“Antique blow molds”, I’d never heard that before tonight and I have several of them. I’ll post pictures tomorrow if I have time.

Just concluded a really long-distance phone call with my 96-year-old cousin in Sydney, Australia.  She called us but I didn’t recognize her voice in time, as the incoming phone number was odd and so let it ring. Spouse got her number from our phone file and called her back on his cell phone, which went right through just as a… Read more »

May be turning in a little early this evening.  Still cool and dreary outside, and I just had a cup of cabbage soup and really do not have anything left to do this evening.  Maybe watch a little TV before finally giving it up.  mh, enjoy the bone density test.  You other hospital bound folks have good luck too.  Just… Read more »

Since my wife N daughter are out in California visiting with my boy and family, my sister invited me over for supper. She pan seared some Haddock with sweet peppers and scallops, fixed rice, coleslaw and hot water cornbread and man was it good. Yesterday I decided that we had too many yard eggs in the fridge so I made… Read more »

Tedtam do not mess up that arm trying to “nest” before your operation. I’ve done all I can around the house today before I am out of commission for several days to a couple of weeks. My hospital stay is only supposed to be 2 – 5 days. I’m not too sure how long it will be before I’m back… Read more »

#93 TexMo says I’ve been redeemed so I think that means “all you hosers” need to be nicer to me. I’m trying to get in the best possible mood to go in for the bone density check tomorrow at M-H Greater Heights. I can’t remember if they do this on both legs, but when they see me show up with… Read more »

One other thing I need to do is pull food from our shelves so Hubby won’t have to buy meals every day.  He might learn to cook some things, but I’m not holding my breath.  I have a variety of soups, soup stocks and ingredients (jarred and dried), and chili.  (Not Wolf brand.  He said that the recipe I used… Read more »

I worked up quite a sweat, totin’ stuff down the stairs to recreate my office in the dining room and I grabbed some beads and a little yarn for an upcoming project.  A card table will become my “recreation and eating space”.  I have good sturdy chairs with arms on them for both spaces, so getting up and down will… Read more »

#95 Wagonburner My priest offered that before my big surgery in March. We have one full time priest, a bivocational part time priest, a bivocational part time Deacon, and a retired priest that started attending our parish after he retired and helps out on occasion. I was shocked when both the full time, the bivocational priest, and the Deacon showed… Read more »

Texpat 4:36 Agree that something is rotten in Denmark about these acts of destruction.  Many if not most of the Environuts are not necessarily all there mentally, and it is their religion of sorts. Agree that the three attacks on power generating installations/pipelines smells like something is rotten in Denmark.  Certainly could be the handywork of Environuts, who take environmentalism… Read more »

Tedtam to request a blessing from an Orthodox priest all you have to do is cup your right hand on top of your left hand and bow slightly. The priest will then make the sign of the cross over you and bless you. You really do not even need to verbalize it. Just the motion is enough to elicit the… Read more »

#89 mharper42, A lady after my own heart:  not cooking now.  I perfectly understand the “once upon a time when I had more energy” thought.  Ditto here.  The not cooking doesn’t mean we women no longer know how to open a can of soup, or pop a frozen entree into the microwave, or purchase ready to eat goodies from the… Read more »

We are two months into fiscal year 2023 and the federal government is only funded through this coming Friday the 16th. Let that sink in.

These nincomepoops do this crap every. single. year. Reason # 862 of why I distrust the federal government to do anything with competence and alacrity.
