How Trump Beats Michelle Obama in 2024

For all the talk of a potential Michelle Obama 2024 presidential run, almost no one mentions Michelle’s greatest political vulnerability: the terrible way she has treated the black community in Chicago.

and asking these questions,

Why did you and your brother Craig run away from the all-black schools just down the street to study with whites?

Why did you force 20,000 black people out of their homes while working for the white liberal mayor of Chicago?

How many millions did you make helping white liberals deny the black community access to first rate health at the University of Chicago Medical Center?

Michelle Obama, will you apologize to the black community for what you did to them in Chicago?

oh, the stories are rich,

To pull off her subterfuge, Michelle has had Oprah Winfrey and others repeatedly introduce her as “South Side girl.” At the beginning of the movie version of Becoming, Michelle declares, “I’m from the South Side of Chicago, and that’s all you need to know about me.” Michelle in fact grew up in South Shore, an entirely distinct neighborhood on Lake Michigan, where Jesse Jackson lives. Jackson never claimed to be from the South Side.

And to reinforce her story of “just an ordinary black person,” Michelle has repeatedly falsely portrayed herself as a victim of racial discrimination. First, she has tried to rewrite history by claiming to have witnessed “white flight” growing up. In fact, most whites had left South Shore due to crime by 1965, six years before Michelle moved into the area at age six in 1971. The middle-class homes on Lake Michigan were attractive to middle-class blacks, who snapped them up, so much so that the prices rose when whites moved out. In fact, the only “white flight” that Michelle could have witnessed in the 1970s was by looking in the mirror: it was she and her brother fleeing from all-black schools.

plus this,

The Democrat party has already set up its calendar to accommodate a Michelle Obama candidacy in 2024. They moved their historic first primary out of Iowa to South Carolina, where 50% of the primary voters are black, an easy layup for Michelle. And, in what could not be a more obvious move, the Democrats placed their 2024 Democrat National Convention in Michelle’s hometown of Chicago.

With Michelle, the media can use their two favorite weapons to attack those who disagree: race and sex. Democrats, meanwhile, will sell black voters on the rather insulting message, “Vote for us because we look like you.”

That is a great story and it’s hard to beat the American Thinker but I don’t know how much Trump’s message can get out to potential black voters. Most of them already have their minds made up and if Trump peels off a double digit advantage from the black population, it will be mostly because of Biden’s economy. That said I do think that if they parachute Michele in he should use this kind of information against her. I’m still not convinced that she wants to run especially since her name hasn’t been floated about, as far as I know. Just my opinion and I did RTWDT and recommend that everyone does.

Texas congressman, Henry Cuellar, was carjacked by three black males in downtown DC tonight.  He is okay but his Honda CHR vehicle is gone.

I wasn’t sure what a Honda CHR was so I looked it up and found a Honda HR-V and a Toyota C-HR so do we know if it was a Honda or a Toyota?

    from the o/c article:

a scheme designed to prevent blacks who showed up at the University of Chicago Medical Center emergency room from receiving medical care.  Michelle made sure they were put into vans and shipped to crappy neighborhood strip mall clinics on the South Side.  This was all illegal; it was called “patient dumping.”  The $300,000 salary apparently eased Michelle’s conscience.

This puts a deceptive spin on a bad situation.  Many of the lower income strata go to the e-room for routine care; some will even call an ambulance when there are 4 cars with family drivers present and in the driveway.  They do this because they do not have to pay any of the bills associated with such behavior.  Most of the crap that this class of people (income, not race) can and should be effectively treated at local clinics at a fraction of the cost.  There needs to be lots of these types of clinics all over the country; unfortunately, doing things in a cost effective and efficient manner is not something at which the government at any level excels.

IF a patient shows up and their condition is beyond the scope of the local clinic, then transportation can and should be arranged to put the patient in a more appropriate setting.

#4 Bones – having been “in the bid-ness” for many years (private ambulance), we learned many also seek to arrive at the ER via ambulance because of a mistaken impression that they will go to “the front of the line”… And that WAS true in the early 90’s when I first became an EMT/Paramedic – but after a fairly short time, ER’s began to triage the patient arriving by ambulance, and many times we were told (at the Triage Desk) to lower our stretcher, and allow the “patient” to take a seat in the waiting area… (they also had to find their own way back home LOL)

We’ve been working around the little pond for several days cutting and chopping up more privet hedge. Yesterday I whacked down 7 Bradford Pears behind the Pole Barn which is just south of the area we were working. I didn’t want to just blow the wood chips around the pond so I put a tarp in my wife’s trailer to catch the chips. It worked great and since we had the trailer in tight quarters I used my Beast (Kawasaki 750 Brute Force) to pull the trailer. The short wheel base makes it easier than the wife’s Mule. And if you’re wondering, my Mule doesn’t have a trailer hitch. I know and I soo ashamed but it’s an older model that didn’t have any provision from the factory to install a hitch and fabricating/welding up something hasn’t moved up on my priority list.   So that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. 😉

G’mornin’ gang!  I have a teaser headache and am slow getting going.  Since I’m still making up that sleep deficit, I allowed some extra sack time this morning.

I couldn’t get the meds yesterday for the tooth infection the dental college found yesterday.  Something about getting the doctor’s authorization.  Ah well.  I didn’t know it was there before, so I guess I can deal with it another day.

And there’ll be no hose dragging around my garden this morning.  Definitely a rain day here at the Dome.  I harken back a few months ago, when I wondered if we’d ever see rain again…

BTW – I caught a few S&U stories on my own this morning: a 57 year old auxiliary bishop in Chicago, who was working under Bp. Blase Cupich.  That alone would cause my body to give up, that “clergyman” Cupich is a disgrace to the Catholic Church.  The second was a 17 year old girl who died on the field after being introduced as part of her school’s homecoming court.

She was 17, for goodness’ sakes!  She seemed to be extremely well-liked and very popular.  Reading the story, I get the impression that she and I would have been good friends had I been her age.

RIP and comfort to their loved ones and friends.

BTW – I finished a baby blanket last night.  There’s a school crossing guard that has blessed me with the biggest, most beautiful smile for years.  She’s an elderly black lady who appears to have two bad hips.  She walks by rocking from side to side, but that’s never dampened her mood.  We’ve waved and shared very brief conversations when I haven’t had cars backing up behind me or she hasn’t had to perform crossing guard duties.

I recently shared the good news that I was expecting my first male grandchild in December, and she almost cracked her face wide open with her smile as she shared that she was finally going to get a female great-granddaughter.  “All of the others are boys,” she said, “this is the first girl!”

So, I have yarn, right?  I found some of the pinkest yarn I had and whipped up a small blanket for her latest family addition.  Now I just have to keep it in my car today and hope I catch her on duty soon.

It better be a girl.  That thing is so pink it might change the baby’s gender if it’s a boy and they wrap him in it.

    MS. DIVERSITY ☙ Tuesday, October 3, 2023 ☙ C&C NEWS

Good morning, C&C family, it’s Tuesday! Your roundup today includes: Dr. Ryan Cole multiplier; Tucker’s shocking interview with the usually-mild Victor Davis Hanson; I analyze the Trump fraud case some more; Tucker and VDH make some remarkable suggestions about what needs to happen; SADS homecoming queen; Wall Street Journal op-ed tears into the peer review process;  Newsom discovers (another) black lesbian to be California’s next Senator — from D.C., of course; and a dopey California bill competes with Amsterdam.

There’s an Army Post today, if’n you are so inclined to help out:

MULTIPLIER ORDERS: Dr. Ryan Cole has been ringing the bell about turbo cancer longer than anyone. Yesterday Dr. Cole, a board-certified pathologist who’s been ringing the alarm bells about turbo cancer since 2021, announced that he is financially struggling in his fight against the State of Washington’s medical licensing board. Dr. Lynn Fynn (derella) set up a donation site to help, and this morning we are rallying the C&C Army in support of this pandemic hero. The link to his donation site is: https://givebutter.com/8NRZcZ

If you donate, make your donation an amount ending in “2”.  Disregard the ‘extra’ fee thing, just something ending in two for the main donation : $2, $22, $52, etc.

Working together, each doing our own little part, we will send a massive message the Establishment apparatchiks will hear loud and clear. It works.

Now, on to the C&C news:

Yesterday, former Fox News correspondent Tucker Carlson posted a deadly serious interview with constitutional scholar Victor Davis Hanson, and sparks flew. If you tend to get anxious when hearing serious people talk about how deep we all are in the tomato soup, then you might want to skip the video clip, which is on the long side anyway. If so, don’t worry, I have some comments below to give you the gist.

I haven’t watched the video yet, since when I saw the link pop up yesterday I was doing other things.  VDH would be well worth listening to, IMHO.

The video runs about a half hour.

First topic was the Trump court case:

Imagine that you wanted to borrow $100 to buy supplies for your MAGA hat stand. I ask, “how’s business?” You say it’s great. Then I give you the $100, and a few days later you pay me back $120, just as agreed. I go away. Now the State of New York comes along and says, hey, when you said business was “great,” it wasn’t really “great,” it was only “okay.” You lied. Now we’re going to take your house.

That’s a simplification, but not an exaggeration.

Our legal system was designed to keep the government from just taking property on a whim – or as the political winds change. Just compensation must be traded.  Of course, banana republics ignore that basic rule of law…

Under long-standing New York and common Law, “fraud” is normally found when the state proves four things: (1) the defendant knowingly made a false representation, (2) to a victim who relied on the false representation, (3) the defendant intended the victim to rely on the false representation, and (4) because of that reliance, the victim was injured.

But the State of New York, applying an obscure, patently-unconstitutional statute that’s never been applied this way before, has stripped out all those common-law elements of proof of fraud except for the very first one: the false representation. I guess they had to keep at least one, and they picked the easiest to prove. It’s easiest to prove because all the the judge had to do were some back-of-the-napkin calculations and then say, yep, it was a false representation.

Childers points out that Trump is not being tried for fraud, but for “exaggeration”.  That is a dangerous precedent for us all.  This judge is deciding on his own to prosecute Trump for supposedly exaggerating his property values (and AFAIK, the judge is not an official appraiser), yet he decides that Biden didn’t lie.  Don’t believe your lying eyes, Biden is as clean as the driven snow.

Childers decries the lefties claiming that Trump’s “exaggerations” caused collective damages because he somehow, single-handedly, caused everyone else’s loan interest rates or insurance rates to go up.

But that’s just woke claptrap, of course, because Trump paid the loans back with interest, causing the banks and insurance companies to be even more profitable, which has the exact opposite effect as the silly leftists claimed.

    ***

…With Hanson in full agreement, Tucker soberly described our current political situation as a revolution in progress, a unique, defining moment in American history, an ultimate inflection point hurtling toward either salvation and redemption or complete destruction and dystopia.

I was shocked awake when, toward the beginning of the clip, Tucker even asked Hanson, “at what point do Americans take up arms?”  Hanson said Americans have been sleeping through the revolution, or mistakenly living in a cheerful fantasy that they can just stop paying attention to Hollywood and the NBA, cut cable, and move to a red state to escape the woke federal government’s grasping tentacles.

That is one reason why the left has always pushed for gun control confiscation.  As the bumper sticker says: “Fear the government that fears your guns”.

Here’s how Hanson ended his comments, which gives you the idea:

“Government can (now) go into a business — all of the business — and appropriate it, and destroy it, without cause. (They) think that’s not only good, but funny… ha ha. The idea is: we now have the power to do this. And because we have the power to do it, it’s moral and right, and if you don’t like it, what are you going to do about it?
And what ARE we going to do about it?
The only thing I can think of is, we’re going to have to humiliate and defeat these people at the polls. You’re going to have to have a 55% supermajority win to get anything done.
We’ve been complacent and culpable for allowing (the leftist spirit to take over our institutions). Now everybody according to their station is gonna have to say, you know what, there are TWO pronouns. I don’t care if you get angry. The date of this country is 1776. Got it? That’s what it is. And there is a border and we’re going to enforce it. And just say NO to all of these things and then welcome the opprobrium and the attacks that accrue accordingly, and welcome that as a badge of honor.
Because what’s the alternative? There is no alternative.”

Childers, ever the sarcastic optimist, doesn’t believe we’re in such dire straits. He believes in the inherent goodness and strength of the American people.

I’m not so sure.  We’ve imported a lot of non-Americans recently, and our educational system has destroyed our basic strength held in the younger generation.  Our system was designed for a well-educated populace, and we’ve lost that.

Next topic: the pollution of the scientific community, where “peer reviewed” articles are now “agenda approved articles”.  The revelation by certain folks that they altered their published results so that their papers would get published or that their grants would continue to roll in should frighten us all, since TPTB use these “experts” to pass their draconian climate change rules and herd the uneducated populace into their designated pens.

This op-ed isn’t the first criticism of the so-called “peer review” process, which some top scientists have long argued has become hopelessly compromised, and captured by pharma interests. The biggest problem, and threat to all our well being, a problem which became painfully obvious during the pandemic, is that government actors dangle grant money in front of unethical whitecoats to obtain fake studies supporting the officials’ preferred policy narratives. Even worse, they all conspire to prevent inconveniently-contradictory papers from ever being published in the first place.

Next up:  California is planning to allow Amsterdam type cafes where you can buy food, drink, and pot.

Childers points out a problem:  it wasn’t too long ago that smoking indoors was banned because it was so bad for everyone’s health.  But I guess pot smoke is magical in more ways than one…

Lung cancer? Secondhand smoke? Who cares! Second, serving coffee and weed? At the same time? Isn’t that mixing uppers and downers? Won’t something bad happen? Isn’t it like crossing the streams? /snuffle, snort

    I do love Childers’ style.

The only reason China doesn’t walk in here and take over is because there are more guns in private hands than there are people in America.

Otherwise, they would do it because the imbeciles in the Joint Chiefs are organizing Gay Pride events, Drag Queen Shows and DEI lectures while the White House empties out every armory and ammo facility we have in the USA.

This is what the Undersecretary of Defense and Comptroller of the DoD told Congress.

Every time the United States sends emergency military aid to Ukraine, the equipment comes from Pentagon stocks and makes them unavailable for U.S. forces around the world. Of the roughly $26 billion that Congress previously authorized to replace weapons and equipment for the embattled country, only $1.6 billion remains, Pentagon Comptroller Michael McCord wrote in a letter to House and Senate lawmakers.

    and,

“We have already been forced to slow down the replenishment of our own forces to hedge against an uncertain funding future,” McCord wrote. “Failure to replenish our military services on a timely basis could harm our military’s readiness.”

The Pentagon reportedly has about $5.4 billion left in presidential drawdown authority, which allows the military to send weapons quickly from DOD shelves on an emergency basis. But McCord wrote the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative is already out of money. Because weapons sent through the assistance initiative don’t come from Pentagon stocks, they don’t need to be replaced.

It is truly amazing how Democrats who don’t care at all about funding our American military act like savage, bloodthirsty warriors when it comes to supplying the Ukranians.

A new survey has found disgusting conditions at barracks and housing all over the country – rats, roaches, backed up sewage, lack of hot water, etc.

John Anthony Castro has filed lawsuits in several states claiming Trump is ineligible to hold office under section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which bars officials who took an oath to the Constitution and then “engaged in insurrection” from holding office. He asked the Supreme Court in August to hear his case after a federal district court in Florida dismissed his lawsuit due to lack of standing, a request that the justices have now denied.

Trump DID NOT ENGAGE IN INSURRECTION.  Any assertions to the contrary are nothing but hyperpartisan lies.  Remember the name John Anthony Castro; he is a walking stack of feces and is not to be trusted as anything but.

Vigilantism in America was rampant in the last half of the 19th century, before and after the Civil War, and reached its peak in the 35 years between 1865 and 1900.  As tempting as it may be, it is ultimately ugly and distorts the principles of justice.

A taxi driver in Sweden was found dead in the woods, and the identity of the prime suspect makes the case even more grisly.

According to the Swedish website Fria Tider, on March 26, an abandoned taxi belonging to a Middle Eastern taxi driver was found in the parking lot of the Hjälstaviken nature reserve near Stockholm. On April 1, the body of the missing taxi driver was found hanging in the nature reserve.

This story is already disturbing enough, but police quickly discovered that it may have been a form of vigilantism — spearheaded by a 15-year-old girl, her boyfriend, and her brothers.

The open borders, unfettered migration of massive amounts of impoverished, uneducated hordes across borders in the USA and Europe eventually beget these sorts of revenge, especially in law enforcement and judicial systems rigged to coddle the violent and savage criminals.

When any nation turns their justice system into some kind of squishy, new-age counseling program that pretends every criminal, every murderer, rapist and child molester is redeemable and misguided will eventually find themselves engulfed in uncontrolled violence.  Once that inflection point of lost faith is reached, the civil tide recedes and every once law-abiding man and woman becomes a dystopian warrior focused on survival.

Electrical equipment and jumper cables “consistent with devices used to execute dogs” were found in the home of a senior Pentagon administrator during a federal dog fighting raid.

I didn’t know the International Olympic Committee conducted a worldwide study of all athlete deaths between 1966 and 2004 covering almost 40 years.  The result was encouraging the implementation of cardiac examinations on all amateur and professional athletes to discover any congenital heart problems.  For those athletes surgery can’t cure they are not supposed to be allowed to play.  I don’t know how strictly this is followed in the USA and other countries, but we can assume the vast majority are diagnosed compared to previous periods in history.  This would rule out, presumably, congenital heart problems in the current list of casualties.

This group, Good Sciencing, has done its best to compile a list of amateur and pro athletes who collapsed and/or died after taking one or two COVID injections.  They don’t pretend it is comprehensive because, as they say, it would be impossible given the history of the last few years.

But given the graph, the number of collapsing episodes and deaths is extremely alarming in the over 2-1/2 year period between January 2021 and August 2023.

The above shows that in prior years, there were 66 deaths per year, but 96 were reported in the month of January 2022 alone, 416 in 2021, 791 in 2022 and 138 in 2023. None of these new deaths were reported to be due to congenital abnormalities, the primary cause found in previous years.Athlete collapses and deaths chart from 1st January 2021 to 31st August 2023. Interesting, informative article from from the guys at TIPP Polling, a close associate of Investors’ Business Daily and Issues & Insights.

Crippling Home Insurance Price Surges Squeeze American Homeowners

For a publication that believes in the fundamental power of free markets and capitalism, we are alarmed at how the home insurance industry’s corrupt behavior hurts Americans, fuels inflation, lowers affordable housing options, and inspires dishonest practices in the home repair industry.

A colleague showed us his Texas homeowner’s policy quotes for eight years. For a modest single-family home, the annual premium in 2015 was $1,006. For 2023, the premium had gone up to $3,271, an astounding 225% increase. Year-over-year, the policy hikes averaged out to 18.4%.

    and this,

What about the deductible? Many unscrupulous roofing contractors routinely promise to inflate the repair cost by the deductible. After the homeowner pays the insurance company the deductible, the roofing contractor cuts a private check back to the homeowner for the same amount. Problem solved.

In 2019, the State of Texas passed a state law that makes it illegal for a contractor or roofer to waive an insurance deductible. The Texas Department of Insurance created a special fraud unit that meets with local officials after a disaster and explains steps they can take to protect residents from contractor scams. But malpractice continues. The incentive for a homeowner to get a $20,000 roof replaced for about $3,000 (assuming the home value is $300,000 and the homeowner has a 1% deductible) is still compelling. Besides, it is good payback for having to pay those sky-high premiums year after year.

How Iranian spies have infiltrated the U.S. government.

The contents of the emails are damning, showing a group of Iranian American academics being recruited by the Iranian regime, meeting together in foreign countries to receive instructions from top regime officials, and pledging their personal loyalty to the regime. They also show how these operatives used their Iranian heritage and Western academic positions to influence U.S. policy toward Iran, first as outside “experts” and then from high-level U.S. government posts. Both inside and outside of government, the efforts of members of this circle were repeatedly supported and advanced by Malley, who served as the U.S. government’s chief interlocutor with Iran under both the Obama and the Biden administrations.

    From my #27

Why an Iranian operative is still at the Pentagon, especially in a job which gives her daily access to classified information that puts the country’s most sensitive military operations at risk, is another matter entirely. “The optimistic reading,” says Theroux, “is that they were watching her to see what she does and the FBI has her apartment all teched up. But to be an optimist you have to believe the FBI is clean, rather than see this as a huge counterintelligence failure. Though, of course, it’s not a failure if they were complicit.”

So far, however, the evidence points to a less optimistic reading: The Biden administration allowed Malley to push an Iranian agent into sensitive national security positions because she was best equipped to carry out the administration’s own policy—to appease a terror regime with American blood on its hands.

#30 TT:  EVERYBODY in the country knows that the border is not secure; everybody.  I hope that Bidet and Co keep on lying because it just turns more people away from the D party.  Logic:  If they will lie about something that is so easy to expose, what else are they lying about?  Lie about the little things lie about the big things.  In the case of the Bidet admin, they lie about everything.

There must be a huge purge in our government if there is any hope for our survival.

Any official, federal or otherwise that assists in getting illegal alien invaders across the border is guilty of treason as it definitely gives aid and comfort to our enemies while we are in a cold war.

I sure am glad I didn’t draft out the long, complex front page piece I was going to do for tomorrow from Lee Smith’s report in Tablet.

I’ve been following this this story for awhile because there were quiet rumors Robert Malley had mysteriously disappeared from the Whit House and State Department.  There are few people I despise more than Robert Malley and anyone who has memories of my investigative reports on Malley back on Lone Star Times might suspect it.  He is a mean and dangerous snake along with his close friend, Samantha Power, who is also an alumni from the Obama foreign policy.  She is head of the US Agency for International Development now, but was the US Ambassador to the UN under Obama.

By all means, do not miss the article Shannon links in #27.

Somebody want to explain to me how Matt Gaetz gets to make back alley deals with Democrats to throw out Speaker McCarthy who he has accused of making back alley deals with Democrats.  Yeah, that seems right.

The Democrats are loving this.  It falls right into their plan of undermining Republican leadership cohesion so they can end up forcing a much bigger giveaway to Ukraine than they thought was possible.  Watch for even more domestic spending increases as well.

I’m no McCarthy* fan, but I do understand political strategy and this looks magnificently stupid to me.

It took a coupla hours to get x-rays done.  There was a student watching, and the practiced individuals were explaining things to her as we went along.  I was impressed with the x-ray equipment – a hand held gun instead of a big machine, and x-ray chips that fed the images directly into a computer.  There were four different kind of chips for some kind of different imaging on the lower jaw, and those took longer because they had to be walked to a different room to be reviewed.

I started with one lady, but she had to depart for some kind of meeting, and I was handed off to “Josh”.  The departing lady assured Josh that I was “lovely”.

I guess that made it worthwhile.

I think you give Gaetz too much credit. I don’t think he had any back alley deal with the Dems. He knew none of them would rescue the Speaker.

This was Gaetz’ plan all along.

Part of the deal in January to finally get McCarthy elected was this insane rule change (insisted upon by Gaetz) that allowed any single member the ability to force a vote to Vacate the Chair.

Had some decent showers today, off and on. Thought my new porch gutters failed as it was overflowing on one corner. Turns out, leaves and pine needles in a valley worked their way down to the guards over the gutter and rain was flowing over them. Was able to reach up there and sweep the debris off and they are draining fine now.

One of the reasons I despise gutters is this and refuse to put them up unless absolutely required, which they are in this case.

I am thrilled that McCarthy is gone.  We need another in the same vein, if not the same intensity, as Trump.  The notion that the Rs can’t upset the Ds because the NYtimes or Washington Compost is going to say bad things about them is one of the primary reasons we got in this mess in the first place.  If the Rs were committed to doing the right thing, they would not care what the commies say about them –  or they would use the negative press as a badge of honor; the worse the better.  McCarthy is a wimp, he failed to get the single purpose major spending bills through the process.  This crap of waiting till the last minute and then caving to the Ds has to end today.  Put a good  bill forward for the DoD and let it stand on its own.  Defund the crap like Dept of Education, National endowment for the arts, Radically scale back the EPA, Gut the FBI, DOJ, and CIA until they can clean up their obvious hyperpartisan persecutions.  Gut the State Dept and re-fill it with those who want to put clean American Capitalism at the forefront.

At this stage of the game, looking at it in Biblical perspective; the time for playing nice is over, the notion that the tranny advocates have any sway on any decision whatsoever is beyond absurd and is an indicator of the times.  It has gotten to the point to where all the hills are those worthy to die on.  The current cowardice and corruption of our leaders has much greater negative consequences for We The People than at any time in our history.

    Yes, I know.

I actually followed pretty closely the drama of electing a new Speaker back in December 2022 and January of this year.  They all pissed me off to no end.  It’s not that I think these Republican members are insincere, it’s that I think many of them are unfortunately not very bright and most are incapable of big picture perspective and serious political strategizing. I’m sure they’re nice folks and have mostly nice families back home.

Most come from small, urban, densely populated districts or vast sparsely populated like a district in South Texas like House District 21.   All the sudden they get elected from a crowded neighborhood in Queens, NY or from Hondo, Texas and they are dumped into an environment far larger than anything that has ever entered their imaginations.

It doesn’t work that way and never has in the last 240 years or so.

I am thrilled that McCarthy is gone.  We need another in the same vein, if not the same intensity, as Trump.

What works well in the executive branch doesn’t transfer to a legislative body.  At any rate, a person like Trump would never settle for working in a giant committee of 434 other members.

McCarthy is a wimp, he failed to get the single purpose major spending bills through the process.

The single purpose bills failed because there wasn’t a large enough margin of steady, competent Republicans willing to vote for them.

Whose fault is that ?  Kevin McCarthy’s ?  How about the lame voters back in the home districts ?  Why didn’t they nominate and elect courageous, strong representatives ? Why aren’t the voters ever blamed ?

Defund the crap like Dept of Education, National endowment for the arts, Radically scale back the EPA, Gut the FBI, DOJ, and CIA until they can clean up their obvious hyperpartisan persecutions.  Gut the State Dept and re-fill it with those who want to put clean American Capitalism at the forefront.

These are great ideas and I agree with them all.  If the House were able to vote for these items tomorrow, they would all die in the US Senate and not just because of a technical Democratic majority.

And that would not be fault of Kevin McCarthy or any other Republican ever elected to be Speaker.

Sundown slid to 7:30 tonight. Here it is quarter to eight, and it is pitch dark other than for yard and house lights that come on automatically.  We do not have streetlights out here, although our two roads are Fort Bend County roads.  And that came about thanks to our neighbor across the road who moved into his new house a year before we moved into ours.  He sort of became “The Mayor” of our small subdivision and got things done.  This was not an elected position at all, but having been a landman for one of the large oil companies he was well versed in engaging folks in conversations about possible improvements around our place.

Our roads were gravel and dusty with occasional oiling, but they were county roads from the get-go thanks to our “Mayor” having spoken to our county commissioner who managed to arrange having the county try out a new asphalt mix on our two streets at no cost to us.  County wanted to see how that worked out before they ordered using that kind for other roads in the county.  It was good stuff, and in 40-some years is has been repaved only twice.  It has a very good foundation.  🙂

I went to the store for some things, like a knee brace, in addition to my antibiotics.  My knee is very, very painful this evening, but I still managed to stagger around the kitchen well enough to gather dinner, then I had to lay down to rest the leg.  I took a pain pill so I could function enough to sit up and try to get some Latin in.

One other funny from earlier today.  When Josh took over the imaging, he started to put a plate in my mouth on the left side.  Then he looked perplexed, took it out, and ran his gloved finger over my lips and took a look in my mouth.  “I had some molars pulled on that side,” I told him.  He replied “I see that.  I didn’t think I was going blind!”

We had a chuckle over that.

Gutters; I’m basically against them but when I put my new Pole Barn on a new pad of sandy clay and 3 of the sides slope down at a pretty good angle so I had gutters installed with downspouts that go into the woods. I had all 4 sides sodded but I still wanted gutters. Since there are several pecan trees close by I had Leaf Guards installed so I don’t have to clean the damn things out. We don’t have any gutters on this house or the farm house with the exception of a 6’X9′ section in a corner on the back side of this one. We have two valleys on the roof that bring down a kagillon gallons of water in a hard rain.    😉

TP 1945: Perhaps the root is closer centered to the fact that some/many of the Rs are far more concerned with maintaining their office (for power, prestige, graft, etc.) rather than they are about doing the right thing at the right time for the right reasons (kind of like what they promise in the primaries and general) and letting the chips fall where they may.  It demonstrates a lack of faith, character, and conviction.  Quite frankly, I expect a lot more from those who wish to be leaders; that we haven’t gotten much of that in the last 50 years or so is an indication of where we are as a culture – the prognosis is not good.

  66. Texpat Avatar

If you don’t like gutters, it’s fine, but don’t try to have flowerbeds and proper landscaping near the house or the erosion will be a big problem.

In the northeast and midwest where homes have basements, going without gutters is not an option.  Collecting and diverting water far away from the exterior walls of any house.  It is especially critical in areas with clay soil in which precipitation doesn’t percolate well in the soil and seeps against the basement walls to start creating leaks.  Underground drainage systems to the curbs are really necessary if you want to do it right.  Homeowners can’t cut curbs so they have to install surface level bubbler valves near the curbs.

TP 1945:  You are correct about the wimpy voters who elect ‘moderate’ candidates; it is hard to get the message across when the information pipelines are significantly censored/biased/lie via omission/selectively prosecuted in the leftist direction: intuitional capture writ large, like a brand of ownership, across the broad spectrum of Western Civ.

From a disinterested perspective, one has to marvel at success adherents of the leftist/satanist to enlist so many otherwise intelligent people to the long-term dedication to an abstract ideal; socialism, communism, fascism, islamism, that spans generations, that has failed each and every time it has been tried to continue to do it, yet again because this time we have the right people in charge.  The glaring, obvious failures; failures directly proportionate to the degree of implementation; never seeming to cross the threshold of perception for said proponents, gives credence to the explanation of the passage of the wheat and the tares:

    MATHEW 13:

36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away and went into the house. And His disciples came to Him, saying, “Explain to us the parable of the tares of the field.”

37 He answered and said to them: “He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man.38 The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one.39 The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.40 Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.41 The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness,42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!

The children of the evil one are going to promote his ways; they are making themselves known.

A comment tonight from University of Tennessee law professor Glenn Reynolds:

UPDATE (FROM GLENN): So what do I think? I think ousting McCarthy was a mistake. I’m inclined to agree with Rep. Thomas Massie, who pointed out that he was all-in on efforts to remove John Boehner and Paul Ryan, but says that McCarthy has done a better job of running the House than any GOP speaker in decades. I understand the anger over not getting regular order, etc., but this has consequences that go far beyond internal GOP politics. It’s risky.

How risky? Heck, if I’m the Democrats, I vote somebody tolerable as President Pro Tem of the Senate, then have Biden and Kamala both step down. With the Speakership of the House vacant, they could pick a succesor president that easily. If I’m Chuck Schumer, I’m scheming for that right now . . .

How does that sound, President of the United States of America Charles Ellis “Chuck” Schumer ?
