Good morning Hamsters. At least it’s only ground mist and not rain at 6 and a nippy 46 so we are thankful. Our rain total for the monsoon days is 3.5″. Everything is soggy, and about the only plants that look happy are the pansies, but they smile anyway. Sunshine is in the forecast for today. Yea.

Yup, and the NYT is giving him his 15 minutes of fame as far as they can stretch it even though he will be replaced because he resigned and his protest amounts to nada in the vote.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of folks.

The Texas chapter of one of the nation’s most powerful unions filed for bankruptcy after losing a multi-million dollar lawsuit for its smear campaign against a Houston janitorial company.
A jury ordered Service Employees International Union Texas, also known as SEIU District Five, to pay Professional Janitorial Service of Houston $7.8 million in September for making false claims about the company during a campaign to rally support from workers and local activists.
    snip
Brent Southwell, the CEO of the janitorial company, said it plans to continue seeking information from the union to ensure that it is not hiding money to dodge the jury award. He said the company could pursue action against the union’s national office, which has more than 1.5 million members, if the Texas branch is not able to pay the judgment.
“The SEIU won’t escape its fate after attacking my company,” Southwell said in a press release. “We will keep this process going for as long as the SEIU wants, first by making them reveal their secrets and then by making the union’s Washington, D.C., office pay for its sins.”
The union’s national office did not return a request for comment about the lawsuit or the resulting bankruptcy.

(Washington DC)—Judicial Watch announced today that it obtained records from the U.S. Secret Service revealing that its travel expenses for the First Family’s 2015 Hawaiian vacation cost taxpayers $1.2 million, which bring the total cost of the vacation trip to at least $4.8 million. This was the Obamas’ eighth Hawaiian family vacation. The trip has become an annual event for the Obamas. To date, Obama’s and his family’s travel expenses total at least $85,029,819.

    This is disgusting.

#6 Sarge: A timely post indeed, thanks. The company where I work is currently looking to replace our janitorial service; any company that B-Slaps the SEIU is good in my book.

Some of you may find this interesting: Electromagnetic readings at the tomb of Christ.
I wish I could remember the name of the book I lost about the Shroud of Turin. I remember it had a yellow cover, but that’s about it. It was a scientist who was studying not only the shroud, but reviewing the previous science released on the Shroud. He made some really compelling arguments, answering one of my questions about the blood drips in the image. Then, near the end, he made an observation that gave me goose bumps.
On the Shroud, the toes are “hanging down,” not more horizontal as if the body were laying on the slab. If they are pointed more down….it’s as if the body was raised up.

Boeing has spent over $4 billion on the new Air Force One. Trump just cancelled the order due to outlandish over runs. Of course, he can’t do that yet, but he can certainly signal his intent.

The Dallas based elector threatening to default on his obligation is an attention hogging EMT in Dallas. He always seems to manage to show up at high profile events and get himself recognized by the press. You all know the type. If he were actually an honorable person, and found himself unable to honor his commitment (made prior to accepting the “honor” of serving as an elector and voting for the nominee of the party, he should simply resign his position and pass the baton to someone else. No, he’s an attention hog and will most likely show up running for some office or another, citing his credentials as a certified “hero” as qualifying. Not an honorable person from the very start who will step on anyone who gets in his way on the ladder to stardom.

He strikes me the same as the guy in the New Testament who blows the trumpet before making his donation, who prays loudly on the street corner, who lengthens his tassles and broadens his tefillin to make himself appear more pious. He has already received his reward in full.

#18: That is a great reason to eliminate the electors of the electoral college, just award the points that each state represents and be done with it. Sadly it seems that we have passed the point to where things like personal honor and genuine integrity had value.

There has been unprecedented bipartisan support for “Mad Dog” Mattis’ nomination, as many lawmakers are fearful of receiving a vigorous ass kicking from the retired Marine general.
“He testified on Capitol Hill once, pushed me on the ground, and then took my lunch money,” said Democratic Rep. Tammy Duckworth of Illinois. “I’m all about him being SecDef if he stops calling me girl’s names.”

Give a box to Chris Suprun.
I read his piece in SDs link.
Guess the last 8 years of the most decisive president in the history of the USA is just fine by him.
Lots of words written to excuse his overall scumbaggery.
Interesting he likes John Kasick, another one who would not honor his pledge.
    Scumbaggery enjoys company.
It’s not about your conscience, sir.
This ain’t the Late Night with Chris Suprun Show.
This is about the voters of Texas and you signed a pledge.
Fulfill your duty to the voters of Texas or have him replaced immediately.

I think this is an excuse to spend other people’s money to cover for the sin of abortion.

Headline: Scientists call on California to provide reparations to forced sterilization victims
ANN ARBOR—California should consider offering reparations to more than 800 survivors of the state’s 20,000 forced sterilizations that took place between 1919 and 1952, say University of Michigan researchers.
Alexandra Minna Stern, U-M professor of American culture and director of the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and colleagues spent several years combing through thousands of records of sterilizations carried out in California psychiatric institutions—which disproportionately affected poor and minority patients in the state.
“Given the advanced age and declining numbers of sterilization survivors, time is of the essence for the state to seriously consider reparations,” said Stern, who also co-directs the Reproductive Justice Faculty Program based at U-M’s Institute for Research on Women and Gender.

from what I have read, 1/3 of those sterilized in the eugenics program took place in California. All a part of the Eugenics program promoted by Wodrow Wilson and Margaret Sanger; may they be slow roasting on a spit in Hell.
