I am of the opinion that Tucker reads both Hamous and Ace.
May the 4th be with me.

As usual Tammy Bruce tells it like it is;
Dems make fools of themselves at Barrett confirmation hearing.
While the Democrats were dancing on the head of a pin this time around because of the backlash to the questioning of Judge Barrett’s faith, Ms. Feinstein, in a generally confused interrogatory about abortion and gun control, still did her best to get the nominee to issue her personal opinions. Judge Barrett refused to take the bait.
“Barrett repeated to senators that she had no political agenda, and frequently cited her current role as a judge on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals when asked about her views on specific issues. ‘If I give off-the-cuff answers, then I would basically be a legal pundit,’ the 48-year-old nominee said [responding to Ms. Feinstein]. ‘I don’t think we want judges to be legal pundits. I think we want judges to approach cases thoughtfully with an open mind,’” reported Politico about the exchange.
Ms. Feinstein’s response? “Okay, let me try something else …” revealing the agenda as not to assess the character of the nominee, but to trip her up or to embarrass her. During their exchange, I half expected Ms. Feinstein to challenge Judge Barrett to pull her finger.

I posted an OC at the exact time as Texpat, of course. No problem. Friday is covered now.

I bought a real seed mill last week and it was delivered yesterday, much to my delight. That delight soon evaporated as I unpacked and actually read the manual. To my chagrin, in the do not mill section, it listed rolled oats, flax seeds, and chia seeds among other things. Those 3 are represent about 80% of my bread. THis warning was not listed in the product description where I bought the machine. This irritates me greatly, and I am not going to pay return shipping because had they only informed me of this critical weakness in their advertising, I would have never bought the product.

Well it is with the utmost sadness that I have to report that my Redneck Engineering Satellite installation is no more, didn’t make it 24 hours. The Dish guy came by around noon and reinstalled it. Not even no Christmas lights but none in July,…August,…
Oh and the Dish Guy couldn’t believe that I had it working strapped to the ladder. -
I wonder if the Two Sad Blisters on PMSNBC got the memo? They were sadly reporting that the polls are closing and they lamented the fact that something was happening under the radar that most people knew nothing about and that would be that Trump is signing up record numbers of voters that have never voted before. 😉
-
So Bones, is the stuff that you want to grind up too hard or coarse to get through the mill? I can’t imagine a product designed to grind up seed/flax that wouldn’t do it all. In any case if it’s that wimpy it wouldn’t have lasted two foggy mornings anyway.

Dang, I’m burning daylight I was supposed to already be on the big Hustler mowing the right of ways. Later

#8 SD: Perhaps they were worrying about clogging or something, perhaps the oil content of flax and chia seeds? Anyway, right now I am using a clamp on unit that mates up to my Braun stand mixer and I have to run the seeds then flour mix through twice which is a monumental pain. The first run is a breeze, no problemo, HOWEVER, even at the finest setting, the first grind does not get the flour fine enough. The pain comes when I grind the flour for the final product: the angle of repose of that coarse flour is so great that it won’t feed into the auger easily so I have to constantly stand over the machine and poke it through. Grinding a batch takes almost an hour and I am getting irritated with the hassle factor. This is why I want a real seed mill and one that can handle what I am going to feed it.

Giulani’s on Newsmax…he’s going to give this Ukraine/Biden corruption story the O’Keefe treatment…a little more each day. This keeps the media from denying the whole story the one time it comes out. He’s letting them (the media) hang themselves a little at a time.

On a happier note, LD posted video Over Yonder of Sunshine riding her bicycle without training wheels for the first time. Just love that big grin on her face.
I miss being Mom. Those moments are so special. I think being “Mommy” was the very, very best time/thing in my life.

“2020 is a political revolution,” said Kristopher Jacks, Weld County chair of the Our Revolution, a radical leftist organization spun out of Sen. Bernie Sanders’s 2016 presidential campaign. A Bernie button topped the man’s sash of leftist pins. “I am going to do everything morally acceptable to win. I will lie. I will cheat. I will steal. Because that’s morally acceptable in this political environment.”
Jacks functions as a “trainer, mentor and on-the-ground quarterback at Our Revolution protests,” Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe explained in a report. “Jacks represents the radical wing of the Democratic Party in Colorado—he is someone most Americans should be afraid of,” O’Keefe stated.

Church Friend’s father passed away just before 2:30 this morning. CF was the Confirmation II team leader for years, and has been active in our parish for a long time. I’m wondering what the funeral service is going to look like.
I’m glad his father’s suffering is over. Now, they need to take care of their mom. I’m sure she’s going to have a lot of adjustment ahead of her.

I keep warning people about those women with crazy eyes.
Maria “Maureen” Athens is the Alaska-based news anchor who was arrested in relation to a sexting scandal involving the mayor of Anchorage, Ethan Berkowitz. On October 12, Berkowitz, 58, said in a statement that he engaged in an “inappropriate messaging relationship” with Athens, 41.
Berkowitz, a Democrat, was elected to his second and final term as Anchorage mayor in 2018. Since 2000, Berkowitz has been married to his wife, Dr. Mara Kimmel. The couple has two children together.

Things are looking up for Kyle Rittenhouse. Illionis has determined that he was never in posession of the weapon inside the borders of that State and therefore he did not take it to Wisconsin.
And the cops have identified, arrested, and charged the guy who fired the first shot.
I found this interesting:
The detectives eventually were able to schedule an interview with the couple. Both admitted to them that Ziminski had fired a ‘warning shot’ into the air on the night of Aug. 25, according to the complaint.
The couple further stated that the firearm Ziminski used that night had since been stolen from their residence, several days before the interview with detectives.
Not as creative as the tragic boat accident that claimed by personal protection devices—–

Paul Mirengoff pays tribute to the late Joe Morgan. I have lots of memories as a kid watching Joe Morgan play back when my father had Astros season tickets. Harry Walker was manager of the Astros and didn’t like Joe Morgan and decided to trade him. That was among the long list of monumentally stupid moves made by Houston over the years.
But the true test of a player isn’t how many games his team wins, it’s how many wins the player causes his team to win. The Cincinnati Reds of 1975-76 are among the greatest teams ever to grace the sport of baseball. Their lineup contained three future Hall of Famers (Morgan, Johnny Bench, and Tony Perez) plus Pete Rose who would have made the Hall easily had he not bet on baseball.
Morgan’s WAR (the number of wins he is estimated to have contributed compared to a hypothetical replacement player) for the two seasons combined was 20.6. That’s almost equal to the combined WAR in those two years of Bench (11.2) and Rose (11.1), who were second and third to Morgan.
I didn’t know Joe Morgan was born in Bonham, Texas.

SD and I were up early this morning sharing words of wisdom, but this particular piece that I wrote is the most important one, so I’m bringing it forward for those of you who haven’t yet figured out that to be a complete consumer of this blog, you must open up by reading the last of the prior day’s comments. Anyway, here it is:
BTW, just because you don’t get up early like SD and I doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t vote early. Find a convenient voting location, it doesn’t have to be your own precinct like on election day, take your DL and your registration card, and go vote. It won’t get any easier later on than it is right now, and this is the only shot you will have to determine the direction your very own government goes. It not just abortion and guns, it’s down to allowing criminals to rule your streets, legalized theft, rioting, and looting, and other things that affect your daily life. Just because some deprived kid thinks he should take your car away from you and drive it around until he wrecks it doesn’t make it right. So vote now to be sure it gets in the hopper. -
Here’s another one. Is there a single Dem on the Judicial Committee that is not despicable?

Ask a silly question…
Of course, you could modify it to read thusly, and get the same answer:
Is there a single Demon the Judicial Committeethat is not despicable? -

Looks impressive, but note that the expanded description seems to be computer translated from Chinese.
If not, it was written by a technical writer educated in American public schools.
-
#26 Shannon: It may very well be a Chinese product. If I could find a seed mill that will handle rolled oats, chia, flax, quinoa, and sprouted dried brown rice at a reasonable price, would buy it. I need a very fine grind to make the bread. Any ideas?
-
You would think the judicial committee would have the brightest minds on it. They got the Star Wars bar room characters on it. BTW, has SJL been behaving or is she just being upstaged?

I need a very fine grind to make the bread. Any ideas?
Not really.
I’ve been a butcher, but not a baker.
Nor a candlestick maker.

SJL is over in the House.
Mercifully.

At this stage of the game, I don’t believe it is possible to reform the FBI or the CIA.
HEADLINE: Did the FBI Sit on a Computer Containing Evidence of Hunter Sex Tape and Biden Burisma Corruption?
THe answer to the headline question is yes. This is THE definition of “smoking gun” evidence and the FBI sat on it since December. This is intolerable, heads must roll! The FBI had an open/shut case of corruption and bribery by the vice president of the USA while in office and did nothing about it except hide it. All those involved must go to prison at a minimum.
More and more people are beginning to see just how corrupted our central government has become – this won’t get any better without some bloodletting. WHEN Trump is re-elected, please G-D, he better get real serious and real nasty about draining the swamp! This garbage gets cleaned up or we are finished as a nation and the blood will run in the streets up to a horse’s bridle. -
Bones
Even if Chinese made, it could be a great machine. It might even be from South Korea.
Way back when we were building industrial fans, we used South Korean-made electric motors. They were super high quality and much cheaper than American alternatives. Though they weighed a ton with their cast iron housings.

SJL is quietly celebrating her promotion to the second dumbest person in congress. Only 533 to go!

I read somewhere that flaxseed was not healthy for men. As I recall, it had a similar effect as soy products by raising estrogen levels, even leading to moobs.
-
#34, if you could provide some linkage, that would be wonderful. The flax contributes to both flavor and fiber, aka roughage. It helps keep the pipes clean.

Hi, Thursday morning 42, where ya headed?

That ‘rona sure attacked at an opportune time for the Biden-Harris, or Harris, campaign. She’s off the campaign trail because two of her staff have tested positive.
It also means she/he/they get to duck questions about the Ukrainian cesspool of corruption story.

#37 Based on my quick read of the link, it appears that flax seeds are, at worst, neutral – perhaps even beneficial.

I checked all the major Goebbels media outlets this morning. ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC, and NPR. None of them had any coverage of the Biden corruption scandal. NPR had one story about Facebook and Twitter blocking the story. That’s it.

I just checked in with my Very Liberal But Much Beloved East Texas Aunt – and she responded: ‘FAKE NEWS! Even Fox says it’s a no starter!’I responded that I didn’t trust Fox much any more. Then she started going off about “How is Trump going to pay back the $423 million he owes Russia and…”
I just told her I loved her and left the conversation.
I don’t want to be responsible for her heart attack.

Senate Republicans vow to subpoena Twitter & Facebook over blocked Biden story
I’ll believe this when I see it. Why don’t they also subpoena the FBI that withheld this exculpatory evidence in the Meuller shampeachment fiasco?

#49 Pyro: Lots of work and too danged expen$ive.

Well thankfully the judicial hearings are over. The politician are all congratulating each other for behaving. The Dems seem to be conceding defeat, which I find more scary than usual. The hearings are officially “closed” so look for demands to re-open them to address some important document dredged up from a high school boyfriend or something. Something seems amiss to me – it’s never this easy.
I’ve just about got my chores done for the past couple of days. Seems that all this stuff just hit at once, but everything that is now pending is awaiting final receipt from who ever it was demanding stuff – new registration sticker on the way, etc. I did get out this morning and grub some bee brush, fill the bird feeder, fill the water troughs, and so forth, so the animals should be happy.
Next week is a travel week for the World Series. Due to diet restrictions, I’m going to have to skip the chili cheese dogs and chips, so I’m developing my own menu and will probably shop for my own food once I get to Big D. It’s pretty windy outside, and I think I heard somewhere that there was a cold front on the way.
I’m planning a door replacement project sometime in the fairly new future. I’ll probably replace frames and all, so that’s going to take some planning for budget planning as well as weather conditions. I’d like to attempt something like that myself, but I’m afraid that I’ve slowed down enough to make that project out of reach for my weakened body these days.
OK, that’s the update for now. Hopefully, nap soon. More later.

Don’t worry, Mazie. Hunter will never hold an elected office. Your dunce cap is safe.

When you get away with crap, so much, for so long, you start thinking you are invulnerable, and get careless.
That, or the crack got ‘hold of him and made him stoopid.

I doubt he dropped them off. People with as much money as the Biden’s have after 47 years of crony capitalism have people for those kinds of menial tasks.

First they are finishing up the deck on the back of the house, probably be done before COB tomorrow. It’s looking real good and the work kinda’ slowed done when they put the siding/soffit/fascia on starting on Wednesday, Mike the Straw Boss is very meticulous and has to have everything just right. He even added a step on the back side originally the deck was going to be about 8″ off the ground but they made it 14′ so it would be just an inch below the back door and a step wasn’t mandatory but was a nice touch. It’s about 5′ wide and NOT Farking Handrails! He asked me if I wanted rails and I said no if I can get away with that. When we insured the old Farmhouse the last time we HAD TO ADD handrails to the back porch?!?! Really! My 87 YO grandmother hobbled down an ancient set of rickety steps every day and didn’t fall because she wasn’t STUPID!!
-
Oh I didn’t finish my # 67 I mowed for a little over 4 hours and didn’t cut the yard here or at the Farmhouse but I got all the right of ways and the barn done. I spent a lintel too much time down at the corner cleaning up the ditch and under the power line. Since the may be the last big cut I wanted it to look good. It was exciting at times, diving straight down a bank that might have been 65-70 degrees, once you start down you’re committed and on the steepest banks the big Hustler would yaw sideways a little then it was power on and haul AZZ down to the bottom……But I twren’t Kilt so all is good. It is more fun and easier with the Tractor but it doesn’t cut as close and it tears up the bank something fierce.

Well, I got a pleasant phone call from the tenant we are evicting. He’s always been nice to me, and I’ve reciprocated. We had a few words when I gave him his eviction notice, understandably, but later contact was kept professional and courteous. These are the ones whose fighting lost us another tenant. As I see it, there’s no need to wiss them off if it’s not necessary. It’s not who I am, and it tends to avoid additional problems. They are already moving, and yes, we’d lose money either way, so just be nice.
Anyway, he called me to let me know that they’d be out by Saturday morning, as he wants to clean up a bit before on Friday before he finishes up. I didn’t expect that. Then he chuckled a bit and said that we’d be getting an additional patio area that he put in, and “It’s all painted up, maybe you could rent it for a little more.” That was nice, too. If I’d fought him and made our relationship antagonistic, he could’ve put holes in the wall and ripped up the addition he put in. Instead, he was exceedingly nice to me. I wished him well in his new place, very sincerely, and thanked me and wished me the same.
I wish all evictions were so pleasant. A little respect goes a long way

Amicable break ups are the best. So I’ve heard….

The Trump vs. Media show is on. This hostess of the town hall is coming out with every anti-Trump talking point evvverrrrr.
He’s ripping this lady a new one. On national TV.
It’s a beautiful thing to watch.

Zuckercrook was all to eager to work with the CCP to censor BookedFace’s platform in China.
So when it comes to the little girl sniffer & son’s Burisma scandal he just did what comes natural to a totalitarian like himself.
-
Zuck and company need a serious and painful attitude adjustment.
-
Finished the Trump battlefield viewing – that Savannah lady was flat out antagonistic. I’ve flipped over to see if Biden can hold it together. This feels like a tea party. Steponallofus is being so quiet, so gentle, that I expect him to tuck Biden into bed tonight.
Oh, goodness, Biden’s trotting out his dead son again.
-
I watched Trump for about ten minutes. He looks fine and did great.
I watched Biden for about five. Surprisingly coherent.
For Joe Biden.Nov can’t get here fast enough for me.
-
I watched the Trump show on NBC, and that woman has to have one of the world’s most irritating screeching voices in the world. She was about as you would expect from NBC, and I truly think Trump wanted something like that just to blow off a little steam. He has never held back on NBC being the worst of a bad media, and I’m pretty sure the Megan Kelly wannabe thought she would have her chance to be the one to take the mighty Trump down, but alas, she fell well short, as have all the others. I didn’t know her name but I read that she is on the morning NBC show, so I know now to never accidentally stray over there. As someone said, it was just like watching the View.
I actually think they fell into Trump’s trap a little bit. Each time they asked what was supposed to be a question critical of his performance, he unloaded on them with everything that he has done in that area of endeavor. Overall, I give the win to Trump bigly.
Who cares about what Bidet might have said. The real true measure is going to be seeing which network scored that highest viewer ratings. That should be about as good a look at a real poll as you will find anywhere.
More later.
-
Ratings…I don’t know. I tuned in to see if Biter was going to fall apart or not, not because I supported or even wanted to hear his policies.
He does look soooooooooo tired, though, compared to Trump.

Oh, tomorrow is the official 2 week weigh in on the diet progress. I’m logging weight twice daily, once in the morning and once in the evening. Then I added a second set of scales which seem to me to be a little more sensitive and accurate, but the weights shown vary a little over a pound or so between the two scales. I started with the old scales, so they are still designated as the “official” weight for comparative purposes, but the newer set sits a little closer to the floor and has a wider platform so I don’t wobble around so much on them. I’ll probably take the old ones on my trip to Big D next week to keep the chart up to date.
Interesting, the weights differ from morning to evening, but the comparative difference (weight loss) day to day is plus or minus less that 1/2 pound difference. So I take that to mean that the actual loss, which is the key number in this whole exercise, is probably a pretty accurate number. Place your bets tonight, because the weigh in occurs pretty early. Two week, 14 days (not including the first 3 or 4 days which I discount for just water and gas loss). Will it be more that 2 pounds per week, or 4 or 5 pounds total. Or could it be even more. Possibly less???? Tip: I have religiously and diligently stuck to my program – no slips, no cheats, no nibbles or samples. Neither am I dehydrating or purging or any of that other unhealthy stuff. So whatever the number is, it’s a real number reflecting real fat burned up and peed away. I guess the reasonable way to measure would just be a simple over/under. OK, if I set the over/under number at 5 pounds, it might be too easy, so I’ll set it at 6 pounds. That should be a fair number for a fair bet. More later.

Pretty good shower here in the Barrio.
-
We’ve been having a quiet shower at Chez Harp for the last 2 hours. I always put the night food and their water tub under the breezeway. Had 8 adult raccoons, 2 possums, and little Wags who is still small but looking very suave. His fur is now completely normal in appearance.
Inside, all the cats are doing well. This includes my 17-y.o. that I thought would not make it to year’s end. I have found a few cat foods that she really likes, and I will give her a small helping anytime she comes to me and lets me know. She doesn’t have to wait for the next meal to get food, she can have it when she wants it. I get her weight on a postal scale every Sunday morning and she has been stable for a month now. Her mood and socializing are improved also. It would be wonderful if she has another year or even more of healthy happy life.

Great meme, prolly coming in too late for hardly anyone to see it.
