Well That was brutal, the Georgia Bull Dawgs whooped TSU Horned Frogs 67-7, eviscerated one reporter said and I guess he was right. I was hoping for a better outcome but TSU don’t have anything to be ashamed of, they were simply out played and did make it to the finals #3 in the country.

Well POOF! And it was gone?!?! My #2 not quarantined  just gone.

It was about Biden hiding Documents when he was VP and the fact that he’ll NOT have any trouble, no armed FBI Thugs raiding his Beach House at 3 AM.

Look it up I can’t link it.

Morning gang.  I gave up on the game of the century at halftime last night and came home.  Looking at the final score, looks like it was more of the same.  And I have to assume the Dawgs took their foot off the gas in the later part of the game or it would have been worse.  TCU just being there was a big plus for their program and shows that some of these private schools can compete if they are willing to commit the work, the money, and the support to their programs.,

Might try to do a little house work today, but first, I’m going to TOK for the Olde Pharts Coffee crowd.  Headed up into the 80’s today I hear.  Every spring the weather wants to trick the plants and trick me into doing my spring work only to blast it all with a big freeze right at the last minute.  It’s way too early to start trimming around since winter has barely gotten started.

OK, you all have a great day out there.  More later as it develops.

Yo Shannon, I tried the baking soda thing in the hamburger meat making Sloppy Joes last night. The hamburger meat cooked up incredibly, nice texture, did not even have to drain it but it had an odd flavor. You ever had that? Maybe I used too much? I put 1 3/4 tsp, 2lbs meat.

  9. Shannon Avatar
    Shannon

    Yes, that is too much.

They recommend 3/4 of a teaspoon dissolved in a little water for 1.5 lbs.

Which seems impossible to incorporate but it works.

And let it sit for while.

  10. bsue54 Avatar

#8 GJT – the page I found on google suggests 1/4 tsp baking soda per pound of ground beef, so the strange flavor may just be the result of too much baking soda…

  11. Shannon Avatar

I flatten the meat out and sprinkl it around, so I don’t have to work the meat too much.

Pea soup for in Glorious Copperfield this am; 58 degrees when I left the house and it was 63 when I got to the office.  Fog is now lifting and it should be a beautiful day.

Bidet kept top secret/SCIF files, which he purloined while VP, in an unsecured location.

The Crack Hunter Biden laptop full of crimes has been in FBI possession for at least 3 years and no charges, indictments, nothing but crickets.

Hitlery and her unsecured server.  Benghazi.  Billions unaccounted for while she was SoS.

Eric Fartswell and his fling fling with Fang Fang – no penalty whatsoever.

This is damning evidence of criminality of the players above AND the complicity of the FBI and DOJ in covering up these crimes.  The FBI and DOJ are hopelessly corrupted and need to be shut down, the top 5 layers need to all be thoroughly investigated by  neutral third parties, including forensic accountants, and most, if not all imprisoned for lengthy terms, forfeiture of any and all pensions, and barred from ever serving in a public capacity again.

I’m listening to Chris Salcedo via Rumble this morning, and right now he’s interviewing a guy about the border.

He just made a point about the physical damage to the border.  I’ve seen pics for years about what has happened to the ecology on the border.  The mountains of trash – backpacks, water bottles, etc. – that the illegals just drop so they can be ready to run is humongous.  They also destroy natural watershed points like gullies, etc.  When you run thousands of feet (many of them clad in pieces of carpet, which also get left behind), changes the natural water courses of the area.

This happens on private land, too, where ranchers have their cattle field butchered ‘n stuff.

    Where are the tree huggers?

    CLASSIFIED SQUID ☙ Tuesday, January 10, 2023 ☙ C&C NEWS

Good morning, C&C, it’s Tuesday! Your roundup today includes: lots more info about that CTV reporter who had what looked like an on-air stroke this weekend; more info on Thailand’s Princess Bajrakitiyabha; The new Republican Congress starts fulfilling campaign promises; democrats’ double-standard machine shifts into high gear as Joe Biden found keeping classified documents in unclassified places; and covid experts roll out a terrifying new variant name. You’ll never want to go back in the ocean.

I saw the classified papers headline on Bongino Report yesterday, but didn’t go read the article.  My thoughts immediately went to the double standard journalism we have now.

As per yesterday’s concerning video of a Canadian journalist who appeared to be about to have a SADS event on camera, Canadian TV reports FOR HER that she’s doing well and this has nothing to do with the jab or the WLR.  (She has been jabbed x 3.)  Then CTV shut down all of her media accounts and prevented comments on its own social media.

    Because she’s doing so well.

    Prayers for her recovery.

  18. Tedtam Avatar

And some good news: Republicans actually start out with something they campaigned on:

The new Republican Congress has started fulfilling campaign promises. Late yesterday they voted to de-fund the 80,000 new IRS agents that Biden ordered as part of his plan to “combat inflation.”

    And more good news:

Also, Representative Mike Rogers, who recently lunged at Representative Matt Gaetz during the votes for Speaker, has announced he will step down from the House Steering Committee.

  19. Tedtam Avatar

Now, for Childers’ take on the documents brouhaha:

Apparently, Joe Biden was storing some classified documents at a commercial office building in Washington, D.C. , where six years ago he’d leased an office for his money-laundering outfit, I mean his “think tank,” the Penn-Biden Center for Diplomacy & Global Engagement:

    /snip

Before the midterm elections, CBS News reporters got an anonymous tip about the documents, disclosing that sensitive classified documents including nuclear secrets were laying around in Biden’s old office, which was “secured” by a single lock on the office’s front door.

So of course, CBS told the DOJ and kept quiet.

Emphasis is mine.  Remember when Trump was accused of having nuclear documents just laying around on the floor?  Of course that was debunked in media not acting as an arm of the demoncrat party.

Showing uncharacteristic sensitivity, grandmotherly Attorney General Merrick Garland waited until now, safely AFTER the midterm elections, to acknowledge the story and assign the case to a US Attorney … but in Chicago, of course. You gotta love that city.

CNN said the unsecurely-stored classified materials include top-secret files designated “sensitive compartmented information,” or SCIF, meaning the super-highly sensitive classified information originally came from U.S. intelligence sources. The New York Post reported that the Penn-Biden Center’s DC office, where the classified documents were “stored,” was paid for by donations from China…

    From OTL over yonder:

    Spindletop oilfield discovered
    January 10th, 1901

On this day in 1901, the Spindletop oilfield was discovered on a salt dome south of Beaumont, marking the birth of the modern petroleum industry. Pattillo Higgins, the “prophet of Spindletop,” and others had tried for years to find oil on Spindletop Hill, but with no success. In 1899, however, Higgins hooked up with Anthony F. Lucas. Despite negative reports from contemporary geologists, Lucas remained convinced that oil was in the salt domes of the Gulf Coast. On January 10 mud began bubbling from a well that Lucas had spudded in the previous October. The startled roughnecks fled as six tons of four-inch drilling pipe came shooting up out of the ground. After several minutes of quiet, mud, then gas, then oil spurted out. The Lucas geyser, found at a depth of 1,139 feet, blew a stream of oil over 100 feet high until it was capped nine days later.

A later update yesterday said that, very publicly, Mike Rogers apologized to Gaetz and Gaetz forgave him, and Rogers will continue to serve on the Committee.

  22. Tedtam Avatar

Then Childers reports that TPTB, being disappointed by the new jab rates, has decided that the variant name XBB.1.5 just isn’t scary enough for the sheeple.

    Wait for it…………..wait for it…………….waaaaaiiiiiitttttt:

Then over the last few days, corporate media has been valiantly efforting a salty new movement to brand the next variant with a more memorable name than a bunch of capital letters and numbers. Unfortunately, they may have overshot the mark — just a smidge — when they hysterically labeled it, “the Kraken.” I am not making that up.

    /snip

(The “real” Kraken is also fictional. So. Just saying.)

On the other hand, variant XBB.1.5, a/k/a “the Kraken,” is a tiny microscopic virus that causes a mild cold in some people…. Well, except for triple-boosted people, who are at highest risk of hospitalization, and are being advised by experts to take MORE of the magic jab juice. You see, the trillions of tiny spikes filling your veins are like little-bitty harpoons to attack the microscopic kraken virus.

/snip – and cutting out some really well done sarcasm

Well, as Childers points out, the original Kraken concept was also fake.  Maybe there is some comparison to be found.

A Fox reporter, Anders Hagstrom, writes an incomplete collection of historical anecdotes recalling fights among Congressmen and Senators.

One of the first widely recorded incidents came in 1798 between Roger Griswold and Matthew Lyon, a pair of lawmakers from Connecticut and Vermont, respectively. Griswold called Lyon a “scoundrel” during a disagreement, considered an aggressive curse at the time. Lyon responded by spitting in Griswold’s face, and the two then went at it until their colleagues separated them.

The pair weren’t done, however, as Griswold again attacked Lyon a few weeks later, this time using a cane. Lyons defended himself using a pair of fire tongs, according to the Congressional Record.

There are other accounts almost always involving South Carolina members, obviously a bunch of violent SOBs.

However, Hagstrom left out one of the most famous incidents in the District of Columbia.

Let’s turn back the clock to April 13, 1832. That evening, Congressman William Stanbery left his abode at Mrs. Queen’s boarding house and went out for a walk along Pennsylvania Avenue. As he was crossing the street, he encountered Sam Houston — a former Congressman from Tennessee — and two members of the U.S. Senate who were on their way to the theater.

The chance meeting between colleagues was hardly serendipity.

A harsh critic of President Jackson, Stanbery had recently lambasted the administration’s Indian policy on the House floor and suggested that Houston had worked with government agents in defrauding Cherokee Indians while he was the Governor of Tennessee. Houston had not taken kindly to the accusations. He had demanded an apology and made overtures about a duel, both of which Stanbery ignored.

But, it was hard for the Ohioan to ignore Houston as they stood face-to-face on the street… especially when the swinging started.

Still steaming from the Indian policy speech a few days before, Houston purportedly yelled, “Damned rascal!” and began beating the much-smaller Stanbery with his wooden cane. In defense, Stanbery pulled a gun from his pocket. However, the weapon misfired and only served to further enrage Houston and incite more blows with the cane. When the bludgeoning finally ended, Houston continued to the theater and Stanbery staggered back to his room at Mrs. Queen’s.

    and then,

The incident sent shock waves through the city and up Capitol Hill. Congress ordered that Houston be arrested and tried. Despite the best efforts of his lawyer, Francis Scott Key (yes, THAT Francis Scott Key), Houston was found guilty of Contempt of Congress. Still, the incident proved to be mostly a win for the former Tennessean. Because of his political connections, he was reprimanded but not censured. In other words, he got off easy.

The Stacey Abrams campaign reported more than $1.4 million in debts Monday, after a blockbuster 2022 election that saw the operation raise more than $113 million.

    and yet,

Be smart: AL Media was the campaign operation’s highest-paid vendor, receiving nearly $54 million to produce ads and purchase extensive TV and radio airtime.

Stacey Abrams owns AL Media lock, stock and barrel.  Their commissions were $8,100,000 plus any extra fees for ad production costs.

Running for political on the big stage these days is nothing but a giant grift.  How many millions out of the 54 landed in Abrams pocket ?  One helluva a lot, I think.

People were asking why whackjob John Bolton is going to run for president in 2024.  He gets to raise a few million, tons of free publicity ratcheting up his name recognition, adds “former presidential candidate” to resume and can pay himself a lucrative salary from campaign funds while running.  He has no illusions about winning because this is a huge PR campaign to get more cable TV and radio gigs as well as book deals.

Bernie Sanders’ campaigns have run all of their print, internet, TV and radio ads through a little company solely owned by his wife operated out of a house they own in Virginia.  I think she netted close to $900,000 on his last primary campaign alone.

If you wonder why incumbent politicos with no chance of losing an election run a ton of ads during their campaigns, now you know why.  When your daughter or brother-in-law owns the ad agency you use they get the 15% cut off the top of all ad expenditures.  If a candidate spends $80 million in a senatorial race, the ad agency keeps $12 million in commissions.  That is a lot of dough to spread around.

I haven’t seen it suggested for anything other than when browning ground beef.

It has something to do with changing the ph of beef, allowing it to brown and not break down completely and lose all of its moisture – which can turn it into flavorless, grey, dry, pebbles.

The ground beef that I cooked was from the same pack we got from Costco that we divided up, I don’t remember if it’s 80/20 or what it is but I know it puts a bunch of moisture out. Using the baking soda I did not even have to drain it. I can’t wait to do chili with it to get that texture.

Maybe Ted Nugent would hire an attorney for the taqueria shooter.

Isn’t time for raids on Mike Pence, too??

When I “googled” the baking soda thing it said to add about 1/4 tsp per pound – mix it in and let it rest for 15 minutes before cooking it…I patted my hamburger into the skillet – sprinkled on the 1/4 tsp of baking soda, mixed it in, and patted it back into the skillet and it is resting now. (It will ultimately get mixed into a pot of Spanish rice but we’ll see how it looks beforehand LOL)

The offers are coming in hot and heavy.

Well, I got a bit of exercise before the Sun winked out on me. I confess I piddled around all day — I mean when I was vertical — and didn’t get a move on till almost 6 pm. I raked part of the driveway and bagged up some of the dead vegetation that came down with the last good rain. If I wait until CoH pickup day, I’m lucky if I manage to get the house trash in the bin and rolled out to the curb.

    Good Evening Hamsters,

A beautiful day slides into night, and it nice to know that Pubbies returning to Austin have a huge surplus of $$$ to work with.  How about the first thing on the list is lowering property taxes as had been proposed?

I must report that the baking soda in ground beef yielded  plump, moist, browned little clumps of meat, instead of it crumbling to tiny little grinds. I’d say this is something I will remember to do because it performed as advertised, AND didn’t change the flavor at all – using just 1/4 tsp of baking soda in 1 lb of ground beef patted out into the skillet, sprinkling to on, mixing it in, patting it back down and letting it rest for 15 minutes before cooking it.

I actually did a few hours of billable work today. It was good to exercise the brain. I’m extremely grateful I can bill part time to this project.

I had to stop my “nibbling” of food. It caused severe gastrointestinal distress. I’ll try again starting Friday. It’s frustrating that such teeny tiny portions caused such pain and discomfort.

Working a few hour gives me something productive to do. These last 10 months have been difficult as I’m the type of person that is always doing something. There are times when the stars align and my pain/discomfort is minimal and I’m very lucid and I’m just bored out of my mind.

I’d love to tackle a few honeydos, clean the garage, prune some bushes, etc.

I’ve been down with injuries and back episodes, but never anything like 10 months.  I sympathize with your frustration though.  Get well.  Soon.

Wife is breathlessly watching the globe awards to see how the movie Elvis does. Austin Butler who played Elvis won best actor. She went crazy. I think there are other categories the movie is nominated for.

I can’t stand watching, it’s mostly all about LBGT____ freaks. Oh, and PoC.

Texmo, I don’t know if your church has this, but in the Catholic faith we have the opportunity to offer our sufferings to Jesus, to combine with his sacrifice, for the redemption of sin and the conversion of souls.

I had some internet connections that reminded me of that in the first few weeks after my surgery.  I had beaten them to it.

Small as my pain is in comparison, I hope that offering it up did some good somewhere in the cosmos.

Man, think of all the souls you could save! 😉

Getting late out here, so I’ll be turning in here soon.  Been trying to wear my glasses today and still trying to adapt to the bifocals.  I may go ahead and get another pair of progressive lenses here soon.  My computer screen seems to fall somewhere in between what I need for the distance viewing and the up close viewing.  We’ll see how that goes.  I might make another trip to Brownwood tomorrow and check it out.  Meanwhile you all have a good night.

TexMo, I’m glad that you are able to do a little work.  I always have difficulty concentrating like I need to when I’m dealing with pain.  Keep on chugging right along and making progress.

    Nite nite.

Good Night Hamsters.  Lovely moon tonight as it has been for the past few nights; it is just past full now but gorgeous still. Seeing the moon in a beautiful night sky is pleasant just before bedtime.
