#1 I am not surprised Melania is keeping her dress very conservative. If she were to dress like Michelle, she would get blow back from the press and they would start disparaging her modeling career… again!

I guess ol’ Jim Acosta doesn’t realize the root of his own last name.

    ac·cost
    /əˈkôst,əˈkäst/Submit
    verb
past tense: accosted; past participle: accosted
approach and address (someone) boldly or aggressively.

I wonder how often Sanders or Trump will call on him from now on out. I would actually love to see Acosta make an a$$ of himself again. Then instead of waiting to have his credentials taken at the gate, have the Secret Service take them away on live TV and then escorted out.

Democrats won back the House of Representatives in the 2018 midterm elections thanks to strong gains among the rich. What many pundits have described as a Republican rout in the suburbs is nothing less than the party’s sharp decline among the wealthiest American households.

Imagine all 435 House districts lined up from richest to poorest according to their 2017 median household income (the latest available data from the Census Bureau), Silicon Valley (CA-18) at one end and South Bronx (NY-15) at the other. Before the 2018 midterms, the richest 15 percent of districts was fairly evenly split between Democrats (38) and Republicans (28), but no more. Sixteen of the thirty-seven seats (so far) flipped by the Democrats are in this strata. In the new 116th Congress, these wealthiest sixty-six districts will be represented by fifty-four Democrats and just ten Republicans (with two races yet to be decided). Starting January 3, 2019, twenty (twenty-one if Katie Porter’s lead in CA-45 holds) of the twenty-two richest districts will be represented by Democrats.

Texpat, if you see a young girl on crutches accompanied by a young Hispanic man in NYC say hi. That would be my daughter and her boyfriend.

She slipped on the ice several times in MO last week and twisted/sprained something. Unfortunately for her she is visiting the Big Apple this week to meet her boyfriend’s parents. Unfortunate that she is on crutches… I’m sure she is happy to meet his parents.

#4 TexMo, What really bothers me is that the judge who decided to let the jackass back in the White House had no jurisdiction to do so. The White House has the right to eject anyone from the news conference or have none in the future. I just wish that when he made an ass out of himself, the Secret Service would have thrown him out. The President was full within his rights to eject him for being rude and disrespectful to the young lady and the rest of the reporters. ~SPITS~

This whole legal scam by CNN to get Acosta’s press pass reinstated will blow up in their faces. There have only been traditional norms of behavior and civility in the past at briefings. With a few exceptions, most members of the press were reasonable and behaved like adults. Things could get a little rowdy, but everyone understood that was part of the game.

Now you have a federal judge effectively mandating the White House press office write and publish an entire code of rules and regulations for the behavior of members of the media along with punishments, penalties, lists of infractions, guidelines for due process, avenues for appeal, etc, etc. This episode has handed Sarah Huckabee Sanders and President Trump more power than they ever had.

The other members of the news media will not long forget it was Acosta and CNN that made their lives miserable at the White House as they’re treated like inmates at Juvenile Hall.

Unless they come across the river into Jersey, I won’t see them. NYC has become so miserable to drive in I don’t go as often as I used to.

We went to the Sunday Brunch at the Union League Club Sunday before last for Her Highness’ birthday. Compounding the traffic was the Veterans’ Day parade, which is huge in NYC. Even though it was Sunday, it took us 90 minutes to drive maybe 13 miles.

Good luck to your daughter and beau.

I finished the project Saturday evening. It turned out even nicer than I thought it would. I also replaced all the recessed lighting with LEDs. I was designing everything on the fly because I wasn’t sure what I would find when I started opening the wall and ceiling. There was time to spare when I began, but 5 days of rain and a freak snowstorm screwed everything up.

Hubby and I were planning on spending Sunday with my fave cousin, who lives in Huntington (near Lufkin). This girl was able to make me laugh during the worst of the Harpy crisis, and she gave me an open invitation to visit her and her mom any time. I really, really, really enjoy spending time with them. It was through my aunt’s stories that I learned my mother was a happy party girl early in the marriage. That wasn’t the mother I knew; it made me both happy to know that she once had joie de vivre, and sad that she lost it. I’ve always loved East Texas, and I’ve been promised a pontoon boat ride on Lake Sam Rayburn, as long as I give ’em at least one days’ notice.

It looks like I’ll be making a run to Bryan this weekend to look over a tenant situation. Hubby reminded me last night that….I may want to go from Bryan to Huntington, since I’ll be halfway there already. I’m very excited about that prospect, and I need to notify Fave Cousin that if the offer is still open, I’d love to come and spend the night. That’ll give me more time with them. Maybe even a boat ride.

On Saturday of last week, O’Broin was on a flight from Mumbai to London, drunk on her a$$ and berating the flight crew. She assaulted a flight attendant because they wouldn’t give her anymore wine. And she was arrested on landing in London. These are the haters of the Left.

They are killing their own offspring. Because some “women” don’t have vaginas…

YPSILANTI, MI – Eastern Michigan University’s Women’s Resource Center will no longer host productions of “The Vagina Monologues,” noting that the play’s version of feminism excludes some women.

The WRC announced its decision in an email, which came after the center evaluated responses from a survey. Survey respondents opposing the production consistently indicated they were concerned that the play centers on cisgender women, that the play’s version of feminism excludes some women, including trans women, and that overall, “The Vagina Monologue” lacks diversity and inclusion.

Modifying the script to the play written by Eve Ensler is not an option, due to copyright laws, the WRC stated.

It seems a lot of people think oil and gas come flying out of the ground and magically arrive at homes and gas stations unassisted. It doesn’t help when your prime minister thinks he’s a unicorn.

Oil is worth nothing if you can’t get it to a refinery and consumption point. If the oil has to be transported via train (see Warren Buffet’s portfolio) it costs as much as $20 a barrel versus pipeline fees of well less than $5.

The price of Western Canadian Select closed at $13.46 US a barrel on Thursday. Meanwhile, the American benchmark price, West Texas Intermediate, closed at $56.49 US.

“We need to work very, very quickly to address it,” Notley said. “We’re going to have conversations and discussions with all the players about the most effective way to move forward.”

Notley suggested there would be some answers “within weeks and perhaps sooner.”

#30 I think the markets will correct themselves soon enough. If a refiner can process the heavy stuff, the market is going to dictate that they buy the cheapest supply available, if they can, in order to gain an additional $40 on their crack spread.

Heavy crude refineries in Canada are running at capacity or are down for repairs or maintenance. Huge quantities of oil are stranded in the fields up there because they don’t have a way to get it out of there. Trudeau and the all the Leftists in Canada have blocked new pipeline construction. They need to expand the Trans-Mountain pipeline from 300,000 BPD to 900,000 BPD, but local governments and courts may block it forever.

I don’t know how a market can equalize under those conditions.

Well, I have finished watching Teh Moobie trilogy. Here’s my biased review:

I – Nothing fantastic, but ok.
    II – Pretty good.
III – Not bad enough to be good with the MST3K treatment, just bad enough to be just plain bad. Irredeemably cheesy.
