM.

I noticed a headline last night about a new study and the danger of the spike protein from the two flavored jabs on heart tissue. I’m sure Childers will mention it in his column.
I have to leave in a bit for a dental appointment with UT Health, a prelude to the big stuff. This department needs to look over the tooth that had an infection that was caught on the previous visit to periodontics.
Not. Enough. Sleep. But I’m trying to wake up.

Liz Cheney speaks one-on-one with Lester Holt: Exclusive.
BAWHAHAHAHA!!!!
Posted for your amusement only.
You can always tell the
R.I.N.O.’sTraitors, they’re the ones that the left likes and the love anyone that hates Trump. -
I’ll leave the C&C link and roundup:
INTELLIGENCE FAILURES ☙ Monday, October 23, 2023 ☙ C&C NEWS

The Associated Press instructs reporters and organizations that rely on its style guide to avoid referring to Hamas as a terrorist organization, a Washington Free Beacon review of the organization’s standards found.
The news outlet states in its “Israel-Hamas Topical Guide” that because “terrorism and terrorist have become politicized, and often are applied inconsistently … the AP is not using the terms for specific actions or groups, other than in direct quotations.” The guidance will affect how dozens of regional newspapers and national outlets like Politico report on the ongoing war in Gaza.
Hamas, an Islamist militant group dedicated to the annihilation of Israel and Jews around the world, is classified as a terrorist organization by dozens of countries, including the United States and the European Union. Hamas has undertaken hundreds of terrorist attacks against civilians since 1993, according to the Jewish Virtual Library.
The Associated Press has been a collection of lying weasels for decades now. Any media outlet that follows the AP stylebook is the same.

Tedtam @ 8:11 AM
I tend to agree with Alito, Gorsuch and Thomas in their dissent on this emergency application to SCOTUS. The Supremes could have left it as it stood under injunction and then considered a regular appeal later this term.
Childers is more optimistic than I am, but in the end we both agree the final result should be good, maybe even great.

Morning, y’all. Looks like I got rain while I was sleeping. Finally got up, saw the patio was wet, and Billy Cat was asleep in the old gazebo which keeps him dry.

Well, I just got finished making today a special day for the dental school.
The guy in charge of my case has declared my mouth “different for sure”. I was laughing as they went through the same conundrum on how to label my teeth. Since I have so many missing teeth, it’s hard to tell just what number of 32 each one is.
Him: “#4 is (some dental term, I’ll use ‘special’.)
Assistant her: “But they [periodontal department] have it labeled ‘5’.”
Him: “Go ahead and call it ‘5-special,’ it doesn’t matter.”At least they won’t be arguing over dental nomenclature as we progress.
More x-rays, and it turns out that my baby teeth have finally decided to start resorbing, “just like they are supposed to do,” dentist says. To which I replied, “Fifty years too late!” Dentist starts cracking up. “They’re just really late bloomers!” He cracks up again. He almost had to step away for a moment.
I officially have a small mouth, which I said they needed to tell my husband. More laughing. It made picture taking really delightful. But it doesn’t bode well for all the work to be done. I’m probably facing a root canal for the infected tooth, and the X-rays show it may have started in on its neighbor, so we’ll see about that.
My bridge was another source of amazement. “I’ve only seen those in books!” This bridge was put in 30+ years ago, and I’d heard that they quit doing them because they just didn’t hold up well. Except for mine. Mine is special. Mine is hanging on like Trump and the last election bid. But the tooth holding it is showing deterioration now, and I’ve lost bone in the missing tooth area. It, too, is destined for the scrap pile.
I guess I’ll be a good case study for the dental college. The dentist and I agreed that implants are going to be my best option for the wide swath of destruction that is likely planned for the battlefield between my cheeks.
Next appointment is Monday at 3. Treatment plan and possibly first (of many) extractions.

Michael Walsh of the New York Post, a seasoned author, critic and journalist has a pessimistic take on the trials and tribulations of Donald Trump and his campaigns. Note that Walsh was a supporter of Trump in his columns before and during his election.
Cue now the chorus of voices shouting about the Steal, despite the fact that a) at the time no courts took any of the cases and b) now that the matter is being adjudicated, the Trump team is losing and rolling over on its own. Ms. Powell, one of the former president’s staunchest defenders whose personal credibility considerably enhanced public trust in the rightness of Trump’s case, did what was best for herself in taking the plea deal; Powell is not stupid, and wisely chose not to sacrifice herself for someone who would toss her aside without a second thought — and who in fact has already distanced himself from her.
In any case, I have discussed the arguments regarding the Steal in two pieces here at the Pipeline; The System IS the Steal, and The Sting, and addressed many of the issues as they were happening in my columns for the Epoch Times, which were favorable to Trump.
and this,
As the Romans knew, politics is a cruel, masculine business. Once the election was called for Joe Biden, however unfairly or even illegally, the Trump campaign should have congratulated the “winner,” withdrawn, and lived to fight another day; in other words, it should have emulated Richard Nixon, who lost the closely contested election of 1960 to John F. Kennedy. However difficult, that would have been the honorable and patriotic thing to do. Recall that from the start of his first presidential campaign Trump was already questioning the reliability of the electoral system and even then hinting he would contest any count that he lost. Here’s a reminder:

I noticed a headline last night
Hear about those newfangled corduroy pillow cases?
.
.
.
Theyre making headlines everywhere.
-
Tedtam 12:08.
Yikes, what a list of things that would seem to be “unusual” to the nth degree. The dentists should pay you for giving them the novel experience that your teeth and mouth would seem to provide.
-
Adee, as long as they keep laughing at my jokes and allow me to eat my food, I’ll be happy.
So, far, good on both counts.

If I did it correctly, I’ve shared a link to Amir Tsarfati’s latest update about the goings-on in Israel… some I’d heard before, but a LOT was NEW news to me – some absolutely heart-wrenching… but most things I don’t know that we’d ever hear from the “media”/propagandists on this side of the world.

Thanks for the replies about Mark’s chili recipe. I really could have sworn he posted it – prob in a comment – way back a few years ago.
iirc, he ground up dried chilis, as one does, then added other stuff, then ended up with a paste of some sort.
-
This video came into my feed. He’s not only a golden voiced singer, he just seems like a nice guy.
I’d buy his music.

Wagonburner
I just ran through 60 pages of comments “chili” search and found no recipe from Hamous. If you are intersted I can get you the infamous pumpkin chili recipe I posted. Texpat liked that one.
Buhwahahahahahahahahahahahahaha I crack myself up.

The Mike Walsh article lays out exactly why the sans-a-belt slack wearing Vampyre eCan’ts will again allow and be very happy about the upcoming steal in 2024.
They don’t live to fight any day much less another day. They can’t even manage to elect a decent speaker in which case now I hope no speaker is ever elected.the sans-a-belt slackers are the exact opposite of this song and always will be.

Thanks for the YouTube link. I didn’t have it.
Amir’s Twitter feed is so unreliable, especially if you aren’t a member.
If Monk would get TwitterX straightened out, I might actually join.
But according to some, he hired an idiot to run it.

#15 Squawk, my sister was over on Sunday and had not seen that dreadful commercial so I went through one of my Fox recorded shows and found it for her,….nice of me huh? FWIW; Sister doesn’t watch anything on the tube and gets all her news from me. She figures I can just hit the high spots, not report on all the BS and of course be truthful. One other thing, I record a lot of Fox during the day in case I need to go back and check out any earth shattering news. Every Saturday I erase everything and usually don’t watch any of it except a couple of shows that I like.
-
BTW; wife is watching the game. Go Stro’s 😉
-
Oh and supper was burn’t dawgs with onions, candied Jalapenos, sharp cheddar, Horsey sauce and hot mustard. Dayaam it was good, oh and Lay’s Kettle cooked Jalapeno chips. 😉
-
Well, it was nice while it lasted.

Super Dave
You are killing me with suppers and lunches and breakfasts. I cain’t even check your over there feed. BSue says she hate to see a grown man drool so much. And the crying over knowing we could be raking in obscene profits like crazy in the Super Dave Cafe. Sigh
I do not watch any network news save the weather dude and doodettes and ABC 13.
-
In their last 28 home games, Astros are 7-21.
Insane.
-
I can’t believe there are 10 runs in this game after 3-1/2 innings.
-
What he/they said, not looking good for the Astros. That Start the game Homer kinda’ set the pace.
-
Squawk, I hate you missed the Gumbo. 😉 >>>>>>>>>>>>SCRAAM>>>>>>>>>>>
-
Squawk
I haven’t watched local or national ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN or MSNBC broadcast in so many years I can’t remember. I’ve watched the local CBS affiliate weather gal a few times, but that is it.
We only started watching Fox a couple of years ago for Tucker only although now Her Highness likes to watch Laura and Jesse. If it was up to me, I wouldn’t watch any of it.

Super Dave

Dave you are evil. but I sill lubs ya. 🙂

Frankly I had to shut it all off some time ago. I do get reliable news from varied outside the main stream.
-
I’m pretty surprised Dusty put Neris in to pitch. He’s got to be pretty worn out. This last walk on Seager with 4 balls in row, 2 in the dirt is not good sign
-
He puts sausage in his gumbo, SQK.
Weird.
Although in Louisiana, anything goes into gumbo. Possum tails, Nutria feet. You name it.
-
BSue’s parting comment before leaving the game to my custody.
/That means I got the remote control back
It is going to be real hard to watch the World Series and root for the Rangers.
-
Shannon
I have had nutria in my gumbo along with blue crab. We coon ass will eat just about anything in gumbo.
-
Since the Hamas devils attacked, Her Highness has kept the TV on I-24 in Israel or Fox News here. I told her it’s not healthy, but she can’t stop watching. It’s making me crazy.
-
I wouldn’t have any problem rooting against the Rangers in the World Series.
After Hurricane Harvey devastated southeast Texas, the Rangers refused to accommodate the Astros by swapping out the two remaining home series that season. So we had to play them in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Screw the Texas Rangers. Go Phillies.
The 2017 story can be found below:
Report: Rangers refused to swap home series with Astros

#33. BSue and I have been riveted to news about Israel. I have seen the pictures and videos and all I gotta say is this:
Israel needs to quit bickering in the Knesset. tell the world and Joe Biden to go urinate up a rope and make Gaza into a parking lot.
-
The DFW has the two teams that they deserve.
The no-class Cowboys and the no-class Rangers.
-
That’s all just South Oklahoma up there, anyway.
-
Shannon #36 and #37
now that is funny right there.
-
I just got back rom watching D’Souza’s latest: “Police State”.
Man, if I wasn’t paranoid before, I am now. It was amusing to hear the peanut gallery comments out loud during the movie. Some of them were mine.
I made a new friend, because, well, that’s how I roll. She had her share of comments as well.
She may check out the Couch, so y’all straighten up the newspapers and take off yer shoes before puttin’ ’em up on the coffee table. I’ll go check the tea level in the frig.
-
At least Altuve tries to make it a base hit. All these high flies to the outfield aren’t worth anything unless they go over the fence or the fielder blows it.
-
I have to get up early to take Hubby to the airport. He’s catching a morning flight to St. Louis to see about that truck.
-
Coming home and seeing the baseball score was a little disheartening. 🙁
But the fat lady hasn’t sung yet, so there’s still hope.
-
Tedtam
But thefatJardiance lady hasn’t sung yet, so there’s still hope.fixed it for you
-
Thanks, Squawk. What would we do without you?
-
Prolly be much better off.
-
Ok, Lucy.
I smell a very stinky fish when it comes to this story.
-
St. Lawrence Seaway shut down by striking Canadian union lock workers.
-
There are fifteen locks on the St. Lawrence.
The elevation difference between the Atlantic Ocean and Lake Erie is 600 feet.
-
Well, ‘stros – maybe next year.
