Yup, it’s Friday!!
Ducky out there.
Mornin’ Gang -
Yanno’ there must be quite a few pictures of Monica Bellucci floating around out there. And to think that I’d not heard of her before she showed up here. I’m guessing she is a model?
-
From yesterday;
Hamous says:
November 8, 2018 at 6:35 pmI just had a frightening realization. What happens if the president and vice president are both removed from office?
Easy, it falls to the speaker of the house, Nancy Pelosi…..Think about that for a while. 🙁

I think she is a dancer that Hammie met in a Waffle House one morning. -
2 Super Dave
Monica Belluci is the probably the most popular and well known actress in Europe since Sophia Loren or Bardot. She has been a model throughout her career and has been the mainstay and face of Dolce & Gabanna for decades (?).
She’s never seemed to care about coming over to Hollywood or competing with all the narcissistic imbeciles there. I don’t blame her.
Bellucci acted in two movies with big exposure in the US, The Passion of the Christ and the James Bond movie, Spectre. There’s rumors she may be back for a second Bond movie. Not bad for a 54 year old.
You may not be familiar with her acting career, but you’ve seen her face in the ubiquitous and unavoidable D&G ads over the years – you just didn’t realize who it was.
-
Texpat, thanks, I like the B&W picture, classy.

I’m fascinated by physics even if I don’t understand much of what I’m reading.
Does the Universe around us have a fundamental structure that can be glimpsed through special numbers?
The brilliant physicist Richard Feynman (1918-1988) famously thought so, saying there is a number that all theoretical physicists of worth should “worry about”. He called it “one of the greatest damn mysteries of physics: a magic number that comes to us with no understanding by man”.
That magic number, called the fine structure constant, is a fundamental constant, with a value which nearly equals 1/137. Or 1/137.03599913, to be precise. It is denoted by the Greek letter alpha – α.
and,
The number preoccupied other great physicists as well, including the Nobel Prize winning Wolfgang Pauli (1900-1958) who was obsessed with it his whole life.
“When I die my first question to the Devil will be: What is the meaning of the fine structure constant?” Pauli joked.

The first news story I read early this morning was about this “Camp Fire” driven by high winds in northern California. At the end of the article, they mentioned the small town of Paradise nearby.
I thought Holy Crap, that’s where Gerard Vanderleun of American Digest lives, down the road from his 104 year old mother. When I checked in, his last post was yesterday morning: “I’m outta here !”
-
A broad injustice of this last election is that the House passed many bills that would have advanced conservative principles, but ended up being strangled in the Senate. After two years, people were frustrated with an unproductive Congress and took it out on Representatives when it was the fault of Senators.
-
8
Last report I saw said virtually the whole city is gone. -
I’ve said this before, but the summary is this – giving up the House for 2 years is a small price to pay to clean out a number of swamp dwellers. Heck, I’d have traded it just to get rid of Paul Ryan. The Dems are actively working to steal the Senate majority, and if history means anything, they will be successful while the Reps sit there on their thumbs and watch. With Mittens heading up the McCain wing of the Senate, and the old dried up prune of Liza Murkowski still there, don’t expect much. As a general rule, a “do nothing” congress is a good congress, so I’m not going to complain too much about the Senate bottling things up.
Have a great day you all.
-
Here is a short story that pegs the creep-o-meter.
I choose to view it as a metaphor for avarice and the sin of coveting that which is not yours. -
Windy and wet good morning Hamsters. Front sure roared through, 55 and pretty much holding, but thus far only 0.18″ in our rain gauge overnight. More rain forecast off and on all day.
Agree with Texpat that the Dems in the House will be so vengeful that they will overstep civilized bounds in pushing their socialist agenda such that many of those who voted for them will recoil and make sure that Donald Trump has long coattails in 2020.
They can’t help themselves. They are masters at quickly alienating people who foolishly voted for them while they suck up to their much smaller base.
The Senate and Donald Trump will have to contain them the best they can with the significant powers they have. However, they will have lots more support than the rogue Dems will before long.
-
I think she is a dancer that Hammie met in a Waffle House one morning.
Yup. We wahooed a couple of steak & eggs breakfasts that morning. Good times.
-
#12 Bonecrusher
Perfectly describes the current Democrat Party orcs.
-
Don’t look now, but the Dems fully intend to steal the Senate seats in Arizona and Florida. And my bet is that they will be successful in that effort. While the entire country watches the theft occur, the black woman in Florida continues to defy all orders and laws and just does as she damn well pleases, adding Dem votes here and there and not telling anyone where they are coming from and not allowing anyone to watch. About as blatant as you can get, and it’s not her first rodeo – yet she continues to hold the position. Amazing that the Reps don’t seem to care enough to take action to put a stop to it, being afraid that the race card will be played I assume. So long as that race card continues to work, it will continue to be played. Time to stop it and move on.
-

Rick Scott could have fired her back in 2016 when she broke the law and that’s precisely why he didn’t.

The D vote machine in
CowardBroward county is beyond the pale corrupt. There is no semblance of anything but rampant cheating, therefore the only reasonable thing to do, until all the miscreants in government responsible are incarcerated, is to disenfranchise the entire county and not count any of the votes. If the count is not accurate, and there is ample evidence of cheating, counting them only disenfranchises the legitimate votes in other parts of the state. THIS CRAPOLA HAS TO STOP NOW! -
Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said the fight to change the Democratic Party will be tougher than the battle against President Trump and the Republicans.
When asked why, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez declined to be more specific, perhaps understanding the need for pragmatism when trying to forge alliances with Democrats. She spoke broadly about “systemic issues that are impacting our democracy overall,” like money in politics, and disparities between the rich and poor.
Money! Get the money out of politics!!!
Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said the transition period will be “very unusual, because I can’t really take a salary. I have three months without a salary before I’m a member of Congress. So, how do I get an apartment? Those little things are very real.”
Gimme some money! I need some money now!!!

And the wind begins to howl

I put this one in too late last night…
https://nypost.com/2018/11/08/flight-attendant-breastfeeds-strangers-baby-on-flight/if human milk is not handled and stored properly, it could, like any type of milk, become contaminated and unsafe to drink,” reads the FDA’s website
This milk was stored properly.

As the nation watches in amazement, an old black woman in Florida, a habitual known election thief, continues stealing an election one vote at a time (actually several thousand votes at a time) and still no one is lifting a finger to do anything about it. We deserve to lose with people who refuse to stand up and do the right thing out of fear of being called names. It appears just like she walked into a convenience store, takes a bag of chips, and walks out and no one is willing to confront her. Blatant and making no effort to conceal what she is doing, knowing that no one will confront her.

On Thursday, [an Obama appointed] federal judge in Montana blocked the Keystone XL oil pipeline and President Trump’s permit for the Canada-to-Texas pipeline, which Trump signed within days of taking office in January 2017.

It was 49 degrees out here this morning, now down to 45. I don’t watch much TV, but politics and baseball are both over, so I’ve go nothing to watch. Someone told me to try “Rake” on Netflix. Typical rogue attorney with financial, marital, fidelity, parental, and other problems; but the setting is in Australia. Now I like the few Aussie that I know, and this guy is likable. The cases are unusual to say the least – the first one involves a suicide and a cannibal. Seems there are no laws in Australia against cannibalism. Take it from there. Lawyers ex-wife is also his shrink, they have a teenage son…It looks like it might be OK just for the convoluted weirdness of the issues that get raised.

Accusing Democrats of conducting a coordinated effort to “steal” elections in a campaign of possibly “rampant fraud,” Republican Senate candidate Rick Scott filed explosive lawsuits late Thursday against the top election officials in two heavily Democratic counties, as they continue to report new votes and three major races in the state appear headed for recounts.
In their lawsuit against Broward County, Scott and the National Republican Senatorial Committeee (NRSC) allege that officials there are hiding critical information about the number of votes cast and counted. And in a parallel suit against Palm Beach County, Scott and the NRSC charge that the election supervisor there illegally used her own judgment to determine voter intent when reviewing damaged or incorrectly filled-out absentee ballots, while refusing to allow impartial witnesses to monitor the process.
“I will not stand idly by while unethical liberals try to steal an election,” Scott, who is currently Florida’s governor, said at a press conference outside the Governor’s Mansion, as he slammed potential “rampant fraud” in the race.
and,
The NRSC specifically allege that Snipes is in violation of the Florida Constitution and the Florida Public Records Act. They demand an emergency hearing, as well as a court order requiring Snipes to turn over information about ballots in Broward County.
Scott’s complaint against Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Susan Bucher, meanwhile, alleges first that officials there illegally refused to allow Republicans, or any witnesses, to monitor the county’s handling of damaged absentee ballots.

Massive voter fraud in Texas for BeeToe.
Will anything be done about it?
Maybe Betttencourt and that hack judge on the 3 Amigos can sort it out.
-
When I rolled into work this morning, it was warm, breezy and raining, now it is COLD and windy. Yup, I’m in Texas.

The lame-duck session is scheduled for December because GOP and Democratic leaders stalled 2019 spending bill for the Department of Homeland Security and the border wall. Without 2019 funding, some subsidiary DHS offices will close in December.
One huge danger ahead, said Jenks, is that retiring House Speaker Paul Ryan will push an amnesty bill to help Wall Street and the cheap-labor lobbyists in Washington. “I fully expect that Paul Ryan will do as much as he possibly can on his way out the door because he is just on the other side” of the public’s preference for a low-immigration, high-wage, economic policy, she said.
Roughly half of the GOP’s 34 legislators who openly backed business-backed amnesty measures in 2017 and 2018 will be gone from Congress in January, according to a survey by Breitbart News. The legislators will be gone because they were defeated by Democrats or because they retired before the election.
-
Roughly half of the GOP’s 34 legislators who openly backed business-backed amnesty measures
To be replaced by double that amount of super-amnesty backing Dems.

And add their tendency to marry first cousins….

Has there ever been a time in history where a rEgressive Demoncat won a close race and then 75000 votes were found 4 days later that gave the election to the GooP?
Maybe the GoopEEs should start printing up ballots for the House races they lost and suddenly discover them all across the country.
-
Maybe we can load unca Shanny’s truck up with enough ballots for Cumbersome and tell him if he promises to be a good boy we’ll sway the election back to him.
We can say we found them in a pasture full of cow dung and mushrooms.

#33 Phil: We best let that dead duck lie.

Still don’t know if this would work in my grass. Some of those pecans are way down there.

So there’s fires in Northern California and Southern as well. I guess they are getting a head start on going to h3ll.

That’s kind of a hurtful name.

I’ve had the wall open in our rear sunroom off the kitchen trying to jackup the cathedral ceiling rafters that were beginning to sag in the middle of the wall above the french doors. I’m replacing the french doors, but had to reinforce the wall and add a 4″ X 10″ X 14′ header beam at the top of the wall as I jacked up the entire 14 foot span of roof 2 inches. With a 24″ thick snowload last winter I couldn’t open the back doors.
It won’t stop raining, damn it and I’m 3 days behind. Her Highness is on the cusp of a nervous breakdown with the Thanksgiving extravaganza approaching.
And then we have painting, lovely painting…
-
#39 TP: I guess you are going to have to break out your huge, gigantic, checkbook and hire some people to help you.

We wahooed a couple of steak & eggs breakfasts that morning.

Well, our master bath remodel from hades just totally took out any motivation for the remaining work needed in our old mobile home and my dream of building a barndominium was never going to happen while I’m still young enough to make use of it so we bought a new home on wheels, closed on it Monday.
About three weeks ago we put ours up for sale – you move it out, and the response ended up in a bidding war. We have until the end of Thanksgiving weekend to be out of it and all cleared around it to move it out. Some great neighbor friends are lending us their travel trailer to live in until the site is prepped, pad installed with concrete runners and new home moved in and set up. So I got to set up the RV electrical, water and undecided how I will handle black water, plus getting out of the house.
So Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Texpat. 😀

No painting though!
-
Rain will be a burden for us as well, somehow, doing this at this time of year was kind of unavoidable.
-
We have sun and mostly blue skies out here.
-
For now.
-
Sun just peaked out in the barrio too.

The KHOU weather guesser said we may have our first freeze on Wednesday.

One of my colleagues in Ft. St. John, British Columbia said it was 7°F there this morning with “ice fog”. WTF is ice fog? Doesn’t sound like anything I want to see.

Why Arizona doesn’t matter that much – because McSally is just McCain in drag to begin with. Yeah, she’s a vet and so on, but politically, which is all that matters now, she’s pretty lame when it comes to conservative values. Another Obama type warrior. I can’t believe that the Arizona citizens keep sending people like the Dem skank to congress, but it would not surprise me. Too close to Calif I guess.

Not what I would expect from Ireland. Niahm Lynn.

I believe ice fog is frozen fog particles not big enough to be sleet. Apparently not commonly seen.
-
Ice fog is exactly what it sounds like: fog made out of ice. Cirrus clouds are ice clouds. An ice cloud at ground level is ice fog.
-
Apparently, the fact-based community is on a hair-trigger alert to protest anything of, about, or otherwise pertaining to anything that involves the Trump administration in any manner.
There has been a rash of protests in support of Müller’s investigation that were precipitated by the resignation or whacking of Sessions. They’re afraid that the interim guy will close down the investigation of unlawful interference in the 2016 election.

Gonna get chilly.

Seems the Dems around and about are concentrating hard on convincing everyone that they won everything everywhere, trying once again to demoralize the opposition. That might work on those who are only dimly aware they are alive. Lord knows there are enough of them.
And Beto is crowned the most influential Dem on the planet, even among voters far and wide who have no clue who he is. Castles in the air….
-
There is frozen rain.
There is sleet.
There is frozen fog.
Frozen fog is like frozen rain with the visibility of heavy fog.
All the fear of total road blindness compounded by dense, frozen tiny pieces of ice
smashing against your windshield like a West Texas sandstorm. -
The Flarada fiasco continues to grow worse rather than better. it’s hard to get much detail, but it appears that the Dem vote counters, who are doing nothing but sitting at empty desks, are defying the court orders to allow whatever the orders are supposed to allow, citing interruption of their counting (which is not being done) as the reason. So, it’s back to court for a contempt plea – but we are dealing with Dems here, and black ones at that, so don’t expect much out of this. Then I see where there are a “ton” of ballots at the Opa-Locka mail facility which haven’t been delivered – where would mail be coming from that is stuck in the post office – the same post office which it seems was evacuated due to a bomb threat earlier this week – how could that possibly be? Someone responsible has got to get in there and take charge of this operation. What a cluster…

I saw a video clip – Trump launches a task force on voter fraud.
’bout damn time.
If we stop voter fraud, the number of Dem wins gets cut in half.
‘cuz there’s still that idiot half of the country.
-
Glenn Beck reads an email about blatant voter fraud – in Iowa.
It seems the poll workers had a separate container of premarked pro-Dem ballots that they’d give to the darker skinned folks, presumably illegals working the Tyson plant that spoke no English. They were told to just push the ballot through the machine.
Because all you need is a drivers license to vote there.

For all you football fans out there, here’s the latest. SS is undefeated this season and is playing DeLeon who is also undefeated in district play although has lost non-district games. DeLeon’s super QB has been out with injury most of the season but returns tonight to face the Armadillos for all the marbles in district play. Winner moves on to the state brackets, etc. Anyway, this is the contest of the season between two well regarded teams for district championship. Halftime score, SS 48 DeLeon 12. Super QB has thrown 4 ints so he must be rusty. I can see the stadium lights from my back window but it’s just too cold for my old bones out there, so I listen on the local radio station. Friday night lights are still a big deal in this part of Texas.
-
#71 – I’ll bet you that a free chicken box lunch doesn’t do very well as an incentive there next to the Tyson plant. Maybe they give them a hot dog or something.
