Mornin’ Gang!
Last night I guessed that the new Buc-ee’s in Baldwin County would be on I 10, near Spanish Fort or Loxley. I hit that one pretty good sine it’s at the Loxley exit, but since they don’t have Post Office, the address is Robertsdale. I guessed that the Mobile one would be on I 65 near Saraland/Satsuma but I missed that one a little, and the new Buc-ee’s will be closer to downtown Mobile on 65 near 98. It’s going in where a Chevron has shut down.
This is encouraging.
Angered by word of the disciplining of two Lacey High School students for a gun-related social media post, 200 parents, community members and other supporters of the Second Amendment on Monday let the Board of Education know they don’t want the district trampling on their rights or meddling in their home lives.
“You guys are reaching into our private life, the private life of our children,” said one parent, Lewis Fiordimondo, who has twins in pre-kindergarten and a daughter at the high school. “It’s not your place. It’s not the school’s place.”Another dad, Frank Horvath, whose son is a senior at Lacey High, put things in blunter terms.
“It’s none of your damn business what our children do outside of school,” Horvath told the seven board members toward the end of a four-hour meeting, most of it occupied by speaker after speaker venting anger and frustration at school officials largely unable to respond due to confidentiality rules.
Oh, and this happened before the board meeting,
This after the language of a district policy in the student handbook was quietly amended last week following a local uproar in the Lacey community and the threat of a lawsuit by the Association of Rifle and Pistol Clubs of New Jersey, whose lawyer, Daniel Schmutter, was at Monday’s board meeting.
In New Jersey no less! Nice.
Libs are always hunting for that line, it’s great they find it every once in a while.
It’s hard for me to believe that photo was taken only 16 years before I was born.
My mother said I barely slept for the first 3 years of my life and ran a continuous very high fever. To give my mother some relief, my paternal grandmother would come up from the Thompson Oil Field, put me in her old prewar sedan and drive around Oak Forest for hours at night. Riding in the car was the only time I went to sleep.
My grandmother had a car like this. It didn’t look anywhere this pretty since it was already 13 years old by the time I was born.
Spring’s allergy season is attacking me with a vengeance this year. 3 day old headache is getting to be a nuisance, and it looks like I’ve got another day to go. Guess that’s what I get for working outside and trying to be healthy. I put up a hummingbird feeder yesterday but haven’t seen any takers so far. I expect they will be along shortly. Ready for a little more rain any time. Night time temps have not quite been warm enough yet for the Bermuda grass to green up, but everything really looks nice and green with the spring weeds. No bluebonnets in bloom yet, but plenty of plants observed growing away. Watch out for snakes. I hear that they are emerging from their dens to go off and do whatever snakes do. Watch your step and have a great day.
Morning, Couch Critters! I plan to get in another day with some useful outdoor cleanup activity involved. This Spring has given us an unusual amount of tree debris. Some days it has been an inch thick around the house, and a lot of it gets tracked inside. Very fortunate that neither of the humans nor any of the cats have any type of hay fever allergies.
In my case, I played outdoors and made mud pies when I was a kid, so think I got my immune system all tuned up by the time we moved from Sweetwater to Midland when I was 12. I don’t remember any native plants other than stunted mesquite trees and tumbleweeds in Midland.
How can you tell it’s an Okie driving down the highway?

It appears Facebook-owned Youtube has banned all firearm related videos.
That includes educational, training and safety videos.
These asshats are evil SOBs.
Not to be picky, but I believe that You Tube is owned by Google, not fakebook. But they are all evil.

You’re right.
They’re all one monolithic autocracy.

Atlas Shrugged was supposed to be a warning, not an instruction manual.
Don’t know whether to rage or laugh at that very true comment.
Putting up a prayer request, folks:
Hubby FINALLY gets his back surgery tomorrow. Honestly, I don’t know how he functions. The pain has been getting worse daily, yet he goes out as best he can to bring home the bacon. There have been days where the pain has been so intense that he can’t work. There have been days where the pain has been so intense that he shouldn’t work, but he does. Last night, he came staggering in the back door and made it as far as our kitchen counter, where he leaned for five full minutes, huffing and puffing from the pain, before he could make his way to his recliner where he collapsed and didn’t move for hours.
He does that because he wants to take care of me. We’ve had these talks.
My hero.
A real man. Not one of these wimpy-a$$ snowflakes that can’t handle life’s bad turns. Seeing what he goes through to respond to his sense of responsibility really makes me think even less (if possible) of those who would take the property or income of another because they’re too dang lazy or too wissing dependent to get a real job.
Anyway, his surgery is tomorrow morning. If you are one of those who are inclined to pray, please do so.
Thanks.
Late good morning Hamsters. Another crisp start to the day at 46, nicely warming up to 71 now. Pollen count is beyond counting it seems, mostly oak pollen lurking.
Prayers for successful surgery tomorrow for Tedtam’s Hubby, and great long-term relief thereafter.
I saw a speck zip up to the hummingbird feeder, so I went over to investigate it further, and there was a tiny hummingbird. So spring is officially here – first hummingbird of the season.
Best of luck on the back surgery. Today’s surgeons are anything but snowflakes – they are miracle workers.
House passes Godzillabus.
Kevin Brady Bunch said on radio a while back that if there’s any military funding in a bill he will vote for it. So if it’s a 5000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Sextillion, ZillionTrillion Godzillabillons of dollars bill, if there’s 2 cents of military funding, he votes for it.
No reason to ever vote GOOPee again is there?
Cause even when you win you lose.
Schumer is out there gloating.
I see a Hellmann’s Mayo, beanie weenie, senate soaked circle jerk in his near future.
Maybe Botox Nan will walk over and give him a reach around to consummate the celebration of the Siamese twin parties.
I’m hoping the greatest conservative in the world will go on a Green Eggs and Ham reading binge in the Senate and shut down Schumer’s premature mayoulation.
Look! Up in the sky!
And if Trump signs it, well then…
As Rush pointed out, Trump going along with this budget fiasco may be the first crack in the Trump voters coalition. The voters are the only thing Trump has going for him, and if he loses them, it’s all over. The Dems, the eReps, and the media all want him gone, yet he has held firm so far, but the dam may be about to break with this deal.
#16 – kneemail is UP!
If I wanted this bovine processed hay I could’ve voted for Jebbie or Cabbage Patch Kasich.
Fund the military and gut the country.
It may make sense to Kevin Brady Bunch of money for being a traitor but not me.
Phil done kilt the blog. . . . . .again.
Yay! My 401k just shrank by 3%!
The financial plan of the Founders was that Congress proposes, the Executive disposes. The Executive is not under any mandate I am aware of to spend all funds that Congress provides…. And President Trump by shrinking parts of the government thus far is saving money rather than spending it.
The average bear (citizen) most likely is not aware of this but ought to be informed by conservatives via every medium of communication possible.

That is a most unwelcome event. Hope it is only temporary and soon reversed upward.
20 years ago I never worried about such blips. Now that I’m getting flyers for cremation arrangements in the mail it is troubling.
I’ve got a burn pile I haven’t lit in a couple of years. I can make a spot for ya, pretty cheap.
Last month, Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court voted 4–3 to remove the power to draw federal district lines from the legislature and keep it for themselves. Having done so, the Democratic majority on the court proceeded to draw a Democrat-friendly map just in time for the 2018 midterm elections.
They thought they had outmaneuvered the legislature, but the justices forgot that legislatures always have the final say about rogue government officials. On Tuesday, Republicans in the Pennsylvania House took the first step in exercising their constitutional power to impeach the justices and remove them from office. It was the right thing to do.
Phil done kilt the blog. . . . . .again.
This blog is never kilt.
Sometimes it takes a rest a la the Dead Parrot, but like Jason in Friday the 13th, it always comes back.
The greatest car chase in history took place in Houston this morning. I watched the whole thing live. Much of the chase took place at 4 miles per hour on the Loop.
I hope someone posts it on YouTube. I would watch it again and again. The best part was when SWAT finally got their guys and their tanks involved and got him surrounded and they made one wrong move and the guy got away again. It was absolutely hilarious.
I like John Bolton except for that stupid Ned Flanders mustache.
that stupid Ned Flanders mustache.
Now wait just a damn minute…
Just to prove we’re not completely out of the woods re: the future generations ready and able to run things, a blithering idiot of a kid brought a gun to Langham Creek HS yesterday and showed it to his friends.
Somebody else witnessed this stunning lack of awareness and common sense and promptly reported it. The moron in question was very quickly apprehended and spirited away.
The place wasn’t even locked down.
That’s alright.
I hate the beard fad myself.

Things were a lot better in my day when kids just showed up at school unarmed but stoned.
There’s an awesome picture of Darth Vader with John Bolton’s moustache.
I couldn’t find it. ☹️
I went to HS in Calistoga California. Kids wouldn’t be merely stoned. They’d be baked. Or hammered.
Especially after lunch.
Same as Shannon I went to skool in Spring Branch ISD, nuff said.
Northbrook HS was still being built, so those of us slated to go there were temporaries at Spring Woods HS in 9th and halfway thru 10th grade. All our classes except gym, woodshop and metalshop were in T-Shacks. At Spring Woods all the jocks harassed and beat up the druggies five on one, after we moved into Nortbrook, even the jocks partook and all were happy.
#35 – Here’s the abbreviated version of you car chase. I’ll admit that it’s a pretty good one, even just the short version. The only thing that seems missing is a dog. If they had a dog to assist in the extraction of the driver it might have gone a lot faster. Dogs seem to be pretty effective in assisting a perp to follow the officers’ instructions.

Yes. I’ve always found it amusing that the jocks and rednecks all eventually came around. 🙂

That reminds me of a report I heard about a police dog being assaulted a day or so ago. Sounds like the dog did engage but i wouldn’t have thought it would have ended well for the perp. Have even the K-9’s gone soft now?

😆
If you fight back against a police dog that is chewing you up does that count as resisting arrest?
Fitty.
EG your name came up so I sent you a friend request over there so if you see some weird name seemingly stalking you it’s only me. 😀
#fitty
The guy got charged, among other things, with one count of Striking a Police Animal. Any police dog worth his salt should be ashamed the perp lived to be charged! 😀
I was unaware of any drugs being consumed at Midland High School in the 60’s. It was considered extreme to be a cigarette smoker.
That bunch over at Spring Woods HS were strange. They did have some good looking wild girls though.
I went to Memorial one year, but couldn’t take it so I transferred to FFA at Spring Branch.
El Gordo
There was indeed a K-9 on the case today. The perp stopped and took a break no less than seven times on the South Loop between S. Post Oak and 288. The K-9 was on the front lines every time. I even watched his handler put a bullet proof vest on him. But alas the perp never got out of the car and continued on down the road, repeatedly. Ultimately at the last, the perp was dragged out of the car by some fearless Jolly Green Giant of a cop and the K-9 wasn’t required. I think that dog was getting pretty tired of all the stops and starts….like everyone else.
The Aggies are getting completely blown out by Michigan. Looks like Texas Tech is the last Texas hope.
It always gives me indigestion having to root for the Red Raiders.
Today’s K-9 looked a lot like the Belgian Malanois on the CBS Seal Team Series.

I watched a Lee Van Cleef spaghetti Western the other night entitled Sabata and was looking for some info on some of his weapons and stumbled across that Spaghetti Western Data Base.
Okay that’s five in a row. Somebody else’s turn.
#59 = I saw that one just a week ISH ago-there were some COOL gadget weapons fosho!
Ok I’ll play. Still 60 minutes before bedtime
In review of your #32 unca Shanny.
It doesn’t matter.
I’m sitting on the sidelines in 2018 cause these guys ain’t worth playing for let alone worth voting for.
I’m taking a knee on the GooPs.
And it just might be permanently.
GooPs are born losers. They’ll never win again.
In this big trade, just like in the past, the GooPs got Herschel Walker and the Demogs built and build a dynasty.
Sarge seems to have posted this over yonder, wonder if he had phil and his cab in mind when he did it?
Today’s bizarre car chase beats OJ’s slow car chase all hollow, only the perp was not a celebrity. Maybe he is now. How easily he kept getting away was amazing, though the TV reporter said several times the police were not sure whether he was armed and did not want to take chances. Seemed to me he was armed with that car.
