Tuesday Crazy Open Comments

She seems nice. Maybe El Gordo needs a girl friend.

A Missouri woman smiled ear to ear for her mugshot after being arrested for allegedly slaying her boyfriend with a sword on Christmas Eve.

Cape Girardeau Police arrested Brittany A. Wilson, 32, on December 24 and charged her with the first-degree murder of her 34-year-old boyfriend, Harrison Stephen Foster, according to the Associated Press.

During the 911 call, the caller stated she killed her boyfriend with a sword, KFVS reported.

Officers responded to the Barberry area around 11:05 p.m., where they found Wilson with “apparent blood on her clothing,” the Cape Girardeau Police Department stated. The Associated Press reporte that officers found a sword lying in the front yard.

Authorities said that while officers detained Wilson, more officers entered the home to check the well-being of other residents and found the deceased male victim in the basement. He “had apparent, fresh stab wounds on his body,” police said.

Wilson allegedly told police she and Foster took meth earlier that day. She claimed Foster had been harvesting body parts and had “several other entities living inside his body for the past several months.” By stabbing him, she was “setting him free,” Wilson claimed, according to police.

See? She was just being helpful.

HEADLINE: Prominent Dem Lawyer Predicts Lawsuits To Remove GOP Members From House Seats Next Year
    /snip
“My prediction for 2022: Before the midterm election, we will have a serious discussion about whether individual Republican House Members are disqualified by Section 3 of the 14th Amendment from serving in Congress,” Elias tweeted last week. “We may even see litigation.”

They are going to attempt to use the insurrection clause in the Constitution to mitigate D electoral disaster. The big question is how to define insurrection. Who is going to charge whom with what? Do the Rs get to charge Muddy Watters with instigation of violence against those who are not on the D plantation? We have all seen the video of her urging her followers to ‘get in the face’ of those who believe differently.
I would submit that those who instigate violence against the government are the insurrectionists; like the rioters in Portland who tried multiple times to burn down the Federal Courthouse; like the Glowies who funded and planned the false flag of kidnapping Wretched Whitmer; like the murder of Randy Weaver’s wife and son by the FBI; like the murder of Ashlie Babbit on 06Jan2021; like the judge Emmett Sullivan taking the role of prosecutor against Michael Flynn; like the serial lies from scum such as Adam Schiff and Gerald Nadler in their attempt to purge Trump; etc, etc, etc.
There is and has been a coordinated, ongoing insurrection against the Constitution by the Ds for at least 50 years and it is all coming to a head now.

I guess it all depends on who gets to decide what the definition of “is” is.

From the ‘you just can’t make this $#!t up’ Department we have the US House establishing a state religion:

HEADLINE: House of Representatives Votes to Eradicate Blasphemy Against Islam
The House of Representatives has passed a bill which seeks to eradicate blasphemy against Islam. The bill, H.R. 5665, is truly remarkable as it amounts to Congress making a law respecting the establishment of Islam and reducing the United States government into a tool of the world’s ayatollahs.

The actual text of the bill not only seeks to eradicate blasphemy against Islam around the world – and solely against Islam at that – but even requires the federal government to reorganize some portions of the State Department along the lines of an Islamic religious institution which will be responsible for interpreting the Quran. For example, the text of the bill mandates that “[t]he Secretary of State shall establish within the Department of State an Office” and the “purpose” of the office is described as “[m]onitoring and combating acts of Islamophobia and Islamophobic incitement that occur in foreign countries.” That is, the State Department is required to create an office which is a cross between George Orwell’s Big Brother and the Taliban.

Hopefully McConnell will shred this drek and flush it as it should be. It should never see the light of day in the Senate. I would imagine that Manchin would be on the correct side of this, I hold no illusions as to what Pierre Delecto will do, stain that he is.

Morning gang. Yeah, that seems to be right up my alley for the type of women I’m attracted to. Another warm day in store for Big D it looks like. I’m predicting a Walmart visit since I need some more maters and they’ve been out of Owens Hot Sausage since I got here, so maybe the sausage man will come today. Also looks like there may actually be some football games played today barring last second cancellations.

I’m still on the search for the perfect cheap router combination for home use. I’d like to stay no more than one generation or so behind, so I’m definitely not in the market for a Wifi 6 mesh system, but I’ve been learning a lot about routers during my research lately. I don’t need an elephant gun to hunt rabbits, but the speeds available out there now are pretty amazing. I still remember buy a Compaq portable computer once with 20MB hard drive and trying to imagine what it would take to fill that thing up with. BTW, I still think my $25 dual band range extender is going to be more than enough for my current needs, but it never hurts to look and see what’s happening out there in the geek world.

You all have a great day. Keep you posted on any new developments. More later.

The kids ate breakfast and headed out about 9 AM, they plan on making Shreveport before dark since it’s about halfway but they’ll probably push on another hour or two to make the drive home tomorrow easier. It’s 16 hours and they could make it in one day but they’d rather break it up and spend the night about halfway. When I was their age we’d drive straight through from Wichita to Podunk. 18-22 hours depending on how hard you pushed it. We usually left about 6 PM and arrived in Alabama about 2 or 3 PM the next day. I might be able to do that if I had to BUT I’d rather not. Oh and after driving all night we’d cross the Mississippi at Vicksburg then the sun would come up and someone would hit me in the back of the head with a hammer and I’d have to stop and walk around a little to get woke up. I’d make it all night without getting too sleepy but something about the sunup would knock me out.

SO! This is what we’ve come to? MERCY!!!
Texas Mom Reads Anal Sex Passage From School Book — Mic Gets Cut.

During a school board meeting of the Lake Travis Independent School District, Kara Bell utilized her time slot to expose educators for allowing the sexualization of children to take place at two of their junior high schools. Incredibly, all the Texas mother had to do to prove her outrage was to read a short excerpt from one of the books available to students.

As schools continue to adopt progressive curricula, parents are discovering that some educators are more concerned with social issues than academics. Disturbingly, one area of the social sciences that has infiltrated the education system is sexual freedom, and it’s being introduced to children right under their parents’ noses.

Local mother Kara Bell read a passage from Ashley Hope Perez’s novel “Out of Darkness,” which captures a love affair between a black boy and a Mexican-American girl in East Texas. The excerpt was so sexually explicit that the board was forced to censor the reading, The Blaze reports.

    Coffee & Covid ☙ Tuesday, December 28, 2021 ☙ FEDERAL SOLUTIONS
Two more days until the giant cup of coffee drops and Covid’s second year fades into the history books. In the roundup: Biden’s Covid deaths surge past Trump’s; Biden signals a potentially game-changing shift in policy (if he knows what he was saying); the CDC cuts quarantines; New York’s strict Covid policies don’t bear fruit; South Africa’s case fatality rate plunges; the New York Times runs an unexpected article questioning booster logic; Rogan predicts his April event in Canada won’t go; and the latest U.S. migration data shows bad news for blue states.
    ************************

    *COVID NEWS AND COMMENTARY*

It’s official! There have now been more “Covid deaths” under Joe Biden than there were under President Trump. In 2020, during the presidential debates, Biden warned darkly that “anyone who is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America.”

    Well, Joe? Your move.

    *******************

Now, I positioned this next item as a funny rejoinder to the previous one. But there’s more to it. First, what happened: on a call with the governors yesterday, some buttlicker was praising Biden’s Covid response and offered a “word of encouragement” to Biden as he “looks for federal solutions” to the pandemic.

Biden interrupted him. “Look, there IS NO federal solution,” he said curtly. “This gets solved on the state level.”

Um. Gosh. There’s just so much to work with here. What about “I’m not going to shut down the country, I’m going to shut down the virus?” Remember that one? And what about:

    — OSHA Mandate

    — CMS Mandate

    — Federal contractor mandate

    — Federal employer mandate

    — Preschool Mandate

    — Military Mandate

    — CDC No Sail Order

    — Transportation Mandate

    — and so on…

So anyway. You get the idea. This could be the very first time that Biden has taken what was always President Trump’s position: that the power to deal with health emergencies lies with the states. And that was really smart. It was smart because it was consistent with constitutional law, it was smart because it supported conservative principles of federalism and states’ rights, but it was also politically genius because Trump couldn’t be blamed for how the pandemic went.

Biden then said something remarkably Trumplike: “My message to the governors is simple: if you need something, say something,” he said. “We’re going to have your back any way we can.”

Oh! So it’s on the Governors now.

Over the last year, Biden — or whoever writes his teleprompter scripts — had fallen into the trap of trying to federalize the Covid project. If he runs it, he owns it. Maybe Team Biden is starting to get cold feet, looking at the latest case numbers?

The question that has the media buzzing this morning is, does this signal any kind of shift in policy or was it just another “Joe moment?”

Anyway, the Supreme Court, which is about to consider whether the federal government has legal authority to order the OSHA Mandate, will be very interested to hear Biden’s comment that “there is no federal solution.” We’ll see!

    ******************

The CDC has “updated” its guidance on quarantines. Now it says that, instead of 14 days, it is an “acceptable alternative” to only quarantine for only 7 days after infection. And, if you don’t have symptoms, you can come back after a negative test after 7 days, or even without a test after 10 days. How about that?

Too bad they didn’t figure this out earlier, huh? Thanks experts!

    ***********************

Two weeks into the new mask mandate, cases in New York City are up an astounding +542% … and they are up +863% since the Golden Apple started its vaccine passport program. So.

    ***************************

The moving average case fatality rate (CFR) in South Africa — the putative origin of Omicron — has crashed through the floor. It’s now reporting at the lowest levels EVER. The CFR is the ratio between confirmed cases and confirmed deaths. Since September 2020, it has averaged around 4% in South Africa, spiking up to 10% at times, and dipping three times to just under 2% — the previous lows.

But since December 20 or so, it fell straight down and has been hovering just above zero. For the first time. Ever. It sure looks like a “pandemic over” moment.

    So.

    **********************

The New York Times — the Times! — ran an unexpected article yesterday QUESTIONING BOOSTERS. I am not making that up. The headline was “Israel Considers 4th Vaccine Dose, but Some Experts Say It’s Premature.”

And check out the subhead: “Some scientists warn that too many shots might actually harm the body’s ability to fight the Covid-19 virus. But Israeli experts say there isn’t time to wait.”

There’s such as thing as “too many shots?” Holy unexpected headlines, Batman.

Now, that subhead could have gotten you thrown off Twitter about ten seconds ago. The Twitter censors must really be struggling over what to do about this one.

The article comes just a few days after the paper’s 49-year-old Asia editor died, just 24 hours after getting his Moderna booster. The Times now reports that boosters might not be a good idea, not at all, explaining “some scientists warned that the [booster] plan could backfire, because too many shots might cause a sort of immune system fatigue, compromising the body’s ability to fight the coronavirus.”

    You don’t say!

Not only that, but the Times reported that a “new British report shows that booster doses are less effective against Omicron than previous variants, and their effectiveness wears off faster — within 10 weeks.” Who could have seen THAT coming?

After almost six months of pushing boosters every chance it got, the Times now reports — as straight news — quotes from Israeli scientists that disagree with the proposed booster plan. “I respect the opinion of those who say better safe than sorry,” Professor Hagai Levine said, “and there is no problem with being prepared. But before giving a fourth shot, it is preferable to wait for the science.”

Wait for the science? In the middle of a pandemic? But why?

The story doesn’t just quote one person. It quotes SEVERAL people raising questions about the wisdom of boosting in response to the Omicron variant. In case you missed the point. For example, it quoted Chely Edery, 59, the owner of a gift shop in Jerusalem. “Like many people, I’m very ambivalent. The last thing I want is for my business to close, but I have the feeling that this time, they don’t know enough.”

Now remember, when corporate media quotes some random person, it’s to editorialize, to push the reporter’s view disguised as straight news. They quoted shopkeeper Edery to make a point. Has the Times shifted its view about the wisdom of boosters? Did the untimely death of its Asia editor have something to do with it?

The story ends on this note: Benny Muchawsky, 80, an architect, said the booster plan “seemed like hysteria.” Hysteria!
The Times finally discovers hysteria in a government’s Covid response! It’s a Covid miracle.

I’m taking this for a very good sign.

    ********************

Joe Rogan doesn’t think his sold-out April event in Vancouver, Canada, is going to happen. He explained, “I don’t think I can even get into the country. I’m not vaccinated. I’m not going to get vaccinated. I have antibodies — it doesn’t make any sense. I don’t think I can go, and even if I do go, I don’t trust that Vancouver’s not going to follow suit along with what Toronto did, cut capacity by 50%.”

    ***********************

The 2021 population migration figures have come in, and there seems to be a pattern emerging. It’s hard to say for sure, but some states seem to be doing better than others, for some reason. Florida is the biggest gainer, adding +220,890 citizens. Of course, California is the biggest loser, as -367,299 of its most productive citizens have now fled the state as Covid refugees. The second place rungs on the ladders of triumph and shame are respectively occupied by Texas (+170,307) and New York (-352,185).

I wish I could figure out what the difference is. It’s so weird. I feel like there must be a simple explanation of some kind for this mass-migration event. But what? There could be yet ANOTHER shift in congressional house seats in favor of red states soon.

She said everyone there thinks covid is a hoax or something similar to the flu. The government is a different story. They lock things down and then the people riot. She said it’s a mess with a midnight to 4am curfew. In general she says the people just want to move on with their lives but the government keeps acting like it’s the apocalypse.

Morning, Couch gang. I can’t remember the last time this happened to me, but I went to bed with a dirty kitchen last night. I had been watching a DVD episode of The Equalizer while eating my supper with the 18-y.o. cat in my lap. Suddenly I felt like I was going to throw up, and I did. It was slow-mo, so I had time to reach over and grab the waste basket beside my tv chair. After that, I did watch the rest of my show, took my dirty super dishes to the kitchen, decided that I did not feel up to loading the day’s dishes into the dishwasher, and headed to bed. Wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be this morning, having to find some other, clean bowls to feed 7 cats with. Of course, I’m now past the capacity to get everything clean in one dishwasher operation. So as soon as I finish my cottage cheese & banana, I’m going back to bed.

I was returning from my daily mail pick-up at our shop two miles from home. On the way back, just south of Bellfort, I saw a man using a walker. Each step was maybe six inches.

I originally drove past him, but 3 blocks away I circled back. His struggle reminded me so much of how I was when I blew out my back. In the time I covered that 3 block circle, he’d only moved maybe 10-15 feet. I offered him a ride. Normally, I don’t offer transportation to strangers, especially men, but this guy was in no way a threat.

He struggled to get into my front seat while struggled to figure out how to collapse his walker. We both finished our tasks and he began to navigate me to his home. On the way, he had a hard time enunciating his words and communicating with me, which led me to believe he’d had a stroke.

He took me down about 3 blocks, north 2 long blocks to Bellfort, then across to the far lane of Bellfort in a left turn, down another 3 blocks, north 1 block, then left for about 15 houses before we finally arrived at his destination. That trip had to be well over a half-mile, and involved crossing a busy four lane street. He would have been lucky to make it by dark, if at all.

I got him home, and he kept “God blessing” me the whole time. No, sir, you blessed me. God gave me the opportunity to be charitable, and this gentleman allowed me. He is someone’s son, father, brother. I pray that if I’m ever in that kind of need, someone will be kind enough to help.

I’m glad I made a difference in someone’s life today. A real difference. I may never see him again, but I’ll never forget how I felt as he struggled to exit my car. He would have been exhausted if he’d actually trudged all the way home by himself. I’m glad I listened to that gentle nudge and turned back.

I get shown a twitter of a liberal talking to herself asking why her liberal city is trashed and overrun with homeless people and a finger comes at my face to watch, I guess, my MAGA ways??

RE: Felicia Cravens & Michelle Tandler

I saw Tandler’s first Twitter posts back about a month ago and I thought she seemed like a lefty finally mugged by her environment.  It took some guts for a techie small businesswoman in San Francisco to suddenly go public with all these sane, rational regrets and lamentations about the Left and cancel culture.  I thought the MOB would drag her into a cyber alley and beat her to within an inch of her life and she would stagger, all bloodied, out into the street to plead for mercy and forgiveness…

    …but she didn’t.

Tandler has continued to post steadily with solid, logical questions, not to the Right, but to her Leftwing comrades.  She’s not getting a lot of honest answers and I believe she has made a huge crowd of people very publicly uncomfortable.  Tandler may repent and rejoin her cancel cutthroat friends or she may join the ranks of fiercely brave and loud people like Matt Taibi and Bari Weiss, two liberals who did get brutally mugged – not by criminals but by their own colleagues.

As far as what Felicia Cravens and her accusatory finger thinks about this, well, it’s pretty damned irrelevant.

To paraphrase Glenn Reynolds describing the last 30 years: “This is the worst political class in modern American history”.

It was never perfect and sometimes deeply dismal in the deeper past, but there were times in the 1940s and 50s when truly outstanding people quietly and sometimes reluctantly accepted powerful positions and made this nation what it is.

This record of accomplishment is perhaps more notable given Webb’s initial reluctance to accept the job. An experienced manager, attorney and businessman, the North Carolina native had served as Director of the Bureau of the Budget and as Undersecretary of State in the Truman administration. Webb also served as president and vice president of several private firms and served on the board of directors of the McDonnell Aircraft Company. He was not, however, a scientist or engineer-something he noted when President Kennedy asked him to consider the job as NASA Administrator.

He told an interviewer that, “I felt that I had made the pattern of my life, and I was not really the best person for this anyway. It seemed to me someone who knew more about rocketry, about space, would be a better person.” Kennedy did not see it that way. With his keen political savvy and exceptional managerial skills, Webb was perfect for the job, the President believed. He made it clear to Webb that the NASA Administrator’s job was a policy job. He needed someone who could handle the large issues of national and international policies.

JFK was not stupid and LBJ was smart enough to recognize talent when he saw it.

If we’re ever going to turn this country around for our descendants, we have to cut some slack to the members of the dark side who have the guts to stand up and strong to their friends, neighbors, colleagues, investors, business associates, venture capitalists, lenders and even family members.  They are not going to come out with guns blazing and blood in their eye for capitalism and liberty in the beginning.  We have to give them a little sympathy and cover if they need it.  Let them find their own way to the light.

It has to start somewhere and that can mean less than a handful of souls.

Bongino is causing a hissy fit at the New Yorker.

The New Yorker is uneasy about conservative radio host Dan Bongino’s rising prominence in conservative media, so it did an over 9,000-word smear of him. Talk about living rent-free in someone’s brain.

    /snip

After noting how Bongino’s Facebook page alone “has attracted more engagement than those of the Times, the Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal combined,” Osnos cited Texas A&M University professor Jennifer Mercieca to attack Bongino: “Mercieca describes Bongino as ‘an important node in the amplification of propaganda.’”

    /snip

But wait, there’s more! Osnos even tried to pin the killing of Ashli Babbitt during the Capitol Hill Riot on Bongino. “[Bongino] wrote that conservatives were being ‘put on targeting lists’ and that his opponents were ‘tyrants, nothing more.’ Less than a week later, he wrote, ‘The mask is off. They’re not hiding anymore,’” Osnos wrote. Then came the kicker: “One of the people reading, according to an analysis by National Public Radio, was Ashli Babbitt, a devoted Trump fan from Southern California. On January 6th, she was killed by police while trying to storm the Capitol. In the last year of her life, Babbitt retweeted Bongino at least fifty times.” [Emphasis added.]

Bongino reportedly snapped back as Osnos was preparing his write-up. After Bongino slammed a magazine memo as containing “obviously false material,” Bongino then later reportedly ripped Osnos on his podcast: “‘[Y]ou ass-kissing-Biden, surgically-attaching-your-lips-to-the-ass-of-the-Administration piece of garbage.’”

Bongino certainly has reason to be angry, given Osnos’ sleazy attempt to make him look like an instigator behind the events of Jan. 6. Journalist Glenn Greenwald also slammed The New Yorker’s character assasination of Bongino in a tweet: “One last point about the formulaic Bongino profile: it used to be that a @TheNewYorker hit piece by a CNN writer would be harmful. Now: it doesn’t matter. They’ve so whittled their credibility that the targets of their smears have larger audiences than they, making them impotent.”

But you’re not in the minority. Far from it. You are part of the overwhelming majority.

According to a new Rasmussen Reports survey, “75% of American Adults agree that there are only two genders, male and female. That total includes 63% who Strongly Agree. Eighteen percent (18%) disagree.”

As for J.K. Rowling, 58% support her and her views on gender, while only 17% agree that she’s a “purveyor of hate speech.”

Americans also oppose schools and teachers counseling students on sexual/gender identity without parent knowledge or consent by a 3-to-1 margin.

There’s a lesson here. Don’t cave to the mob. Stand up for sanity! Don’t let yourself be bullied into submission because, despite the visibility of the pro-transgender movement, the overwhelming majority aren’t buying the b.s. they’re pushing.

Go ahead, invite these evil jackasses into your homes…

Amazon has updated its Alexa voice assistant after it “challenged” a 10-year-old girl to touch a coin to the prongs of a half-inserted plug.

The suggestion came after the girl asked Alexa for a “challenge to do”.

“Plug in a phone charger about halfway into a wall outlet, then touch a penny to the exposed prongs,” the smart speaker said.

Amazon said it fixed the error as soon as the company became aware of it.

The girl’s mother, Kristin Livdahl, described the incident on Twitter.
