Seems like things get too serious sometimes around here. To lighten things up a bit I figured we could delve into the architecture

Maybe not, ELG.

”How long does the shingles vaccine last? Studies show that protection remains higher than 85% within the first four years of vaccination. While protection from the shingles vaccine gradually wears off over the first five to eight years”

I think the Shingrix vaccine is good for 10 years. But I don’t have to keep track of that, my PCP will do that.

Thanks for the tip on the shingles vaccine.  Had them a couple of years ago, but I think it’s time to reload.

In other news, night all.

GJT is pretty sick about the OC porch thing.

Yeah that’s the version I should have done. I just had to have this one re-shingled. Original bast*rds didn’t do it right.

Glad she told me. It is now covered 100% by Medicare. Saving me over $400.

Really! In February/March 2021 I paid $180 for the first shot and $195 for the second one! Both at CVS. FWIW; I really liked the first one, given by a little Oriental gal. 😉

Last Fall my pharmacist advised me that I should hold off on the shingles vaccine because rumor had it that Medicare was going to cover the entire cost after the first of the year.

Glad she told me. It is now covered 100% by Medicare. Saving me over $400.

Thanks, taxpayers!!!

Not that anyone is interested but I’ve got the old GMC loaded up for a “Road Trip” to Clear Lake and then on to Bastrop. The good news is that my wife is going with me, she’s attending a Hen Party on Friday night (in Clear Lake) and I’ll be heading to Bastrop Friday afternoon after having lunch with my… Read more »

Cooling down all night long out here and then not going back up tomorrow.  Greenhouse is still standing despite the strong winds today.  Rose bushes, all in large pots, are still hanging on.  Hedges are showing no signs of putting on new leaves at all, but they may just be late bloomers – or they may be dead.  I’ll know… Read more »

I got a call from my church tonight.  It seems Fr. Felix wants to move forward on a rosary apostolate and they are looking for someone to teach a rosary making class. Guess who’s already got class notes well under way, beads are being counted out, and shopping lists put together?  The lady on the end of the phone was… Read more »

Tucker’s about to talk about the revival in Asbury, KY.  It wasn’t planned, totally spontaneous, started by students, and now folks are driving in and it’s been going for over 100 hours and shows no sign of stopping.

Worship, praise, and conversions are happening.  Sounds like Heaven.

I’m sure there are some lefties absolutely seething.  Too bad.  Their loss.

Literally.

February 13, 1924 – Forest Oil adopts Yellow Dog Logo-  Forest Oil Company, founded in 1916 as an oilfield service company by Forest Dorn and his father Clayton, adopted a logo featuring the two-wicked “yellow dog” oilfield lantern. #29 – Actually it is just outside the greenhouse.  That green plastic is the front of the greenhouse.  Got lots of bluebonnets all around this year, but this is the first little bloom trying to pop out.  The rest of the plants look good and healthy though since they’ve had a little rain plus a water assist from me as… Read more »

Then there is this. Each year, around 60,000 high-flying balloons are launched just by the National Weather Service, the agency said. They rise into the stratosphere, a layer of the planet’s atmosphere that extends to a height of roughly 30 miles. The balloons used by the Weather Service are designed to rise 20 miles up — far higher than the… Read more »

Looks like “isolated thunderstorms” for my neck of the woods this afternoon, so I scrounged up some cutting tools and did a bit of trimming off the ligustrum bushes in the front yard. Dick Morris, the strange little dude, has some opinions on Joe, Barack, Michelle and the Hillary. There are millions of people’s pension and IRA accounts taking a hit on this disaster in Ohio.  Norfolk Southern Railway is 42% owned by Vanguard, Black Rock, JP Morgan and other investment and mutual fund operators.

In the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, mRNA vaccines hold great promise because of their low risk of insertional mutagenesis, high potency, accelerated development cycles, and potential for low-cost manufacture. In past years, several mRNA… Read more »
