Four is alls I see with this crappy screen.
First!
-
I enlarged the photo. I couldn’t see anything in that original size with these eyes.
I hope that was okay with Wagonburner.
-
I only see three.
-
Well, could you have made it smaller? 😉
I see four, but the two in the center could look like one, two heads on top of one another…Oh, and I couldn’t make it larger?
Mornin’ Gang -
I came across a photo of Connie Smith and had forgotten how beautiful she has always been. I looked to see if she is still alive and, lo and behold, Connie is 78. I didn’t realize she has been married to Marty Stuart for 22 years. Connie was 56 and Marty was 39 when they got hitched.
-
I see a fourth one.
-
Original GMC Walker Sign, I love the original logo.
BTW; Facebook is jacking with the Old GMC Trucks page for some reason and they often just don’t show up. I/we have to idea why. -
Rye in whiskey, in what I make, tends to impart a satsuma like flavor and lengthens the profile. I don’t make sour mash, all of mine are sweet mash and very darned tasty.
-
I ran into Matt Bramanti, of LST, over at Linkedin, I’ve not even thought of him in years, not that I really know him well.

Good cold and rainy morning Hamsters. Currently a whole 55 here. The sunny interlude yesterday was so nice while it lasted.
Am avoiding much of the impeachment trial news from rabidly unfriendly or even halfway fair media (when you can find one). The angst and anger of the lefties is truly way overboard the closer this sham trial comes to conclusion. Now they want witnesses!? Umm, they could have managed to produce more witnesses in their sham House hearings, couldn’t they? The only plus to be had is they show the world what pathetic losers they are, while they unwittingly create more Trump voters. Wow, what a game plan.
-
And President Trump shall have long coat tails come November.

I see 4 deer.
I had to embiggen to spot them.

Morning gang. We had a light spring shower come through sometime last night which gave everything a little drink, but all the clouds are gone this morning and it should once again heat up to spring time temperatures. Still awaiting my test results from yesterday’s activities, but they will get posted whenever they are ready I guess. Baylor Scott and White has an on line chart for each patient, and it actually works very well. Most of the ones I’ve used are not very good, but BS&W posts things promptly and completely. So I can review all my test results before I go back to see the doc, whether it’s blood work, imaging, or whatever. Pretty handy, and I can look up all the big doctor words, research the topic, etc. Not that it matters with the Chinese and the Mexicans are teaming up on us with that Corona Beer flu they have invented, but at least I’m staying away from the beer so maybe I can escape it.
In other news, I guess I’ll watch a little more of the President’s defense presentation today. So far most of the presenters have been quite impressive, and once again, Dershowitz performance yesterday would have been a full semester of law school at Harvard, and he allowed the great unwashed masses to see it. Pam Bondi, not so much.
OK, you all have a great day, and more reports as the day develops.

#12 Bones, yes, they ARE this stupid but someone tweeted exactly what I was thinking;
Gun control in the USA was started by the KKK and southern Democrats in the 1870s with the Kruikshank decision that was engineered explicitly to disarm former slaves so Jim Crow would be unopposed.
But they left out the fact that it was the NRA, that came to the aid of the blacks, you’ll never, ever, hear this from the Lamestream Media, and if you tried to explain it to them they’d just blow it off as nonsense and wouldn’t/couldn’t accept the facts. ~SPITS~

Here’s a column written by Luis LaRotta, the Republican candidate for Texas House District 148 on the Northside.

Am I the only one who sees a cat face at about 8 o’clock, peering out from some cross-crossed sticks?

Sorry for the quality of the pic above. I couldn’t upload the full-size one.
There are four, btw.

Here is a column praising congressman Chip Roy, running for reelection to the US House against Wendy Davis in the Hill Country. He’s only been in office a year, but he seems pretty impressive.

Annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd the GREAT One Mark Levin chimes in:
“I don’t need 24 hours; I don’t need three days” to prove President Donald Trump is innocence and should be acquitted in his Senate impeachment trial,
Constitutional Scholar and “Life, Liberty, and Levin” Host Mark Levin said on his Sunday television show.

Shikha Dalmia wrote some fine columns years ago when I first discovered her. I even gave her a profile post on LST. She has always maintained she is a libertarian and is now a senior analyst at the Reason Foundation.
She also has contracted strange ideas about open borders and stage-3 Trump Derangement Syndrome.
There are over 130 comments on her column about the impeachment ranging from criticism to humiliation to outright mockery. Of course, the whole Reason outfit is dragged out for tar and feathers.
This comment was extraordinary and sublime:
Obama was loved by Reason because he was a member of the Ruling Class: Ivy League pedigree, member of the Senate, smooth, articulate, and with well-creased pants.
While Shikha might have tsk-tsked his more gross abuses of power, she never would have suggested impeaching him; he was one of Them.
Despite Reason’s Postrelian blather about the inevitability of their ideas, they are as hidebound and orthodox in their views as the French aristocracy was in 1789. Trump has shown all of the Media to be nothing more than eager courtiers in the Versailles Palace; speaking the Truth of the Powerful to those unwashed masses.

Ok, I concede. When I crop that section and enlarge it, the “cat face” looks less and less like anything except sticks and shadows.

Looks like it’s time to buy a new watch.
My favorite watch (because I like spring bands that I can slip on/off easily) isn’t working, despite a new battery. I have some old watches that I haven’t used in years. Been pulling them out since my fave watch quit working. A very classy watch that’s been sitting forgotten has a new battery, and it also isn’t working. I can’t figure out how to get to the battery on my sports band watch at all. I did get my other spring band watch to work.
I have one more old watch, so I’ll see if I can figger out which battery it takes.

John Bolton was paid $115,000 to participate in two panels sponsored by foundation of Ukrainian steel magnate – The Washington PostThat Ukrainian Steel Magnate is none other than Victor Pinchuk, none other than CGI Global $10-25 million donor.
Perhaps this was why Bolton was fired, taking money from a Ukrainian clinton ally.

This makes the WarStashe latest book seem a bit “suspect.”

I think the Trump peace plan for Israel/Palestine, when formally released and introduced, will blow the impeachment off the pages and screens of the legacy media. The impeachment has flopped and now they need new, raw meat to hate on Trump.

I stayed up very late and watched Roger Federer vs Tennys Sandgren in the quarters of the Australian Open.
All I can say is Sandgren knows all too well how Scott Norwood felt after wide right.
He choked on 7 match points (3 in a row) in the 4th set and Federer was only about 70% health wise.

I am not a Bolton fan, although I was some years ago, but the story about his participating in the panels and being paid for it is at least 18 months old. Both events occurred before he was hired by Trump. The Ukrainian oligarch who funds all these conferences has paid a lot of well-known Americans to be involved. It’s not quite as sinister as it sounds.
Bolton’s first appearance at a Pinchuk-backed gathering came last fall, when he participated in a discussion panel in Kiev with former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, R, former Defense Secretary Robert Gates and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman.
Pinchuk is a shady player in Ukrainian politics, but he’s always tried to pull his country into closer ties with America and the EU.

This is incredible. It is cold, in the 30s here, and these people, thousands, lined up down in Wildwood, New Jersey last night for a Trump rally scheduled for tonight !
Scroll down on this Twitter account and watch the video. The crowd right now is just enormous.
They have over 100,000 requests for tickets to a venue that only holds 7,200.
-
#49 Squawkster, That is BAAD, on soo many levels, BUTT Davey likes it!…..
Stretch Box,….Shorty?!?!?
BAWHAHAHA!

These people either spent the night on the asphalt or arrived before dawn this morning in Wildwood, New Jersey for the Trump rally tonight.

Oh and my #39
HamousSquawk That was the one she autographed for me, were’d ya’ find it?Not sure how I got that crossed up, well, off to pull up some turnips for the hens, hey, they’re worth it, they’re paying off. For breakfast, I had a big old greasy, egg sammach, made with a couple of fresh farm eggs. I love the way, that you can crack two of them in the skillet and they just sit there, don’t run together, unlike store bought eggs, the white stands tall and don’t run all over the place, also the yolks are huge and deep orange.
Did I mention that you can taste the difference? Full and rich. -
#62 Texpat, I heard that of Rush today, some say NOO JORSEY is in play,..what say you?

They have over 100,000 requests for tickets to a venue that only holds 7,200.
DAYAAM!! OK, that’s it I’m outta’ here!

I saw 4 deer also. There are two deer, one behind the other that sorta look like a two-headed deer. That would be novel. Do not see a cat but do see what looks like some grayish dried leaves at the crossed stick site.
Sun’s appeared again after light rain earlier this afternoon that amounted to 6/10ths. We don’t need any more for a while. That which should be green is green. The rye seed spouse planted in some shady areas of the yards has germinated and is very green compared to the rest of the lawn. It also required mowing the lawn.
-
The New Jersey pics for the President Trump rally tonight are wonderfully amazing. Good folks who care a lot about their country to come out in the cold and wait to get into the facility if they got there early enough or if not, wait outside to hear him. Noticed a long line of porta potties over to one side in a pic, so the organizers of this shindig seem to be well prepared. Bless everyone who comes to the party. Maybe NJ will be more purple than blue this year.
-
Sd, I’m as jealous of your fresh laid hen eggs as you are of my tamales.
-
Ditto.

In case you didn’t see the President’s closing argument today, it is awesome. And it’s only 3.5 minutes long. An absolute masterpiece. https://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2020/01/dems-then-now.php
Oh, don’t forget. Trump rally at 6PM. Be there or be square.
-
Sd, I’m as jealous of your fresh laid hen eggs as you are of my tamales.
Well, you must LOVE fresh eggs, because I do miss real tamales. The other day I was at the best of our three, Tex Mex places, the one where, English is almost a second language and I asked my waiter if any of the staff made and sold real tamales, on the side. He said that he only knew of one lady that made real ones, but she shorted the meat, all Masa, not any good. He also, said that his mom back in Mexico, made the best ones, he’d had, so I asked him if she made menudo and barbacoa and he said that she didn’t do barbacoa but made the best menudo in the whole country. She cooked it all day in a big pot big enough to feed the whole family….slobbering on the keyboard,….. 😉
-
My #72, the waiter also said that where he came from tamales were usually pork sometimes chicken, never beef. But of course, they probably couldn’t afford beef.
-
I thought about doing a brisket the other day, but as I perused the meat section, those darn things were $40.00. They used to be 59 cents a pound, but I guess the real BBQ folks figured out how to make them edible. Tamales and cajun food are somewhat similar – take the worst cut of meat (or dead animal) you can find and spice it up enough to make it edible. I even ran out of recipies for Christmas coon last year. Possum is going to have to wait a little longer though – no possum for me.

I got redistricted out of SheJack’s district a number of years ago. But, he’s a Democrat, so it comes down to which strain of herpes do you want. The only difference is the size of the chancres. I’m now represented by the butch lesbian china doll (and House impeachment Manager) in the 29th district.

I don’t watch a ton of network TV, but “The Good Doctor” is one of my favorite shows. It features a high functioning autistic surgeon trying to fit into “regular” life. Imagine “House” but with more innocence and confusion.
He’s recently fallen in love. I’m watching last Monday night’s show on replay, and he and his gf have had sex for the first time. Watching this guy try to figure out the why’s and wherefore’s of “good sex” has me LOL’ing every few minutes:
Talking to his colleagues (who are used to him discussing rather awkward social situations):
“I want to give Carly a parade”
“Find out what she likes.”
“I’ll need to make an extensive list of questions.”Him congratulating himself on giving her a “parade”:
“You made a lot of noise last night. One really big noise.”
“You had your elbow on my ear.”So funny.

I’ve never heard of beef tamales.
The fru-fru chefs are putting anything and everything in them. Fruit, fish, you name it.
Perhaps in big-time cattle countries in South America they’ve always had beef tamales and I just wasn’t aware of it.

Lemu and I are part of a larger, loose association of like-minded individuals. Neither one of us is the other’s handler, despite what this so-called whistleblower thinks he knows. We are an anarcho-syndicalist commune. We take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week.

Liberty Mutual commercials don’t bother me. The rest I agree with. Chevy’s are the worst for me. And Peleton has replaced Crossfit as the cult of choice for hipsters.

I keep forgetting that tv shows have commercials. I don’t have any connection other than Roku, and I watch mostly You Tube stuff or other videos, and sometimes they put a commercial at the front, but you can usually skip it after a few seconds. When I go visit BFF I’m just amazed at all the new stuff I see advertised out there – mainly prescription drugs, medical equipment, personal injury attorneys – and none of them are any good. Mike Bloomberg has been popping up on my Roku shows, but as I said, I can skip them anyway. My scientific self-survey tells me that TV commercials are designed to suit their intended audience, that is they are targeted to the people they think are watching at some time of the day or some specific show. I assume that is why most of them have a lot of knee grows in them, since that must be their target audience.

I’ve never heard of beef tamales.
Hmm.
The second best tamales I ever had were made with ground up beef barbacoa down in Laredo. I bought them every time I went down there.
The third best tamales I ever had were from the ladies who used to come by my office on 34th Street every week. They offered pork, chicken or beef. I always bought the beef and I brought some to you and Fay, maybe more than once.
The very best tamales and tacos I ever ate were in Mexico, near Pachuca, about an hour NE of Mexico City. I made several sales trips up there to try and gen up business with the electrical utility plant, CFE, that was out in the middle of nowhere. The only place to eat was about a mile from the plant at the intersection of two small highways.
There were four brothers who ran a ranch with some good looking cattle and they also raised some hogs somewhere nearby. They had about an acre next to the four corners covered in gravel and some huge tents set up with refrigeration and lighting. Six days a week, the brothers slaughtered beef and hogs. They had a pretty sophisticated setup for carving up and grilling the meats. It was very organized and very clean.
One station for beef and one for pork. The wives and daughters ran the large stone grinding mill to make fresh corn meal while the daughters rolled out and cooked tortillas. Some other women were working on the tamale tables. All this is going on right in front of the customers who are drooling. They probably fed 600-800 people just for lunch. It was a huge crowd because there was a Pemex refinery and CFE generating plant within a mile and nothing else in sight.
This was back in the late 80s/early 90s. Two big beef tacos for 75 cents. Two big beef tamales for a dollar. My fantasy was to convince the whole family to move to Texas and start a chain of restaurants with them.
-
The one on Navigation is awesome. Get the machine tamales, the hand made ones have too much masa.
-
And you don’t know good if you never had a cabrito tamale down on the border.
-

-
96, Worked up and down what was the Military Highway between Brownsville and Hidalgo in the mid 90’s.There were a lot of local joints to stop for lunch. Watched the cabrito turning on the spit but never tried it. Or the barbacoa, too greasy looking. But hopping across the border at Los Flores or Brownsville for shopping was fun.
-
Sometimes when you get a little too far south of Corpus Christi or San Antonio the contents of some of those tamales might become suspect. Not too many stray dog and cats down that way, and armadillo disappear off the highway pretty quickly. You just never know for sure. But a few of those Mexican cervesas, and you really don’t care.
-
LOL. Chuckie Schooner gave his new BFF Lev Parnas tickets to tomorrow’s impeachment trial.

On the subject of tamales, this place was featured on the Texas Bucket list. We drove by and the line was standing far out of the door.
