So I miss Monday altogether and no Tuesday. But we’re having awesome weather here in LA. I spent 8 hours on the Hustler and didn’t break a sweat, high about 88 with low humidity. SO coffee is ready and;

Dr phil amassed a fortune, selling out of his Special Liniment at Burning Man.
But got stuck before he could high-tail it out of town.
#32 – One would almost think it was late August/early September in Texas LOL
Another week of 100°+ F predicted.
Unbelievable.
Live streaming of proceedings will be available tomorrow at 9am.
What will the Texas Senate do? Especially in the first 12 hours?
It’s impeachment time in Austin.
My, my.
When the weather breaks and it’s just about cold, I’m going to keep a promise to myself and head down to the big water. I’ve put it off since June 2022.
A quiet time here, and a good way to enjoy a Labor Day weekend without hearing all the speeches. 🙂
26 Shannon I didn’t think Van Morrison would ever play America again. He was more angry than Eric Clapton over the Covid shutdowns and shuttering music venues that bankrupted so many musicians and bands. Morrison refused to book in the States for a long time. He is playing 3 nights in Las Vegas, 3 nights in San Francisco, 3 in… Read more »
Might as well play my second favorite song of all time.
I had a really nice Labor Day evening, sitting outside for the last four hours with friends in Raccoon Bend.
The fine SE breeze was very nice. Beautiful summer evening.
Not accustomed to suffering summer cabin fever.
They are an Aussie band if you hadn’t noticed.
Which……
well, you know.

Funny you should mention the drummer.
I have this crush, but I’m not certain I will last long enough for her to reach the age of consent.
Heh
Only sprinkle I saw round here was when I took Shortie out to “go walkies…” But we did manage to get my passel of chicken thigh quarters crock-potted, boned out and the meat in the fridge to cool… And tomorrow is another day, so it can wait til then to get frozen, unless I get to feeling froggy enough before… Read more »

There is something captivating about girl drummers. The Korean or Vietnamese girl drummer I saw on YouTube a couple of years ago was almost hypnotic. She was remarkably talented.
I’m so glad some of us have managed a sprinkle, here and there.
I’’m repeating this prayer for rain.
Yes, I’ve stumbled across another sister act.
The Sun was out again and trying to dry puddles. The yards and pasture were saying thank you the best they could. More clouds to the west but nothing looks like it holds anything of interest. Several hours later the puddles are gone, and the sidewalks and driveway are dry. Perhaps tomorrow will bring more rain.
Spent an hour and a half at the HOA party, lucked out and wasn’t raining during the event. Delicious hamburgers, I may not eat supper at all tonight.
In spite of getting up from a 2-hour nap to feed cats and critters, I may go lie down for another nap. I mean, why not?
The best thing about not wasting water during a drought is the grass and all the weak sissy weeds die.
The stuff that survives cannot be destroyed by a nuclear attack or fire ants so then you no longer have to worry about it.
Weak spell. It’s already over. /sigh
There is water falling from the sky!
What sorcery is this?!
Back from lunch at a neighborhood restaurant. Got there about 1:30 and missed the lunch crowd. Brought enough home for lunch tomorrow for both of us.
Sun is playing peekaboo this afternoon so another shower might come through here. Today does not seem like Monday. Naptime calls after that large (for me) lunch.
There was a quickie shower that popped up about 2 miles away from me in Burleigh, but that’s it so far. I have watered nothing this year but just now decided to let the hose trickle on the backyard crepe myrtle. I probably waited too long, but it won’t be a great loss. It was too big for the patio… Read more »
It looks to be 99° in Bellville with 41% humidity and 0.0 mph breeze.
No rain anywhere.
There is a 33% chance of a thunderstorm next Saturday predicted to dump all of 3/100s of an inch. Some thunderstorm.
The kids just called from Zurich and their flight to Geneva has been delayed twice. Hopefully, they’ll get to Geneva in time to go to the hotel, shower and change clothes before they have to leave again for the airport. I was a road warrior for decades and I can’t imagine doing it under the current circumstances. I don’t miss… Read more »
Just got my 2nd shower of the day so far, pounding hard rain.
Well we just got rain, and hard, that came and went fast, leaving us with 53/100s. So no watering plants today since Mother Naure just did.
Our daughter, son-in-law and grandson have been trying to get out of Europe and it appears little Petey Buttigieg has also taken over the aviation on the continent. They were vacationing in Lausanne, Switzerland and SIL wanted to go visit his only living cousins in a small town in Germany outside of Dusseldorf. He won’t take the 3 hour direct… Read more »
Our higher education industry is a trillion dollar wasteland today. Nine out of 10 higher education professionals are convinced that their institutions are churning out job-ready warriors. But employers, current students, and recent grads beg to differ. but, Citing surveys conducted by the Cengage Group and College Pulse, the collaborative report states that a mere 41% of recent graduates believe that their… Read more »
Got some real rain here within the last 10 minutes, all of 11/100s. Now it is clearing off from all directions. Weather folk did say it would be scattered. Yea, more coming from the west now at a pretty good pace. We don’t have to water the plants today.
Morning, chickadees. We’ve already had our first shower in Candlelight Oaks. We are having our Labor Day party at the pool/playground today, 2 – 6 pm. Me, I wish the rain would wait till after 6 pm this evening. At least Billy Cat was in the back yard, waiting for his breakfast, when I got up, so he ate before… Read more »
It’s not just prissy European tennis players who can’t stand it. Every single person who visits New York City is disgusted by our unofficial new scent: marijuana. And the truth is, so are most sane New Yorkers. As The Post reported on Friday’s front page, everywhere you go in the five boroughs now reeks of pot. Expense-account restaurants such as… Read more »

Gonna be interesting to see how the climate change dingbats deal with the truth of the matter that there is no Climate Change afoot, sayeth real scientists from various nations on the subject. What a fraud, but you can bet that somebody is making $$$ out of it before the fraud is exposed.

What struck me most about the thief was how overweight he was. No wonder his pants were falling down. If I were going to try my hand at thievery I wouldn’t be so fat that I couldn’t run away effectively.
Popped out my first batch of chicken stock “cup cakes” and got the molds refilled. As I was prepping to do that, I realized water was running off my counter and onto the floor. Turns out that I had bumped the handle of the water faucet that Hubby had installed for me a few years ago; his version of a… Read more »
It’s getting hopefully dark here at the Dome.
Still not holding my breath for rain. Clouds have been teasing me for months now.
Mean clouds.
Why is the State of Texas allowing some podunk place called Coffee City hire 50 police officers for a town of 249 people and collect over a $1,000,000 in traffic fines in 2022 ?
The store owners in California aren’t all passive weaklings. These jewelry business owners got rid of a thief family style.
You really should watch this one. The idiot bad guy ended up running down the street with his pants falling off.
I weighed my chicken this morning. I’m glad I don’t go by touch. What I thought was dry last night lost about 10 grams per tray overnight.
More Ukraine coverage. I tend to skip that stuff, since the narrative fluctuates so much. Next up: Climate Over 1,600 scientists have now signed a declaration titled, “There is no Climate Emergency. Here’s the link, share freely: https://clintel.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/08/WCD-version-081423.pdf SCIENCE! I think my coffee is done…
My sciatica wasn’t too bad yesterday, I almost felt normal. Got a lot done.
This morning? I had to carry my little blue stool around the backyard so I could sit down while I watered the remains of my garden.
I see Houston has a forecast of scattered thunderstorms this afternoon.
I’m not holding my breath. They’ll probably scatter all around me.
Amen to the “but first, COFFEE!!!!!”
Happy Labor Day! Don’t know how much or if I should eat some dry rub pork ribs but I’m gonna get the smoker going anyhow. Got them rubbed down last night.
But first, coffee!
