If I vote for Republicans, do I have to remain in the closet for more penance or can I come out now?

Morning gang. 47 degrees out here this morning, and I think it’s not even supposed to get to a hunnert today. Busy day on tap. I’ve got to come out of my old prospector mode and get a shower and shave to go vote. It’s my understanding that if I get run over by a beer truck after voting, my vote will still count, so that’s a good reason to vote early. Then there are the hearings for the SCOTUS nominee which may or may not be a circus. I suspect that the hearings will go along swimmingly for a while, and at the last minute some Dem will drop a huge stinker toward the end – that seems to be the protocol developed in the Kavanaugh hearings which set the template.

Then I’ve got the water leak to deal with. The city will most likely come out and repair their meter side where the leak is and will tear up my custom connections while they are at it. We’ll have to wait and see on that.

Need some salad tomatoes for the diet. Still holding tough on it, but I messed up a little yesterday. I went all morning without eating, and then when I did eat early afternoon, I ate a little too much which made me physically uncomfortable. I think my stomach is shrinking, and the portion size that I’ve been accustomed to are too large. That just demonstrates why it is important that I not allow myself to get too hungry, and that I need to eat at fairly regular intervals.

OK, let’s get cracking. Daylight will be here before we know it, and we don’t want to waste and of it. You all have a great one, and more later.

PS – #2 – I’m afraid that you are consigned to purgatory for the remainder of the election period, and possibly thereafter depending on the number of court cases filed. Sorry, but if you want to win, you have to suffer the pain. Unless you are properly armed, then you can come out whenever you want to.

Did any of y’all watch the Clown Show yesterday? I saw and heard small portions of it and every Republican congratulated Amy Coney Barrett and discussed matters pertaining to the law and courts. Then every single Democrat went off into left field discussing Obama Care and Murdering babies which has nothing to do with the appointment of Amy Barrett to the Supreme Court. What a bunch of pathetic fools, trying to make points to the far left-wing whack jobs in their party. Pitiful, jus Pitiful.

Oh and if you missed Tedtam’s #38 form yesterday, you should go back and read it.

This is, after all, all about abortion. Nowhere was there any remorse for her crimes against God. Nowhere. There was not in life and now, in death, a breath of repentance for the millions of young lives she crushed and snuffed out beneath her murderous ideology and the ideology of those who celebrated her.

Masks are useless in combating the Wuhan Lung Rot.

HEADLINE: CDC Study Finds Overwhelming Majority Of People Getting Coronavirus Wore Masks
A Centers for Disease Control report released in September shows that masks and face coverings are not effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19, even for those people who consistently wear them.

A study conducted in the United States in July found that when they compared 154 “case-patients,” who tested positive for COVID-19, to a control group of 160 participants from the same health care facility who were symptomatic but tested negative, over 70 percent of the case-patients were contaminated with the virus and fell ill despite “always” wearing a mask.

Wearing a mask to combat the WLR is like carrying water in a sieve.

It’s been raining for 37 straight hours.  It has varied between drizzle and torrential, but the water hadn’t stopped falling out of the sky the entire time.  My new rain gauge showed up right before it started and I didn’t have time to put it up.

RE: #11: Masks may actually make the problem worse and have the potential to further spread the WLR. Not to mention that masks wind up being breeding grounds for other pathogens that are then concentrated right in front of your nose and mouth. . .. . what could possibly go wrong?

  13. El Gordo Avatar

OK, I’m rolling this morning. The city sent someone out to repair the connections and fittings on the water meter and stopped the leak, so that’s done. Then I found the voting place on the second floor of the newly renovated courthouse. I had to stand outside until 1 person in front of me got checked in. I signed the sheet at number 12, got my paper ballot, sat down and marked the little ovals for each candidate I approved of, and one I did not approve of (Cornholio) and dropped it in the box on the way out. Then stopped by the grocery store for tomatoes and some on sale Owens sausage. Back home right at 9AM, so quite an outing.

I’m loving the typical Dem questioning of ACB. They continuously ask questions which they know she is unable to answer, then pontificate about her unwillingness to be open and candid with them. Then they say they are not able to support her nomination because she won’t answer their questions. Another Dem trick that is 50 years old and worn out by now. The Dems are truly despicable.

    How elections are stolen.

Zuckerberg gave the Democrat-dominated county a $15 million election administration grant via left-leaning nonprofit Center for Tech and Civic Life.

On Tuesday, the Dallas County Commissioners Court agreed to accept a $15 million grant from the Center for Tech and Civic Life, a left-leaning nonprofit that is redistributing $250 million from social media mogul Zuckerberg and his wife to local election administrators. The couple committed another $50 million to the Center for Election Innovation and Research.

The Chicago-based organization is run by Obama Foundation Fellow Tiana Epps-Johnson. She and CTCL’s two other co-founders worked together at the New Organizing Institute, which was once a training ground for Democrat organizers and digital campaigners. Dallas County’s controversial Elections Administrator Toni Pippins-Poole is a member of CTCL’s advisory committee.

I listened to some of the ACB hearings this morning. The troglodyte Leahy did his best to grandstand and his line of questioning was comical at best and had nothing to do with the process at hand.

Next up was Durbin. He actually seemed a little more even keeled but that fell apart at the end as he tacked hard to the port (left) side. He tried to conflate the restoration of 2nd Amendment rights to a convicted felon (non-violent mail fraud) to a hardened felon’s inability to vote. I may have said a 4 letter word out loud at that one.

Mike Lee was cordial and ended the hour on a bright note. They will resume at 11:45 am CDT and plan to go until 8pm CDT tonight with another break for dinner. So you have time to watch/listen today.

Overall I will say this is what a confirmation hearing should be like. This is not the circus Kavenaugh went through. Maybe the Dems realize they were seen quite negatively after that fiasco and are trying to keep it more professional right before the election.

Hold on – all Hell may break loose: Vatican mints Mother Earth coin

I can see a real schism in the Church. This Pope’s pagan worship of Mother Earth instead of the veneration of our Blessed Mother is appalling and vomit-worthy.

Speaking to Church Militant, English columnist Dcn. Nick Donnelly slammed the Vatican for reiterating its theme of the Amazon fertility goddess Pachamama even after it outraged Catholics at the 2019 Amazon Synod.
“On the first anniversary of the worship of the demonic Pachamama, the Vatican issues a coin explicitly honoring the ‘Mother Earth’ idol!” Donnelly said.

    He elaborated:

This is defiant sacrilege against God. The Bible is clear that the worship of nature embodied in feminine idols is abhorrent to the holiness of God,” he noted, underscoring Sacred Scripture’s categorical repudiation of anthropomorphizing or divinizing of the earth, especially in the context of the Ancient Near Eastern worship of the fertility deity Baal.

This honoring of Pachamama during October — the month Catholics around the world have a special devotion to the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary — is an insult to the Blessed Virgin Mary. Penance, penance, penance!

Faithful Catholics were incandescent after Pope Francis hosted a pagan ceremony Oct. 4, 2019 with Pachamama statuettes in the Vatican Gardens. One of the idols was blessed and laypeople and clergy were photographed bowing to the ground before the idol, which occupied center stage during the conference.

Three days later, Francis prayed in front of Pachamama in St. Peter’s Basilica and processed with it into the synod hall.
    /snip
Pope Francis defended the use of the Pachamama idol in his apostolic exhortation Querida Amazonia, explaining that people should “not be quick to describe as superstition or paganism certain religious practices that arise spontaneously from the life of peoples.”

It is “possible to take up an indigenous symbol in some way without necessarily considering it as idolatry,” Francis asserted, insisting that a “myth charged with spiritual meaning can be used to advantage and not always considered a pagan error.”

I heartily disagree with the Pope. You bow before an image, throw incense at it – the age old practice of cleansing and symbolic of our prayers rising to God – and put it on the altar upon which only the sacrifice of Jesus is to be honored – I call those acts of worship.

Wanna slap him. Over and over. Until he gets some sense in his head.

#24, et al. Let’s not forget that the Kavanaugh hearings were cruising right along and than no one had laid a glove on him right up until the last minute. When it became inevitable that the vote was nearing and that he would sail, that’s when DiFi dropped her deuce right into the middle of the hearing chamber, and of course, it was a mess for a few weeks thereafter with the circus. It cowed Kavanaugh so badly that he has gone into his shell on the court and never emerged yet. They will do the same to this lady. This nicey, nicey ploy is merely to allow her to get comfortable and and lower her guard for when the SHTF. Just wait.

When I entered the Orthodox church, I chose Saint Barlaam of Antioch as my patron saint.

Saint Barlaam was an old man, living in Antioch during the persecution of Diocletian and Maximian. When he confessed Christ before the Governor and refused to sacrifice to the idols, he was tortured for days: his flesh was torn by iron claws and he was stretched on the rack. When these conventional tortures failed, the Governor invented a new torment: Barlaam’s hand was stretched over an altar to the idols, and a burning coal with incense was put in his palm.

The torturers reasoned that when pain forced him to drop the coal, they would be able to say that he had offered sacrifice to the gods. But the holy Barlaam held his hand steady and watched calmly as his hand was burnt up by the coal. At last his hand fell to the ground and the Martyr gave up his soul to God.

The middle school Sarge went to is likely where we will go later this week, either in the middle of the morning or afternoon when attendance ought to be lighter because folks are at work or otherwise occupied.

Reading various real time reports and viewing clips from different websites on the judiciary hearings brings me to this conclusion.  Television, particularly C-Span, and the internet provided the American people in the last two decades with absolutely shocking evidence of how incredibly ignorant and appallingly stupid our political class is, particularly members of both the lower and upper chambers of the US Congress.  The public has not always realized it, but they are getting smarter.

There cannot be any credible retort to the charge the American people are being represented by a herd of idiots and the most culpable criminals in this scandal are members of the mainstream legacy media who themselves suffer from staggering terminal cases of dumbassery.

ACB is one of the most impressive people that I have ever seen up there in front of those baboons. Very professional, never argumentative, taking the time to explain her views and the way courts look at the law, the facts, and relate the two, etc. The Dems old 1950’s playbook of trying to get her to say something she might regret or to open a door that should remain closed is wearing thin. It’s so obvious when the try to play the gotcha game. She sat there for the better part of 11 hours without a note one, no reference materials, and took on those buffoons and their entire collective staff’s best shots, and never blinked – they never got close to landing a blow. So, that proves my point that there are some good women out there to be put into positions of responsibility – she’s most assuredly not an affirmative action hire.

I had to step outside for a minute. I thought there was a racoon going through my trash, but it was merely a Dem operative looking for anything he could find on ACB. You can bet there won’t be an untouched trash can in Chicago, DC, or Notre Dame by morning. But they won’t turn up and dirt on her I think. So then they will just do what the normally do and make something up. I imagine someone will ask her if she was a virgin when she got married or something like that.

OK, you all have a great night. Warm weather has returned up here, and it’s time for another car inspection and registration. Boy, those year long registrations don’t last as long as they used to. That probably means an insurance bill in the mail shortly too. More later.
