Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
We would like to welcome our two new members of the Hamous.net Mac Family, Texpat and Shannon. After 14 years of harassment, cajoling and Windows machines crapping out they have joined the dark side.
There is a life lesson to be learned here. Be very careful of who you allow into your circle of friends. Long haired bearded truckers are a persistent patient lot. We will cause you to do things you never thought you would do. Mac. It just works.
Morning gang. 51 degrees out here this morning. Headed for another beautiful spring day it sounds like, with winter returning in a couple of days. Almost full moon hanging up there this morning shedding light on thing here on planet Earth. I might do a little more planting today, but my little greenhouse is getting full of peat pots with… Read more »
It’s Monday and time to start a new week. A tolerable 41 here and I’m off to the woods, later.
Mornin’ Gang
Night all.
Probably coming in on the tail end of the Vacuum Sealer discussion? As stated a few months ago I bought the Commercial Grade Primaltek 15″. See link below for popular brands and comparisons. Primaltek will set you back about $400.00 and might not be what you are looking for? I use my Vacuum Sealer for many other applications other than… Read more »
MH42 supper: Gorton’s fish sticks with tartar sauce, garlic mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts; beverage: milk. Dessert: a yummy stuffed doughnut from a box of them I got at Kroger bakery today. Never had one of those before. It wasn’t a conventional doughnut with a hole in the middle; conventional doughnut with a sweet pudding-like middle.
I don’t know if any of y’all are watching 1923 but we watched the latest episode, #5 and as usual it ended in another Cliff Hanger. FWIW; I think 1883 and 1923 are better than Yellowstone and the wimmins agree. BTW; Sister can’t get Paramount so she likes to watch the series here. That way her and the wife can… Read more »
#120 Shannon, Since I usually fix supper here when sister comes over, (almost every Sunday) she wanted to bring some mustard greens and field peas and let me do the rest. Well I wanted Dairy King Broasted Chicken so she brought mustard greens, field peas, tater salad and carrot N raisin salad. When I went to get the box of… Read more »
We have a Food-Saver (I think that is the “popular brand” GJT may be referencing)… Have had it for many, MANY years, since before Squawk’s Dad died… I use it in fits and starts… Buy meat in large packages and Seal in meal sized smaller packages, and vacuum seal things in glass jars as well, with the jar adapter. When… Read more »
Chicken fried chicken turned out really good.
Don’t remember the brand of my vacuum seal machine but it is that popular one. It doesn’t automatically seal after vacuuming anymore, you have to manually hit the seal button just the right time. I forgot Squawk’s trick with juicy contents.
Hey, Grandpa.
Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo.
Yesterday there was another near miss between a couple of commercial airliners at Austin. Here’s our good friend Juan Browne with his take at blancolirio. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SvUOHa8n7aQ This follows on the heels of a near miss at JFK not too long ago which would have rivaled the Tenerif accident a few years ago that killed almost 600 people. The only person… Read more »
Good news that Tedtam had a good visit and got home safely.

Good things to cherish, many very simple but important in memories of loved ones. Little things do mean a lot.
111 – I just use an Amazon Basics and it works just fine for me. Also came with extra rubber seals for when the first ones wear out, which hasn’t happened yet in 2 years. I don’t do a lot of sizable items. For instance, I had to cut a brisket in half to seal them separately due to size,… Read more »
We talked about vacuum sealers before.
Im going to pay attention this time.
Y’all know the story by now. Mom never had a dish that either of us long for.
But I’d give my left……uh…..leg for some of Fay’s potato soup, right now.
Or her pan fried chicken.
Or her Ranger cookies.
Not to mention her potato salad.
Good times. 🙂
yo all you cooking/outdoorsey types
What’s a really good vacuum sealer? I have one already, but it’s about to exit the scene toes first.
Recommendations?
I never would have thought you was some sort of animal perv.
Forgot to mention that the after-dinner topic is the sex life of sharks. Shark exhibit is coming there in a month or so. This is gonna be interesting.
The Houston Museum of Natural Science branch in Sugar Land is having its yearly Valentines Day dinner in the museum. We’ve been to previous Valentines Day dinners there and enjoyed them very much. They are catered and all have been wonderful. There is always a program on an item on display or coming soon to the museum as well as… Read more »
Yeah, I remember mine being my mom’s roast beef.
Innit it funny what they ax for once they’re out on their own?

Yep, I still have my 2011 Corolla, and have also kept David’s 2013 Corolla. Both are low mileage and in good condition, so I doubt I will ever have any other car.
I’m returning home from my weekend with LD&Fam. Wonderful memories made and lots of hugs in my cuddle tank. Listened to parts 2 and 3 of Fr. Ripperger’s lecture on brainwashing. After the physical breakdown on how we form our thoughts and opinions he began comparing those patterns to education, media, government, etc. Let’s just say he’d fit right in… Read more »
My new monitor cable and UPS unit aren’t going to be here until sometime tomorrow so installing the Mac will have to wait until then. Now all I have is this little iPhone.
The frozen sewer drain has finally been thawed out up on Ramapo Mountain. Now the kids can go home and I can have my bathrooms and laundry room back.
mharper; I found you a Badge for your Toyota.
Assuming you HAVE a Toyota, I know you got rid of your fine old truck but isn’t your car a Toyota?
Nice outside! Went to the Office Depot and bought an ink cartridge, should get me through 2023. Came back by my Kroger on 43rd, but didn’t find much in the way of dog/raccoon chow, except for those 50 lb bags. There was so much ruckus last month when I bought one of those, well I just wasn’t up to another… Read more »
Boy I’m really excited now that I know GoopeeCon extraordinaire Chris sunewnu is thinking about running for president in 2-O-two-four. I haven’t been this excited since GoopeeConette Nikki Haley announced she will run in 2-O-two-four. in other news the odds have increased to 4-1 that blockquotes will be victorious in the Super Bowl over SD. Anyone else notice how quickly… Read more »
Up to 71 out here and still rising under bright sunny sky. Light wind, and it feel good outside. I opened up the greenhouse and it was borderline hot in there but still very humid. I put a little water in the seed pots that I’ve already got in there and mixed up another batch of squash seeds in peat… Read more »
Good Morning Hamsters, Lots of high clouds moved in after a mostly a blue sky and sunny early morning. Made it to 71, and it should be a nice day before the next front comes rolling through. JOKE OF THE DAY: A man was talking with a neighbor across the fence… The neighbor said, “I have lived next door to you and your family for almost thirty years; and none of your four boys have appeared to be employed. They went to college for years, and I got various invitations to graduations. What is the story?” The… Read more »
As luck would have it, I saw the shoot down in real time. I got suckered into a Fox show yesterday because Ret. General Jack Keane was being interviewed about the CF and they had the balloon floating in the inset screen. Then BOOOM the Black Reporterette interrupted him to say that it was blown to smithereens. FWIW; Fox maintained… Read more »

Mark and Mike Patey
Fascinating stuff. I was nervous for them.
My Dad always planted his first crop, Irish Taters and English Peas on George Washington’s Birthday, February 22.
My printer was 110% out of ink this morning, so my print-out of the HouChron sudoku was still just a blank page. First time in decades that I worked the puzzle w/o enlarging it. I already had it cut out of the page it was on, but I sharpened my pencil and was able to get ‘er done. I need… Read more »

It should be apparent to anyone half way paying attention that the Biden Crime Family and the Communist Chinese are working hand in hand on this SpyDuck Balloon venture just as they are on many other projects. We let it fly all over the country, sending back all the data, and once it’s mission is completed, we shoot it down… Read more »
Oh and Happy Birthday to GJT Jr.
CRAP! I just realized that my boy will be 35 in July! How can that be? Since Daughter is older we’ll just not mention her birthday or age. 😉
I know right!
I just passed through the den and one of the network talking heads shows was on. It was muted but the caption at the bottom was about China and the spy balloon. They had their panel of, hee, hee, ahem, “experts” on and one of them was Buckwheat. BAWHAHAHA one of THE dumbest Bastards ever to be allowed on TV.… Read more »
