Now that’s a good one and yes, it is very close.
Mornin’ Gang -
Daughter texted me this; Recent Earthquakes in Midland Texas. She had another quake yesterday and said “who knew that she’d need earthquake insurance before her brother”.
-
The local weather guesser says we’ll have a low of 56 in the morning and a high of 79. Dang!
-
Morning gangsters and gangsterettes. 57 degrees here just before dawn, so guess I’d better get the lectric blanket out cause winter’s on the way. I put a little cat food out last night and some of it is gone this morning but not all. Usually if Rocky Raccoon finds it it’s scattered all over the place and the bowl is moved around – he’s somewhat rude with his table manners. Food scattered nearby on the patio was gone though. I went back and looked at the pictures I had taken of Crispytoo, and those markings are so unique that I’m pretty sure that was him lurking around yesterday. So I’ll work on that project for a while if I see him start coming around again. I guess his girlfriend dumped him or something like that.
In other news, nothing new to report so far. I’ll head out for coffee here shortly and then get started winterizing when I get back. You all have a good one, and more later.

Some people are fighting back. These public officials need to be harassed at all times they appear in public. Anyone that would allow them inside their store or restaurant needs to be boycotted, and they need to be driven insane (if they are not already). These Democrats get elected and think they are supposed to do something and exercise their power over people rather than serve the people. A pox on all of them. And thumbs up to the people who will try to make their lives miserable. https://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/article/Woman-harasses-Bexar-County-Judge-Nelson-Wolff-16475514.php

Correction on what I posted yesterday about Angelo Codevilla: he was not killed by a drunk driver. That was being confused with another incident involving someone else. He was involved in a multi-car accident from what I read this morning.
-
A pox on all of them. And thumbs up to the people who will try to make their lives miserable.
I agree. These power hungry imbeciles need to be made as uncomfortable as possible. Let them know they are not safe outside of their bubbles. Publicly shun them, shame them; whatever it takes to get the message through. Their side won’t hesitate to do things like doxxing our side. It’s past time to return the favor in spades.

Hubby called me this morning from Bryan. He’s up there overseeing repairs on a vacancy we have.
He talked to Handsome Son yesterday. [If y’all remember, I had to struggle and fight to get Handsome through school because of his learning disabilities.] HS & LDIL were out shopping recently and stopped to eat at a restaurant that he used to service when he worked for a different HVAC company.
The manager recognized Handsome and came over to talk. He told him how much he appreciated how well Handsome had taken care of his business in the past. Handsome told him he was now working at a different company. (He keeps getting courted by competing companies.) The manager insisted on getting the current employer’s name AND bought Handsome Son’s lunch for him and his wife. So, not only did they get a free meal, Handsome picked up his 3rd account for his boss.
And to think, we were told that we needed to prepare a place at our home where he could live for the rest of his life, since he wouldn’t be able to support himself.
-
We all got good kids. Congrats to all us.
-
Except for MH’s kids bonking each other.
-
He also told me they lost a car club member. A guy, 50’s or so, went in for a scheduled surgery and never came out. No details, but it sure made an impact on Hubby.

I enjoyed “Quantum Leap” when it was on, so a reboot would be something I’d want to see.
I wonder if Dr. Beckett makes the leap home.
Hope they don’t screw it up.

Referencing my spare tire issues yesterday, I found this with a quick search. This looks like a pretty nice set up.
Electric hydraulic jack with electric impact wrench and a tire inflator, all in one convenient package. -
Morning, chickadees. Tim, I think of all the critters I feed out back as my kiddos, too.

Are you ready for Dr. Sam (Samantha) Beckett, a BIPOC non-binary transwoman and her hologram Latinx SJW guide?
I repeat myself:
Hope they don’t screw it up. -
Hubby gave me a small hydraulic jack to keep in my car. Swapped out the donut tire for a full size spare. AND I have two containers full of first aid supplies.
Makes for a crowded storage area in my car, but I make it happen.
Note:
I was motivated to carry more first aid after being a “first responder” to a flipped car on the way home. Fortunately, the young lady seemed to suffer only scratches and bruises after the top of her Jeep came off. Thank goodness for seat belts! But realizing all I had was some hand wipes, a few band-aids, and a blanket made me feel powerless against the idea that if she’d had anything more serious, I’d have to watch her bleed in pain.I went online after that and looked up what the Red Cross said would make a good kit. I took an old, clean sheet and made up some triangular and ribbon bandages; bought some gauze, antibiotic cream, wipes, & spray; included several changes of rubber gloves; and other items on the list. I’d like to get an emergency blanket or two – they’re thin, don’t take up much room, and if someone is going into shock, it might help.
I remember a little of the first aid course I took in high school, but for the rest I’ll just have to do my best to help while doing no harm. Just having those two containers in my car makes me feel better.

Every person who ever said American democracy was born with the seeds of its own destruction are sure looking smart today.
From the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) 2021 Annual Report on College Free Speech:
Claremont McKenna has the highest ranked score on the 2021 Free Speech Rankings. The University of Chicago, the University of New Hampshire, Emory University, and Florida State University also rank highly.
DePauw University has the lowest overall score on the Free Speech Rankings for the second year in a row, confirming its place at the bottom. Marquette University, Louisiana State University, Wake Forest University, and Boston College are near the bottom of the rankings.
More than 80% of students report censoring their viewpoints at their colleges at least some of the time, with 21% saying they censor themselves often.
More than 50% of students identify racial inequality as a difficult topic to discuss on their campus.
Two thirds of students (66%) say it is acceptable to shout down a speaker to prevent them from speaking on campus, and almost one in four (23%) say it is acceptable to use violence to stop a campus speech.
FIRE ranked 157 schools and here are some of them with #1 being the best. Note that even the highest ranked school, Claremont McKenna College, only scored 72 out of a possible 100.
#19 University of Florida

Way to go Mom!
I look back on all the stress, anger, frustration, tears, and despair…and it was all worth it.
If I’d let my kid just roll in whatever program in which HISD wanted warehouse him, he probably would have a shed in my backyard, working a minimum wage job. I remember spending four hours with him on one page of homework re punctuation – he could NOT grasp the concept of commas or periods. I was in tears after four hours, but he kept wanting to keep working. Finally, after five hours, I made him put it away and go to bed. I talked to his teacher the next day and she told me it was “optional”. Handsome didn’t understand that, either.
I did my own speech therapy with him at home when he was young (and the pros said I did well). I was “the Mom” at his basketball games and trips – to keep an eye on him and because I wanted to be involved and help. I had all those ARD meetings to discuss his educational program, and they got hostile. One time we had an eight hour meeting – no breaks, except for potty breaks. They were trying to break me. Screw that.
He graduated under a “special diploma” but he eventually bloomed a few years after graduation and completed his 2 year degree at a local junior college.
We were just as proud, if not more so, of that diploma than of his sister’s four year degree. We know how hard he had to work to get there and accomplish that.
I give Handsome the credit – despite all the struggles, the frustrations, the sometimes unhelpful teachers – he never gave up, he never retreated, and he never became bitter and self-pitying. One of his speech pathologists told me it wasn’t uncommon for a kid with his severity of disability to just give up and withdraw, becoming uncommunicative and isolate himself. He never did. He just kept plugging along.
My challenge was to make sure Lovely Daughter got all the attention she deserved and needed, too, as a gifted student.
I was stretched preeeeeeeeeeeeettttttttttttttty thin those days.
But it was worth it. I’m proud of both of them.

I get blurbs from The Battalion, the campus newspaper, over yonder.
It’s definitely NOT the same university I attended. The great bastion of college conservatism is going woke.
I mourn.

You’d be much better off with this unit than the one in the #13 video. It doesn’t have enough lift distance. If you’re changing a tire on a pickup, especially 3/4 or 1 ton, you’ll definitely need some thick wood blocks, too.
-
All things considered, 25 is not bad.

They both say they’ll lift 17 inches. -

Looks like a typical 3T floor Jack will lift 20”.

30 Shannon
I just remember struggling on 3/4 and 1 tons with those factory scissor jacks that had the minimum lift. I always ended up blocking them up especially on uneven or unstable ground.
I just looked up ground clearance on Ford F-250 and F-350s and it’s 8 to 9 inches. My old F-350 was easily higher than that.
-
It’s definitely NOT the same university I attended. The great bastion of college conservatism is going woke.
I don’t have your perspective, but my daughter is up there now. Proud of her, but I’m pretty disappointed in the state of higher education in general these days and the leadership at A&M isn’t doing anything to change my mind on that. Unfortunately, this is a battle where the left (and useful idiot right) seem to be winning.
-
Two thirds of students (66%) say it is acceptable to shout down a speaker to prevent them from speaking on campus, and almost one in four (23%) say it is acceptable to use violence to stop a campus speech.
If two-thirds of American college students think it is acceptable to shout down an invited speaker on campus, then we are in big trouble, not to mention the violent little jerks.
-
Shouting down a speaker that I want to hear is violence to MY FREEDOM OF ASSOCIATION. If the little terds don’t want to hear the speaker, then leave.
Prevent me from hearing the speaker merits a throat punch.
ORStart disrupting their speakers and everyone else who violates our sensibilities.
I prefer the former to the latter.

I’ve been out chasing errands since breakfast, just looked to see how far I had gotten here on The Couch before I left. Saw the topic up around #10-#14 was good kids and bonking, and me saying that I regarded my backyard critters as “my kids”. My raccoons in particular have always been good kids, but occasionally… I take dry dog food out the back door in two 1-quart cottage cheese containers, to sprinkle around their big plastic tub of fresh water every evening. Most nights, it takes me 4 trips out to the patio to get everybody fed, between dusk and my late bedtime. Occasionally it happens that an adult raccoon will be grouchy and snarly if another critter gets too close to him while I am putting out more food. However, snarling at a baby raccoon while I am still out there results in getting a bonk on the head with one of those empty plastic cartons. Very effective.

You think things are crazy here ?
It happened in the large metropolitan city of Auckland, which is currently under what the government is calling ‘Alert Level 4’ lockdown, which is the most far-reaching in the country. It requires residents to stay at home most of the time, with all ‘non essential’ services closed including bars, restaurants, gyms and even food takeout services. Essentially people can’t even order food to go.
After nearly five weeks of Auckland in the strictest lockdown possible, New Zealand’s prime minister Jacinda Ardern has announced the restrictions are about to be lifted. Much of the rest of the country is at Level 2 – which means things like restaurants have remained open.
Hence the absurdity of “gang members” now focusing their criminal enterprise on smuggling restaurant food from Level 2 areas into Level 4 zones to make some quick cash, apparently. More details of the offense are in CNN as follows:
“Police were patrolling back roads near the outskirts of Auckland when they noticed a suspicious looking vehicle, a New Zealand Police spokesperson said in a statement Monday.
Upon seeing the officers, the vehicle did a U-turn and sped off before eventually pulling over, the statement said. When the car was searched, police found a large quantity of KFC, more than NZ$100,000 ($70,000) in cash, and “empty ounce bags.”
And here was the offense that exposed the criminal conspiracy: “Police photos show at least three buckets of chicken, about 10 cups of coleslaw, a large package of fries, and four large bags containing other KFC items.”

Good morning, C&C family! You guys have been so patient over the last few days waiting for me to resume my normal snarky Covid commentary. Well, wait no longer! I’m back. We’ll ease into the normal routine today. So just relax already.
Today’s roundup includes all good news. You’re going to love it. I threw in a bunch of links for you, too.
Yeah, I was jonesing for his snark. I love it.
So, this is HUGE. Yesterday, Governor DeSantis replaced the head of Florida’s Department of Health, Scott Rivkes, with whom the Governor has been said to have been frustrated for a long time. It is true that Rivkees — a lackluster pro-masker — has long been an impediment to fixing the schools. His replacement, the new Surgeon General, is Dr. Joseph Ladapo — a 42-year old Harvard-trained cardiovascular specialist. It was a terrific move, signaling the Governor is about to get super serious about Florida’s Covid-19 policies.
During the press conference yesterday announcing his appointment, Ladapo said some very encouraging things. Here are a sample of his comments:
”Florida will completely reject fear as a way of making policies in public health. That’s been, unfortunately, a centerpiece of health policy in the US ever since the beginning of the pandemic. And it’s over here, expiration date, it’s done.”
Whooo-hooo! Yes! Finally, someone in state government is talking about the pandemic of fear.
“Florida will completely reject fear. It doesn’t lead to good decisions.”
Yes! He gets it.
“Part of why [fear] is an issue is…the climate of distrust that has been engendered over the past year and a half, and that was the direct result of scientists…taking the science and basically misrepresenting it to fit their agendas.”
Finally! A “no fear” policy maker!
“The state should be promoting good health, and vaccination isn’t the only path to that. It’s been treated almost like a religion…”
Ya think? And, we don’t need any new religions, do we?
The assistant director of Norway’s CDC (the NIPH), Geir Bukholm, said the coronavirus can now be put in the same category as illnesses such as flu, common colds and RS (respiratory syncytial virus). “We are now in a new phase where we must look at the coronavirus as one of several respiratory diseases with seasonal variation,” Bukholm said. So. He said it, not me. I’m just a lawyer.
Dr. Stella has been saying for a long time that this virus is now endemic, not pandemic.
The Sheriffs are starting to come out against Biden’s currently-invisible vaccine mandate. Cleburne County, Arkansas Sheriff Chris Brown is one of two sheriffs in Arkansas who are now declaring that they will NOT comply with Biden’s federal vaccine mandate, calling it “dictator-like” and brazenly unconstitutional. [Insert long list of like minded LEOs here.]
Edicts are only effective if they are enforced. I don’t care if it an edict to eat chocolate every day. I’m proud of these guys, refusing to be the enforcement arm of fascism.
According to a source who was present at the time, after our widely-watched and widely-reported anti-vaccine-mandate hearing in Circuit Court on Monday, Orange County’s attorneys said they would take termination “off the table” — a retreat from that county’s previous “vaccinate or terminate” position. A different source told me that the City of Clearwater also said yesterday that they were no longer considering a “vaccinate or terminate” policy for their employees. So. Progress.
If you didn’t read yesterday’s C&C, it was Childers’ closing argument against a similar “jab or job” mandate lawsuit in Gainesville. I’m no lawyer, but I thought his points were accurate.
For all you ivermectin and “right-to-try” fans, you’ll REALLY enjoy the public comment section from the Polk County Commission meeting yesterday. Check it out here: [BoCC Regular Meeting & Public Hearing: September 21, 2021].
I’ll have to check those out.

Spent most of the day today preparing the interior wall in the store room to receive 2 sets of 2 wall outlets. finally found a stud finder that actually worked, got out my multi-tool device, measured the receiver box and drew it out on the wall, and went to cutting. The wall has wood paneling so I was unsure if the stud finder would work, but it did. I cut the wood panel and then there was dry wall behind that to be cut, but the stud finder was right on target so the receiver boxes can be screwed directly into the stud and still have the box fit perfectly. So, each of those interior holes has been cut.
I found something like an RV connector with male ends to attach the cord from the generator, and those will be my exterior connectors. There is of course a brick wall on the exterior, and the RV connectors are about 3″ deep – and then the wires connect directly behind there, so I need at least 4″ behind the connector. I considered all sorts of boxes and assorted contraptions to try to find a way to put the 2 connectors in such a manner that I would only have to drill one hole through the brick for the wires. If I had 2 of these same inverter generators, I could connect them with proper cables and run one single 30 amp circuit – this was recommended for people who had one or two high drain needs like an AC or electric stove. Since I don’t envision any needs like that, I decided to stick with my two separate circuits, with each circuit for one generator each. In other words, no need to get entangled in that parallel stuff right now. If in the future someone decides to put in a larger generator or wants a 30 amp circuit, all they have to do is pull the connector that I’m installing and replace it with a 30 amp twist type connector. The interior wiring is heavy duty romex, but the receptacles that I installed inside are rated 125v at 15 amps. They could easily be tied together too if someone wanted to do that, but I’m sticking with the two independent separate circuits. KISS program.
So what this means is that I’m going to have to cut 2 2″ holes in my brick. So I ordered a masonry saw from Amazon which seems to be more or less disposable which I hope will work OK. So I’ll mount the connectors on a 1X4, with 2″ holes aligned with the holes that I’ll be cutting in the brick, attach the 1X4 to the brick wall, and run the wires over to the interior plugs. Like most of my projects, someone who knows what they are doing could probably knock this out in about an hour, but it will take me all week. I’ll remember to get it all properly waterproofed and sealed up before I’m done too. And then those beautiful unused power outlets will will be sitting there in the store room, and I can sit back and watch how many people come by and plug something in and then wonder why it won’t work. Since this is a home brew, I feel much better about just bypassing the house wiring all together.
And, the likelihood of anyone ever using this set up is probably remote, but on the other hand, if we have another freeze out which is entirely possible, I should at least be able to have internet and some coffee. -
I had to run to the bank today – we had a late rent payment. I stopped at Wal-Mart (where I was to pick up the rent money via their store-to-store money transfer) and checked with the pharmacy to see if they could fill my ivermectin prescription this time. Last time, they were short and refused to fill it. (The doctor said he gave me 11 months’ worth of pills.)
The pharmacist said they were not allowed to fill this large a prescription. “They really frown on us filling this large a prescription,” she said. “Even if I just take a month now and only pick up a few months at a time?” I asked. She said, no, it was the fact that the prescription was so large. Period.
So, I went and ran my bank errand and then remembered there was a Kroger across the street. What the heck, I thought. That pharmacist was EXTREMELY friendly and helpful. Not only had they just gotten an order in, she had no attitude at all about the content of the prescription (as Hubby had gotten at one place), and after inputting my insurance into the computer, she gave me a price of $170+change. I asked her to check the GoodRx card I had, and it came back $218. That floored me, because when I checked online, Kroger was the cheapest place to get it using the card. The pharmacist explained that the online (cell phone) version of the GoodRx card was often lower, or at least different, than the printed card. She looked it up on her phone, and input the code.
I walked out paying $72.
I may have found a new pharmacy.
-
PS: I was so happy, I bought myself some flowers to celebrate.
-
I just looked – it’s only 3 months’ worth. Hmmm…I guess I didn’t hear the doc correctly. I’ll start looking online again.
-
I finally found the refill note on the prescription: 4 refills.
Tiny widdle print in a place I didn’t expect to see it.
So, $72, 4 more times. I can do that.
-
Wait, wimmins can buy themselves flowers….and be happy about it??
Well it works with beer for guys, so I guess I get it.

I thought you only took it when you were starting to have symptoms.

I thought you only took it when you were starting to have symptoms.
Because of my family’s diabetic history, and me being prediabetic (though under control and blood sugar normal), he wanted me to take it prophylactically. Since it’s good for viruses in general, though, and I really want the natural immunity, I may wait and see if I get sick and then take the larger, treatment dose.
I have the dosage schedule for that as well. And if I have pills left over, I’ll save ’em for if/when I catch the flu or the next plandemic virus.
-
I just remembered – O’Keefe is coming out with Part II of his WLR expose…
-
I’d be worried about long term issues with taking it as a prophylaxis. Seems like it would wreak havoc on your gut flora, which is very important for your immune system health.
-
Good glorious evening, Hamsters
Now this is how late September ought to be, cool and lower humidity more often than hot and sticky-drippy. Would have been a nice evening for a walk around the neighborhood at last, but spouse has his live ham radio group gab fest every Wednesday evening at 7. How long it lasts depends on how many log on and how interesting the topics are.
Spouse made reservations for us to get the current corona virus shot tomorrow afternoon at Methodist Hospital Sugarland. The regular seasonal flu shot can wait a week, as it is not advisable to do both at once according to our internest doc. Sensible advice should any side effects show up, and you couldn’t tell which vaccine was the culprit.
-
56 Hamous & 48 Tedtam
I’d be worried about long term issues with taking it as a prophylaxis.
I definitely agree with that. Your gut flora is really critical to your immune levels.
(The doctor said he gave me 11 months’ worth of pills.)
??!!
I haven’t seen a doctor give a prescription for longer than 90 days in a long time. Usually, it’s because they want to protect themselves in case there are serious changes in the patient’s health and the drug might not be appropriate or even harmful at some point. If you are a Medicare or Medicaid patient there’s no way you’ll get anything past 90 days.
-
TT: I agree on all points with Hammie on #56. Take the zinc and quercetin as prophylaxis and if you get the WLR take the ivermectin to treat.
-
Many people who have overused or abused antibiotics have wrecked their gut flora and ruined their immunities.
-
TT: I agree on all points with Hammie on #56. Take the zinc and quercetin as prophylaxis and if you get the WLR take the ivermectin to treat.
Yeah, I think that’s what I’m going to do. I’ll get the refills in case I need them later on. I wouldn’t put it past this gov’t to restrict the purchase of an effective medication.
I already take cal-mag-zinc as part of my diet, since without those elements I can get leg cramps (common on keto). I started quercetin last week. I picked up lysine today.
Any ‘rona that comes near me is flirting with death. It’s own.
But hopefully not before it triggers my t-cell response.

Bishop Strickland (one of the good ones) says we need to speak out against vaccine tyranny.
In the latest episode of The Bishop Strickland Show, Bishop Joseph Strickland once more called out forced COVID-19 vaccinations, describing how governments, Christian leaders, and others that are pushing the mandates are promoting a tyrannical agenda. He also detailed what the Catholic Church’s official teaching is on the vaccine or other mandates of any kind.
Video follows.

Sun is setting out here in centex this evening, and it’s been a very nice warm day. We are dry again and could certainly use some rain, but this has been an unusually mild and wet summer for us, so for that I’m grateful. As I’ve often said, this would not be a bad place to live if the weather was like this every year.
No Crispytoo sightings today, but I set a little cat food outside. Nobody found it last night, or if they did, they didn’t eat it all – which means it was more likely a cat than a coon, possum, or skunk because they always knock the dish over or try to steal it.
Don’t know anything else for now. You all have a good one, and more later here before bed time.

So you’re taking the third shot?? -
I’m reading some “Karma Karen” stories. This one made me LOL:
My grandmother has Alzheimer’s so she often doesn’t know where she is or who is with her. I know for a fact that she has no idea who I am, therefore I make an effort to call her ”Grandma” multiple times in any sitting or activity we participate in. Recently, I noticed she needed her hair and nails done as the color in both those areas was fading or chipped. So I made an appointment with a family member who owns a beauty salon and took her there. Normally, customers or those waiting for someone sit in the front area and rarely accompany a person they came with inside the actual salon floor. So, I understand why assumptions were made, but still, don’t mess with my grandmother.
I was on the salon floor with my grandmother, sitting in a seat in front of her, while my cousin colored her hair. I was there to make sure to keep her calm and engaged while her hair and nails were being done. She was telling me the same story she had told me 10 times in the last ten minutes, bless her heart, when I felt someone behind me. Now we were in the farthest corner of the room, not near a bathroom or wash station, so there was really no reason someone should be behind me. My grandmother stops talking and looks behind me.
Grandma, chipper as ever, “Hi! Are you another grandchild?”
Karen, “No I am not! And why are you not working? There is a line over there!”
Me, upon realizing she is talking to me say over my shoulder: “I don’t work here.”
Karen: “Now I can believe that! You are on the floor which means you work here.”
She’s talking to me condescendingly and I do not take that sort of tone well. Neither does my grandmother. In a moment of clarity, I watch that bright chipper smile fall and a glimpse of my Brainiac grandmother peak through. I shoot a warning glance at my cousin who is pursing her lips to keep from laughing prematurely.
Grandma: “Well, by your own logic my dear, you must be a worker. Go get me a new coke, would you? That’s a good honey bunch.”
Karen starts sputtering and my grandma laughs, the chipper look returns to her face and she says “Hi, are you one of my grandchildren?”
As Karen stomps off in her loud high heels, my grandma turns and says, loudly, “I guess not. My grandchildren are not b*tches. “
Oh my gerd I love my grandma. I don’t know where Karen went, I wasn’t really paying attention after that.
-
Well there is a touch of fall in the air, the local weather guesser says we may have 54 in the morning. This morning I was out on the right of way trying to clean up the damn mess the county made with their tree eater, using my new wood chipper and chain saw and about noon it clouded up, the wind shifted and we had a few drops of light rain. SO I put the tractor up and went back to get the mule and by the time I got everything squared away the sun came out and it was fair the rest of the day. I wound up working the trails with the Mule and a couple of chain saws before the wife got back from her bathroom Vanity purchasing project. BTW; Big Mike was supposed to start the bathroom demolition on Monday but he hasn’t made it yet. He is real busy but I wish he’d let me know if he just can’t make it. Such is life in south Alabama, Mike is one of a few guys I can depend on to do anything. That said, once he starts he is usually like a house afire.

I got a text from the boy and he is at the Trump National Club in Rancho Palos Verdes. It is amazingly close to Long Beach. I’d have guessed that it was up toward Malibu but what do I know.

I wondered if my PCP would say something about the Pfizer Booster/#3 when I was there on Monday. Nothing about Covid came up. Her building is adjacent to Memorial Herman NW now Greater Heights, and it is mask required, but nothing more extreme.
Speaking of shots, the Fall 2021 Flu shot I got there that day really did a number on my upper left arm. Normal for me is a bit of soreness same day and maybe even overnight. But this shot had the area so painful that I couldn’t sleep rolled to that side, as per my preference. Painful, large red area, and actually hot to the touch. It’s still a bit tender but nearly back to normal now, over 48 hours later. Not normal in my experience.

#47 Who knew that El Gordo was really from south Alabama? That sounds way too much like a “Dave” project. 😀

I don’t know why anyone would take a COVID booster shot when 16 of 19 members of the FDA approval committee voted against it. I wasn’t going to take it anyway without a lot more information.
-
We’re not taking any of the shots since at 67 I have A 99.9% chance of surviving the Wong Kong Flu and the wife is only a few months younger. That said; I’m pretty sure I had it in February of 2020 but my wife hasn’t had it and has no plans to get the vaccine.

Texpat
Today the FDA authorized booster shots for people above the age of 65 or those who are at high risk.
I think the 16 to 19 vote was on Gropey’s plan to require almost everyone to get the booster.
I have no plans to take the booster.

I have an acquaintance from Germany who doesn’t believe in the jab. She got it, though, because her mother died and the only way she can see her family and pay her respects is to get jabbed, because…flying.

#64 Shannon,
Spouse saw our internist today and asked about the booster shot. Our first dose was early in the third week of January, and the second was late in the first week of February. Doc advised getting the booster in late September or early October. The issue is the medical folk don’t know how long the optimum initial dosage lasts before it starts declining in effectiveness since it has not been available very long and has only incomplete history as a guide. The initial booster suggestion was for 8 months after the second dose. All the good docs are being very cautious with the timing for the booster.

Sounds like a challenge to me.
Ready when you are.
See if you can find glass syringes they’re heavier and will go farther. -

Heh.
Don’t trust em was a reference to the Deep State government and anything they say about the shots not shot putting syringes.
But hey the latter could be fun.:)

Abbott adds two more items to the Special Session.
Child Transgender Mutilation is not one of them.
Again.
-
Why didn’t they deal with those issues during the regular session like they are supposed to? Answer – because a bunch of them ran away. No good every comes from a legislative body being in session, and I for one fear special sessions as much as I fear the regular session. So shut them all down. Those girls’ daddies should put a stop to that mutilation business – we can’t legislate every little thing. We the people know what needs to be done, and left to our own devices, it will get done. Counting on government or a politician to do something is a complete waste of time and effort.
BTW, it’s bedtime, so nite all. Have a good one.

Abbott is taking a shellacking over agreeing to include the No Dogs Chained issue this go-round, but passing again on CTM, as Shannon puts it.

I couldn’t disagree more.
Child Transgender Mutilation is being performed legally on boys and girls by licensed Texas physicians – with and without “Daddies” consent.

We will be going to Madison in October to visit kin, so that involves flying from Houston to O’Hare in Chicago and walking all the way across the airport to the area that has regional airlines going to Madison. Presuming our flight arrives on time, we only have an hour to get to the gate going to Madison. O’Hare is a huge and very spread out, busy airport, and the walk from one side to the other consumes at least 45 minutes at a brisk pace.

I’m curious, does anyone else around here think it’s okay to cut off little Johnny’s penis and testicles because Mommy and Daddy and their shrink think he’s a girl in a boy’s body?
