Freudian Slip? Might be,…..
Mornin’ El Gordo,…Gang -
The devil comes to kill, steal, and destroy. How has the left behaved any differently?
It should be obvious to anyone who has 2 brain cells to rub together that this current administration and the overwhelming majority of the permanent beaurocracy are in service to the evil one.
They hate us and want us all dead or enslaved. -
Meanwhile over in Arguta Mary Beth is baking cookies. 😉

OK. After this weekend, I will no longer afflict you guys with the videos on my You Tube channel.
I will instead afflict you with videos on my Rumble channel.
They’ve got a feature that syncs with YouTube channels and plays the videos you have on there. My understanding is that it doesn’t add viewing time to the YT channel, you just give Rumble license to play them on their platform. The difference is that Rumble starts paying for ad revenue immediately whereas with YT I have to wait until I’ve got another 3400 dingdang watch hours to re-monetize.
Gonna look into Vimeo now.

Coffee & Covid ☙ Thursday, June 23, 2022 ☙ PRACTICAL RESPONSE
Good morning C&C! It’s Thursday, and I have a great roundup for you today: Operation Multiplier breaks records; Publix takes a tentative stand; Van Jones says something true on CNN; Andrew Gillum indicted on corruption charges; the White House moves to ban nicotine; more sudden and unexpected celebrity deaths; Arizona gets closer to passing a revolutionary educational freedom law; a kooky conspiracy theory about Russian saboteurs; and an update on the Lithuanian situation.*******************************************
*THE C&C ARMY POST*OPERATION MULTIPLIER UPDATES: The C&C Army’s multiplier for Dr. McCullough yesterday was a staggering success. … we’ve raised nearly +$275,000 in a 24-hour period.
GiveSendGo provides no easy way to analyze the donations, but you can scroll through the feed, and it is obvious that 95% of the donations are the work of the C&C Army — if not all of them. …
I think it’s higher than 95%. I reckon nearly all the donations made in the last 24 hours were by the C&C army. Plus, I love GiveSendGo’s comments feature; I hope Dr. McCullough will be invigorated by all the encouraging notes that so many C&C soldiers included with their donations.
We totally crushed it, the Operation was a thundering blowout. It would now be journalistic malpractice to omit McCullough’s grassroots support from any article about his licensure battle. I hope the doctor feels free to mention his grassroots support anytime he’s interviewed. And if they keep after him, we can just multiply him again.
I also have news on the Harriet Hageman multiplier from last week: As of the week’s end, we’d raised nearly +$100,000 in more than 4,000 individual donations. That’s a terrific message!…
Think about it this way: between Hageman and McCullough, we’ve fueled +$375,000 focused dollars to work for freedom over just two days, needing only seconds of effort from each of us, and via totally affordable individual contributions that we’d probably have made anyway if we ever got around to thinking about it.That’s the power of the Army. Working together, each doing their part, we’re punching with billionaire weight.
Finally, Ms. Hageman made us a very nice little thank-you video. Enjoy: https://tinyurl.com/bdcw8rrt.

*COVID NEWS AND COMMENTARY*It looks like grocery-giant Publix read the room and took a stand, even if just a little one. Yesterday, the Tampa Bay Times ran a story headlined, “Publix Won’t Give COVID Vaccine to Children Under 5.” The sub-headline complained darkly, “The Lakeland grocery chain said it will not explain its decision ‘at this time.’”
For those of you who don’t live in Florida, Publix dominates grocery stores. We LOVE Publix. If you live in Florida, chances are there’s always a Publix within a few blocks, and chances are you’re in a Publix daily. They’re super-clean, well organized, friendly, and give great customer service. In addition to groceries, Publix offers bakery, deli, meats, sushi, pharmacy, you name it, plus some of the best fried chicken you can get anywhere.
It IS the South, after all.
From the beginning, Publix participated full-on in the vaccine campaign, even to the extent that Florida dems accused the Governor of favoring Publix with jab contracts, since the Lakeland grocery chain is perceived as “skewing towards” conservative political candidates, although I’m not sure that’s actually true.
According to the Times, Publix announced yesterday that its pharmacies will NOT be vaccinating very young children aged four and under. Publix’s website offers jabs only for kids five and up. And the chain offers flu shots to kids aged 6 months and up.
But not mRNA jabs, not for toddlers and infants.
Publix clearly frustrated the Times by passing on the chance to explain to reporters exactly WHY it won’t jab the littles. But do you blame it? Whatever its reasoning, there is nothing Publix could say about this without creating a conflagration of controversy with one caterwauling group or another. Publix doesn’t have to explain its policy, and, for now, it isn’t.
This may be the first large American corporation to buck the narrative. It’s the first one to feature media coverage, at least.
I think I’ll pick up some soft, warm Publix donuts for my team on the way into the office this morning.

I don’t usually agree with Clinton loyalist Van Jones, but in an interview on CNN yesterday, he nailed it. Jones told two anchors, faces frozen in terrified confusion, that elites were ruining the Democrat party: “Those people talk funny. ‘Latinx’? I’ve never met a Latinx. I’ve never met a ‘BIPOC’ … All this weird stuff that these highly-educated people say … It’s bizarre … Nobody talks that way at the nail salon or barbershop or grocery store or community center.”

365 Retweets2,529 LikesJones says the Democrats ‘talk weird’ to appeal to highly-educated elites, and they pander to the lowest economic groups by over-promising things like “reparations.” Meanwhile the middle class is walking away.
There’s a lot here. First, it is spellbinding watching CNN evolve under new management. True, Van Jones is not Sean Hannity or anything. But there he was, on air, saying common-sense things that CNN’s thought police would have promptly bleach-bit two months ago. The biggest question to me is, WHY do Democrat elites like to ‘talk weird’ when nobody else wants them to? Is it as simple as virtue signaling?

Former Democrat darling and gubernatorial candidate Andrew Gillum was indicted yesterday on federal corruption charges. For those of you who are not from Florida, Governor DeSantis narrowly beat popular democrat Gillum by just a handful of votes in 2018. A few months later, Gillum was arrested in a sordid and shameful scandal involving crack cocaine, male prostitutes, and details that I can’t describe in a family blog.
As bad as those optics were politically, the new charges are more serious and more substantial. Gillum is accused of a long list of complicated bribery schemes involving his private PAC, fake FBI real-estate developers, and pay-for-play politics while Gillum was mayor of Tallahassee. The former mayor and failed gubernatorial candidate remains popular with Florida democrats, who see him as some kind of Robin-hood-style rascal or something. For his part, Gillum says he looks forward to having his day in court to prove his, um, technical innocence. Good luck!

Always on the alert for ways to help the American people, and with his usual impeccable timing, hair-sniffing White House resident Joe Biden said his Administration plans to fight the horrible problem of smoking by regulating 95% of the nicotine out of cigarettes, making them completely useless for their intended purpose.
The Wall Street Journal’s article yesterday was headlined, “Biden Administration Targets Removal of Most Nicotine From Cigarettes.” The Journal grudgingly admits that smoking rates have been “declining for years,” with a small pandemic bump, and that the regulatory changes could take years to implement.
The Administration claims the move is part of its anti-cancer initiative. Now we see how it will work. Instead of CURING cancer, they’ll just ban everything that “thuh Science” says causes cancer. Problem solved!
I will note without comment that dozens and dozens of studies have shown nicotine protects people from covid and — especially — spike protein injury:
— BMJ comment, Jan 2020, “Nicotine and COVID-19,” concluding “the evidence suggests that nicotine or other nicotinic agonists could have beneficial effects against severe COVID-19.”
— Jerusalem Post, June 2020, “Israeli study points to nicotine as a potential therapeutic for COVID-19.”
— Medical News, July 2020, “Involvement of nicotine receptors in COVID-19” (nicotine interferes with spike protein).
— Cureus Journal, October 2020, “Does Nicotine Prevent Cytokine Storms in COVID-19?” (Nicotine may act as an anti-inflammatory that prevents cytokine storms caused by spike protein).
— American Council on Health and Science, June 2020, “Does Smoking Prevent COVID-19? We Don’t Know, But Some Journalists Don’t Want To Find Out.”
— Journal of Biophysics, February 2021, “A potential interaction between the SARS-CoV-2 spike protein and nicotinic acetylcholine receptors” (nicotine interferes with spike protein).
— GLP, October 2021, “Smokers are less likely to get COVID: French researchers explore whether nicotine might prevent transmission.”
— Medical Hypotheses, January 2022, “Nicotinic receptors as SARS-CoV-2 spike co-receptors?” (nicotine interferes with spike protein).
… and there are MANY, MANY more. I could do this all day. Just saying.

Two more sudden and unexpected celebrity deaths yesterday:
— Tony Siragusa, 55, former Ravens NFL star nicknamed “the Goose,” died “unexpectedly” in his sleep yesterday. No cause of death has been reported.
— Baltimore Ravens linebacker Jaylon Ferguson, 26, died unexpectedly yesterday. No cause of death reported.

The Arizona House just passed House Bill 2853 on party lines. The bill would create the most expansive school choice system in the country, allowing parents to basically take their part of the education budget to any school they choose, including private or religious schools, and also use the money for transportation, tutoring, and computers.Governor Ducey is an advocate for educational freedom and is expected to sign the bill into law, if it is approved in the Arizona senate, which recently passed a similar bill.
More progress! Progress that would not have been possible without the pandemic.

I’m out of time this morning; I’ll round this up for you soon. But it’s so interesting that I have to at least mention the latest conspiracy theory. You may have noticed all the recent reports of food processing plant fires and explosions in natural gas terminals and oil refineries. Some people wonder if the government is up to something.
But there’s a simpler possibility, if you want to attribute human agency to the apparent rash of problems with food and energy producers. The most recent refinery explosion triggered online speculation about RUSSIAN involvement, suggesting that — perhaps — the Russians are sabotaging domestic U.S. food and energy production in retaliation for sanctions and all the nasty business we’ve been getting up to over in Ukraine.
This speculation was fueled by some circumstantial evidence linking Russian activity to the latest refinery explosion. But are these speculations really just a false-flag psyop, to fuel anger toward Russia, like how German saboteurs were blamed for everything that went wrong during World War II? Or, could it be true — a relatively easy and unaccountable way for Russia to pressure the U.S. into getting out of Russia’s hair? Or is it all just coincidence?
Who knows! But it IS an interesting thought experiment. Let me know what you think in the comments.*********************************
*THE MINORITY REPORT*
CBS News ran a story yesterday headlined, “Moscow threatens NATO member Lithuania over transit ban on goods to Russia’s European exclave Kaliningrad.”
The story is about Lithuania’s weekend announcement that it was breaking its treaty with Russia, a treaty requiring it to allow overland transportation between mainland Russia and its outpost on the Baltic Sea, Kaliningrad. Russia promptly and unsurprisingly responded with fury. Now, a few days later, there are some developments.
First, Russia has escalated its warnings. On Tuesday, Russia’s top security minister Nikolai Patrushev opined darkly to Russian media that, ”Russia will certainly respond to such hostile actions. The consequences will have a serious negative impact on the population of Lithuania.”
Whoops. That doesn’t sound too good for the Lithuanians.
Next, Lithuania seemed to pull back a little, clarifying that its embargo was ONLY related to sanctioned goods. It explained any passengers and goods not under sanctions can still travel through its territory pursuant to the treaty. But that still halves the amount of goods normally sent to Kaliningrad.
Twitter avatar for @IngridaSimonyteIngrida Šimonytė @IngridaSimonyte
Any talk of a blockade of Kaliningrad is a lie.Lithuania is complying with the sanctions imposed by the on Russia for its aggression and war against .
The sanctions were agreed by all the EU member states on March 15.
June 22nd 2022
989 Retweets4,202 LikesMonday, the US stuck its oar in, when State Department spokesman Ned Price warned, “We support our NATO allies, we support Lithuania. Our commitment to NATO’s Article 5 is unbreakable.” So take that.
Finally, the EU chimed in, sticking up for little Lithuania explaining it was just complying with international sanctions against Russia, on account of Russia’s military adventurism in Ukraine. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell loquaciously said, “Lithuania is not guilty. It is not implementing national [unilateral] sanctions. It is not implementing their will. Whatever they are doing has been the consequence of the previous consultation with the [European] Commission.”
In other words, pick on someone your own size.
War isn’t inevitable yet. The Russians showed they have non-military leverage. Lithuania largely depends on Russia for power. Russian lawmaker Leonid Slutsky said yesterday that Moscow could maybe just unplug Lithuania from the regional power grid. Russia’s Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova told media yesterday that its response to the crisis will be “practical,” not “diplomatic.”

⚡️BREAKING NEWS⚡️Russia’s response to the restrictions targeting cargo transit from Kaliningrad through Lithuania will NOT be diplomatic – Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova
June 22nd 2022
161 Retweets464 LikesI think “practical” means it’s going to hurt.
CBS’ article explained that the West thinks Russia has been using Kaliningrad’s Baltic seaport to evade sanctions, so this is clearly a tactic to put more sanctions pressure on Russia. It seems certain that SOMEoNE is going to have to back down. The question is: will it be Russia or the West?
Stay tuned!

From C&C comments:
I’m from the Northeast, but moved to Florida 20 years ago. With all due respect to those NORMAL people from that area currently under tyrannical government rule, you can keep your yankees AND your doodles. Now ‘scuse me while I get my gator wrastlin’ tickets. Chitlins forever ya’ll!
.
I can’t remember where, but I’ve read that the ‘rash’ of food production facilities is at normal levels. So it seems like these memes may be just fear-porn for the right (yes it happens). I work in manufacturing, and we’ve had double or triple our normal injuries and accidents in the past year. It’s largely due to experienced boomers retiring and completely green new hires to replace the retirees. Sometimes it’s surprising that these 18-25 year olds even know how to tie their own shoelaces. If anything is responsible for accidents in manufacturing, I’d guess it’s occurring because of young new hires making mistakes.
Russian saboteurs? Give me a freaking break. That’s ridiculous.
Considering the recent article re Bill Gates farmland grab in N.Dakota–now under investigation due to legal limitations, we should be more wary of ulterior motives and the suspects who stand to gain financial advantages. While I won’t necessarily jump to conclusions re Russian saboteurs(why not CCP, or the Soros gangsters?) I still have concerns regarding many folks that seem unable to grasp the idea that the world is at war. The MSM has bamboozled too many people with myths re Ukraine vs Russia. Meantime, the war profiteering continues.
.
Just because someone is bringing it to your attention now does not mean there is in fact a trend, increase, or actual problem.
A funny thing with our minds, when we are made aware of something we start to see it everywhere, especially when you go looking for it. Start actually looking for stuff there’s a good chance you’ll find it even if it doesn’t actually exist (note how the crazies see ‘racism’ and ‘white supremacy’ in everything)
Define/identify qualifying facilities. Does an Amazon warehouse count? They do ship food stuff even if its not the primary business. How about my local farm store’s warehouses? They sell spices etc for sausage making, as well as snack foods. In my town there are two companies that custom process deer in fall and the rest of the year make sausage and hams. Do they count?
How many such facilities are there in the US? If there’s 200,000 such places in the country its not out of the realm of possibility that what is being claimed as an anomaly is in fact entirely normal, including multiple crashes of light aircraft (on avg there are 2 or 3 light aircraft crashes a day in the US. Airports often being near industrial buildings the odds of landing on a ‘food processor’ are fairly good)
What exactly constitutes a fire worthy of being counted? A single machine with faulty wiring catching fire in a 300,000 square foot building is not exactly earth shattering news.
How many incidents in 2018? 2015? 2010?
Until you can answer this stuff its fear-porn.
.
Also, not much maintenance got done during the scamdemic and work from home nonsense – lack of maintenance is also an explanation for some incidents…
.
Is it possible for this administration to do anything so asinine that it would compel the American people to demand a return to the Rule of Law?
Where does it say in the Constitution that the misnamed “federal” government (the central government in DC is anything but federal) can regulate nicotine content in cigarettes, and do so without legislation?
Once upon a time, the government wanted to ban the sale of alcohol.
It passed a Constitutional Amendment to do so.
.
“The Administration claims the move is part of its anti-cancer initiative. Now we see how it will work. Instead of CURING cancer, they’ll just ban everything that “thuh Science” says causes cancer. Problem solved!”
So I guess this means they’ll ban the covid “vaccine” soon? Just wondering…
.
I wonder if Biden knows you can buy nicotine tablets at the grocery store, or Walgreen’s, or from Amazon. Is he planning to regulate 95% of the nicotine out of those too?
Nicotine gum too. Did some digging back when the tobacco companies were under fire. It’s the stuff they added to cigarettes that was the bigger problem. The additives made cigarettes more addictive than just nicotine would be.
Wonder if he’ll make an exception for the Natives? They still use tobacco ceremonially.
.
Highly educated Elites ? You mean Dumbed Down Elites. Because anyone who believes any of that claptrack is an idiot. Attending school is different from innate intelligence and ability to discern.

Read this to understand more about the ABIM’s stance on “misinformation”:
“We have a responsibility—as board certified physicians who truly have medical expertise—to take decisive action and combat this rising tide of harmful misinformation.”
“That’s why ABIM, the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) and the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) recently issued a joint statement on the dissemination of misinformation, which read in part that “…such unethical or unprofessional conduct may prompt their respective board to take action that could put their certification at risk.” ”
The implication is that McCullough does not have medical expertise, he’s unethical, and unprofessional.
If these are “traits” of Dr McCullough, then I would ask the ABIM what “traits” they exhibit with their
of cv patients, vax injured patients, etc. and how these exhibit expertise, ethics, professionalism, and do no harm. https://blog.abim.org/a-message-from-dr-richard-baron-about-covid-19-misinformation/
.
Apparently there have been something like 36 fires this year at food processing plants. I wonder what the statistical probability of that is. My instinct says that there is something nefarious going on.
There is. The deep state wants us dependent on government controlled food supplies, along with everything else. Bill Gates is buying up land all over the US. Farmers are also being paid to burn their crops! What?!! With gas prices way over the top and all the food supplies being trashed, if things don’t change fast, we’re in deep trouble. That being said, God is available for prayers at any time.
.
Jeff…of course the best way to CURE cancer is to address the CAUSES of cancer (like smoking, and the standard American diet). We’d be much better off if gov/”science”/WHO, etc. would focus on addressing the root causes of disease instead of just treating the symptoms with pharmaceuticals.
Fair, but I’m not concerned about “addressing” causes. However, banning red meat, for example, is not constitutional. If you want to try to persuade me not to eat red meat because “the science” says it causes cancer, fine, but don’t coerce me.
And … now do food additives. Like sugar substitutes, dyes, preservatives, etc. Should the government ban those too?
.
Great Work!!! Not sure if you have a seen this video from 6.18 by journalist inside Ukraine. He sent out a warning to all americans about the exactly what is happening with Lithuania Russia situation. https://thesaker.is/gonzalo-lira-important-a-message-for-americans/
.
Our state department and Biden’s messing around in Linengrade/ Poland is very dangerous. Putin will use force to keep that area open for commerce/ travel. If Russia attacks that NATO country we will be forced into a war we can not win. Most likely it will become nuclear. Russia has 1 million troops they rotate in at 1.9k every 90 days. Their troops are reconstituted, against US and NATO troops which rely on a volunteer woke force! Biden needs to de- escalate but he will most likely double down. He will drag us into an UN winnable war, that will injure and kill unthinkable amounts of soldiers and civilians. It’s a dangerous game and the US will pay dearly for Biden’s inept foreign policy.

I used to have a solar cooker. I may need to make another one.
Seein’ as how God has blessed us with all of this UV energy…why should I heat up my house any more than I am already?
And this afternoon I start the prep for tomorrow’s butt jab. Really not looking forward to it. I just had breakfast, and I think it may be my only meal today.
I watched a video yesterday on the benefits of extended fasts, and I need to do more of those. Skipping meals today and tomorrow won’t kill me; quite the contrary.
Talk about extending my pantry stores…

I think Hubby’s gonna get chicken soup tonight. I can put everything in the crock pot and let it sit there until he’s ready to eat. I have the fixin’s either on the shelf or in the frig. I have sooooo much chicken stock right now that storage is becoming a problem. And I have some failed canning chicken taking up room in the freezer. It just makes sense. I have plenty of stuff in my Fred jars to add in, and I can make him a cold sandwich to accompany.
Because having a hot soup after working in the heat all day really needs something to offset the heat load of the day.
And I can do this ahead of time, because cooking may not be an option for me later. I’ll be too………distracted.

The doc who was my EMS medical director for many years at the ambulance company where I worked (and who shared the best info with us on Covid from the very beginning) shared this article from Epoch Times with the Title “Vaccination Increased Risk of Covid-19 infection, But Infection Without Vaccination Gives Immunity”
Having two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine has been linked with negative protection against symptomatic infection with the disease, scientists say, while a previous infection without vaccination offers around 50 percent immunity, according to a study analyzing the Omicron wave in Qatar.
The study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine on June 15, examined the Omicron wave in Qatar that occurred from around December 2021 to February 2022, comparing vaccination rates and immunity among more than 100,000 Omicron infected and non-infected individuals.
The authors of the study found that those who had a prior infection but no vaccination had a 46.1 and 50 percent immunity against the two subvariants of the Omicron variant, even at an interval of more than 300 days since the previous infection.
However, individuals who received two doses of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccinebut had no previous infection, were found with negative immunity against both BA.1 and BA.2 Omicron subvariants, indicating an increased risk of contracting COVID-19 than an average person without prior infection and vaccination.

Really appreciate the tip.
Restaurant recommendations are always appreciated and somewhat rare around here for some reason.

Grampa’s funeral will be Wednesday and Mrs. Z and I decided it is best she fly out alone. For one thing it will be a WHOLE lot cheaper than to drive out and back. Mrs. Z will fly out with her cousin who lives right here in Spring and is also a grand daughter of Grampa Wild. My son-in-law suggested bereavement tickets so I thin that is what they are looking into right now. This way I need not take any summer school time off. That extra money is going into house care, dog bills, and better glasses for Aedhun. Oh… and to help pay down the credit card. 🙂

This summer has seemed very dry for Houston standards. My understanding is that heat from the Sahara made its way to Houston as well as many other parts of the world. When I got to the dog park yesterday I did not know it had rained and boy was that humidity way up than it has been. I was drenching in sweat just watching Kuro taking a break in one of the kiddie pools the park has.

Bless the Workers that have to continue to work outside in this Heat!
My Dad Had is Air Condition Unit finally break down this week. We knew it was coming but were hoping to have it replaced it in cooler weather. The heater needs to be replaced as well and the coil is in the attic. That will probably have to wait for some cooler weather.
My Dad lives in Columbus Texas in a House that was a Sears Craftsman House built from a kit about 1940. It is up on blocks and is very well built, sans insulation and single pane windows. All the exterior walls and ceilings have 3/4” x 6” tong and groove on a diagonal for additional strength and then the drywall wall nailed to that. I believe in a major flood this would be one of the Houses that could float down the Colorado to the Gulf. In Tact!
I’m headed that way Saturday to visit with Dad and see how everything turned out. Because I-10 as been torn up for about 3 years I have been going the back way from Tomball.

Done with gardening. The ants did a number on my feet. Ouch.
While turning on the water, I saw movement in a burrow that I’d not noticed before. I couldn’t see what it was, so of course I was thinking the worst – rats. I sprayed a good amount of water on hard spray into the hole, but nothing moved. I was going to give Hubby a heads up on a possible rodent issue, but when I went to dump some soapy water on the ants there (who had nibbled so enthusiastically on my feet), I saw what it was.
Toad. It was a toad. Toads are okay, he can make himself quite at home there. As long as he doesn’t jump into my face. I don’t know if it’s the same one or just his cousin, but either way, keep your toady little feet out of my face, and we’ll be quite happy living side by side.

There are only a few airlines offering bereavement fares anymore. Two that I recall are United and Alaska.
Call the funeral home in Utah and ask if they can do it for you. Squawk is the one who told me about this. If that doesn’t work, use Cheapo Air for best price tickets.
-
Thank you. I will pass that info along.
-
Texpat;
My son-in-law saw numbers to call for bereavement tickets from Delta and American Airlines as well.
-
Shannon;
Thank you!

Sealy to the Brazos is open.
Delays still happening occasionally because of ongoing construction from the Brazos to Brookshire.
Sundays westbound still backing up to Columbus or even farther, I hear.
Thanks for the heads up.
I normally catch I-10 at Brookshire and it has been a mess for 3 years.
Coming back on I-10 I have been it stopped traffic for more than 2 hours on occasion.
That is when I started going the back way.
If I was younger I would certainly be looking at land up around Cat Springs and Bernardo.
Pretty area.

Son in law just got off the phone with Delta. No bereavement discounts. Most pricey flight too. ChepOAir is cheapest but it is a 17 hour flight. Now youngest daughter suddenly chimed in and said she wants to go.
The sweet chaos of love. 🙂

If you are ever on FM359 heading West and just after the Brazos Bridge look to your left. There is a guy that has set up a homestead in a little patch of trees in a low area. I don’t know what he is going to do the next time the Brazos comes out of it’s banks.
Katfish it sounds like you have been stuck on I10 too. Like I said 3 years ago I gave up and started going the back way.
Come Football season I will be making that trek every weekend to watch football with Dad. I don’t particularly like Football it is just our bonding time.
He is 85 and getting short in years.
Mom passed in 2020 so he enjoys the company.

Today’s CWS baseball game. The last spot for the championship games will be decided here starting in about an hour. Arkansas was facing a must win situation last night just to stay alive to play again today. Leading by a score of 3-1 but facing Ole Miss in bottom of 9th, the Arkansas pitcher allowed OM to load the bases with no one out. Next pitcher gets a strike out, then a long sac fly to the outfield letting runner score from 3rd, making score 3-2. Next batter flies out to preserve the win for Ark, but it was a nail biter right to the end. Another good game should happen today.
Just a personal request, but seeing the incompetent press sec saying something stupid for an OC picture, which does not go away but sits there indefinitely, is very disconcerting to me. Those people get all the press they need all over TV and the internet without us having to publicize and promote it here too. It’s no surprise that she is dumber than a box full of hammers, and everyone knows that she’s promoting the Bidet agenda, so I just don’t see why it has to be brought over here. And I’m not even sure that she mis-spoke; that may be what she intended all along, so it’s not even a got-cha. Just my $.02, and not intended to offend. I do appreciate the people that make sure just about every day someone is there to open the door to let the couch critters come streaming in.

Elevate/alleviate… they rhyme. Maybe she was trying for a homonym? All this boils down to governments the world over interceding to appear they do something instead of nothing. From China pretending they can control a virus thus causing supply chain issues to Russian sanctions that have backfired.

I noticed the other day that you asked about Monkey Werx. Monkey is an excellent source for watching the moves on the chess board. Monkey is X-military and worked for Lockheed Martin at all levels of the F-32 project. He is not one to tout his inside sources but he is well sourced from that level. He is no Johnny come lately. Once you learn what he is talking about, the oh wow factor kicks in. I have seen him way ahead of the curve on things several times. His motto is if you want to know what is in the offing watch where the airplanes are going. He does a great job identifying what planes are used for what and by whom. He vets all the information that he passes along. You will soon figure out the nuances that Flashbang = Biden, The Kenyan = Obama, Bob Marley (my favorite) = Kmamla H. Places like The spa = Gitmo, the Brownstone = Washington DC or the white house. The guy is good.
Another source to watch is John Haller. john is a lawyer in Ohio. He dissects the news with a scalpel. I remember the days when his reports were 30 minutes. so much is going on he often hits 1.5 hours and more. The truth and oh wow factors are high. You will have to get used to his voice but he “nails IT” down.

Thanks for the correction. Yes FM529.
This guy is just past the House on stilts and just before the curve leading up the hill to FM331 right to Racoon Bend and left to Sealy.
He must have just bought it because he has a make shift drive and a haphazard stone entry. Because of the dense trees it is hard to see if there is a structure yet. He might be living out of his truck?
That whole area is a hot bed of Cyclist on the weekend and sometimes I get stuck behind them. Not fun!
Somebody mentioned Steck Bottom Rd awhile back and it is hard to believe Sealy ISD bought that. Ain’t nothin out there.
Shannon on a different note, you are doing much better than me after your loss. I lost a wife to breast cancer in 1991 and I was a basket case for months.
Take care.

Actually that 350 or so acres was donated by a family to Bellville ISD many years ago. They recently sold it to repurpose the Wells Fargo Bank Building on the square for several Vocational tract programs – which they bought last year. And some other projects.

John and I are real world friends. He and I bounce things off each other in the course of events. That is not to say he takes and reports on what I say but there is a lot of “hey did you see this”. If John is wrong he quickly corrects the record. He is a reliable source of news.

BTW; It is HOT in south Alabama, 103 on the old GMC dash. The bad news is that the humidity is back, Tuesday and Wednesday it was hot but with the low humidity it wasn’t bad at all working in the shade, at least until after noon time. I got out early to chip up the privet hedge that we cut yesterday and just walking a round in the shade before 8 AM was brutal. I was soaking wet before I started to work. Wife had an eye Doc appointment so she took the day off. She asked me if I wanted her to cancel the appointment so she could help but I told her since she’d worked like common laborer for the last three days she should take a day off. I quit early, (about 2 PM) and made a grocery store run. Now I’m soaking up the BTU’s here in the house. 😉

Most of us here are escapees from the Lonestar Times dot com days. I was the moderator (and back end mechanic all round nice guy) of that blog. Hamous (PBUHGRHS), Texpat (BOHICA) and I think Shannon (WTF) were contributors. Everyone else (I think) were loyal readers or maybe not so loyal but readers just the same. I know from the data numbers of visitors to the site we averaged a bushel load of lurkers. I know from the sections of the site that people visited our comments sections were more popular than the front pagers.
LST closed up and we gravitated to Hamous V1.0. Hammie (PBUHGRHS) went home to be with the Lord so 3 members of this iteration of Hambone now own and operate this blog. I am officially retired from blogging duties (moderating and writing) but do offer some back end maintenance help. Other than that I occupy the place of one who should remain ignored. We got a good group of people here, a safe place to come and talk.

I’ve set up command center downstairs, close to the bathroom. I’ve chosen clothing that I think is optimal for the situation. Hubby’s dinner is made so I don’t have to deal with food. At the thrift shop today, a woman who’s been through several colonoscopies convinced me to buy some adult diapers. “Trust me, you’ll thank me later. Sometimes you have no warning.” I’ve begun the “evacuation procedures,” but they haven’t kicked in. Yet.

Thanks for the link for John Haller and the brief History of this blog.
I lived not too far from John’s Church located in Sunbury, Ohio. We lived in Gahanna for awhile and my Sister graduated from Westerville. Also had grandparents that lived on Upper Arlington ,all Columbus ,Ohio proper.
I was up there on business a few years back and visited a Baptist Church in Gahanna across the street from a grade school I went to. Had great fellowship but was hoping to go to Alister Beggs church in Solon Ohio. But I missed that opportunity.
I might be mistaken but to gain access to this blog used to be extremely difficult. That is why I contacted Gene and he walked me through the process. My Friend that keeps this up on his Desk Top couldn’t figure out how to join either.
Could be good in a way. Like Bible Studies, sometimes smaller groups are better.
Thanks

Due to the first colonoscopy I ever had, ~ 15 years ago, netting one polyp, that doc has had me on his schedule every 3 years since then. Always had from 1 to 3 polyps removed, but none were ever cancer when sent to the lab. The procedure I had in October 2021 finally broke the pattern: no polyps found. So this time I am not on his schedule again for 5 years. I hope this doc is still doing colonoscopies for the rest of my life.
BTW, I have never needed adult diapers during the evening-before prep, but it couldn’t hurt to have them just in case.
-
I believe this may be the first time that I’ve been involved in a live blogging colonoscopy prep. Ole Miss took out Arkansas to take the remaining spot at the CWS, so now it will be the best of 3 between Ole Miss and Oklahoma. Frankly, I’m not surprised that Ole Miss is there, but I am surprised at OU. OU seems to be peaking at just the right time, and the games should be good ones.
Still hotter than blazes out here. I ate a little early this evening. Had yet another of my now patented squash and onions sauteed in butter with salt and pepper seasoning, and it was good once again. That should be all from me for a while.

#117 Shannon – corn meal-fried is for “patty pan” (white scalloped flat space-ship looking ones) squash because that’s the way Mama cooked them – softish in the middle, and crispy on the outside… but I don’t sauté the yellow one til they are mushy – my preference is more towards the al dente side, as well…

BTW – I was running errands before stuff got started in the late afternoon. One of the errands was to the thrift store to see if they had any canning jars. They didn’t but the little Baptist church along the way had two at their garage sale. I had noticed some piles out for heavy trash pickup.
I’m always on the lookout for storage totes and plastic outdoor chairs for my garden, so I took a trip down one of the nearby streets. I found so many chairs that I had to leave one behind because I ran out of room in the car. Since new chairs are easily $20+, I saved over $100 today. I was glad I passed on the totes I saw earlier. I had picked up some storage totes a few days ago, and I have a few that need to be planted.
The chairs are dirty and one of them has a broken arm on it, but I hosed ’em down well and my plants won’t care that they are old or scuffed up. If I cared how they looked, I could clean ’em up more and maybe paint them. But I don’t care, and it’s not worth the effort.
If the last chair is still there when I’m feeling up to it, I’m gonna go grab it.

Appreciate all you do Squawk.
That friend of mine that keeps this page up on his Desktop all day is a retired programmer. After he retired he never did another line of Code! His Son picked up the mantle and is doing programming for a company in Austin.
Turns out my friend has become one of the Best Cabinetmakers I have met.
We both used to do volunteer work with an organization called Volunteer Christian Builders. I left about 3 years ago and he stayed on in the Cabinet Area.
It used to be Texas Baptist Men’s Ministry that did the cabinets but they stopped and turned all the equipment over to VCB.
I used to volunteer with a retired Truck Driver too. He was the best all around craftsmen I ever met. His wife help put him through College to become a Mechanical Engineer. He graduated and after doing Mechanical Engineering for awhile he told his wife he wanted quit and become a Long Haul Driver. He did and was able to retire early. You never know!
I’m going to chime in on Paul (Saul).
Not being accepted as a true Apostle probably grieved Paul a lot. He references “A Thorn In My Side” as his nagging sin. Scholars have been all over the map on this and it is my belief we are to never know what that Sin was. Because if we knew we would say at least I don’t have that Sin Paul had!
When Saul’s eyes scaled over the Disciples that first saw him said that is Saul the persecutors of Christians.
I would have been in that camp. It took a leap of Faith to accept Saul and strong Christian.
I would have failed my first test.
