The impact of illegal immigration on our public schools:

Most significantly, the analysis finds that the nation’s decades-long policy of bringing more than a million legal immigrants to the U.S. annually while continuously adding to the 11 to 22 million illegal alien population has “added disproportionately to the number of low-income students in public schools.”

“In 2021, 21 percent of public school students from immigrant households lived in poverty and they accounted for 29 percent of all students living below the poverty line,” the analysis states:

The lower income of immigrant households likely creates challenges for schools in some areas because tax contributions generally reflect income levels. As a result, immigration can cause a significant increase in enrollment without a corresponding increase in tax revenue. [Emphasis added]

The House Homeland Security Committee, chaired by Rep. Mark Green (R-TN), issued a report last week that detailed mass immigration’s impact on public schools.

“The number of Limited English Proficiency (LEP) students flooding American school districts is starting to overwhelm public schools,” the report states:

In Fairfax County, Virginia, LEPs made up nearly 20 percent of total enrollment, with the LEP budget increasing $1.5 million from FY19 to FY20. In Buffalo, New York, the LEP budget increased from $12.9 million in 2018 to $20.4 million in 2020. In Indianapolis, the number of “English learners” in the public school system in 2022 had increased by 27,000 from 2016. [Emphasis added]

Portland, Oregon schools are “scrambling” to place more than 800 new LEP students. And in Rockland County, New York, more than 1,000 children have been added to county school districts. One estimate has found that federal and state public school expenditures for illegal aliens or the U.S.-born children of illegal aliens may be as high as $75 billion. [Emphasis added]

With the Biden Administration every state is now a border state. With all that’s going on now including Hunter’s slap on the wrist and all the FBI and I.R.S. whistle blowers being ignored by the D.O.J, White House and the complicit Lame-Stream media, what you want to bet that Biden WILL NOT be the next President? I know that sounds stupid but if so, I give you the Neanderthal from Pennsylvania.     Yes the House will go on with their “Investigation” and maybe even Impeach the Doddering Old Fool in the White House but we all know that nothing will come of it and the Lame-Stream media will spin it as totally political and then the election stealing will continue at an unrepresented rate. Can’t let the adults into White House to “Clean House” can we? ~SPITS~

With that, it’s the Weekend and I’ll not let all that steal my joy.

I woke up to a light show and thunder boomers here but no appreciable amount of rain. I checked the radar and it’s coming a frog strangler down around Enterprise and New Brockton so sister is getting some serious rain. This is of course as usual she almost always gets more rain than me.

Since this is a weekend replay I’ll see if I an find my post from early Saturday morning, I saved it somewhere but when I posted it, it went Poof, gone without a trace or explanation. I think Texpat said my post would often bypass the spit bucket and head straight for the big dumpster out back.

My #2 gone, Pooof again, what is it about that post? Is “Neanderthal” considered a bad word? As a Side-Bar I posted something over yonder that had an objectionable word and it was flagged, The bad word you ask? It was “Hump” as in my Dad flew over the hump form India to China on photo recon sorties in WW II.

Typically Sold-Out Garth Brooks Plays to a Half-Empty Arena: “It Was Embarrassing”

When country superstar Garth Brooks puts on a show, it typically sells out. Seats almost always sell in the secondary market for thousands. Last night, the singer learned that vilifying your own fan base and calling them a-holes is a costly endeavor.

In his first live appearance since the speech that lost him millions of supporters, Brooks filled The Geico Memorial Arena in Jostenberg, Illinois to just over 50 percent capacity.

“It was embarrassing,” said tour manager Joe Barron, “Poor Garth was waving people from the nosebleed seats to come down front. None of the floor seats sold. It was sad.”

Brooks has another show at the Haremfeather Norfolk Amphitheater in East Chicago next week that he’s considering canceling.

“I’m pretty sure if I just don’t show up things will be alright,” Brooks reportedly told his good friend Art Tubolls of the Chicago Bulls, “considering there’s a good chance that town doesn’t exist, will they miss me?”

Brooks was laughing from inside his new bar in Nashville, “Friends In Low Places,” while drinking a Bud Light. “I’m pretty sure they’ll buy anything so long as it punishes ol’ Garth,” he chuckled.

It’s true that if the venues are fictional that the stories could be, too, but does he really need to shove it in America’s face by drinking a Bud Light? For shame, Mr. Brooks. For shame. God Bless America.

    What a condescending A-Hole!

Mark Levin had the new Missouri Attorney General Will Scharf as a guest last night.  What an impressive, articulate guy this young man is.  I think Scharf is only 37, but he has taken over for the excellent former AG Eric Schmitt who has gone on to be a US Senator from Missouri.

Levin asked him to address the indictment of Trump by this Jack Smith crony of Merrick Garland.  Scharf methodically and concisely took the whole indictment apart technically and on principle and he did it in layman’s language.  If this had been the closing argument and I was on the jury, I would vote not guilty on all counts.  I hope Trump’s lawyer’s were watching.

Scharf is also continuing the litigation Schmitt initiated against the US government over the COVID lockdowns and mandates that has discovered volumes of damaging, incriminating evidence against the Fauci, Birx, Collins, Walensky cabal.

The whistleblowers, IRS supervisory criminal investigator Gary Shapley and a second unnamed IRS investigator, provided evidence to the House Ways and Means Committee that top Justice Department officials stonewalled an investigation into Hunter Biden’s taxes and foreign business ventures. They also call into question President Biden’s repeated denials that he has no knowledge of his son’s business dealings.

Here are 16 of the biggest revelations from transcripts of their interviews:

    (REALLY) BAD OPTICS ☙ Monday, June 26, 2023 ☙ C&C NEWS

    Roundup:

Good morning, C&C, it’s Monday! We roundup a couple bigger stories this morning: first, despite withering criticism from a few loud commenters, it turns out I was right about the new Russian Revolution; a (Western) world of Pride Parades will make you questions whether civilization deserves to survive; and Merrick Garland proves how fair and equitable is the Department of Justice.

    News:

I told you so! It took fewer than 24 hours for the “Russian Civil War” to completely resolve and disappear like the morning dew off a HIMARS missile casing. You’ll recall that, as of Saturday morning, corporate media was completely distracted by the Proxy War, 100% convinced that THIS TIME, that no-goodnik Putin was finally going to get what was coming to him.

Yeah, I was shocked, too. /not/  Putin doesn’t put up with crap.  I saw a headline where he threatened the leader’s family.  Again, not shocked.  Putin is a thug.  Why wouldn’t he go for the low blow?  But then, politics is full of those things.  Just look at the Dems in our country.  They also have no moral standards. None at all.

    Next up: Disney

Let’s check in with Disney and see how the entertainment giant is doing. Last week Fox News ran an inglorious story headlined, “What Disney’s Executive Exodus Means For CEO Bob Iger.”

Two top c-suite executives have recently fled the mega-entertainment giant: CFO Christine McCarthy, and Latondra Newton, who — as you can guess by the name — was the company’s Chief Diversity Officer.

    Disney’s stock is at a five-year low:

Disney’s latest office box showings have flopped.  They’ve lost over $900M and now they are culling their payroll by laying off thousands of employees.  They want to trim over $5B in costs.  Yeah, being an  imagineer creating woke movies may not pay well these days.  But if you work at the parks, for some reason folks are still going there.  That hot Mickey costume may be what keeps the Disney ship afloat.

  13. Tedtam Avatar

    More C&C:

Mr. C. discusses the various offerings by the greatest-sin groups:

The Seattle P Parade featured a lot of male nudity.  (Frankly, some folks just need to cover up that hot mess that use for digesting food and performing other bodily functions.  Just because you can doesn’t mean you should.)  In Minneapolis an more mature and also not-so-shapely man was twerking in his tightie whities in front of a bunch of kids. Maybe seeing those not-so-sexy bodies on display may turn off some young kid considering that lifestyle.  I can hope.  BTW, those parents ought to be brought up on child endangerment charges.

There was also literal barking at a street preacher.  Showing what the demons in side of these perverts are really like?

Speaking of demons, there’s a pic of Nazi Pelosi waving the latest version of the pervert flag.  Takes one to know one, I suppose.

And I’m sure most, if not all, of the Couch Denizens have heard about the NYC parade where the chant was heard about coming for our kids.  OUR kids. Our grandkids, nieces, and nephews.

In one of many similar reports from the NYC parade, a group of mostly-peaceful LGBTQIA+ folks physically attacked a former trans rights activist who was just holding a sign that said, ‘Defend Female Sex-Based Rights.’

    Because tolerance, right?

Similar weirdness was celebrated in France, and Toronto.  In Turkey, however, that crap isn’t allowed.  Cops shut down those parades toute de suite.

I searched for “Pride Parade Russia” and “Pride Parade China” but found nothing. Zero.

Good for them.  They have their own problems, but I can back them on this.

In reviewing these scenes — and many others — I encountered a range of thoughts and emotions. First, I think it is far too simple to say “let adults do what they want as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone.” If that is true, then explain all the historical laws against public intoxication, public obscenity, and public nuisance. What didn’t our predecessors know?

Second, what exactly are these parades celebrating? I mean, EXACTLY? Spell it out for me. Because watching them, it is difficult to avoid a clear sense that the celebration is really about the corruption and collapse of the traditional male identity into full-on depraved licentiousness.

Finally, at some point, I started becoming less offended by the perverted displays IN the parades and more offended by the people who were attending, especially those dragging children along. It is difficult to fathom how any parent with intact, functional protective instincts thinks their children would not be harmed by seeing … whatever this is. [emphasis mine]

I’m praying this is the year that the Pride Parades went too far. Otherwise, it’s hard to imagine what next year is going to look like. Stock up on eye bleach.

  14. Tedtam Avatar

    Jude Chap 1 [emphasis mine]:

16 These are murmurers, full of complaints, walking according to their own desires, and their mouth speaketh proud things, admiring persons for gain’s sake.  17 But you, my dearly beloved, be mindful of the words which have been spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ,  18 Who told you, that in the last time there should come mockers, walking according to their own desires in ungodlinesses  [Jude 1:18]  19 These are they, who separate themselves, sensual men, having not the Spirit.  20 But you, my beloved, building yourselves upon your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,…

    More and more signs…

  15. Tedtam Avatar

Next up, Mr. C. discusses the DOJ.

Late last week, the U.S.’s evil grandmother, Merrick Garland, mounted the official podium and whined about all the people criticizing the Department of Justice. He admitted the DOJ’s critics claim the agency is biased, corrupted, and weaponized are wrong. But, to prove just how neutral, unbiased and not one-weaponized the DOJ is, Garland labeled all the people who criticized the agency as dangerous underminers of democracy:

“Some have chosen to attack the integrity of the Justice Department by claiming that we do not treat cases alike. This constitutes an attack on an institution that is essential to American democracy… Nothing could be further from the truth.”

    /snip

…Yesterday, House Oversight Committee James Comer responded to Garland and claimed in a tweet the DOJ is actively obstructing the Committee’s ongoing investigations, and said Grandma Garland has single-handedly destroyed the DOJ’s already-waning reputation.

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz (R-Tx.) also doesn’t think the DOJ is unbiased and not-weaponized. In fact, Senator Cruz called Garland a liar and a fraud.

    https://twitter.com/tedcruz/status/1673123056326156289

The DOJ needs a major hosuecleaning.  All parts of it.  The corners, under the rug, etc., and the scurrying roaches should be dispatched. Without prejudice.

I’ve had this site up in my browser for a while, but I just can’t seem to get around to reading the document.  Here it is, for those who want to peruse it:

The pharmaceutical industry is dangerous to health. Further proof with COVID-19

As shocking as this information may seem, similar to tactics used by criminal organizations, the pharmaceutical industry pays for its influence (bribes) of doctors, academics, journals, professional and patient organizations, university departments, journalists, regulators, and politicians by distributing money or rewards to them in exchange for their approval the company position. The progressive corruption of science by the pharmaceutical industries has become so great that it threatens the health of millions of people every year and results in the deaths of thousands. The pharmaceutical industries are, therefore, guilty of organized crime, which should be recognized as a crime against humanity.[ 77 , 145 ] In the final analysis, the fundamental objective of pharmaceutical companies is not to protect the health of the population, but, first, to ensure a return on investment for their shareholders.[ 17 ] “These shareholders cannot be held personally responsible for the wrongs or torts of the corporation. Only the corporation itself is liable, that is, a “legal person” without any concrete existence.”[ 17 ]

The purpose of this article is to:

Expose the basic techniques used by the pharmaceutical industry to manipulate science

Specifically on during the COVID-19 period:

    • Describe the main pharmaceutical companies involved during COVID-19
    • Analyze physiological data from vaccination and social measures to determine if known health guidelines are justified
    • Study the conflicts of interest and relationships of the pharmaceutical industry with governments, international organizations, and media.

Morning, chickadees. Several of my cats woke me up and insisted I get up. This has never happened before, so I assumed I must have overslept. I sat up and reached for the alarm clock. Heck, it was 30 minutes before the alarm would go off. But Lynx and Tyler were acting like they’d die unless I fed them, immediately. So I got up and got everyone fed. I planted my comfrey seedlings this morning; they got big enough that I can toss them into the cold, cruel world.

I gave one of them to my neighbor across the street.  I had to warn her to plant in a “permanent” place because she’ll never get rid of it.  We talked briefly about the pros and cons, and I told her to do her due diligence about the uses of the plant.  She was happy to have it.  She likes to have a nice garden, and comfrey is pretty enough to just have it to look at.

More green beans this morning, and one tomato.  More on the vine.  Oh, and I found a pickling cucumber that I didn’t know existed until I walked around the back side of the vine.

Okay,  I have a load of broccoli for my first “real” run with Elsa.  Hubby installed the valve to let me air condition the mechanical room where Elsa lives.

I added twelve hours of additional drying time so that I’ll have plenty of time to get to the trays before Elsa goes back into freeze mode after the drying cycle is finished.  If the cycle ends in the middle of the night, or while I’m out, I won’t have deal trying to test cold food for cold spots, etc.  More drying time certainly won’t hurt the food.

Got that suggestion from the RA40 MeWe group.

  24. bsue54 Avatar

Tedtam,  when Elsa goes from “drying” to extra-dry time, you’ll see the little arrow points going up and down, and you can adjust the extra time then.  That’s when I was told to weigh the trays, and put in for 2 hours “extra dry time” – to see if there was any more weight loss (I’ve been doing mine in 2 hour increments – unless it gets late – then I run it up for as long as I think I might sleep, and check when  I get up.  And you can add more “extra” time, IIRC, just about anytime in the extra time (since I’m not there – and can’t see the screen – I think the arrows up and down stay visible during the extra time – and you can press “cancel” to stop Elsa, open the valve to release pressure, open and weigh, then choose “more dry time” and get a prompt to close the drain valve, and get it going again.  Hope that makes sense.  (I don’t know if I still have MeWe – maybe I should look LOL). Just did so – still works, just haven’t been there in a coon’s age. User name there is just my first and last name – no feuding’ hillbilly name in the middle LOL

  25. Tedtam Avatar

Yeah, I’ll cancel the 12 hour thing when I’m ready to check the trays the first time, then add 2 hour increments after that.

It would just suck that the process would end at 2:00 a.m., then Elsa decide to freeze the food for safekeeping before I got up.  It’s hard to check for cold spots, etc., when the food is cold.

  26. bsue54 Avatar

Tedtam – Yes – I understand  that concept… and, for some reason, even if I sleep thru til the time I normally get up and go check, I seem to not feel as rested…  Also, I believe the freezing “when time is up” is the reason for “warm trays” – I guess that you’d be able to feel the cold spots better, if the trays were warm.  But I’ve been assured,  from several reputable members, that a 2 hour period of “extra drying” with no further loos of weight signals that it is well and truly dry.  Just to be on the “safe” side – if one tray still needs another “extra dry time” all of mine stay in.  AND I asked to join the MeWe RA40 group as well.

Take care of yourself, Texpat.  We want to keep you around.

I just checked on Elsa, and she’s putting out some heat.  Hubby’s valve on the air duct is helping immensely; the temp is under the high limit warning level.

I feel safe enough with her environment now, so I won’t worry about her running all night without me checking on her.  I found my keto crock pot recipe book, and I’m getting all excited about cooking up some of those recipes.  Many of them wouldn’t dehydrate well, but they’d handle freeze drying quite well.

It looks they’re going to do it.

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy clarified on “Fox & Friends” Monday that Republicans fully intend to begin impeachment proceedings against Attorney General Merrick Garland by July 6 following the bombshell IRS whistleblower testimony that he interfered in the investigation of Hunter Biden.

IRS whistleblower, Criminal Supervisory Special Agent Gary Shapley Jr., a 14-year veteran of the agency, blew everything wide open last week. He explosively testified that Hunter Biden was given preferential treatment by investigators looking into his tax affairs and lying on his gun permit application.

Shapley testified that a WhatsApp message was sent by Hunter Biden on July 30, 2017, to a Chinese Communist Party official named Henry Zhao. It openly threatened him and ordered the communist official to follow his “orders” and pay up or else, while asserting Joe Biden was with him in the room. Shapley alleges he raised concerns about the WhatsApp message to DOJ prosecutors, who ignored him and obstructed justice over it.

There is a lot more at the link.

I have stated here my past disgust, derision, disappointment, loathing and disdain for past presidents in my lifetime, most but not all Democrats.  I never felt unqualified hatred for a president until Joe Biden, but if I had been alive in 1917 I would most certainly have hated Woodrow Wilson.

Here Vivek Ramaswamy has an op-ed in front of the paywall in the WSJ:

Congress obliged two years later by enacting the Espionage Act with the express purpose of quashing dissent. The law criminalized not only spying for enemies, but also any attempt to encourage “disloyalty” among military ranks. Prosecutors enforced the act aggressively, using it to imprison hundreds of antiwar activists and political dissenters. The Socialist former presidential candidate Eugene Debs was sentenced to 10 years in prison in part for denouncing the Espionage Act itself. The law was also used to charge religious leaders who preached pacifism, newspaper editors who republished German accounts of the war, and even the producer of “Spirit of ’76,” a film about the Revolutionary War that portrayed Britain, a World War I ally, in an unfavorable light.

    and,

Instead of periodically pardoning defendants, commuting their sentences, dropping charges and apologizing for prosecutorial abuses, we should admit a century-old policy mistake and repeal the Espionage Act. If I’m elected president, I’ll urge Congress to do that—and order the Justice Department to stop enforcing the act in the meantime.

Consuming Brussels sprouts in excess may not be suitable for people taking anticoagulants, such as warfarin, since they contain vitamin K, a blood-clotting factor. In one incident, eating too many Brussels sprouts led to hospitalization for an individual on blood-thinning therapy.
