Yikes, so SWS powers that be have fallen prey to the siren song of the lefty bunch in the US in trying to turn everything into socialism ASAP. Could be the French portion of the company is the most guilty in this matter since France has gotten itself messed up with socialism along with most of Europe to one degree or another.

There is a get-together planned for February, for people who worked together on the real-time drilling software at the “old” SLB sites in Sugar Land and in Houston. There hasn’t been one of these since the Jabdemic messed up everything. Quite a few of us are retired now, and some will have a long drive to get there, but with this news about the new company name, I’m sure there will be a good turnout.
I can’t tell you how saddened I am to read that about Schlumberger. The ground rumbling under your feet is the sound of hundreds of thousands of Schlumberger hands, vendors, customers, admirers and oilfield hands rolling over in their graves. It’s disgusting to trash a venerable, historic name like that, erasing the memory and akin to removing historic statues across America.
54 GJT Was the original line under the rocks? Yes, but the proper way to do it in this situation is to dig/cut a trench at least 24″ X 24″ and pack gravel and sand around the 4″ line so there is a cushion in the unstable, shifting rock layers. It’s obvious this developer/builder cut corners in places and didn’t hold to that. That’s a big job, I assume equipment can get down there? Oh, it’s going to be very tricky and access is narrow so the machines can’t be very big. 48 BC This is my daughter and son-in-law’s… Read more »

Naw, back arrow will suffice. But someone can delete my #53…
As a retiree from Schlumberger, I get a massive letter at the end of every year (since 2013) explaining any changes. Well, this change has sort of depressed me: Schlumberger announced its new name, SLB, underscoring the company’s vision for a decarbonised energy future and affirming its transformation from the world’s largest oilfield services company to a global technology company focused on driving energy innovation for a balanced planet. The legacy Schlumberger brand and nearly all of its affiliated brands now exist under the new SLB brand, which introduces a refreshed visual identity, including a new logo for the company – a… Read more »
My internet networking project got laid out, and all the tests I’ve run indicate that it is a success. I get the same signal strength in the back bedroom on one satellite device as I get in the den where I relocated the main mother ship router, and also the same in the kitchen where I had another satellite device take the place of the router that I moved. Both satellite devices can now connect with the mother ship router and are putting out a strong signal. I haven’t checked it out outside yet to see how much coverage I… Read more »
Tater Soup it’s what’s fer supper! My wife got back from California today and her batteries are a little bit run down so I figured tater soup would be just right. As usual I cheated and took a little of the stock to make me some oyster stew. My White Sauce was just about perfect, thick and bubbly.
Based on what you just wrote and what I have spent on my two big home improvement projects (kitchen and master bath) here, $27 large doesn’t seem that bad. It really sux that you are having to deal with it because it wasn’t done correctly the first time .
44 GJT Because this house is built on a sloping ridge on a mountain the rear 1/2 of the fully finished basement is fully exposed so from the back it looks like a 3 story house and is for all practical purposes. The contractor I finally found is going to run a temporary 4″ rigid PVC line out of the basement from the main vertical waste line, out a small window down past rear deck, turn down the cliff and connect it to a 4″ cleanout we found down at the bottom of the ravine today. The cliff incline is… Read more »
you should’ve asked that question to the Kentucky Swamp Turtle instead.
Hopefully in the next cycle, we’ll have quality candidates everywhere.”
What does a Kentucky swamp turtle consider a quality candidate?
why another Kentucky Swamp Turtle of course.
Maybe he can find high caliber candidates like Fetterman and the dead guy that supposedly won in Pennsylvania or maybe he can drag another creature from the Murkowski lagoon across the finish line.
Hard to believe it’s 4:00 already. This day has just flown by.
The chicken cacciatore is in Fred, and the shrimp dish is cooling so it can join the Fred party.

According to watchdog nonprofit OpenTheBooks, during the two years between 2019 and 2021, the Fauci household’s net worth increased by $5 million, and is now over $12.6 million. Most of the increase came from investment gains, gifts, awards, and Fauci’s federal employment compensation, according to public records. #15 Tedtam – it’s ON my driver’s license. There is a little tiny red heart that says “donor” in white letters next to my eye color. Childers covers the political and legal stuff, then this: It’s baffling how much deference is being given to these so-called transgender kids, and how credulously committed the school officials are to considering these kids as being honest and legitimate.
