BAWHAHAHA!!!!!
I forgot about that one!!……. Benzion?
Mornin’ Gang -
I know that someone posted this over the weekend, but every time I click on the Drudge Report I see Sen. Bob Menendez and some old gal with serious cellulite problems, on the beach, in Puerto Rico, on MY DIME!!!.….Can you say, “unclear on the concept?”
-
I assume that some of y’all know what Benzion is up to these days? I see, Matt, Owen and Jeremy over yonder, oh and ReeC is also on my friends list.

This is somewhat scary; Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has more Twitter power than media, establishment.
#2 and trailing way behind Trump but light years ahead of the rest of the pack. Who’d a thought that the evil, Kamala Harris would be #3 and our beloved Obama #4. -
Dave, you can’t kill this thing @ 6:30 Monday morning,…….Hold Muh Beer!
-
5 Super Dave
Twitter power ? What is that, really ? I’m surprised Twitter has lasted even this long.
-
#7 Texpat, yup, after I posted that, I thought she is #2 in the Blowhard category. #’s 2-7 sure fit into that category.
FWIW; I don’t know how twitter works. -
And frankly, Donald Trump came along and saved Twitter. They were in a serious decline, their stock was tanking and they were lurching from one PR crisis to another before Trump came along. They still have serious problems, but the President took them off the front page.

Flashback; Heavy Damn Television. 😀

GMC Dealership blotter.
In addition to the postcards to customers each year announcing new models, Dealers would also send deck blotters like this one.

Good plain old cold Monday morning Hamsters. Overcast and holding at 37 on the moors of the Brazos at Richmond, and a light north breeze ruffles the flag on the front porch. Winter is back with teeth.
Good to see those inflated rhinos again. What a hoot that was. Hope they are still in storage somewhere. Their work is not finished. 🙂

Texas has the biggest, luckiest stars…
January 8, 2019
The British energy company has discovered 1 billion barrels of crude at an existing oilfield in the Gulf of Mexico. BP also announced two new offshore oil discoveries and a major new investment in a nearby field. BP is the Gulf of Mexico’s biggest producer, and it’s making strides to hold that title. BP now expects its fossil fuel output from the region to reach 400,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day by the middle of the next decade. Today, it produces about 300,000 boepd, up from less than 200,000 boepd about five years ago.”

The U.S. Geological Survey says a deposit in West Texas is the largest continuous oil and gas deposit ever discovered in the United States.
On Tuesday, the USGS announced that an area known as the Wolfcamp shale contains 20 billion barrels of oil and 16 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.**(see footnote)
That is nearly three times more petroleum than the agency found in North Dakota’s Bakken shale in 2013.As NPR’s Jeff Brady reported, the amount of oil in the Wolfcamp shale formation is nearly three times the amount of petroleum products used by the entire country in a year.
September 8, 2016
An oil company might have just made one of the biggest energy discoveries in the past decade, finding a new field in West Texas that contains about three billion (yes, billion) barrels of oil and 75 trillion (yes, trillion) cubic feet of natural gas, according to the Houston Chronicle.
Apparently, Houston-based Apache Corporation hit the jackpot in the western Permian Basin near the Davis Mountains. Apache is calling the new play “Alpine High.”
** This has been upgraded:
The USGS report says a four-year assessment at the the Wolfcamp Shale and overlying Bone Spring Formation in the Delaware Basin portion of Texas and New Mexico’s Permian Basin province revealed underground petroleum reserves that may potentially hold up to 46.3 billion barrels of oil, 281 trillion cubic feet of natural gas and 20 billion barrels of natural gas liquids. This makes it the largest reserves ever assessed in the United States.

The preening lefty jack-holes (BIRM) who simply refuse to recognize reality wind up getting killed. Virtue signalling progtards are a cancer on humanity.
In this sub-seven minute video(LANGUAGE WARNING) we get a few examples of lefty insanity that ended poorly for those who ignored everything except their liberal brainwashing. -
Lincoln lost, Douglas won
The Lincoln-Douglas debates are famous for Lincoln’s eloquence and for the boost they gave him toward national political success. But there is some question as to whether, in modern America, it is Stephen A. Douglas who has prevailed in the shaping of our political philosophy. Michael Sandel, in Democracy’s Discontent (1996), described Douglas as the embodiment of a “procedural republic,” in which moral and religious arguments are excluded from the public square in order to dampen conflict and achieve political peace. The result, Sandel warned, is a political order too morally feeble to recognize evil for what it is, whether internally or as an external threat.

If anything good can be said to have come from the Kavanaugh hearings, it is an angry, indignant Lindsey Graham.
“They should’ve thought of that before they changed the rules,” Graham responded. “They tried to destroy conservative judges. I voted for [Sonia] Sotomayor and [Elena] Kagan, understanding what I was getting, so this decision by Reid and Schumer may come back to haunt them, but I am dead set on making sure it is a conservative nominee. And elections have consequences. The rules of the Senate were changed not by me, by them, and we had to do it on the Supreme Court because they would not give us any votes to nominate anybody. And Kavanaugh was a fine man, they tried to destroy him. All this is going to come back to haunt them one day.”
He added: “We don’t need one Democrat to replace a liberal justice. And the reason that that’s the case is because of what Harry Reid did. What he set in motion.”

Hey, at least it wasn’t an underage Dominican girl this time.

I assume that some of y’all know what Benzion is up to these days?
-
Oh no, not Benzion!
-
Lindsay Graham has also become quite the border hawk as well. I’m kinda liking the little fella these days.
-
#19 –
Oh no, not Benzion!
Wow no kidding!
-
Don’t be fooled by Linda Graham. Now that McCain released his grip, Linda realizes she is free floating and available to the highest bidder. He tries to project him/her self as the great compromiser and problem solver, but every move is a politically motivated and calculated move to improve standing. His presidential run which yielded less that 1% of the voters was a wake up call. Linda is floating toward the power right now, but like any other female, can turn on a dime and float back the other way. Absolutely without principle and available to the highest bidder. He’s taken over as Chair of the Judiciary Committee and fully intends to use that position to garner more name recognition and political stature. Enjoy Linda’a conservative leanings while you can, but don’t ever turn your back on her.
Just heard Trump has rejected Linda’s plan to reopen government and talk about the wall later. Yea, Trump. Nothing to gain by delaying and then having to go through the exercise and hand wringing to shut it back down, etc. Trump says he wants to solve the problem, not kick the can down the road.

etouffee was served with dirty rice. Blasphemy!Shannon
It doesn’t even sound like it could be good.It is quite good and is often offered as an alternative to white rice in many Cajun restaurants. I won’t mention that many of my Cajun friends cook up dirty rice for Étouffée and gumbo. Good stuff
I love the controversy though. Chili with beans rule!! Étouffée and dirty rice good stuff right there I tell you what. VAN ROTH

When I could eat rice, I despised dirty rice.
It tasted like dirt. I guess that’s where the name came from. /taste bud shudder

I had no idea that rail company Team had so many members. All lobbyists, I assume. BTW, I knew Benzion was working for them. -
I’ll never understand the liberals fascination with trains. These guys are claiming to be privately funded – except they will most likely need eminent domain powers to acquire their right of way. I don’t even want to get started on this boondoggle. Cheaper to buy every passenger a plane ticket or hire a private limo rather than build this train. I remember the banking crisis of the 1980’s/1990’s with the bailout, and someone described the banking bailouts as the biggest government give away since the railroads were being built. This is just an effort to return to the good old days of robber barons and railway tycoons (or is it raccoons).
-
Not to mention the company that wants to supply the rail cars. Forever. Charge for maintenance of the track. Have the government provide security because, well, terrorists.
-
I hear on the news that TSA is slowing down airport traffic out at intergalactic. Be nice if Trump started firing no-shows. Leading up to getting rid of TSA all together. These are just Nancy’s troopers in action – typical union thuggery.

Yikes, we have made it to 45 out here on the moors of the Brazos at Richmond, but the slight breeze of early morning has managed to only slightly increase. Sunshine is most welcome and is holding on.
Good for Lindsay Graham’s determination to secure another conservative (ie, follows the Constitution as written) justice on SCOTUS when the opportunity arises.
Madam Justice Ginsberg’s health is certainly of significant concern. She has already endured a lot of illnesses.

I rapidly read through your post such that I misread the very end and thought I read “railway raccoons” instead of tycoons. LOL
Had to double check as that did not seem right.

Is there a map ready to give them? -
LD just shared a video from LD2’s pre-school of her “reading” to her friends.
Cuteness squared. She turns 4 tomorrow. Where does the time go?
-
Chili with beans rule!!
Nuff said! Yeah I know your Cajun affiliations/background go deeper than mine but I worked the oilfield in South Louisiana lots in the 80’s and also my first wife’s dad was full fledge Coonass, her mom made dirty rice for every supper. I ain’t ever seen gumbo or etouffee served with anything but white rice. I love dirty rice (and beans too 😀 ) but the two just don’t go together to me.
-
Georgia has a lot of newspapers online and searchable. While doing genealogical research I’ve found some interesting minutia about my family. For instance, on the Friday before May 6, 1920, my great grandfather Charles and his son Ben (my great uncle) enjoyed a fishing trip on the creek.
I also came across this report from afar in the Bainbridge Post-Searchlight on January 23, 1896:

Welllll we will just have to do something about that.
I think it depends on how much extra work the cook wants to engage in. Norma Lee Watson prolly the most raven haired Cajun lady i have ever known almost never made dirty rice if her recipes did not call for it. Crab gumbo called for white rice while deep fried crab called for dirty rice. I can not remember the twain crossing. I know of several cajun cafe’s/restaurants that offer dirty rice as a side or substitution usually at a premium.

Haha, that’s a pretty fine queer trick!

Because men have been anxiously awaiting the opportunity to get preached at by Gillette.

Here is the link for the hoi polloi without a WSJ subscription.

Gillette can take their “toxic masculinity” nonsense and shove it.
/
Grumble, grumble, virtue-signalling, panty waist, backholes, grumble, grumble, -
I looked out the window towards the East where I can see the Galleria, Uptown, Midtown, Downtown, Chinatown, Med Center, NRG, etc and there is a haze over the city. It is something I typically associate with ground-level ozone and other assorted smog during the hot summer months. I wonder what is causing this haze.
-
So the prodigal RHINO returns! Or did he ever leave?
-
I had my toxic masculinity shaved once.
Cost me twenty bux and I itched for two weeks.
-
Use a safety razor. They practically give the blades away ($12/100 on Amazon).
-
I still have one of them slots in the back of my medicine cabinet where you drop used safety razors.
-
What a radio voice.
-
Heh. That is one annoying trait of Ben’s.
-
I’m still pleased, after a few years, with my Harry’s shave set. Blades cost about $2.00 each and last quite a while – super sharp. So long Gillette. Another once good American company takes the gas.
Current temp out here right now is 39 degrees, so it’s cooler than predicted.
I’m plumb out of cooked pinto beans, home made soup, chili, and cornbread. What shall I ever do for dinner tonight. Looks like it may be spam and scrambled eggs or something like that since I’m not in the mood to get into the freezer or go to the store. Wait, I do have some potatoes – maybe it will be potato soup. Or maybe not if I have to peel them. It’s tough living lazy.
-
Well, I got to play with a scissor lift today, not nearly as much fun as a cherry picker, just too, dang two dimensional. 😀
-
Massive suckage there.
-
One company cashing in on Gillette’s foolishness.
-
Well, it turned out to be potato soup. I found some chunks of ham in the freezer and a bit of cheddar cheese, and via the instant pot, pretty good potato soup happened. Hardest part was peeling the potatoes. And I made enough to last for a while, so slaving over the stove is on hold for a few days now. I knew that you would all be happy to hear that I’m not going to starve out of laziness out here.
-
Gillette has succumbed to the rEgressive mutation.
The Monster is always famished and destroys all in its path and leaves nothing but charred souls and remains in its wake.
-
#58:. That story is almost one year old, I don’t think it has any legs.
-
I guess it had enough legs to kill the blog. Nobody has even criticized the way I make my potato soup without knowing how I did it like they criticized my cornbread even though I did it exactly how I was supposed to. I guess they all ran out to buy a new Gillette razor or eat some dirty rice or something.
-
You lost me at peeling the potatoes. 😀
-
And if it didn’t have any legs, what did you shave?
-
I love potato soup and used to make a great pot of it. I don’t eat it anymore because it’s all carbs.
I quit using Gillette products years ago as soon as Dollar Club and Harry’s went into business. I always thought Gillette’s pricing and marketing was monopolistic and hostile.
I used to make a seriously good dirty rice, but it’s not in my diet anymore as a Jew, unfortunately. If it was, these Yankees wouldn’t know what to do with it. They’re blithering all idiots and have no palate.
I still make kickass cornbread, sometimes with cheese and jalapenos, but none of these Yankees up here know they should eat it. They think it’s hillbilly food or cattle feed. They’re blithering all idiots and have no palate.

Your United States Navy
The probe exposes how personal distrust led the officer of the deck, Lt. j.g. Sarah Coppock, to avoid communicating with the destroyer’s electronic nerve center — the combat information center, or CIC — while the Fitzgerald tried to cross a shipping superhighway.
When Fort walked into the trash-strewn CIC in the wake of the disaster, he was hit with the acrid smell of urine. He saw kettlebells on the floor and bottles filled with pee. Some radar controls didn’t work and he soon discovered crew members who didn’t know how to use them anyway.
Fort found a Voyage Management System that generated more “trouble calls” than any other key piece of electronic navigational equipment. Designed to help watchstanders navigate without paper charts, the VMS station in the skipper’s quarters was broken so sailors cannibalized it for parts to help keep the rickety system working.
-
Kettlebells and bottles of urine. I’m really confused now. What’s going on?
-
Never mind. I don’t think I want to know.

These are our crews in the naval theater around China, our biggest enemy on the high seas ?
This is just incredible and really alarming. Damned frightening if you ask me.
-
I’ll close out the evening with something I came across that is also incredible, really alarming, and damned frightening.
But nowhere near as bad as incompetent US Navy officers.
-
#68 – I seem to remember telling you all that the cause was related to incompetent women in positions of responsibility. ‘Nuff said. At least at one of the funerals they had a woman Admiral handing off the flag to the family of one of the sailors killed. That’s a job that women Admirals can handle, but keep them off the ships and out of the chain of command – let them preside at funerals and weddings and be Santa Claus at Christmas and stuff where they can’t cause death and mayhem.
#72 – That would be something women in the military could do also. Bet those A rabs would go crazy over a bunch of hairly pitted rainbow dyed sailorettes.
