HA! Hey, Y’all made it, thanks, Texpat.

Anybody want to guess about today’s weather forecast out here? Here’s a hint – hot, dry, and another retina burning crystal clear sky. Nary a cloud in sight. Today’s OC picture is a classic. Again, no real news to report. But I’ll bet something happens before the day is done. You all have a great one.

Morning, y’all. I didn’t set my galloping horse alarm clock last night so I could get some extra, peaceful sleep this morning. We take Matsuo to our regular vet at 3:30, a part of the day that I would normally be napping.

Why I hate social media, reason number 4,392…
Elder of Ziyon discovers Jew-hating alt-right 4Chan users creating a fake crowd of Twitter accounts parading as Orthodox and observant Jews in favor of open borders and leftist claptrap to draw more hatred toward Jews.
I originally thought that these fake accounts were made by JVP, because many of them claimed to be JVP members. Israellycool gathered more evidence and posted about it.
But soon a JVP fan (quite rudely) pointed out to me that this was not JVP, but a new coordinated campaign by the alt-Right in the “poi” (Politically Incorrect) 4chan hate site that started last Friday.
Quote from 4chan “poi” discussion board:
“We must create a massive movement of fake Jewish profiles on Facebook, Twitter etc…etc…Since Jews shapeshift into whites anytime they want, we can do the same to them. The reasoning and goals listed below.
>>Jews are a protected class. LARPING (live-action role playing – EoZ) as a Jew has the benefit of being uncensored by big tech. It beats the hell of fashygoyim1488 profiles. Nobody will listen to you, and you will continue to receive bans. You also have the benefit of labeling anyone an anti semite who disagrees with you. Use this to your advantage.
>>As a Jew, normies will listen to you. Especially boomers. You can take the blame for world events. Post redpill facts about your fellow Jews. Slave trade, monetary facts, mass media, porn industry etc…etc…

Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds of Tennessee would have been 100 years old today.
“We are all Jews”
Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds (b. 1919) of Knoxville, Tennessee, served in the US Army during World War II. He participated in the landing of the American forces in Europe and was taken prisoner by the Germans. Together with other American POWs, including Jews, he was taken to Stalag IXA, a camp near Ziegenhain, Germany. In line with their anti-Jewish policy, the Germans singled out Jewish POWs, and many of them on the Eastern Front were sent to extermination camps or killed. In some cases in the west Jewish POWs were also separated from the others. Sometime in January 1945 the Germans announced that all Jewish POWs in Stalag IXA were to report the following morning. Master Sergeant Edmonds, who was in charge of the prisoners, ordered all POWs—Jews and non-Jews alike—to stand together. When the German officer in charge saw that all the camp’s inmates were standing in front of their barracks, he turned to Edmonds and said, “They cannot all be Jews.” To this Edmonds replied, “We are all Jews.”

In 2015, the J-1 program imported 333,000 workers via 13 programs. In 2014, the J-1 program imported 90,000 SWT workers, 23,000 interns, 20,000 camp counselors, 16,000 au pairs, 10,000 trainers, 2,000 doctors, 20,000 university academics, 1,440 teachers, and 9,700 “trainees.”
The J-1 visa is one of the largest visa-worker programs alongside the 1.3 million-plus college-graduate employees in the white-collar H-1B, H4EAD, TN, L-1, and OPT programs, and the 600,000 service and field employees in the J-1, H-2A, and H-2B programs.
The various programs keep a resident population of at least 1.9 million foreign temporary workers in U.S. jobs.
and…
The brands that employed the most J-1 visa holders through the SWT program are large corporations such as McDonald’s, Disney, and Food Lion … at least 33 separate companies hired J-1 SWT workers for positions related to the Holiday Inn brand in 2015 … employers are exempt from paying certain payroll taxes for J-1 SWT workers, including Medicare, Social Security, and federal unemployment taxes. The resulting savings can act as an incentive for employers to hire J-1 SWT workers instead of similarly situated U.S. workers.

[David ] Holmgren owns and operates a
Subway restaurant in Hill City and a Subway, Dairy Queen and the Holy Terror Coffee & Fudge shop in Keystone.Holmgren has only two full-time employees, so he relies extensively on the J-1 non-immigrant Work & Travel program to provide him with employees during the high season. This year, Holmgren is hosting about 35 student workers under the program, and he promotes their presence on video screens in his restaurants that show a photo and give some background on the guest workers. About 265 of the J-1 participants will work in Keystone this summer, he said.
This guy operates four restaurants in total across two towns and he has only TWO?!? full time employees?!??? Really?!?
That must be some of that new math or maybe fuzzy math.

Could be.
Say his two full-Timers are floating managers. Then he has part-time (under 38hrs/wk) assistant managers.
Then he has 35 J-1 Visa slaves on which he doesn’t have to pay healthcare or SS/Medicare/Unemployment. -
Oh, I forgot.
His slave wife handles the books, government relations, and all the other PIA jobs. -
Somebody figure out what the J-1 non-immigrant Work & Travel program is! I would not be surprised if they are young foreigners…

Digging deeper into your link:
Before an individual can apply at a U.S. Embassy or Consulate for a J-1 Visa, you must first apply for and be accepted into an exchange visitor program through a U.S. Department of State-designated sponsoring organization, such as Cultural Vistas.
J-1 Visa Eligibility Requirements
For Interns:Non-U.S. citizen
Minimum 18 years old
Proficiency in English -
Sounds racist to me.

How does this J-1 program benefit the US taxpayer? I’d much rather see apprentice and intern programs for US citizens than for any foreigners.
-
#22 M42: How does the program benefit the taxpayer?!? What possible difference could that make when those politicians can peddle influence and take in untold amounts of graft?
We the sheeple are only there to be shorn and worked, and to keep voting their sorry butts back into office. Our benefit is not a consideration. -
I’d much rather see apprentice and intern programs for US citizens than for any foreigners.

Sadly, this credulity-stretching example of young and spoiled prospective employee mindset is likely not all that far off the mark. Some Hamsters could likely comment on that from knowledge of such incidents.

Fortunately I have met some really talented young engineers we have hired right out of school over the past year. They are nothing like the young woman in Hamous’s link. That video cracks me up every time I watch it.

Well, as usual, ole Dave didn’t get the memo, but apparently it is Monsoon season here now. We got a hard rain about 5 PM on Sunday and wound up with a ¼”, then about 2 PM yesterday it started raining and continued on and off until dark, ½” of rain total. Today, about 1 PM, I was down in the woods and the bottom fell out, I threw everything in the old red mule and headed for the house but it was blowing so bad and getting the chain saws wet, that I just dove into the barn and waited it out. Luckily had my radio and listened to Rush for about 30 minutes, before heading to the house. It’s still sprinkling and we have about ¾” so far.

My #27, my wife usually lets her hens out in the middle of the day and leaves them out until about dark but today she was running errands most of the day, so I let them out around noon, then one of her old gal friends showed up after the rain and took off. So I went down to see about them and all but one was still out. But I showed up with the small orange pot that the wife keeps scraps for the girls in and all I had to do was walk in and here they came. Well, the all came running as soon as they saw the Mule.

#24 Hamous, my son and daughter deal with those folks every day. Daughter doesn’t see as many as the boy does, since she’s mostly hiring real men to work in the oil patch. FWIW: She has hired 40 guys in one week.

It’s DQ taco nite tonight. think I’ll have those again this week. Who knew that you could train chickens.
-
We give these kids in general a hard time but there are a lot of good ones out there.
The most common issue I face in dealing with them is a complete lack of patience. Some work for a couple of months and start whining about not getting a raise and/or promotion. Those ones are almost always the least likely to deserve either.

I’m not a violent man but every time I see Elizabeth Warren talk I just want to pimp-slap her.

My HR career only lasted two days. I kept punching out applicants like that one.

Why do teachers complain about not getting paid enough? The starting salary for FBISD teachers this year has been raised to $56,000. Alief ISD is the highest at $57,000 while HISD trails this Community Impact Newspaper list at $54,369.
If y’all don’t hear from me tomorrow, the teacher’s union thugs got to me.

I’ve seen that too. 28 yr olds want to run a $100 million plus project for their technical discipline. Not gonna happen. They may get the opportunity to run a very small piece of that scope if it can be carved out nicely.

We took Matsuo to our vet today to have his sutures checked and a thing called a drain removed from his tummy. I thought it was 2 drains, but it was the 2 ends sticking out of one thin, flat rubber tube that had been sutured over when the big gash had been sewed together. We never saw any fluid leak out of the drain ends, so he seems to be healing well inside. He goes back in another week to have sutures removed.
He had not lost a single ounce compared to his last regular visit a month ago, so having to eat around his cone has not been an impediment to his appetite.

My my sister only works in admin in a school, not a teacher. We don’t discuss such things, a tight knit single issue gang they is.

#38 Glad to hear Matsuo is healing well. Does this mean he still has 8 lives to spare?

Oh, yes, most definitely. With vigor. There is something about Warren that reminds me of my second wife and her subtly vicious attitude.

Blue Jays play the Dodgers in LA starting right now, so it’s gonna be a late night for me. I’ll check in before final bedtime.

Texmo, I think Matsuo still has all 9 lives left. He didn’t use one up on this mishap. I, on the other hand… Let’s just say my nerves are frayed.
-
I’m sure you would have been just fine without ever seeing your cat sail through a closed window.
Pretty traumatic for all involved. -
Hubs and I have decided we will never tell the tale of Matsuo busting through the window pane, to his adoptive mom Nicole. You may or may not recall my story of how she had to give him up when she became ill and took a train to Iowa to recuperate at her mother’s home. She could not take Matsuo with her on the train, due to 8 hr ride limit for animals — so we were going to have him live with us till she came back to Houston — she estimated 8 months. 11 months later, she came to Houston for some job interviews, and visited Matsuo. None of her interviews panned out. She has never told us what her illness is, we don’t even know if it is physical or psychological, but she seemed fine to us during that trip. After a while, having several prolonged jobless periods in your records is so very difficult to overcome. It’s sad, and we’re sorry for her situation, but I think Matsuo is now simply our cat.

Matsuo is now a winner being your cat.
-
Isn’t Matsuo the original mama cat that you fostered, and that we said at the time was not leaving? Well, she’s one lucky cat I guess.
