First?? I didn’t check in yesterday but we made it home, rolled in at 1:30 Pm after a leisurely 4 and a half hour run. I think these short trips are spoiling me. I didn’t see nearly as many State Troopers on the way back as up. BTW; Gas was $3.07 in B’Ham. lowest I’ve seen it. We filled up in Jasper, on the way up for $3.17 and $3.27 is about the lowest here. But it’s the weekend, enjoy.
Mornin’ Gang
It might just be me but I’m not seeing the “Muscle Guys in the Background, Armed Bodyguards at All the Doors, Whiskey and Fine Cigars Under the Counter” Picture.
Super Dave – I’m not seeing it either… Little tiny ? in a blue square is all I see… Oh yes – GOOD MORNING GANG 😉
Suitin up to head down to Galveston – 250,000 +/- riders at LSR (Lone Star Rally)
might yield some new & interested folks to join in our Mission.

Morning gang. Here’s the WIP https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2022/11/the-week-in-pictures-countdown-edition-2.php
Have a great day./

I had problems with the way the image was coded to prevent it being used. I finally figured out a trick to work around it. It is an 77 year old still shot from a movie so I don’t think any copyright applies.
I always enjoy those film noir movies. TW does not care for them though. A balmy 27 this morning with the temp falling all day to about 12 with snow.
Have a great weekend, y’all.
Re: WIPs
The I’m announcing I’m quitting twitter on twitter then staying on twitter to see the reactions is a good one.
FBI agents with the hammers and all the hammer memes are funny!
Well, we are officially farmless, got the check for my portion yesterday.
My grandmother and aunt have not showed up in my dreams to haunt me so I guess I’m clear lol.

All the posts on my Kubota subcompact tractor FB group page are about snowblowers, plows, cabs and tire chains, and will be for the next three months. These guys live for this time of year. No thank you.
Disclaimer, I pretty much agree with Texpat on Gabbard and I don;t see her switching to Republican but I guess she could be the Donald Trump of the Democrat party.
Oh and Gabbard comes on just after the 32:00 mark, she just pops up so I guess they cropped the intro?

72 here shooting for the low 80’s, Yes! To each his own but I just don’t understand how you can live up in the frozen north.
I just don’t understand how you can live up in the frozen north.
It is simple. You go from your heated house to your heated garage, get into your preheated truck and drive to wherever the is heated and hope like heck that you don’t get stuck in the ditch somewhere.
I carry tire chains, shovel, extra clothes and warm boots, gloves. And stay home a lot. ; )

I have the same problem here. I have to watch one when she’s out of the house. And western movies – forget it.
Frigid weather and snow is in our future, but right now we are enjoying a very unusual Indian summer and it’s blue skies and 66 degrees here. We’ve had a big snowstorm on Halloween here in the past.
Morning, chickadees! A chilly morning, I wanted to stay under the covers, but since I started leaving the door open to my room, I wake up with all the cats leaning on me, so that is nice. But they want me to get up and feed them.
This is still one of my all time favorites. And she did it with a straight face. We’ll never know if it was truly confirmed by government officials, or just an in house prank. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L1JYHNX8pdo
I’m having hot cocoa with those tiny marshmallows. I have a bowl of cottage cheese with fruit for breakfast — going on 15 years now. The fruit is a banana with something like grapes or strawberries, but yesterday I bought raspberries and blueberries. Having raspberries today, but they are so tart I had to sprinkle a sweetener packet on them.
#14 El Gordo! I loved that and it’s worth seeing again! FWIW; she was punked by her staff and being a young reporterette she just read what she saw. Absolutely hilarious and truly brilliant work by said staffer. 😀
You’re not in Harris County Anymore
The Splendora Criminal Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop on US Highway 59 near Kingsport Dr. During the investigation, the driver, Clint Pribyl, 43 of 3002 Autumn Park Ct. in Friendswood was found to be in Possession of a Firearm and a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine). It was learned that the driver was a 9-TIME CONVICTED FELON and was currently on Parole till 2027 with an ankle monitor out of Harris County.
The headline in the WIP about Mondrian’s painting hanging upside down for 75 years perfectly illustrates the abject silliness of abstract art. It doesn’t get any better than that.
It looks like the guy blew up a photo of his own plaid shirt and framed it.

” Thus, the Texas Secretary of State’s Office and the Texas Attorney General’s Office announced on Oct. 18 that they would send inspectors, security trainers, and legal advisers to Harris County to try to ensure the giant county runs its November election competently and fairly.
Been watching the documentary on Nolan Ryan Facing Nolan in bits and pieces. Into the part of his career where he is playing with the Rangers and the things he accomplished there. Just pizzes you of all over again. FJM (McMullan).
In a quick spot on AM 740 just now, Mattress Mac just invited the world to stop by Annunciation at 4:30 to say the rosary on their way into MinuteMaid Stadium.

Totally clueless about the value of keeping a local guy and letting him finish his career here.
Astros finished 3rd in the division the following year behind Giants and Padres.
In a pinch, just find something to wear…
We have a friend that makes T-Shirts, I ordered 2 of the Mattress Mack Gangsta. One for me and one for my neighbor buddy couple houses down. Hope she gets done with them in time for our watch party tonight.

Your new provincial premier, Danielle Smith, has been in office about a month. Is she still there or did Trudeau hire the Clintons to Arkancide her with a hammer ?
The RCMP reports Smith hit her self in the back of the head 12 times with a 23 oz. framing hammer. Medical examiner says they rule death as suicide.
At least the Clintons are true to the liberal code, no scary looking automatic weapons for them, only hangings and tools.
Many people I have spoken to, which is not a lot really, are cautiously hopeful, myself included. She is talking a good game but we will have to see.
The Sask premier is doing a heck of a job telling Trudope to stick it where the sun don’t shine. There may be hope for us yet.
If Biden would lift the vax embargo on entering the states I would be making plans to head south.

We got 6 – 8 inches of snow today, which isn’t too bad. But the wind was blowing upwards of 28 mph. I cleared a 100′ path to the coop with the snowblower, then helped son with the dozer for 10 minutes and the whole path I cleared was blown in again. I have to find my snow fence and get that up. He who hesitates creates a bunch more work. High tomorrow 10, less wind thankfully. Move more snow.
Out for now.
How about that? Wife’s birthday present arrived about 4:30, it was supposed to be here on Monday but I was in the den and heard a horn toot. I looked out and saw a Dodge 1 ton with another Dodge pickup on the trailer he was pulling and I knew that the Vette had arrived. It’s 2008 with the 6.2L 410 HP motor so it’s not a romper stomper but it will get out of it’s own way. I’ll explain more later but this was the Vette that daughter bought when she graduated from college. Remember she had 2 Z 28’s before it. She has been wanting to make a deal to give it to her mom but I think she was having second thoughts since this project has been “in work” for over 2 years. SO we split the value and I paid half what she could sell it for and had it shipped over here. BTW; It went up in value $8K after COVID. I think that the wife was somewhat excited and really surprised, she had no clue. 😉
Hopefully Kari Lake will show Abbott how it’s done when it comes to securing a border when she’s elected and if she can overcome the voter fraud.

That’s very cool!

One more thing, can you believe that you can ship an automobile from Midland Texas to Pudunk Alabama for $775? Damned amazing. 😉
Yeah I’ve ran across a couple people who transport big bikes all over the country. That’d be a neat yob.
And on that note, my step-brother hauls rich folks horses all the time, used to do it full time. Most are to shows, but many times not. Live animals, and their privileged owners, are a pain to do long hauls with, he got burnt out on it.

Things I have learned about life through baseball.
Whatever they pay Valdez, it’s not enough.
Nobody recognized his talent till he was 24 years old and he didn’t become a starter until last year. Really ?
Texpat
Ahem
Houston Astros Signed Framber Valdez, Cristian Javier for $10K Each on Same Day in 2015
I’ve never seen so many broken bats in 2-1/2 innings in my life.
52 Squawk
I don’t doubt your info. I’m going by what the announcers just said about Valdez. However, given some of the stupid and incorrect things they’ve said previously in the Series, I should just ignore them.
Texpat
no doubt he is not being paid enough. I was just pointing out the deal the astros got gettin him in the beginning. Astros got some really good talent hunters.
Astros pitching coaches are the BOMB too. I heard Valdez say how much they helped him sharpen his skills to get to this point. Apparently he listens and executes really well.
This angel stole my heart and there was nothing I could do about it.
2 timer.
#47 Dr phil Good; DAYAAM! You nailed it that’ll beat a cold shower any day……Now where did I put that eyeball bleach and dang what about my ears?
Did y’all hear about the new TOHO movie?
Y’all will hear tomorrow how irritating this Fox World Series is and how crappy a job I think they’ve done. Camera work is so bad. Direction is like a high school game.
Okay here we go ASTROs
I wouldn’t hire this Fox broadcast crew to announce my grandson’s Little League games.
They simply will not shut up about stuff nobody cares about. I really miss the all the old time baseball game callers I grew up with. We’ll never have them again.
King Tuck!!!!
Awwright! Astros Wins It!!
FWIW; I just about wore out my recall button on the remote watching the Bama/LSU game and the World Series game at the same time. After a disappointing Alabama loss to LSU in O/T I did finish up with the Astros winning.
This one is for all my dead and gone loved ones who stuck by the Astros through all the dreary decades when they couldn’t win anything.
Mattress Mac shoulduh won about $75M on his bet
In July, he wagered $2 million at BetMGM at 5/1, $2 million at Barstool at 5.3/1 (+533) and $1 million each at Unibet and Betfred, also at 5/1.
Caesars takes the biggest hit from Mack’s win, paying out $30 million.
“What can we say? We just wrote the biggest check in sports betting history to Mattress Mack for $30,000,000. Would we do it all again? You bet,” Ken Fuchs, the COO of Caesars Digital, said. “While Mack may have won this round on the field, we’re proud of how we teamed up to support first responders and military veterans in Houston, Philly and Atlantic City. And to Mack — we tip our Astros cap — and remind him that he can now support his Texans and Rockets … both attractively priced at +100000 to win a championship. The Astros are also currently +550 to win next year’s Fall Classic.”
Lots of good football to watch today, and then the Stros win too. I’ve always been an LSU fan simply because I loved playing them in college, and there is just no way you can be in a bad move around a bunch of coon azzez. Aggies continue their dismal season logging another loss – hard times down on rhe lower Brazos River. TCU remains undefeated and should move up a couple of notches in the next poll. Baylor took care of Texas Tech, while the SMU ponies out ran the Cougars in what has to be some record setting 6 man football type scoring. Texas was playing up in some corn field somewhere and apparently they don’t have wire services up there yet to try to get the score.
I’ve got most of my clocks set tor the 2am bit event. I’d like to sleep late but not sure if I can or not. We’ll find out soon enough I guess. You all have a good evening now. Nite nite.
Oh man, what a party!! We should do this more often!
My phone and my computer will tell me what time it is in the morning. I’ll get around to syncing up the oven, microwave and coffee pot clocks in a week or month.
My inherited 2001 Toyota Avalon has a lot of smart stuff for its age, but I don’t think it knows time changes.
I won’t try to reset any clocks tonight. My computer will know what time it is after I get up, feed the cats, bring in my sudoku puzzle, make my big coffee, and do the puzzle. Then I’ll turn on the laptop and get the correct time to go around and fix all the clocks that need help.
How ‘bout them Dodgers ?

Anyways, Mornin Gang, again.
Morning gang. Still got a little football hangover, and a little bit of baseball hangover as well. Going to get a shower this morning and then try to get acclimated to the new time situation. You all have a great day. More later.
After the layoffs, we asked some of the employees who had been cut what they made of the process. They told us that they had been struck by the cruelty: of ordering people to work around the clock for a week, never speaking to them, then firing them in the middle of the night, no matter what it might mean for an employee’s pregnancy or work visa or basic emotional state.
More than anything they were struck by the fact that the world’s richest man, who seems to revel in attention on the platform they had made for him, had not once deigned to speak to them.
“It’ll stick with me forever that he never addressed the employees even once before firing half of us,” one longtime employee who was laid off today told me. (Former employees spoke on condition of anonymity for fear that giving their names could affect their severance packages). “Downright cowardly that he couldn’t bring himself to sign his name to the layoff email.”
BAWHAHAHAHA!!!! 😀
About my #83, I generally have sympathy for anyone that has been let go but I can’t feel for these sanctimonious, arrogant, spoiled children that took pleasure in censoring anyone that they disagreed with. Don’t let the door hitcha’…….. 😉
SD, I do tend to agree with you on this one. If he fired half the force, that probably means that half of them were not necessary to keep the company afloat to begin with. And he can tell them that since all the Hollywood start are leaving the platform, he just can’t afford them any more since the business volume will be way down.
Super Dave
Dang, what happened to my 5:01 AM post? It didn’t say “awaiting for moderation?”
Ain’t nuttin in comment purgatory with your name on it.
Twitter employees threw all their sympathy coupons on the bonfire and burned them up a long time ago.

Doe’s anyone know what time it is?
They told us that they had been struck by the cruelty: of ordering people to work around the clock for a week
I ain’t buying it. I’d find it difficult to believe they put in more than a few hours work in when they liked working there.
Dogs don’t believe in Daylight Savings Time or changing clocks or any of those stupid things their human servants do.
We were supposed to be heading to our racing series’ banquet at a park in Gonzales today but son ended up having to go look at some problems on a frack job in South Texas. He thought it might still work out but the call this morning said it’d be a little iffy that he could make it so we called off going.
Didn’t hurt my feelings much, World Series Championships are hard!
I haven’t seen the story but son says the guy who caught Jordon Alvarez’s home run ball last was wearing an Alvarez jersey. Also someone offered him 100 grand for the ball but he declined. These things are always stupid crazy, but it’d be hard to believe that’s a ball that would grow in value.
#91 – Especially something like that to have any historical value has to be authenticated by the team. Otherwise anyone could claim any ball they found at the park has some significance 50 years from now.
Texpat
She loved it! Thank you. She actually had never heard that one before, rare lol.
I’m trying to train my eyes to work without wearing my cheater glasses. Overall, I have much better vision than before the surgery, but when I blink or change from looking at one object to another it seems to takea brief period for my eyes to refocus. Cheater magnifiers seem to blur the image even more sometimes, while at other times seem to help a little bit. I go back to the eye doc on the 21st, and I’m assuming that they will do another work up to see if I need corrective lenses which I probably will. In fact, I think these plastic lenses are focused at a distance and are not for close up reading and such in the first place. In any event, I think I have to teach my brain how to read the incoming signals and interpret them properly after years of teaching it how to work with poor vision. The bright still gives me problems, and as usual, it’s another cloudless sky out there today and extremely bright as the fall angle seems to have some effect too. No place to hide from the bright sunlight. Reading the smaller print and stuff in italics is completely out of the question though. A magnifying glass helps with the small print, as it did when I went to vote and could not read the ballot without one. Hopefully things will improve as I re-learn how to read this stuff.
Watching TV last night I could not tell if the TV would occasionally blur the image or if it was my eyes. Typically the TV images that I get are very sharp, but since it is all internet driven, the images do slow down sometimes. Netflix used to have some sort of visual guide to demonstrate how the internet speed affects the picture quality etc.
#92 ELG
I never could find anything on it and don’t know how it ended up but the sports radio guys were talking about the guy that caught the Aaron Judge home run record ball and how he got strong armed by the Yankees insistence the ball belonged to them.
It’d be hard to get it it verified if they want the ball.
Texpat @ 10:07
Thanks! I was to lazy to look it up.

Matt Seedorff, fox news sports reproter put out this tweet.
BTW all teams have a verification system for things like home run balls etc. The team contacts the guy that caught the ball pretty quickly to verify. Any offers to purchase usually comes later.
Yesterday in Sedalia, Missouri, the VanDerBrink Auction company sold off a huge collection of classic motorcycles, parts and memorabilia.
” Doug Wothke knows old motorcycles and how to keep them running.
The Alabamian has ridden classic bikes around the world four times, starting in 2006 on a 1948 Indian Chief.
Indians and Harley Davidsons from the early part of the 20th century are his favorites.
He has a collection of over 70 bikes and stores of parts for them.
He and a colleague recently purchased the estate of California motorcycle builder M.F. Eagan, who worked with the likes of custom bike artist Von Dutch and Steve McQueen, which filled nine shipping containers with historic parts, bikes and memorabilia.
What they didn’t keep is now being auctioned at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia on November 5 by VanDerBrink Auctions. “
This would have been a fun auction to go to.

I’m still basking in the glow of last night’s triumph. It might take a few days to recover from this.
I saw on FB last night that a family of four could only afford two tickets to the World Series game last night. Both of their teenage boys have played baseball since t-ball so they gave the tickets to the boys.
HISD has cancelled school for tomorrow. Mayor Turner said last night they had one million people attend the Astros parade in 2017. He’s hoping for more tomorrow.
Super Dave congratulations on the acquisition of your “new” C6 Corvette.
I heard somebody on the radio refer to this Dusty Baker story that occurred in 2020 and now I’ve found it.
” ‘At the beginning of this journey, you know, I didn’t even have a job, and I interviewed with the Phillies,” Baker said in his press conference after Game 6 of the ALCS. “They went with Joe Girardi. And then my son told me in his infinite wisdom, he goes, ‘Dad, maybe that job wasn’t yours, and this is a better job.’ I hate that A.J. Hinch lost his job in the manner that he did, but I inherited a good team, much like Sparky Anderson inherited the Big Red Machine.”
Baker referenced his son Darren, a 22-year-old prospect in the Washington Nationals organization. In a profile on Baker for The Athletic, Claire Smith went into detail on how Darren helped Dusty get through his disappointment after missing out on the job in Philadelphia.
“He said perhaps I wasn’t supposed to have that opportunity, that perhaps it wasn’t the best place for me,” Baker told Smith. ‘I mean, that’s my son telling me what I’ve always believed, that maybe I have to wait to be where I was meant to be. That’s my son, with his beautiful knowledge and wisdom. He said maybe God’s got a better job, a better plan for me. A week later I was called by the Astros.’ “
I’m all in favor of staying with standard time all year so we can avoid daylight savings time.
Texpat I agree the Fox Sports coverage of the World Series could have been better. I found myself tuning out the inane comments made by those guys. Player stats and history are fine, but half the time those guys wandered off and talked about superfluous garbage.
Another thing that bothered the heck out of me was the extreme close ups of players. The ones where a head filled the entire screen. The producer calling the camera shots was also terrible. For example the extreme close up and then the person needs to blow their nose. They actually did that to Dusty by holding the camera on him for three seconds before switching cameras. I fully understand as a guy that if you are wearing a cup that you need to adjust it from time to time, but do we need a close up of the batters making adjustments in the batter’s box?
Oh no! I have filled the vacuum cleaner already, and I can’t remember how to access the bag to empty it. I do remember buying some new bags the last time I used this cleaner, but to tell the truth, I have no idea whether I emptied and put in a new bag at that time…
I kinda liked Schmoltz discussing batter vs. pitcher ‘thinking’ scenarios – the rest was darn near unbearable.

Amen.
The most infuriating part of the coverage was the most horrendous camera production I’ve ever seen in a championship series. At least 90% of camera time was on the pitcher or the batter at home plate. The only time you ever saw a camera shot of the field, the defensive set or defensive players was when they made a catch or caught a throw at a base. Baseball is a lot more than pitchers, batters and catchers. I want to see what is happening on the field as much as possible and whoever produced these games ought to be fired.
Also, Katfish is right about the commentary. It’s fine to throw in a bit or two about pitching strategies and tactics, but they would wander off about their previous pro careers and ramble on as if they were two guys alone having a beer and completely forgot they were announcing a World Series and that nobody gives a damn about their old war stories.

That’s IT chapter & verse!
I made it back into town in time to get to church for mass.
First, the crowds around the stadium were thicker than for the games, IMO. they had started early in the day, and I met one of the ushers guarding the parking lot. It seems that the fans had decided they could take over our parking lot, leaving our parishioners without parking spaces. My friend said they had to go to the stadium and announce that we’d be towing cars, to get some availability for our folks.
Next up, we had our chuckles as the knuckleheads would drive by the church (across from the stadium) with their speakers blasting “We Are the Champions” at ear bleed volumes, to the cheering of the fans on the sidewalk.
And, Oh, did Fr. Felix get riled up again. He gets pretty het up when discussing abortion and such. He didn’t advocate for or against any party or politician. Remember this man is shorter than I am*, but when he gets up there on the ambo I think he grows a couple of inches. He started in as usual on our scripture readings for the day, which dealt with “giving Caesar what is Caesar’s” that led into dealing with government and our role in society. He began talking about the elections, and how we NEEDED to get out there and VOTE! How abortion is evil, no DIABOLICAL! And then he made this point: “If they do this to innocent life in the womb, what do you think they’ll do to you if they get control of YOU?!” Then he went on to include dialogue on the mutilation of children and the destruction of our families. I’m glad he stopped when he did, before he stroked out.
I’m glad Hammie talked me into changing parishes.
* When our kids were little one lady we tried out for babysitting had a little boy who began maturing at age 8. Turns out he did not have the 1/10,000 type of malady in which the pituitary gland kicks off early, he got the 1/10,000,000 (her numbers, not mine) version where both pituitary and the gonads both kicked off early. Instead of pills to block the hormones, the poor boy had to have four shots a day. But I learned from Cindy that the really short people in our lives are probably those folks who didn’t get the medication to block puberty, and thus they lost all of the height they would have developed in those lost years before puberty. I’m guessing Fr. Felix is one of those men who got shortchanged from those 4 or 5 years of lost prepubescence time.
I found a video online that I thought would get our Panasonic vac loaded correctly with a new bag, but unfortunately, it seemed to be blowing the fuzz balls away from the vac. I’m pretty sure I want the debris to be sucked in. Searched around and found a different video so I will be trying again on that darned bag. I’ll get the vac close to the laptop so hopefully I can check each step for a good match.
I’m looking forward to the next phase of clean-up, which will be mop the tile floors in the kitchen, breakfast room, and foyer. All very low tech! Maybe I should do that now, just to salvage my ego.
The hipsters are freaking out in Austin and running to Boston and Portland.
” Austin Has Been Invaded by Texas
This summer, that anxiety pervaded a stratum of liberal Austin, namely women, LGBTQ+ folks, parents, and people of color who fear a future in Texas and have the means to escape. The overturning of Roe seemed to remove the last obstacle in the state’s march to the far right, which is likely to be cemented in the upcoming election where Beto O’Rourke is way behind Abbott. While the Democratic mayor and the liberal city council institute token measures such as decriminalizing abortion, it’s cold comfort. One 25-year-old woman said she had her tubes tied, fearing the consequences of an unwanted pregnancy. One couple may relocate to the Northeast to carry out their pregnancy. Some job candidates are refusing to relocate. At Stettin’s party, his friend Jeff swiped open his phone to a note entitled “New Austin Cities” — a list of places that are what Austin used to be to him before he moved here from New York. It read, “Pittsburgh, Durham, Boise, Columbus, Jackson Hole, Chattanooga. Factors: Climate change, demographics, economy, location, taxes, nature, weather.” He plans to stick it out at least for now. “Global warming in the next ten years,” he said. ‘That’s gonna be f***ing real.’ “
I hear Hamous cackling in the far distance.
Good Sunday Afternoon, Hamsters,
I had cardiac surgery on Friday to correct obstructions of the interior carotid artery, the one that goes up to the head and brain. The cardiac docs though at first it was only one blockage, but it turned out to be two. So I now have stents to keep them open. Came home late yesterday afternoon not totally over the effects of the anesthesia. Lots of naps today and I feel much better but still need my cane to balance at times walking around the house.
Surgery was at Houston Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land. It is absolutely a first-class place, and it keeps growing. There was a 3rd-year cardiology medical student at Baylor College of Medicine as part of the group, as Baylor and Methodist work together. He came to visit me several times at the hospital to check on how I was doing. I had told him he was welcome as a member of my medical care group to observe and ask questions and see what he needed to see, as learning from books goes only so far and is not as good as learning from seeing real patients. I think that made his day. 🙂
Adee I’m glad to hear your procedure went well.
Oops, forgot to mention that a Residency at Baylor for cardiology is 5 years, and so my student was a third- year Resident, not med student. He was already an MD.
Baylor Med is sort of like the equivalent of Rice in that only the top of the top get admitted. First rate doctors at Baylor Med and at all Methodist facilities in Houston. One of the best in the world.

Wow, Adee, I wish you had warned us so we could have deployed some pre-emptive prayers for you. There is nothing not risky about carotid artery surgery.
Congratulations on the successful treatment. Post-operative prayers are in order.
If only Hamous were here to see this.
Also, don’t Squawk and Bsue raise chickens in their backyard ?
Anyway, they need to be aware of these alarming developments among chickens.
Texpat Re:Chickens
Nope no chickens. They got uppity around her so we had a neighborhood chicken fry. Dunno if any were gender fluid but cooked the way I did them they were melt in your mouth tender.
First comment
Yes, absent a rooster one hen will sort of fill the role, but it is not a change in gender. That’s like saying a single mom that works to provide for the family is non-binary or trans.
We got a damn rooster around there that never shuts up. I don’t if it’s gender fluid or not but it needs to identify as a fried chicken plate.

If only hamous was here…..
I could not find a hamousonian regarding Austin Hipsters that would have drawn a chuckle or provoked a thought. But I did find a picture I remembered he had posted on LST a million years ago.
BTW Hammie would have loved this……. N O T
Texpat and all dear Hamsters,
Did not want to upset y’all by previous notice of the surgery because anything connected with the heart sounds serious and at times becomes very serious very fast. Thank you all for prayers for me! I’m 81 now and am aiming for 90, as my dear Mom made it to 90 and passed away two weeks after that birthday. Heart issues run in her family, and she had two bypass operations at an advanced age. Many of her male and female siblings also had heart issues. She was second to the youngest child who lived in that family of 11 kids who survived infancy. The last two babies died shortly after birth, 11 survived to adulthood. Mom was born in 1911. My Dad was born in 1906. Spouse is 82 and does not look his age. I don’t look my age either. Guess that is owing to Viking ancestors far back in both our pedigrees when Vikings roamed the European world.
And also it helps to stay out of the sun longer than the 10 minutes required to get your daily dose of vitamin D. 🙂

I just wanted you to know we consider it an honor you’ve loyally hung round with this group of sinners and semi-saints all these years. You have been loyal through all our years of combative politics, questionable taste and misdemeanors.
When Jews say may you live to 120 years, it means also to honor Moses.
” I am one hundred and twenty years old today. I can no longer come and go, and the Lord has said to me, you will not cross the Jordan. (Deut. 31:2)
“בֶּן-מֵאָה וְעֶשְׂרִים שָׁנָה אָנֹכִי הַיּוֹם–לֹא-אוּכַל עוֹד, לָצֵאת וְלָבוֹא; וַה’ אָמַר אֵלַי, לֹא תַעֲבֹר אֶת-הַיַּרְדֵּן הַזֶּה.

Thanks for digging that one up.
Beautiful.

Heh
I have my own proprietary dictionary. It’s stupendous.
It seems that turban tossing has become a new youth sport in Iran.
The youth are protesting the clerics’ abuses, especially towards women not in hijab, but knocking their turbans off and running away before they can be recognized or caught.
Semi-saint.
This weekend I was in Lake Jackson for an event, and the civic center was promoting some kind of dwarf fighting event.
Never thought I’d see that, but there ya’ go.

I think we should raise prize money for the turban tossers and do everything we can to promote the sport.
Twitter employees have been extorting people trying to get blue check certification on the site for $15K under the table.
The time change is dragging me towards my pillow, so I’ll say Good Night, fellow Couch Critters.
Good night all.
