A Hamous Post, very good.
Mornin’ Gang -
Yesterday, I forgot to mention Jalen Hurts’ performance on Sunday, my boy is a fan and texted me Sunday night, play-by-play of the game. Jalen, sat on the bench all last year and stepped in the game, in the fourth quarter, to win the S.E.C. for Alabama against Georgia. He stayed with Alabama all year and left after the season to go to Oklahoma, and did good; “Hurts totals 6 TDs in record-setting Sooners debut.”
Nick Sabin approves; Nick Saban, Alabama players ‘happy’ for Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts after his 508-yard night.I’m happy for him. He did a great job both passing and running,” Alabama receiver Jerry Jeudy said of Hurts’ performance. “Six touchdowns, that’s unbelievable. But that’s what Jalen do, so I’m very happy for him.”
Hurts, 26-2 in two seasons as the Crimson Tide’s starting quarterback before being supplanted by then-sophomore Tua Tagovailoa prior to last season, joined the Sooners as a graduate transfer in January, and was awarded the starting job in August.

No air brakes, no air ride, no a/c, no doors, no pneumatic tires, cast iron rims, who wouldn’t love to drive this beast?

This local story has gone national on the Daily Wire.
The couple was married in August 2017 and divorced two months later, in October. The final divorce settlement, according to KTRK, required Athans to pay his ex $3,000 a month in spousal support. He told the outlet that “the appeals process would take up to two years, which is going to be $70 to $80,000.”
Meanwhile, his ex has been criminally charged with bigamy and appears to have been married to at least one other man while she was married to Athans. KTRK reported that court records show Parchem has been married three times before she was married to Athans, but only divorced once.
Athans has filed a motion to get a judge to throw out the divorce settlement. His ex, naturally, has countered by asking the judge to continue to enforce the settlement.
Just incredible.

Well, this is typical.

Morning gang. Don’t look now but Dorian’s little sister is spinning up in the Caribbean and planning to sneak up into Texas before long – well they said northern Mexico, but it’s the same thing. I’m guessing that when Dorian finally leaves the Bahamas there won’t be any more Bahamas. That’s going to be real bad and very sad. OK, you all have a great day.
-
It looks like Dorian is becoming a bit more disorganized, particularly the eyewall. I could be wrong, BUT, the longer it is stationary or nearly so, the more heat energy it sucks out of the immediate environment and the faster it spins itself out. Not out of danger yet by any stretch and Bahamas got slammed and smashed. The real damage to the US mainland may be avoided.

I heard on the radidio on the way home from hugging grandbabies that since Dorian was moving so slowly, it may be taking the heat out of the water and causing an upwelling of cooler water as well. Kind of like choking on a piece of shrimp – once the warm upflow is blocked, the ability of the hurricane to “breathe” is compromised.

BTW – Y’all left the Dome in a right mess. This is why I can’t have nice things.
At least the cops weren’t involved.

And today is Handsome Son’s birthday.
Twenty-nine years ago I evicted him from his comfortable surroundings, even though it was obvious he didn’t wanna go. Appropriately, he was born on Labor Day, after 25 1/2 hours of labor.
PS: My regular doctor was, once again, out of town when I went into labor. Unlike Lovely Daughter’s delivery, he never made it back in time for the actual delivery. He had gone hunting with a friend, said friend suffering a heart attack during their trip and the doc just couldn’t leave him. So there I am, the day after delivery, sitting in my bed watching him flip through the inches-thick fetal monitor charts. “What does all that tell you?” I asked him. He replied, “It tells me you were here a long time.” That still cracks me up.

The philopino©️ (fill-oh-pine-oh) spaghetti model predicted it would miss Florida on Aug.29.

I just opened my wallet and found confetti from the Candytopia exhibit there. It was from the confettie-farting candy pigs there.
Nothing like extending the love by finding good memories tucked in among my credit cards. 😀

Uh oh, I got up late and then forgot to say Hi, Couchers!

Just received this update on my grand-nephew. I hadn’t heard about him in a while:
Update on Trey.
This past Friday the 30th, we received word that Trey, at home, had suffered a grand mal seizure and by ambulance taken to Texas Children’s Hospital. He was unconscious for 20 minutes but they were able to stop the seizure. They thought at first it might have been a rare bad reaction to a drug he just started that evening to help increase his appetite. But an MRI proved different showing he had several cancer lesions on/in his brain and the doctors are pretty certain all in his spine. The chemo at some point had stopped working and there is nothing more they can do. They knew this was a possibility With this aggressive cancer. Trey is in hospice care and everyone is now working on getting the right dosage set up/figured out before he can go home which he is so ready to do. The focus will be on pain management for the leg spasms and seizure control. The time frame is a day to day call or perhaps a few months. If they give a better guess, I will pass that on. We got to see him yesterday. His mental attitude is phenomenal, he is not afraid for himself, he knows and believes in his Lord, Jesus Christ. He’s more concerned for the people around him, which was evident in receiving texts from his college buddies and reactions to his family. We have been so blessed to have this young man in our lives. We appreciate and love each one of you for the prayers and kind words. Please keep them heading his way. That he will not suffer with pain through the rest of this journey. I will keep you posted. Love to all.Prayers and best wishes gratefully accepted. This is so sad.

I enjoyed this look-back at the Stuxnet virus, with new-to-me details of how large a group was working on that project.

Prayers for Trey that his days be peaceful with his family and friends close by, and Our Lord at his shoulder all the time.

When we first learned about Trey’s cancer and that he was being treated at Texas Children’s Hospital on the recommendation of his doctor, BCS suggested that they should take him to MDA instead and that TCH was a mistake. It was explained to her that there was a specific doctor at TCH that his physician wanted him to see.
I swear, if any of the Harpies make any comments about the treatment choices of the family in this situation, I’m not responsible for my actions.
-
We need to start GoFundMe account for Tedtam’s bail money.

I first saw this meme on a pic of Ilhan Omar with her American lover (newly divorced.)

It would seem that if BCS and Co. survived after perpetrating their previous atrocities, they might be in good shape on this one.
But on second thought, this one involves a child.
The Domestah might just snap.
I’ll pitch in a hundred, to start.

Watch out for Fernand. He’ll sneak up on you and get you while you’re not paying attention.

Tedtam, prayers for you and your extended family. My aunt has been more fortunate than Trey with her brain cancer. She is in remission after undergoing chemo over the summer. Today they took stem cells from her blood. On Thursday of this week, she should start two more rounds of a very aggressive form of chemo. The oncologist wants her to do this because she has had some various lymphomas before. They really want to get rid of any remaining cancer cells hiding within her body. To say these next rounds of chemo will be deleterious to her body is an understatement. Over the summer she didn’t lose here hair nor did she have bad side effects. These upcoming rounds will be quite the opposite. After the chemo is completed, they will inject her stem cells back into her body to help it heal.
Overall she is still in good spirits.

This is a massive feat of engineering. This is a really cool video of Shell decommissioning its Bravo platform in the North Sea. They lift the entire thing off it supports and ship it back to land in order to recycle up to 98% of the materials.

This has the stamp of the bad Orange Man on it.
The move will create a gap in the nickel market of 100,00 tonnes a year, Colin Hamilton, a managing director of commodities research at BMO Capital Markets, told the FT. “This cuts off one of the major sources of raw material to the Chinese nickel pig iron industry.”
Nickel was trading at $18,623 at the time of writing. Goldman Sachs analysts predict the export ban could drive its price up another 7% to $20,000 a ton by the end of the year, the FT said.
