Facebook Is Now Fact Checking Eucharistic Miracles
“Facebook is inserting itself into Church affairs for no good reason.” Nailed. It.
This story isn’t about my religion. It’s about Facebook’s inserting itself into my religion.
Items of note:
1. The picture posted is NOT the picture from Ireland, but another – though mistaken – “Eucharistic miracle”. Someone just used a picture to go with the story, not a picture FROM the story.
2. The Church doesn’t just celebrate every “miracle” as if it were true. There are strict testing guidelines before a miracle is proclaimed. Many times, these events are not miraculous, even though people may think so.
3. The Church has barely begun investigating the event in Ireland yet, so no determination of “miraculous” has even begun to happen.
4. Last, but not least, why in heckfahr is FB trying to determine whether an event is a sacred miracle? The folks there wouldn’t recognize “sacred,” “holy,” or “miraculous” if it slapped ’em in the face. And it should. Because they need it.
5. I don’t need FB to inform me, protect me, or guide me on anything relating to my religion. They don’t know my faith, understand my faith, or respect my faith. The fact that they think they can tell me anything about my beliefs is…utter hubris.

116 MHarper – way back 3/4ths of the way thru the last century, my very first nite working in Surgical ICU, I had only 1 patient. He had a partially dissecting abdominal aortic aneurysm and was on IV medication to keep his blood pressure up enough to get oxygen to all the needful places, but not so high as to… Read more »
Tim’s aneurysm is on the abdominal aorta — when you see the word aorta, you think of the heart, the chest. At least, if you took some biology classes, you do. My husband had one, found almost accidentally when he was getting scanned for something else in the abdomen. His was small, and he died from other ailments before reaching… Read more »
We’ll just pray that the surgeons are successful in repairing the aneurysm, and there are no persisting after-effects… at least that’s what I’m praying – that, and for peace for Gail during the procedure…
#108 Bsue From what I recall, he has an aneurysm – and if I recall correctly, it’s on the biggest artery in the human body- the aorta. Thanks for the update. We did a Nursing Home Ministry for about 4 years (The Leader Did 14). After a few months we all came to the same conclusion. God take me home… Read more »
My new possum pal — showed up for chow tonight with a completely normal looking possum.

Nite all. Have a good one.
Yep, Bsue is right.
Those aortic aneurysms run in my Dad’s family, got Grandpa and Uncle Joe. My Beloved Fluttery Aunt was terrified that she’d die of it, but she lucked out.
#106 – Abuck… From what I recall, he has an aneurysm – and if I recall correctly, it’s on the biggest artery in the human body- the aorta. Kinda like having a ballooning spot on the inner-tube of your unicycle tire (if unicycles carried your blood thru to vital things like heart, brain, body…)
Suddenly it all becomes clear. Its the ducks. The ducks are doing it. Fifty million of them hiding in the shadows, killing the chickens and the turkeys.
#102 Tedtam
Did he ever say what caused the problem?
#102 – we’ll be praying it’s on time, and goes off without a hitch
I think the government is lying.
Hiding about 50 more million ducks.
The problem is, it wasn’t my screed. It was your screed. If you’d read it (either time), you’d know that.
GJT has surgery at 2:00 pm tomorrow.
Sarge
Nope that means I am so far ahead of you, I do not need to read your screed. you remind me of my daughter when she was 2. Talked like crazy but never said a thing.
Well, I’d say that means that ducks are more popular… somebody’s been eating a LOT of duck…
Does anybody else think its unfair that there are 518 million chickens in the USA alone, but only 48.47 million ducks in the whole world?
Actually, I copy and pasted from the site you linked to. So this means its actually the second time you didn’t read it.

I thought Trophies were racist?
Participation Trophies are Socially acceptable and everyone goes away a winner.
Time for “dinner and a show” at Chez Harp. I’m having a supper salad with a tuna packet called Latin Citrus for the protein. The show is my recorded daytime soap I’ve been watching for 40-some-odd years. And 20 y.o. Millie naps in my lap while I chow down and watch my show. I’ll check in later and get the… Read more »

Hey ya can’t take it with you.
There is a fabulous “cool” breeze outside right now — only 80°. I think I’ll start a list for a run to Kroger tomorrow. I would run out of “wild mix” over the weekend, and I do hate shopping on the weekend, if I can get covered by Friday.
I was going to skip garden inspection today. Good thing I didn’t. If I waited until tomorrow I think my zucchini would have needed it’s own street address.
Got hot out here today. Showing about 98 right now. Going out to sprinkle a little water on the plants. Getting a little hungry, so might eat a little early this evening.
