This is a massive feat of engineering. This is a really cool video of Shell decommissioning its Bravo platform in the North Sea. They lift the entire thing off it supports and ship it back to land in order to recycle up to 98% of the materials.

And today is Handsome Son’s birthday. Twenty-nine years ago I evicted him from his comfortable surroundings, even though it was obvious he didn’t wanna go.
