My 7th grade Texas History class did a field trip (from Abilene) to San Antonio to see the Alamo, the San Jose Mission, and other sites we learned about IN Texas History class – ending up at the Witte Museum/Brackenridge Park – and pedal boats… so fascinating an activity that the (7th grade) boys began to play pirates – ramming their pedal boat into another, boarding and capturing the hapless boat… til the boats drifted apart whilst one of the guys was “boarding” his captured vessel – and he fell in that oooooky green water, which (surprisingly enough) was much… Read more »
Got outside today for a while. Some of the potted plants needed a little TLC after last night’s storm, and I got a new knock out rose bush which is supposed to be fool proof after my others died, so I put it in a big planter pot. Hacked around on some new cactus plants trying to sprout up out back, treated a few ant beds, and generally messed around outside. Felt good to get out and exercise. Grass is slowly starting to get a little green showing, but it’s going to take it a while, and we are going… Read more »
I’m not even sure what paddle boarding actually is. It doesn’t sound like much fun to me.
I think the first and last time I ever got into a pedal boat was at Aquarena Springs in San Marcos back when I was about 9 years old (circa 1960-61). I recall it was a veritable stupid experience with me wondering why grownups would bother to invent anything so boring.
Lots of tears and grandstanding about what happened in Uvalde from the politicians but 0 tears shed for the 1000s of children that have been killed, sex trafficked and raped because of open borders.
Dead bodies found almost every day down there.
Property destruction almost every day.
Country being destroyed which will impact children’s lives negatively for decades to come.
0 tears.
BUT the most evil one of the whole damn bunch has got to be Wendy Byrde.
We watched last night. I have been amazed that Marty Bird tolerates her BS at all. He may be a brilliant money launderer, but he sucks as a human and a man.
I refuse to follow the coverage and reaction to the slaughter in Uvalde. Amen! Wife and I will catch another episode of Ozark, we’re about halfway through the last season. BTW; You may think that Navarro or Darlene are the most evil folks on that show and might even include that Lady Lawyer, Helen that was snuffed in the last series. BUT the most evil one of the whole damn bunch has got to be Wendy Byrde. There is nothing she’ll not do to advance her power including killing off her brother. My #48 Correction; It was the Mayor of Uvalde that called out Francis and I can’t quote him but he basically said “I can’t believe that you’re such sick SOB that you would come here just for personal political gain”.
I refuse to follow the coverage and reaction to the slaughter in Uvalde. That’s what sports radio, YouTube music, and my YouTube subscriptions are for.
One news update a day on the subject is plenty.
I belong to a small group from my former parish who keep in touch and pray for each other. One of the women – not one of the original group or I may not have wanted to be in it – is a hardcore lib. Her husband, when alive, was a royal pain in my a$$ during my ministry years at church. They are two “entitled” individuals, true lib believers, and she is totally run by her emotions. Let’s just say that having a discussion about the shooting has been….challenging. Especially via text messages. I’d slap her but I can’t… Read more »

I’d have to stay in a hotel overnight downtown in order to be in the jury assembly room at 7 a.m. My cats say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.
#42 Shannon, I had to remind myself that I’ve been retired for over a year now because I’m afraid I might know what color ambulance that was… and would go ballistic… after 28 years I do understand not getting a meal break, and going on a “long transport” but… so instead – thank you for handling it in the most effective manner possible – case management knows where the tender painful spots are

The WHO recently announced plans for an international pandemic treaty tied to a digital passport and digital ID system. I was stunned to get a jury summons in the mail today. I was looking all over it for a number to call and tell them I am 78 y.o. What I found was the internet address where you can provide that info online these days. I think it’s probably been 12 years since the last time I was summoned, and in fact picked for that jury. Of course, my age does not automatically exempt me, and if it weren’t DOWNTOWN at 7 a.m., I might have signed up for it.
Got out in the somewhat muddy flower bed and grubbed a few weeds, planted a couple of more pepper plants which originated as seeds from one of my salad peppers. Expecting a new rose bush from the little brown truck today, and I’ve decided to initially plant it in a large pot rather than in the ground. The two that are in the ground I’m pretty sure are really dead, but I’m leaving them for the time being and plan to replace them in February. Found a few any beds that were forced to the surface by the rain, so… Read more »
There was quite the interesting phenomenon in Nashville on Sunday: There must have been a big collegiate softball tournament or a lesbian convention or something because they were everywhere. Hundreds or thousands of them all in the Broadway area. That being said, everyone was behaving themxirits selves.
#47 YES I saw that, today Francis O’Rourke just made damn sure that he would NOT be the next Governor of Texas. I didn’t think he had a chance now I know he don’t. Screaming at the Press conference just to make political points to the whack-job left. One of the old guys on the stage called him stupid SOB, (not the abbreviation). He was escorted out by several officers but I wish they’d tackled the bastard, threw on the ground and handcuffed him. Only about 30% of the complete IDIOTS would have a problem with that. ~SPITS~
I took an extra day off after the trip and am now producing more Honeyshine. Got one on the still and another just started to actively ferment. The first one will be ready in 3 weeks.
Yup, Katie Britt almost pulled it off @ 45%, Mo Brooks 29% and Mike Durant 23%.
I reluctantly voted for Mo Brooks and will again in the run-off but Britt is likely to win it all. She was an aide for Shelby and that gives her some credentials or so it seems.
I finally got around to watching the video of Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s Theory of Stupidity. I read all the text yesterday but the video is an added bonus and it shows perfectly the modern Democratic/Progressive/Communists Party along with the Lamestream Media.
27 Tedtam Yes, he did and this is a huge development. Francis Menton also mentions this article he wrote in 2017 on the same subject. TOK is closed today since they wanted to go to some end of year school function. So I’m sitting here drinking my own coffee this morning. Bright sunshine and cloudless skies today, but the cool temps are delightful outside. Waiting for the grass to green up, but it’s going to take a couple of days or more it looks like. It was in deep dormant sleep and is not going to recover overnight. OK, that’s it for now.

Somebody once wrote a book called To Kill a Mockingbird. I don’t think it ever sold any copies and faded into oblivion.
Don’t hurt the birds, Tim!
Ok the novelty of the mockingbirds nesting in the planter on the back porch has about ran its course.
Pretty sure as a boy, I was in a pedal boat the first time I used the phrase, “Man, this sucks.”
Someone’s going to have to explain the attraction of paddle boarding.
Looks even less fun than pedal boats.
History records nary a single soul who got in a pedal boat twice.

Beta is such a loser. Interrupting a press conference to make his political agenda while families are just beginning to mourn their lost children.
You know the type.
Generation Z.
No eye contact.
Vocabulary consists of a series of strange grunts.
Probably needed a bath. For a while.
No.
They were surly.
Looked to me like they were probably rejected by Dykes On Bikes for being too ugly.
Was second stop at a bar?
Dang. Did they even offer her anything? Sonic Blast maybe??
Yesterday, we were wondering why the ambulance transport from Katy was taking so long. I assumed they got caught up in the I-10 construction.
Today I learned from Fay that these two losers stopped and ate at Sonic. And also made a second stop.
I reported it to the Case Manager at Hermann and she went calmly ballistic and thanked me for letting them know.
Woooops, I read to the bottom a couple hours ago, but got distracted and forgot to say HI! So: Howdy one and all.
I’ll just leave this right here. 😀
I know, it’s BAAD!!
Just heard a transformer blow a few streets over. Not too hot today, so must be squirrel related.
Those things explode quite impressively. Loud. Like, REALLY loud.
A Center point employee told me they hate our neighborhood. It’s either branches or squirrels.

Return to Tradition discusses “Lady Moloch” eating and drinking her own condemnation.
“sleepy Caesar” heh heh heh

Yes, that line looks to be training right over you.
When Judas Pence showed up to campaign for Pontius Kemp in Georgia I knew the fix was in.
They stole the election for the Wooden Dummy in Georgia in 2020 and still won big fair and square yesterday?
C’mon man!
What person who voted for and supports Trump would vote for the candidate Judas Pence campaigned for?
The Hell?
No way those two Vampyres, kemp and rafflesburger, won fair and square and by that huge of margin.
Just another sham election rigged by the blood sucking Kentucky Swamp Turtle and the Deep State Rino company.

So hopeful that this administrative farce of a “judicial system” gets hacked into little pieces and thrown into a fire.
