Morning gang. Early to bed, early to rise. Today is a travel day to Big D, so it’ll be afternoon before I’m reporting back in. BFF is a big baseball fan, so we will be watching the World Series. She also likes to enjoy Ball Park chili cheese dogs, and as much as I would like to stuff my face… Read more »

Honest to God, this country has lost it’s ever-lovin’ mind.

Election 2020

Freedom vs Tyranny
Order vs Chaos
Building vs Destroying
Good vs Evil
Life vs Death.

Vote Harris-Groper Joe if want tyranny, chaos, destruction, evil and death.

Well it looks like y’all had a lot of fun in my absence, sorry that I didn’t have time to chime in but what a day and we had a fine visit with sister and she consumed all of her 1 Lb+ T-Bone. See Y’all in the morning,…..and YES! It is past my bedtime. 😉

OK, the keyboard is back in service. I think it just had a little bubble in the plastic circuit board looking thingy and was not making contact with one letter. The keyboard has a Lenovo sticker right in the center on the back of the keyboard with all the spec and stuff on it, and sure enough, when I removed… Read more »

I got the clear impression that my stepdaughter was wondering why I hadn’t responded to her last four texts when she said, “At least say hello sometimes.”

My response:

“Sorry.
We’ve been kidnapped by aliens.
Keep you posted.”

Hey, out here where we have no terrestrial TV and very limited, static charged radio, you gotta do red neck engineering to get any kind of news from the outside world. Now surely one could take those Bose speaker wires and cut off any type of proprietary plug in and make it work on just about anything. As to sound… Read more »

Well, if you arrive early on the pretense of helping the cookers, you discover that there is plenty of beer available, over there in those coolers in the trees. Sounds like the KC’s. At the turkey fries on thanksgiving, they’re out there at some ungodly hour getting everything ready. Once they get all the fryers heating up, you’ll hear the… Read more »

What kind of broke-down fake Oktoberfest do Lutherans run? How can you have an Oktoberfest without (lots of) beer? Well, if you arrive early on the pretense of helping the cookers, you discover that there is plenty of beer available, over there in those coolers in the trees. It just isn’t served to the paying public. We’re poor Lutherans, not… Read more »

Well I used to be all in on home theater systems but twice it went out of date and I had to upgrade. No way to run wires to rear speakers in this home on wheels and WiFi meant keeping them charged so I went with a nice sound bar with a subwoofer and I love it. Only the audiophiles… Read more »

You can’t weigh them before you whack them? It may be warmer then I hope. You are aware that it’ll be November then? Weather can change here pretty dramatically. It can be -35 on Monday and +40 on Tuesday. Half of them looked ready but when they were processed they were a disappointment.  We have a system and each  person… Read more »

The Police in Hearne are very polite. Even if they DO park right after the sign that says the speed limit is 55 after its been 70 for the last 22 miles. Approaching Brenham from Bellville is a similar situation. You top a hill and it drops from 70 to 55. There is just enough time to slow down but… Read more »

Just got an update/count on the yesterday’s Trump Car Rally and Parade in Bellville.

75 vehicles
13 motorcycles

That’s more than the typical Austin County Fair Parade.

I’ve always wanted to attend theirs (but never got around to it). Because they serve beer at theirs.

139. The problem is the Bose speakers have a non-standard connection to the receiver. I don’t think I could find a receiver/amp I could connect to. There are five speakers that all plug into the bass module, then one cable that plugs into the receiver.

#138 – Those Bose speakers will be just fine. Hang on to them and toss all that other crap away and get some new. All the electronic wizardry in the world won’t do any good without good speakers, and Bose is still the top of the line.

I have a Bose system that’s probably 20 years old. The remote is broken and it doesn’t have the modern connections. I would like to get a new stereo system. I used to keep up with that technology but no longer have a clue. Guess I’ll need to educate myself.

Well that is strange! Lil Sister texted the wife and asked if she wanted company this afternoon, so we told her to come on over and if she stayed for supper it would be T-Bones, taters N salad. She liked that idea so I ran to the store to get another T-Bone and she arrived about 4 PM. First time… Read more »

#123 – Ask around on this topic. And do some research. I’ve got several tips of do’s and don’t do’s. Don’t buy one of those soundbars or one of the “theater in a box” systems. They do not have the sound enhancement and power output that you most likely would want, although admittedly just about anything is better than the… Read more »

I don’t usually have a Twitter link problem, but I just can’t get Hammie’s 94 to connect.

It glitched on me too, making me think it was so HOT that it had been removed. But I tried again and it went right through. MUST SEE! Maybe it glitches because half the USA is recommending it and/or clicking on it.

I wouldn’t know how to buy a smart TV. Some have pre-settings (or whatever you call it) for various streaming services. Are all smart TVs capable of doing everything and some aren’t? I don’t have a clue. It doesn’t really matter because I use an antenna on a tall pole. Hell, I lost my broadband service due to a change… Read more »

Spent one hour on my long driveway with the blower. Sacked up quite a lot of tree debris, most puzzling of which were gazillions of small red spheres, like tiny dried berries, don’t recall ever noticing that before. I need to take a handful of those over to the 80-y.o. neighbor and ask if he knows what it is. Or… Read more »
