Six Navy Seals have set their sights on taking enough seats to take down Nazi Pelosi.

Six former Navy SEALs released an ad highlighting their campaigns for six separate seats in the House of Representatives with one unifying goal: to take away Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s control in Congress.

The six conservative-minded SEALs include Morgan Luttrell in Texas’s 8th Congressional District, Brady Duke for Florida’s 7th District, Eli Crane for Arizona’s 2nd District, Derrick Van Orden for Wisconsin’s 3rd District, Ed Thelander for Maine’s 1st District, and Ryan Zinke for Montana’s 1st District.

Together, the SEALs formed a political action committee called SEAL PAC, and this week, they released a joint campaign ad indicating their runs for Congress.

In the ad, the SEALs are shown taking their oaths to defend the Constitution. Photos show the men while enlisted on various missions.

“They took a blood oath to protect America,” the ad’s narrator says. “They understand that the only easy day was yesterday. They know that our enemies are no match for their strength and their courage. These former Navy SEALs have protected America from enemies all over the world. Now they have one grave threat left.”

Well, hopefully they don’t become co-opted by the GOPe, if they haven’t been already.

    Good morning.

Morning gang. Up a little early this morning. Need to get my shower and shave before I venture out into the wild outdoors today. Got several indoor chores to take care of as well as a few errands to run. Amazon agreed to refund my 6 month old computer that quit working, so that’s something working in my favor today. Gotta get moving so I’ll be ready for my afternoon nap. Carpe Diem.

Max got me up at 3AM again.

This time, he wanted to watch the movie In The Electric Mist (2009).

It’s recommended if only because Buddy Guy and Levon Helm play some pretty prominent parts in the film. And well.

I think most of Tommy Lee Jones films are pretty mediocre, but like most guys from San Saba, he is just so damn compelling I always enjoy them anyway.

In the Senate, the ten most conservative members are:

    1.00 Sen. Marsha Blackburn [R-TN]
    0.96 Sen. Joni Ernst [R-IA]
    0.91 Sen. Mike Braun [R-IN]
    0.91 Sen. Ted Cruz [R-TX]
0.91 Sen. James “Jim” Inhofe [R-OK]
    0.91 Sen. Kevin Cramer [R-ND]
    0.90 Sen. Tom Cotton [R-AR]
    0.90 Sen. John Cornyn [R-TX]
    0.89 Sen. James Risch [R-ID]
    0.88 Sen. Marco Rubio [R-FL]

Really?!?! I do wonder how they were scored and NO, I’ve not checked it out yet. Oh and Rand Paul didn’t make the list?

Just my opinion, but these terms have lost any meaning to me:

    Republican
    Democrat
    Conservative

I watch what a given politico says, and more importantly does, then decide if they are worthy of my support.

You have to consistently watch politicians to verify their true ideology and positions, if they have any at all.  There are people in DC and Austin who repeat all the platitudes and bumper sticker slogans of their respective parties, but don’t believe in anything other than personal power and prestige.

The problem with grading strictly on legislative voting is the criteria can be misleading.  A senator or representative can vote to move a bill out of committee, vote yes to amend the bill, vote to suspend debate, vote for cloture and then vote no to kill the bill.  The politician will be bragging about how many times they voted for it and how hard they fought for the legislation to their constituents.

They can help add amendments to a bill knowing that doing so will make the bill impossible to pass giving them an opportunity to vote for legislation popular at home and bragging rights they supported it.  They’ve lied and had no intention of ever truly supporting the bill.

Nota Bene: Remember, it’s a helluva lot easier to be Joe Manchin with 60% support back in West Virginia than it is to be Kyrsten Sinema who currently has 14% support among Democrats in Arizona.

  10. Dooood Avatar

All valid points from Texpat above. To a certain extent, politicians have to be be able to work the system to be able to get anything done.  But that also reaffirms my notion that you have to be somewhat of a sociopath to even be a politician in the first place. Which leads me to the conclusion that none of them are trustworthy, even when they do appear to be “on our side” – whatever that might mean.

If you go to Liberty Score at Conservative Review, you find this:

    Cornyn – 46%

    Cruz – 82%

    Cotton – 76%

    Cramer – 60%

    Ernst – 64%

    Braun – 84%

    Blackburn – 90%

    Inhofe – 58%

    Risch – 80%

    Rubio – 56%

Liberty Score is run by Daniel Horowitz of Conservative Review.  Horowitz is an associate of Mark Levin.  They are part of the whole Blaze Media group and I can’t find their scoring disclosure information.  It used to be on their site before the merger.  They use other criteria and not just legislative voting records to score politicians.

The US Constitution, the operating manual for the Republic, is a limited list of what government is allowed to do with the undeniable implication none of these politicians and bureaucrats are to be trusted.  If the Founding Fathers didn’t trust politicians and their appointees, why should we ?

The “People of Walmart” just got much weirder:

Police say that 49-year-old Rebecca Lanette Taylor was arrested and charged with the sale and purchase of a child — a third-degree felony — KETK-TV reported.

An arrest affidavit obtained by the station explained that the unnamed child was with his mother in the self-checkout lane at a Crockett, Texas, Walmart last week when Taylor and another woman approached the two and “began commenting on [the woman’s] son’s blonde hair and blue eyes.”

“She asked how much she could purchase him for,” the document stated. “(The mom) tried to laugh this comment off, thinking Taylor was joking. Taylor told her that she had $250,000 in the car and she would pay that much for him. (The mom) told her no amount of money would do.”

Scott Quiner was transferred over the weekend to a hospital in Texas after doctors in Minnesota threated to terminate life support measures as he battled severe complications from COVID-19. Scott’s wife, Anne Quiner, appealed to the courts for a restraining order to prevent the hospital from pulling the plug as she sought a new facility to provide medical care for her husband. Scott was unvaccinated when he tested positive for COVID-19 in late October, 2021.

    and this,

Anne told Glenn that doctors in Texas were shocked by Scott’s condition after he arrived from the Minnesota hospital. Not only had he been given dangerous drugs, he was also found to be “severely malnourished.”

“The doctor [in Texas] spent two hours with Scott and when he came back out, he said, ‘I don’t know how he even made it, how he even survived that other hospital … but I will do everything I can to try to save his life,’” Anne explained.

“And the doctor [in Texas] said Scott was the most undernourished patient he has ever seen,” Holsten added.

#9 – spot on. Particularly in the Senate, Cornholio has voted to move the legislation forward (cloture, which requires 60 votes) and then vote against the legislation, knowing full well that it will pass with 51 votes. He can then go tell his donors that he voted to move their pet bills, while telling the general populous that he voted against it but there was nothing he could do. Tried and true political trick of long standing. Problem is that now people are watching and are on to him. And now he’s McConnell’s lackey in the Senate, so that’s another strike against him.

  17. Texpat Avatar

#15 – I have a hard time believing anything either of these two women said. While there may be some truth buried in there somewhere, I think it’s just a publicity stunt by the wife and a female lawyer. Let’s hear who the Texas doctor is, let’s hear him tell us these things. I’ve never heard a doctor criticize another doctor’s work out loud, much less tell some crazy woman’s crazy woman lawyer such things. I’d like that story to be fleshed out a little better before I jump all in on it.

    RE: Grandma and scammers

I do like indulging in a little Scammer Payback channel on Youtube.

The guy pretends to be a grandma (one of his personas, along with the bimbo airhead girl and Brad), and while he allows them access to his sandboxed computer, he access their computers and download/deletes their files. He even calls folks in the process of being scammed and warns them about what’s happening.

One lady that was involved in what he thought was part of the scam turned out to be a nice little old lady who’d already been taken for $30K, and they were going to use her to help launder more money from the Scammer scheme. SP contacted some allies in the California area to seek her out personally, and when they found out that she was actually a victim, they raised enough money to replace what had been stolen from her. He actually flew out thereand he and his friends delivered the money personally, then checked out her computer to make sure the scammers hadn’t left any malware. He told her to call him any time and he’d check her computer for her.

There are some nice folks out there.

I’d buy that.  Even if Brandon was dumb enough, his handlers aren’t.  Russia would not take their access to the Crimean peninsula being threatened lightly (to say the least) and the Brandon junta knows that.  I don’t doubt there is bluff going on; probably on both sides.  But the Brandon junta knows the cost of trying to call Putin’s would likely be devastating.  M.A.D.

Putin is going to and will be going into Ukraine.  It is not a matter of if it is when and he can do it whenever he wants to.

Putin will soon solidify his hold and control of Iran, Turkey and a few other mideast Israel haters.  He already owns Syria.

  50. El Gordo Avatar

Putin is going in to Ukraine, Xi is going in to Taiwan, and anybody else who want an expansionist policy is going to be moving. They all know that we have a weak President, that neither the Congress nor the people will unite with him on some foreign adventure, that there is a power vacuum at the top, and everything is out there for the taking. It does not really matter what the geopolitical forces at work might be, what matters is that the foreign enemies recognize that this is their time to take advantage – they know that they can take them any time they want, but at this time the US is powerless to do anything about it. Obama opened the door for this mischief, Trump nailed it shut, and Brandon opened it back up.

In other news, some lady called a few minutes ago about the dogs claiming to be the owner. I referred her to the dog catcher since I had them Thursday and they were gone by Friday. That means they were out Wednesday night (20 degrees) and Thursday night (13 degrees) before I was finally able to coax them in on Friday morning. I posted photos on the County gossip line, the county Friends of Animals picked it up, the dog catcher was involved from the beginning, and I’ve had over 100 likes on the postings about what was happening with them. So the point is, the information was widely spread out there and no one called about anything. They had no tags or collars. So even if this woman claims to be the owner, so what – the dog catcher should ticket her to start with. The home they went to will take loving care of them, so whether or not this lady can get them is anyone’s guess. May be one of those proverbial fecal matter storms brewing however. We’ll see how it turns out. It’s a miracle they survived the cold nights.

This be one was badged ProMaster City.

Those made before 2017 have a tendency to throw oil, not sure about since then. Once I read about that and the crap folks have to go through to get the warranty to fix it, I stopped looking. I’ve think I’ve decided on a Ford Transit Connect Passenger Wagon. Its roughly the same size as the Pro-Master City, but I like the side windows for ventilation without having to open any doors. The seats are removeable, there’s plenty of cargo space with just the rear seats taken out, but you can also take out one of the second row seats and put a cot sized bed in there. The big attraction for me, though, is the hatchback. When the rear seats are take out there’s kind of a well that makes for extra storage and with the hatchback up, you can cook under it like you would on a tear-drop trailer.
The only problem is, the cost of used cars has gone up so much (Lets Go Brandon!), the money I budgeted might not be enough for the nearly new and I might have to get an only slightly old. Gonna be my last car, I need something that will last a while.

Centrally located it ain’t, but I’m all in on the Dome Extravaganza in May pursuant to getting the step daughter to sit with Fay.

GJT can swing by and pick up mharper on the way.

I’d pick up Katfish, but the only time he lets anyone else drive is if it’s an ambulance driver.

I assume Super Dave is doing the catering.

It’s pretty darned hard to go through two kidney transplants at 15 and 41 years old and still have much of an immune system left after 51 years.  I know you and your family are devastated by his loss, but it’s amazing we can keep people alive today who are born that sick to begin with.  I know it is no comfort, but your wife’s nephew was lucky to live the life he did.

All my prayers are for you and your extended family.  May his memory be always a blessing.

He thinks perhaps a domestic dispute and someone took the dogs and dumped them out to punish her.

That fits pretty good. Since the dags were dumped and in fine shape I figured that an old person passed away and the executor just dumped the dogs since she/he didn’t have a heart. When one of the old ladies in our neighborhood passed away her son got her old dog and the dog lived 2 months. Died of a broken heart.
BTW; This was a lady that the wife friended and took care of when she was the Neighborhood Nazi. Wife took her grocery shopping ever week and to doctor visits. Daughter lived on the other side of town TWO HOURS AWAY!!! ~SPITS~

My wife and I actually talked about that when he was getting the jab, I wondered with his rejection drugs, if he’d be better off without a jab and take his chances. But he had both shots and the booster and still got COVID.

They’ve been trying to keep things from Fay, so the stories have been slow to make it over here.

A nice one we just got is that we had assumed that Fay’s sister had left the hospital after the surgery to stay with their youngest son (an Aggie grad researcher at Baylor College of Medicine). But she was so exhausted that she stayed in the room with him and they stayed up half the night talking. And the next morning they were cutting up and laughing because he kept ordering more breakfasts. (He hadn’t eaten in about 48 hours.)

The healing has begun but it’s going to be a tough couple more days.

It will be hard for me to make a reunion in Houston in May as much as I would like to be there.  My daughter in Oregon is graduating in early June with her BS in Nursing degree and I will be there.  Maybe I can combine the trips and make it work…we’ll see.

Hey, this is some interesting stuff.

Though best known for tequila and mezcal, Mexican spirits are as diverse as the country itself. In addition to these agave-based favorites, Mexico produces raicilla, charanda, bacanora and other increasingly popular offerings. But sotol, a spirit with roots in Mexico and ties to Texas, is increasingly popping up stateside and finding its way into more bars and bottle shops.

Sotol is made from the Dasylirion wheeleri plant, commonly called the desert spoon. The plant grows wild primarily across northern Mexico’s Chihuahua region, and can also be found in West Texas as well as southern New Mexico and Arizona. For years, the majority of sotol was produced and consumed within Mexico’s borders, but over the past decade, it’s begun to cross the border, and enterprising bartenders are adding it to their menus. Even more recently, a few Texans have begun making it.

In 2015, the founder of Austin-based Genius Gin, Mike Groener, made an experimental batch of sotol that might well be the first to ever be commercially produced outside of Mexico. That project didn’t last, but it paved the way for others. Desert Door opened a sotol distillery and tasting room in the Texas Hill Country in 2017, focusing on Texas-grown plants. And last fall, The Marfa Spirit Co. launched Chihuahuan Desert Sotol, which they made in collaboration with master sotolero Jacobo Jacquez, a sixth-generation distiller in Janos, Mexico. They’re following it up with their own version: a Texas sotol featuring locally grown plants.

BTW if any of you road warriors come across a Ford Class 3 Ambulance for sale 75K +- miles for sale LMK.  BSue and I are looking for one to build out to a campulance.  Class 3 ambulance has the walk through into the box.  We goofed cause BSue was unsure we passed up on a sweet 2005 Ford F450 Class 3 that had 45K on it for $19K.  Had two standby batteries and shore power installed.  All I would have too. do is put in an Incinolet Incinerating Toilet and build in a bed.  Later add solar.

Well, Winds of War just sort of ended with the end of Episode 7. The sequel, War and Remembrance, is just getting underway. I might get started on that tonight, but I should probably wait until tomorrow. I can go catch a little bit of The Five and Tucker and blancolirio and such until bedtime. I put a batch of country style pork ribs into the sous vide and set the timer for 150 degrees and 22 hours. That should soften them up a little, and these are not boneless, so there’s that to deal with too. Last time I did this I finished them out on the Geo Foreman grill and they turned out just great. I loke the slow cooked crock pot, but the meat seems to be just falling apart – with the sous vide it retains some texture but is still very tender.

I’ll try to check back in before turning in. More later,. you all.

Have been absorbing all the posts today and find the possibility of a get together to be delightful.  I’m directly across the Brazos from Richmond and can more easily make it to a place in west Houston or farther out west around or beyond Richmond/Rosenberg.  As of now my May calendar is wide open.  🙂

I suggest you skip your daily 5M run at Memorial Park today. The K-9 stabber is probably still in the woods over there.
