1941 GMC CC-101 1/2 ton Campbell Highlander.
Interior Shot. The depot hackney body upfit of the GMC 1/2 ton cowl and chassis with runningboards and rear fenders was performed by Mid-States Body Company of Waterloo NY. They would go bankrupt 15 years after they made this model as the steel body suburban was easy to maintain compared with wood bodies.

We seem to have bottomed out and are holding at 2.8 degrees this morning at 7 AM. Winds are at 18-20 mph for a nice, frigid windchill of 15 below zero. It’s supposed to start heading back up to a balmy high of 15 by 3 PM.

#3 Good Grief! Bundle up, Kinda’ makes our 33 low, 52 high seem reasonable. FWIW; Its 38 right now. You said no snow, but do you have any ice?

From OleTimerLin,
The Mason County War, commonly known as the Hoodoo War, was one of a number of feuds that developed over the stealing and killing of cattle. As early as June 25, 1874, Wilson Hey, presiding justice of Mason County, wrote Governor Richard Coke requesting that troops be stationed in the county to help deal with cattle rustling. Since many of the settlers of the county were Germans, there began to be a perception that they were pitted against the American-born residents, and neither group was able to get protection from the cattle thieves. The trouble began seriously when the sheriff, John Clark, jailed nine men on charges of stealing cattle. Before a trial was held, four of them escaped, but a mob of about forty men took the remaining five from the jail on February 18, 1875, led them to a place near Hick Springs, and hanged them. Daniel W. Roberts of the Texas Rangersqv, a few of his men, and a group of citizens followed the mob but were not in time to save the prisoners. Lige Baccus and his cousin were dead; Tom Turley was hanged but not dead; a man named Johnson escaped; and the fifth, Wiggins, was shot, and died the next day. Though a district court investigated the incident, nothing came of it. On May 13, 1875, Sheriff Clark sent Deputy Sheriff John Worley to Castell to bring Tim Williamson to Mason to make bond on a charge of cattle stealing. Worley and his prisoner were attacked by twelve men with blackened faces. Though Williamson was not armed, he and his horse were killed. No trial was held for this murder, and a real feud ensued. Scott Cooley, a former Ranger, swore revenge for the death of his friend Williamson. He collected the names of the men he thought responsible for Williamson’s death, got together a following of his own-including John and Mose Beard, George Gladden, and John Ringgold-and began a ruthless retaliation that resulted in the killing of at least a dozen men.
Anyone we know? 😉

My day started off right, with a double cutie wake-up call. Then I got to watch the dolls get a check-up with Dr. L’il Darlin’.
I have grave concerns over Rapuzel’s prognosis. I saw where the Dr. said her heart was saying “Help! Help!”

…but do you have any ice?
The 20-30 mph winds yesterday fortunately dried out all the moisture from Friday and Saturday.

Wait, is AOC actually performing a public service by exposing the truth?
In mere minutes, Ocasio-Cortez managed to affirm nearly every negative stereotype about the female sex, from the trope that we’re no good at math to the notion that you shouldn’t trust us with a credit card. If all you saw was her example, you’d think we’re all just emotional dreamers who need to be reined in by reality.

Morning all — I stayed up too late last night. Out on the patio with the tame raccoons, looking up at the little red moon. I didn’t wait until it came out of the shadow and brightened up again.

Buzzfeed is itself the subject of the news for continually blowing itself up as it lurches from one embarrassing public disaster to another. The geniuses at Comcast’s NBCUniversal poured $200 million into Buzzfeed in the summer of 2016 and another $200 million before the year was out.
Approximately one year later, in the fall of 2017, five male Buzzfeed staff members decided to make this video to determine which one had the most testosterone. The whole thing is so bad words just can’t describe it.
You won’t find a modern day Edward R. Murrow, Jimmy Breslin, Ernie Pyle, Theodore White, Tom Wolfe or Nat Hentoff among these effette boys. What you see are the types of people who are writing news and opinion for the Mainstream News Media today.

Made my rounds of the internet this morning, and my only real observation is that the NFL bad ref call is getting more press than how awful a person President Trump is, at least for now. I can’t believe that people who have been watching NFL are surprised by this – they got the teams to the SB that they wanted. East coast versus west coast. Seriously, you think the NFL or the media wanted NOLA versus KC. Most people couldn’t find Kansas on the map, and NOLA is just a bunch of black people. Everybody knows that the enlightened elite all live on the east coast, and those that don’t live on the west coast – presumably to keep the country from tipping over or something. NFL has been determining the outcome of games for a long time now, it’s just the first time they had to make such a blatent non-call in such a highly viewed event. Hey, the gamblers gotta bet on something, and it’s the only game in town. Those little bugs in the ref’s ear are patched in to the mob bosses in Vegas, and they are reminding him of what can happen to his family, as well as his “game bonus,” if he lets the wrong team win. So, he doesn’t let the wrong team win. Simple as that. NFL will come up with some changes, but they will always leave some gaps to slip through in case of an emergency. Its been rigged for a long time, and so long as there are gamblers willing to play, it will continue to be rigged. NFL is a lot like former G-man Comey – trying to be all righteous and above reproach while actually being dirty as they come. Either accept that or quit watching.

I gave LD2 a “make box” (she calls it her “make kit”) for her birthday. Papers of all kinds, special/regular scissors for fancy and regular cutting, yarn, yarn needle, needle threader, plastic canvas, glue sticks…you get the idea.
So far, two necklaces, several crowns, one bracelet, and as of this morning, two cards for Mommy have come out of that make box.
It’s nice to score with a gift. Especially when the thank you comes in snuggles and hugs.

#10 – Nothing that happens is a coincidence. The Buzzfeed stuff is not an embarrassment to NBC. Rather, it is subsidized by NBC so that NBC can say some things that it would like to say but knows is not true. So they use Buzzfeed as their cutout. Even NBC thinks that somewhere down there they have a reputation for truth and fairness to protect, even though that’s been proved false on numerous occasions. Remember the pick-up truck that they claimed had a faulty gas tank – except they shot a rocket into the gas tank to get it to blow up? That’s the real NBC. Today, they would ship a hit job like that over to Buzzfeed, then they would report on Buzzfeed’s findings, and then issue a correction a couple of days later when the Buzzfeed findings were proved to be false. That’s how it works in today’s news environment. Everybody needs a shield or a foil, and for NBC, 200 million here and 200 million there is pretty cheap insurance.
And they are disposable. They can abandon Buzzfeed any time and pick up a new one when they need to. -
Jimmy’s getting senile and trying to out-Carter Carter. I didn’t read the story about his performance of the Anthem. I just read the first line:
Lifelong New Orleans Saints fan Jimmy Buffett…
The New Orleans Saints were born on November 1, 1966.
Jimmy Buffett was born on December 25, 1946.

Good find, but I just discovered our Amazon account has been hijacked AND that Amazon doesn’t really have a fraud/hacked account department AND anybody can call up and pretend to be me because they don’t even ask over the phone for anything but your original email address.
Apparently, from my research in the last 15 minutes, thousands of people everyday are getting their Amazon accounts hacked. This is just unbelievable. The largest retailer in the world is being run as if it were some hip pocket operation out of Jeff Bezos’ garage.

Just found two fraudulent charges less than $100 on the account. Freezing all the cards listed at Amazon now.
-
Good grief. Good luck with that stuff
Texpat. -
Both fraudulent charges were shipped to Seattle. The hacker’s fake email address looks like a Chinese name @163.com which is a Chinese email service.
Will be using an authentication app through the cell phone for two factor security.

#21 – Maybe they got it right.

Well, Saturday I was cleaning out the freezer and found a brisket from last year, so I put it on the grill early Sunday morning. Since this was a spur of the moment thing and my wife wouldn’t be eating I just put together some Charro beans and left over cornbread for supper. Dayaam fine eating I tell you, and we’ll be having leftover brisket all week, as it only weighed 18 lbs.

Sounds like Rush is agreeing with my assessment to some extent anyway. He contends that if the NFL doesn’t fix the problem that the gambling interests will. I just believe the gambling interests are already calling the shots.
-
BTW, who did Fox News apologize to?
-
I believe she is dead.
Deep State made them apologize.
Anyone seen her lately besides Deep Staters?
-
Maybe she’s just relaxing in Houdini’s water tank.
-
Faux news had to apologize for letting the truth slip out of the 24/7/365 Newspeak propaganda machine.

We never made it to 15 today. It’s back down to 10 degrees and the wind is howling at about 25 mph. I’m about tired of this below zero windchill crap.

In laws in Penn.
Very cold there too.
MIL said it was 7 degrees up from 1 degree earlier.

Buncha deadbeats.
I froze the blog.

#10, Not to pick a nit or be a jerk, Ernie Pyle was a few steps above that lot. With all his experience he should have known to keep his head down.

If you have Swann security cameras that work, don’t upgrade. Period. And don’t scan the UID code on the top of the new DVR. Your phone will have more apps than one wanted. What a scam.
-
Well, it’s a slow day, so I suggest that the oogler tell us his story. Well, some of it, anyway.

You must not have been paying attention. He’s already announced his true identity.

Actually his true fake identity 😉

Linda Graham uses a Gillette razor – everywhere. That’s what I hear – no personal knowledge.

My Swann cameras are old, but I replaced my DVR which is supposed to work with the old ones and the newer ones; and the cameras still work just fine. But I think they all have to be the same kind – 960H or 720, not mix and match. My Linux computer system will not connect to the DVR – while the DVR is a Linux machine, the only way it works over internet is with Windows OS, maybe Apple, and Android mobile devices. Don’t know about newer DVR’s and their systems.

#34,
First I showed up here I was working in in the Valley and traveling to and fro from there to Sugar Land until the beguiling brunette moved back here when our son had to enroll in school. On the way from there and back I started driving county roads on the way and searching junkyards for GTO and GM A-body parts. Buick Skylarks would have been a bargain had I thought about them at the time. Same GM A bodies. Anyway, I was tracking GTO/Pontiac parts so the name not currently on this post. I have a 64 and a 69, doesn’t look like my son has an interest so I should sell them. But I will never forget winding that 421 bored up to 428 up to 5.6k and dropping the clutch on that Muncie rock crusher. Pontiacs were not good for high rpms but rivaled big block Chevy’s for torque. Small block Chevy’s were quick off the line but once that big block started walking, they just could not keep up. George Owens Racing Engines in Pearland did the block and heads, to drop a name. He died way too young. Still with the beguiling brunette. I really like brunettes. -
Well, I’ll get to stop at the Snow Flake in Wallis on the morning commute. Like my job.
-
#40, we bought a new one. You scan the code one the top of the new dvr with a smartphone and it sends you to payment plans. This Swanview software will not connect to my network. 4575 model for what it is worth. Somebody cut the cable to the entry way cam but I can fix that, going to an updated system was a bust.

Did he say he is gto-guy with a new name? I thought he was an electrician.
-
And through sheer dumb luck by some Dude who mentions his bad habits I want to follow, I have a serious Carvin late 90’s bass guitar. And an amp or two, one is a Mark Bass. 250W on the front of it and some other numbers. My neighbors will be so happy..,.

I posted that yesterday.Harrumph.

Only an electrician could misspell ‘oogler’. One to many ‘o’s and you get the wrong wire size. Or perceived intent.

i don’t know how I find this but it is worth watching

Back to work?
