Naw, I am the last. Dang blast it, I just wasn’t able to go to the Old Gang party. I felt like I was coming down with something, but nothing much came of that. I know I’m sick of the cold weather.

Nothing new to report from out here.  It’s a little early for bed just yet, so I’ll find something to watch for a few minutes and then turn in,  Hope I don’t wake up and find that big old Chinese weather balloon staring at me through the window.  I’m totally amazed that the Chinese have bought off enough of Biden… Read more »

That front came through this morning and left a scant .32″ of rain but we’ll take it. Then the sun came out and it has been bright an sunny all day, high right at 60 but after dark the temp dropped like a rock and it’s 46 now. Likely low 30’s in the morning, so much for our 3 warm… Read more »

So, there I wuz, sittin’ in the recliner with Lil Dawg watching The Five and the wife calls. She’s in Podunk (stimulating the local economy) and wondered if I wanted to meet her at Our Place for supper…. Let’s see, Friday night special is Fried Catfish AND you can get them fried whole, count me in! So as usual I… Read more »

Not much of consequence going on here today other than laundry done and putting together a lunch of mostly leftovers from yesterday and the day before.  Everything actually blended well and came out as if I had purposely planned it. In some ways spouse and I are now dining somewhat like we did when he was in grad school and… Read more »

Shannon, then you’d HATE this pizza crust recipe… but we love it. I guess that’s what makes the world go round.  Katfish – I think you are right about it being at Krogers… I make this on a large lipped cookie sheet – brush the pan with shortening, and pat the stuff down just about as thin as I can… Read more »

You can’t get a pizza crust too thin for me. Can’t stand it when it’s thick and bread-y.

#64 – Mannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnny mQQns ago I recall some sort of ready made pizza dough balls (total guess – at Kroger)

All ya had to do was bring it home, let it rise in a covered bowl, then roll it out to your preferred size / thickness. ‘Twas pretty darned good crust!

No pizza in the freezer.

Thanks for the offer, but I’m fine with frozen.

And we have a new pizza joint in town that is pretty darn good.

The last thin crust Red Baron frozen pizza I bought was really quite good. I, of course, doctored it up with lots more pepperoni, jalapeños, mushrooms, and some extra mozzarella.

Shannon – did you find a pizza in your freezer? I can send you the recipe for the best pizza crust ever, and the jarred pizza sauce isn’t bad – we’ve used both Mama Maria’s and Classico. We’ve actually been known to freezer half of one because I make them on a BIG cookie sheet… but usually we have leftover… Read more »

All the outdoor plants that have been under the tarp for the past few days got a breath of fresh air and some sunshine today, even if it wasn’t all that warm – low 50’s.  May get below freezing tonight, but not for long, so I’m just going to leave them uncovered.  Opened up the greenhouse that I was keeping… Read more »

I have a couple friends that run Windows with Parallels or Bootcamp.  They never boot into OS10.  I asked them why didn’t they just get a Dell all in one or something like that.  they said they followed my lead and bartered for the machines so they use them.

Our uncle, Dad’s older brother, claimed to have bought the first Apple computer in the Houston area.  He had read about the small startup in California and saw a small ad for them in the back of a magazine.  He called Apple, ordered a computer and mailed them a check.  He had a business trip scheduled to the West Coast… Read more »

ABBOT FOR KING 2024

Shannon

This was a pretty good stretch of cold weather for us.

Gov. Abbott was brilliant to borrow George Bush’s weather machine, causing an I-35 ice storm from San Antone to Dallas. Downed power lines reduced demand, leaving plenty of grid power for us in East and West Texas.

Texmo Really at the end of the day it does not matter to me what anyone uses.  I have used every iteration of Windows including CE from 3.1 up.  I figure people gotta use what they are familiar with.  If they decide to switch to apple because of discussions with me well that is cool but I do not get… Read more »

I really wanted to buy a Mac while in college Apple groomed the yutes early, my son begged and begged for a Mac when he went to college in 2010. We were afraid to and talked with the school’s IT guy who would be the one having to deal with it for the most part. He was ok with it… Read more »

I had a Mac years ago when I was in university and I really liked it. That was before PC’s went with the windows format. Work life forced me to leave Macs but, now that I have retired I would consider one. This puter I’m on is getting ready to give up the ghost I think.

Inferior Chinese steel? Shoddy engineering? Graft? Corruption? I’m sure that as these stories spread that the wheels will slowly come off China’s Belt & Road program. Of course that is after they screw over a bunch of 3rd world developing nations to the tune of billions. American Engineers pull out the microscope when they deal with Chinese suppliers.
