Plenty of good rain out this way too. Most of it fell while I was at Costco and driving back to Rosehill all the ditches were full and some water over the road. Even the Pond in front of my house was up about a foot. Of course if you are HCAD that is a Lake and therefore I have… Read more »

This is Gordo’s and the rest of the folks in CenTex response when seeing rain clouds come in after three months of no rain.
Believe it or not, we’re getting rain in SS at long last. Temp down to 85 degrees. No matter what everyone is doing, they all stop and just watch the rain.
Just made a trip over to B Bros for a couple things and the new burger joint caught my attention. We tried it when they opened, $$$ but great burgers. Never open a restaurant in a strip center, people forget you’re there.

Shannon, Squawk often tells the story of me and our boxer going outside to check out the storm, while he slept on a mattress in the hallway, then coming inside and listening to the news on a transistor radio (because tv/electricity was out)… Almost continuous coverage of HFD trying to get that fire at Brennan’s under control was the alternating… Read more »
The original Brennan’s interior felt like a Southern Plantation home. Color scheme had a lot of Ivory and pastel pinks. (Our paternal grandmother could have done it with those pinks.)
The rebuild, mercifully, shed the pinks, opened the sight lines up a bit, added a bunch of glass towards the gardens. Much airier. Less stuffy. Great, cozy bar.
Mucho bueno.

Brennan’s fire story from the Chronicle.
Three people were injured when Brennan’s was destroyed by fire during Hurricane Ike in 2008.
They did a fine job rebuilding it.
