Another awakening:

Georgia Democrat defects to GOP after she says Dems ‘crucified,’ ‘abandoned’ her

Democrats have ‘gotten away with using and abusing the black community,’ Mesha Mainor told Fox News Digital

A Peach State lawmaker who angered her Democrat colleagues in the Georgia state House of Representatives over her support for a recent school choice bill has announced she is officially switching parties.

Mesha Mainor – a Democrat who has represented District 56 in the Georgia House since January 2021 – announced the decision shortly before noon Tuesday that she will switch her party registration to Republican.

“When I decided to stand up on behalf of disadvantaged children in support of school choice, my Democrat colleagues didn’t stand by me,” Mainor explained of her decision in a statement to Fox News Digital. “They crucified me. When I decided to stand up in support of safe communities and refused to support efforts to defund the police, they didn’t back me. They abandoned me.”

“For far too long, the Democrat Party has gotten away with using and abusing the black community,” she added. “For decades, the Democrat Party has received the support of more than 90% of the black community. And what do we have to show for it? I represent a solidly blue district in the city of Atlanta. This isn’t a political decision for me. It’s a moral one.”

/snip

Mainor said that she has “been met with much encouragement” amid her decision to switch parties and noted that it’s “humbling to be embraced – for the first time in a long time – by individuals who don’t find fault in a black woman having a mind of her own and be willing to buck the party line.”

Asked whether she believes she will face pushback from Democrats over her decision, Mainor said, “The most dangerous thing to the Democrat Party is a black person with a mind of their own. So, it wouldn’t surprise me.”

/snip

“It’s ironic. I’ll say every election year, I hear ‘Black Lives Matter.’ But do they? I see every other minority being prioritized except Black children living in poverty that can’t read,” Mainor argued.

/snip

Mainor’s decision to switch political parties while in office, which extends the Republican majority in the House, comes after former Georgia state Rep. Vernon Jones made the same move in 2021.

/snip

“Now, let me make one thing clear – I haven’t changed. The Democratic Party has changed. It’s become a toxic combination of radical leftists and liberal elites in San Francisco and Hollywood have taken over my former Party,” he added at the time.

*********

Wasn’t it Reagan who opined that he didn’t leave the Democrat party, it left him?  Here’s hoping more follow their lead.

    Good, good morning !

We have made it to this day without Her Highness breaking her hip and having emergency surgery although she can barely walk right now.  In 4 hours they will be replacing this worn-out part.

    Y’all have a great day !

    RE: OC story

Polls have shown consistently majorities around 80% among black voters supporting school choice and charter schools across the country in even the most Democratic precincts.

Democrat politicians don’t give a damn about their constituents.  The NEA and AFT are the two most powerful lobbying unions in America and they show up with cold cash as Dems stand in line like hookers on the street corner.

Texpat, prayers for your wife and you. I hope everything goes well and the recovery/rehab works out fine. In any case it’s going to be along day. I figure that all said and done your wife is going to be relieved that it all went better than she expected. Fingers crossed.

We arrived 10 minutes early and have now waited over 45 minutes to be admitted to surgery.  I understand surgeries can be unpredictable, but there has to be a better way.

I’m doing fine here except we’re now in surgical prep waiting, waiting….

    Thanks for the prayers folks.

The surgeon was just here and he said I can pick her up tomorrow.  He asked if she wanted to go home today and I said no.  We wanted her to stay overnight in case of any clots.

As I said yesterday, best wishes and prayers for a quick and complete recovery.  May God guide the surgeon’s hands.  And what Bsue said -patience for the non-patient.

Her Highness won’t be the only one going through the recovery.

Speaking of recovery, I had another really rough night, and the head isn’t doing so well.  I may have to go to the dentist, but the last time my jaw felt like this she couldn’t find anything wrong.  It’s those dang baby teeth I have.  Sometimes they just get stressed out.

I’m thinking I may be getting close to having my whole mouth redone with implants.  Mom had all of her work done at the dental college, and I checked them last night.  They do have a class for the type of work I think I’m going to need.

But the last time I went for that five hour long tooth extraction, I was told “I didn’t need to come back.”   I inherited the worst dental characteristics from both Mom and Dad.  Dad had the retained baby teeth, and Mom had those teeth that break at the gum line but have strong roots below.  I am actually missing – before extractions – adult teeth and had about 8 baby teeth.  The first baby cracked in college.  Dr. Payne (yes that was his name) told me that he’s seeing more of the retained baby teeth.  My current dentist has told me that I’ve actually worn the enamel off of the babies and I’m working “calloused” teeth.  I have to use the enamel repairing toothpaste.  Or else.

I have, or had, two wisdom teeth waiting in the wings, but the never came down.  I was hoping they would, because I have plenty of space for them.  Ah, well.

    Thanks, Mom.  Thanks, Dad.

     NO-SHOW ☙ Wednesday, July 12, 2023 ☙ C&C NEWS

    Roundup:

Good morning, C&C, it’s Wednesday! Your roundup today includes: another great order from Missouri v. Biden as the judge denies the government’s first motion for a say of the censorship injunction; Zuckerberg contradicts government lawyers in podcast interview; Smugnurse correction and update; vexxed Zelenskyy snubbed by NATO; tough Biden skips official NATO dinner; and an uplifting update on a young patriot.

    News:

Promising news in the Missouri v. Biden case.  The judge issued a 13 page denial of the government’s motion to stay its injunction forbidding the government from colluding with Big Tech to censor our voices.

…  Judge Doughty provided examples of clear censorship from each of the following federal agencies: the White House, the Surgeon General and his staff, the CDC, the NIAID, the FBI, the CISA, and the State Department.

The government’s misconduct was so widespread, one wonders what the federal government was doing during the pandemic apart from censoring Americans.

Sometimes it only takes reading one sentence in an order to tell which way the Court plans to go. Here’s that one sentence from this order:

CISA Director Jen Easterly views the word “infrastructure” [expansively] to include our “cognitive infrastructure,” which deals with the way people acquire knowledge and understanding.

That’s a long list of alphabet agencies.

Easterly’s remark was not just a throwaway line. CISA is part of Homeland Security, which has jurisdiction over the Nation’s “critical infrastructure.” Easterly meant that “cognitive infrastructure” — our collective brains and the thoughts in them — are part of the country’s critical infrastructure and thus subject to HomeSec oversight and control.

Orwell himself would never have believed that a real, unelected, unaccountable government official said something that sinister.

Indeed.  But we are living in Orwell’s time now.  Or almost.

Mr. C. had to issue a correction in his S&U death list from a short time ago.  A 34 year old social media darling known as “Smugnurse,” or “Smug” to her followers, had suffered effects from the jab but had NOT passed away.  Her first picture shows a very attractive young lady, but the second picture is quite different. Mr. C. was intrigued by her case, though, and today he gives more of a follow-up on her and her condition, and how it tracks with the censorship issue above:

By the most recent information, she’s still struggling with serious health issues related to a stroke and post-craniectomy infection leading to a cranial staph infection.

…“Smug” to her followers — expressed vexation; she was quite beside herself that the government wasn’t doing MORE to stop “those people” from spreading misinformation about vaccine injuries. She said she was “over it.” She wanted to see some “consequences.” https://www.tiktok.com/@smugnurse_/video/7221982433820806443

She was effective in her efforts to shut down “misinformation” about the vaccine.  But then..

A couple months ago in May, Smugnurse posted a video TikTok update about her deteriorating health. At that point she’d only had her stroke, but not yet the painful hallucinations. You can see from the radical change in her features and body composition that the stroke was not the only health issue she was struggling with. Smug looks like a completely different nurse: [insert image of a not healthy Smug]

    Smug had a cerebellar / brainstem stroke…

Here is her June 30th update, the one I reported on last week. Despite Kaleigh’s awful behavior during the pandemic, and the manifest suffering she caused to people trying to warn others not to take the shots, it’s impossible not to feel sympathy for what she’s going through now: [insert horrific description of brain injury and related symptoms]

Surgical debridement after a craniectomy does not sound like anything anybody would wish even on their worst enemy.

To be clear: I am praying that Kaleigh has a full, quick, and miraculous recovery that confounds her doctors and testifies to the great glory of God. I also pray this experience opens her hardened heart, and helps her find a more secure spiritual home and something greater to put her trust in besides man’s efforts.

Kaleigh is a single mom. I pitched in on her GoFundMe this morning:

I’m skipping the Ukraine/NATO story.  But at the end of it, there was the mention that Biden skipped a dinner because of “his tough schedule”.  For him, a “tough schedule” means shortening his afternoon nap.  But that’s just me.

The term “sundowning” was mentioned, linked with dementia.

    Ummmmmm, yep.  Probably.

  15. Tedtam Avatar

Finally, an uplifting local story to put some gas in your Wednesday tank. It all started when veteran Pastor Rick’s middle grandson was upset by his school’s complete failure to mention Memorial Day because the school was so wound up in its “pride” celebration. So the young man wore flag pants and a flag as a cape to school. He went viral because unpatriotic school officials forced him to take off the flag and hide it in his locker.

There were also reports (unconfirmed) that other students tried to put “pride” stickers on him and his friends.

[image of a young man approaching a school, flag cape flying in the wind]

So, after spending a day cape-less, the oppressed young patriot went home and came up with a new plan. Here’s what he wore to school the next day (video at the link): [image of his complete flag outfit, sans cape. Shirt and pants were all flag. He topped it all off with HUGE red cowboy hat.]

From the comments, one man described his father’s “sundowning” behavior, which included wandering around doing bizarre things all night.  He says sundowners are often tired because they don’t sleep at night.

I’ve seen the signs watching Biden. Even back when he was campaigning from his basement in 2020. More so now. It’s the shuffle walk, (his gait) slightly bent over, slurring of words, confusion mid sentence, the slaughtering of word pronunciation, and the dazed & confused look on his face. The doctor who continues to pronounce Biden is fit for Presidency is a lying liar.

  17. Tedtam Avatar

And the story about Biden’s abuse of his staff?  The curse words that “turns on” Joyless on The Spew?

I’m so sorry! Cognitive diseases are definitely awful. My father also developed belligerence & violence which he never, ever, displayed during his entire existence pre-Alzheimers. It’s horrible enough to have to stand by and watch your loved one “disappear” before your eyes but then turn into someone completely opposite of who they were. Please tell your sister to check into possible support groups for caregivers of dementia & Alzheimer’s patients. She needs all the support she can get now.

I’ve reported twice now (the latest was last night) on the efforts to suppress “Sound of Freedom”.

American Thinker reports on it, too, and the “no air conditioning” excuses are piling up.

If there is any substance to a campaign to suppress the box office of SoF, the film’s distributors have the potential for a humongous lawsuit, probably involving triple damages.  Such a campaign, if real, would leave evidence of a conspiracy in the form of emails, telephone calls, and other forms of communication.  I can’t believe that theatre managers would cut their own revenues spontaneously.

The comments on the video provide the names and locations of specific theatres, giving attorneys for the distributor a road map to investigate.  If there is any substance to these suspicions, I suspect that we will know about it soon enough.

That would be a beautiful, beautiful thing.

  19. Tedtam Avatar

Despite the left’s efforts to “debunk” “Sound of Freedom” as: QAnon, make believe, distorted, etc. – here’s video of the actual sex party arrest portrayed in the movie:

What breaks my heart?  The kid asking for cocaine or something to get through what’s ahead.  “They usually give me something, because I’m really scared.”

    #19 Texpat,

Does the hospital have accommodations for spouses to spend the night in the patient’s room?

The original and very advanced Fort Bend County Hospital in Richmond is not part of a chain and is a very fine hospital equal to the large branches of the three big Houston Med Center hospitals now also in the county.  It has some specialties the other three don’t have, as it began as the only hospital in a rural county that had several large business including a very large Imperial Sugar mill as well as many surrounding ranches and farms.  Currently Fort Bend County has around 750,000+ residents and is growing so fast it is expected to have 1,000,000 residents not many years from now.  People are fleeing Houston these days and coming out here as well as to growing towns in several other adjacent counties.  Elbow Room is the reason.  And so are politics, as Houston has been taken over by Democrats, but just about everybody else around remains mostly Republicans.

Finally feeling like I want to sit up.  I’ve been fighting the woozies and vertigo all day, along with a mild headache that wouldn’t go away.

I’m guessing I’ve come down with another inner ear infection.  The last time I felt anything like this, the doc said I had a viral infection in there.  Not much I can do but wait it out.

Obama bad behavior on his way out of the White House – his team attempted to sabotage Trump on his way in

Like I didn’t need more reason to despise that waste of oxygen.

The Daily Signal has been able to get 217 pages from the National Security Administration (NSA) under FOIA. Those pages show the huge effort to “torpedo” the Trump administration before they even took office with an effort to go after Gen. Michael Flynn, the man who would be National Security Advisor for President Donald Trump.

Flynn’s conversation with the Russian ambassador in the period between November 2016 and Jan. 2017 was intercepted by intelligence officials for the Obama administration, and then his name was unmasked.

The Signal requested the information in March 2021 and didn’t get the documents until June 30, 2023.

Among the people was then-Vice President Joe Biden.

The documents reveal that Obama administration officials, from Vice President Joe Biden down to several ambassadors and many officials in the Treasury and Energy departments, gained access to secret information about Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, President-elect Trump’s choice for national security adviser.

The documents obtained by The Daily Signal include raw information of requests and other messages from these officials to the National Security Agency in late November 2016 through early January 2017, as well as emails among NSA officials explaining why the information was shared.
