Worth a weekend road trip, Aransas National Wildlife Refuge is where I captured these turkey buzzards doing what turkey buzzards do. There are plenty of walking trails and about a 3 mile loop driving trail. the highlight for me was the 40ft observation tower where I caught the birds in flight. There is a fee to enter. As always:

well, the slow soaking rain stopped about 11. It rained from about 6 until 11 and it never got hard enough to hear it on the Tin Roof, an inch total. This is the kind of rain we really need to help catch up. it is supposed to rain hard tonight after clearing up in the middle of the day.
