Some rambling idiot is on Fox News saying he knows all about the deep state trying to rig the 2016 election. I can’t believe they’re giving this insane fool a platform.

I saw that and couldn’t help but wonder if he didn’t really believe all of his Double Naught Spy Spiel, why did he resign from his own company? In any case, he did seem like a certified nut-case and his story, switched lanes and jumped track a couple of times. I guess we’ll see.
Hamuos posted a link to CNBC’s Wall Street show, here is a clip from Martha Mac Callum’s show.

Another over-the-top GMC upgrade and restoration. With a finely finished mahogany bed and upgrades galore, along with a vacation home’s worth of polished custom stainless and chrome, enjoy my photos of Mike’s truck from the ATHS Show in York PA 4 years ago.
In the summer of 2001, Mike Stoneman of Payette Idaho started restoring and upgrading his new GMC fat cab. He put a 60″ Kenworth Flat top sleeper on the chassis with a Peterbilt low air leave suspension rear clip. Powered by a whopping 8V-92 coupled to an RTO 14613 13 speed with overdrive, this will go down the road and up the hill at about any speed desired.

    In case you missed this.

Business Insider’s Hayley Peterson wanted to know how difficult it would be for her to buy a gun at a Walmart in Virginia, after the superstore chain faced pressure from Democrats to stop selling firearms. After making dozens of phone calls, unable to find a Walmart that sold guns, she did find a store, but still left empty-handed, as she explains in her article entitled, “I tried to buy a gun at Walmart twice, and roadblocks left me empty-handed both times.”

Just another reason Adee is glad she lives in Texas.

An Obama-appointed federal judge is forcing Wisconsin taxpayers to provide costly sex reassignment surgery and hormonal procedures for low-income transgender residents who get free medical care from the government. In a recently issued ruling U.S. District Judge William M. Conley writes that Medicaid, the publicly funded insurance that covers 65.7 million poor people, cannot deny the medical treatment needs of those suffering from “gender dysphoria.” Officials estimate it will cost up to $1.2 million annually to provide transgender Medicaid recipients in the Badger State with treatments such as “gender confirmation” surgery, including elective mastectomies, hysterectomies, genital reconstruction and breast augmentation. The intricate operations are typically done by plastic surgeons.

#7 TP: I fail to see how paying for bodily mutilation is considered a “treatment” for gender dysphoria. Wouldn’t that be even more off-the-mark than addressing some moon-bat that thinks xhe is Napoleon as Emperor?
Those with gender dysphoria need extensive psych counseling and possibly medication or even confinement; they do not need surgery to confirm their delusions; this would be abuse of the highest order.

I was researching this Overstock CEO Patrick Byrne last night and discovered his father was the insurance industry legend, John J. Byrne.  He was known as the savior of GEICO back in the 70s.  It was a very big deal at the time.  I wonder what he would think of his whacky son now who is going on TV to tell people he was ordered to have sex with Russian spy, Maria Butina, by FBI scammer Peter Strzok.  Byrne needs to move to Florida.  He would blend right in.

#6 Texpat, that is indeed a great story, but would it have been better if she had went to ANY Gun Show? She would have been treated much nicer, but if her address, or any other fact on the Form 4473, didn’t match up she wouldn’t have been able to purchase the weapon.

And as a point of information, the Latin Rite is not the only tradition within the Catholic Church. Most people think of the RCC (Roman Catholic Church, aka “Latin Rite”) as “The Catholic Church,” as it is the largest by far of all the rites within the Church. The mantle of Catholicism is large, however, and includes 23 eastern rite churches as well.

I can go to a Maronite or Byzantine church as receive Communion there.

HEADLINE: DOJ: 64% of Federal Arrests in 2018 Were of Non-U.S. Citizens
    /snip
Although immigration and immigration-related offenses accounted for the vast majority of non-U.S. citizen arrests, non-citizens were also over-represented among those arrested for non-immigration offenses, according to the report.

I’m sure that PMSLSD and CNNenema is going to be all over this revelation and change their stance on the whole open borders thing, right?

    “Over represented”?

If you do the crime, then the numbers simply “represent” those numbers.

“Over representation” implies the arrests weren’t justified.

Morning, chickadees. A lively bunch ye are, this morning. I am going to lunch with 2 old friends today. Well, one is my age (old): the widow of the founder of Oil Technology Services, a small software and project management company that had a big hand in my career, when Schlumberger bought out the drilling software portion of OTS. And made incredibly generous employment offers to the 3 people who staffed that software department. I actually received credit for the 10 years I had been at OTS, and was vested in the Schlumberger pension plan from Day 1.

The other lunch buddy today was a technical project secretary at OTS, The other part of the company was project management, sold to a similar company almost 20 years ago.  The 3 of us have remained fast friends all these years since OTS was sold and the owner and his wife retired. The secretary found out almost by accident about 6 months ago that she had stage 4 abdominal cancers, and has been in chemo ever since. While the growth of the cancers she already had has been slowed by her treatment, she now has a new tumor that does not respond to the treatment. She had been taken in by her sister who lives in The Woodlands, and we haven’t seen her since her cancers were first found. It will be a sad lunch, but we will be glad to see our friend today.

Indeed, do go see that Byzantine church.  The Byzantine architecture is very ornate, almost sensory overload, as in every inch is decorated.  Byzantine is also used to describe the most intricate and detailed things, quite out of the much plainer ordinary way to create/construct things.  Some folks might characterize it as deliberately confusing. 🙂

News on the radio just now that Madam Justice Ginsburg will be able to resume her duties on SCOTUS after her recent series of treatments for pancreatic cancer. Obviously they were not incapacitating.  Pancreatic cancer is a serious matter but also apparently has several manifestations regarding recovery from the various treatments available.  She is a fortunate survivor.

    Motorcycle Ice Racing in Russia

    Flat out, no brakes!
Ice speedway is the sheer essence of racing: flat out, no brakes. But lots of spikes – 120 on the 23-inch front tyre, and from 160 to 200 at the back, depending on the track. This turns one of the slippiest surfaces into one of the grippiest. The spikes are 28mm long and every one is sharpened by hand, just like in the good old days of crafted cutlery.
Ice speedway is all about intensity. Rounds are extremely short with four-lap races that only last for one minute. Riders go around the oval between 13 and 16 seconds a lap, travelling at speeds above 100km/h in the corners and 140km/h on the short straights. The tracks all look the same and the bikes lean in only one direction – they always go around anti-clockwise – so the tires and nails are prepared accordingly.

I’m always reminded I’m in yankee land when I go down the aisle in the grocery store and see the shelf with Pace Picante Sauce.  There is nothing there but “extra-mild”, period.  There’s a few bottles of habanero sauce over in the Mexican Cuisine section down on the bottom shelf and that is probably the only thing we would consider a little spicy in the whole store.

This is a big deal.  Customs and Homeland Security have been sucking all the data out of people’s phone at ports entry without cause for too damned long.  It’s happened to more than one person I know.

Man is arrested at the border with 30 lbs. of cocaine hidden in a spare tire. But did the feds need to get a warrant before searching his phone “forensically”—that is, using software to download call logs and messages from the phone? The Ninth Circuit says yes; they needed (and lacked) reasonable suspicion that the phone would contain digital contraband. Conviction vacated.

Lunch at Gringo’s Tex-Mex on I-45 was very nice. Our 50-y.o. friend with cancer looked fabulous, not at all like she has been through a grueling 6-month bout of chemotherapy. She even had hair growing back, short and wispy but very reminiscent of a kewpie doll’s hair with a point at the top of the head, very cute with her rosy cheeks. I hope the selfie taken outside the restaurant came out well, but I’m also hoping this won’t be the last time the 3 of us are together.

Oh and I gave my friend whose company I used to work for a ride to her condo in the Montrose.  I’m not sure where her car is — probably she just can’t drive right now, having left arm in a sling to elevate the bandaging over carpal tunnel surgery.  This gave me another chance to see that ramp rising up to I-59 again: the one where I saw a cluster of small tents several weeks ago. There are now more tents, some shopping carts, and a lot of junk. Still astonishing to see homeless campers on the edge of the Museum District.

I didn’t understand yesterday that she wouldn’t be driving herself when I invited her to come to Chez Harp, and then ride with me the 18 miles to the restaurant. So I was surprised to find out she got to my place by uber. No way was I going to let her call uber way up I-45 to get herself back home after the lunch.
