Well, after they are forced out, according to press reports it’s going to take a year to fumigate and make the Oval Office habitable again. No reports yet on how long it will take to rehabilitate the living quarters. No wonder President Trump prefers to stay in New York. Maybe neighborhood prices will rebound though.

If after 4 years, the real estate prices in the Washington DC region haven’t fallen, then the Trump administration will have failed. -

That headline is priceless, not unlike what the Lame Stream Media would really print.

Great good morning Hamsters. Cold front is on the way, and you can feel the change coming this morning. Still and more humid, overcast NW, and not as much wildlife activity as there usually is this time of morning.
Would not put it past the NYT to run a headline like that, and maybe they will as the inauguration gets close. By that time the staff will need bowls full of Valium located on each floor in their building and service dogs (who will also need Valium to cope with the loony humans). -
Using their misogyny against them. Priceless.
I recently read where the all female Kurdish units were singing towards ISIS positions — driving them nuts. Of course that tactic, a psychological operation, made ISIS fighters disclose their fighting positions as they poured in fire to get the Kurdish Valkyries to stop singing. Heck, I think we should blast some Richard Wagner at those chuckleheads! The good thing about the Kurdish women’s tactic is that we get target location — and that is where, if they were employed, attack aviation (helicopters) would inflict massive damage.
-
Well;
Ted Cruz wasn’t talking to Trump about being AG, unless it was to turn down the offer. -
In no way shape or form could 290 be considered wide open anywhere between 610 and Hempstead.

This is a story made for El Gordo.
A “feminist” strategy for clearing the roads of snow in Stockholm ended in failure as the city ground to a halt in recent days.
A new system, suggested by progressive politicians in the Swedish city, tore up tried and tested snow plow routes and diverted them to areas said to be used more by women.
But the inevitable consequence was that other spaces – like main roads – were clogged up for longer, and it became impossible to get around.because…feminism,
The “gender equal” strategy came in last year after politicians in the Swedish Green Party argued that the old way of clearing major roads in central areas favours men, who are more likely to work in the city, and get there by car.
and,
Even liberal publications like Stockholm’s Dagens Nyheter published this mocking listicle of “9 alternatives to feminist snow removal”, including Satanic snow removal (“melt the snow with burning crosses”) and Neoliberal snow removal (“the invisible hand of the market will move it”).
-
Sweden has gender specific roads? That’s pretty weird.
-
12 Hamous
Apparently, because more men drive the main roads to get to work, especially if you are a guy who drives snow removal equipment, clearing those roads instead of sidewalks and bike paths and parks is evidence of the male privileged patriarchy.
Stockholm is currently is in complete snowbound deadlock. -
Or more people drive the main roads and the fact that more of them are men is incidental.

Okay, I have a weird problem and I haven’t been able to resolve it.
I’m using a K350 Logitech keyboard on a Windows 7 op system. When inside of Quickbooks, only my RIGHT ALT key isn’t working like it used to. The left one works just fine; e.g., Left ALT+F takes me to the “file” options in the menu bar. Right Alt+F gives me an ASCII character.
The RALT key is one I used to use all the time. It seems to be functioning properly elsewhere, so it’s only within Quickbooks. This is driving me nuts! As a touch typist, I have muscle memory of performing those functions with my right hand.
I’ve checked the Logitech manual online, hit all my function keys, done an online search to resolve the issue, checked the preferences within QB itself…I can’t find the solution. I did move the keyboard to work downstairs over the weekend, and it’s possible I hit a key that changed the alt key function.
Any ideas? -

Yes. There’s a certain level of devotion Africans and Middle Easterners demonstrate towards God that is highly admirable. I’m convinced that some of the most devout Christians ever (or at least ranked among them) will come from that part of the world before the Second Coming.

Sen. Elizabeth Warren took a shot at Mitt Romney and Donald Trump on Friday ahead of the former Massachusetts governor’s meeting with the president-elect on Saturday.
Bringing up a comment Romney made during the 2012 campaign, when he said he consulted “binders full of women” when looking at resumes to fill his administration, Warren said maybe he could bring that binder along to help Trump fill his cabinet./Oh, the mysteries of life

Looks like the people who slummed up the neighborhood around 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. also junked up the transportation equipment as well. Can’t blame the incoming President for not wanting to go up in AF 1 without having the thing tested with drug sniffing dogs and overhauling the interior as well. If the outgoing family had it their way they would probably put it up on blocks in front of the White House and decorate it for Christmas with empty clorox bottles.

It’s a red letter day all right when we see what may be a small crack developing in Sarge’s anti-Trump armor. So far I’ve been satisfied with his appointments, and it appears to me that he is taking this very seriously. Rather than falling in line with the “diversity” crowd he appears to be reverting back to the old fashioned “most qualified” model (which is fine with me). I sit on pins and needles waiting for him to screw this up, and so far, nada that the press can hang on to; so they just have to continue to make stuff up. Right now they are complaining that he’s not moving fast enough, but as soon as he makes a few announcements, they’ll say he’s moving too fast.

BTW, there are now 3 weather alerts out here in no man’s land for freeze warnings and watches issued by the weather service. Since there are no local TV or terrestrial radio stations, no one has been out there to remind me to wrap my pipes. Maybe they will have a police car drive through town announcing the need for citizens to wrap their pets and bring their pipes indoors before dark. Gotta take care of the public you know.

From your link; The Air Force One Boeing 747-200, which has been used to carry the President of the United States for the last 70 years, is reaching the its life expectancy next year, but the White House is yet to find replacements.
70 years?!?! Is this the Onion?!?!
The current Air Force one was ordered by Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush was the first to use it,…in 1990, I think, 26 years old? -

Well, to quote Hot Air:
For one thing, it could help butter up conservatives who will have reasons to get unhappy when some of Trump’s domestic-policy agenda comes down the pike.
So far, its looking like the idea that the art of politics is getting the wrong people to do the right things is operable.
And if he does appoint Cruz, I will kiss him right on the lips. -
I’ve never understood why everybody assumes Ted Cruz wants to be a Supreme Court Justice. Not every lawyer wants to be a judge and I think those least inclined are litigators. Maybe he does want the job, but I’ve never seen anyone bring up the possibility he may not want it.
-
#44. 47 – Yeah, that 70 years thing threw me – I think the author was trying to say that there has been an AF 1 for 70 years – it was all trains before that.
Dr. Cooley – 65,000 open heart surgeries? If he did 1,000 (roughly 3 every day, including weekends and holidays) for 65 years I guess it’s feasible. More likely 3 or 4 per week or 150-200 per year; for 50 years – that would be 10,000 at the most. I guess math is hard for reporters (and Barbie). -
The headline on the Hot Air piece is:
Cruz: You bet I’m open to a SCOTUS appointment
The article it quotes says this:
Asked Friday at a National Lawyers Convention event whether he’d accept a high court nomination, Cruz responded, “What I will say is that history is long and can take unexpected paths.”
“I think it is absolutely vital that that seat and every other seat that comes vacant on the court be filled principle constitutionalists who will be faithful to the law and will check their own policy preferences at the door,” he added.Back to the Hot Air post, they make this logic:
What better platform to pursue that than as a Supreme Court justice? Our friend and colleague Amanda Carpenter, who worked for Cruz, commented earlier this week that it would be more than a little strange to accept a job from a political opponent from which he could be fired. That would have made the AG slot — or practically any other job — less than attractive to Cruz, who could barely bring himself to acknowledge that he was voting for Trump, let alone liked him enough to work for him.
Of course, that brings us to another question: Why would Trump give Cruz a nomination to anything, let alone the Supreme Court, after their bitter rivalry? For one thing, it could help butter up conservatives who will have reasons to get unhappy when some of Trump’s domestic-policy agenda comes down the pike. Getting Cruz out of the Senate might be an end to itself in that regard, too. I made that argument the morning after the election:Speculation on Cruz’ visit to Trump a couple days ago was that he’d be offered the AG slot, but with Sessions in that spot, that guess is no longer operable.
Cruz faces what could be a substantial challenge in 2016. The Establishment wants him out of the Senate. Cruz still wants to affect policy and return to Constitutional Law.
Cruz on SCOTUS is a win/win/win for Conservatives, the Establishment (who want him out of the Senate), and for him b/c he can affect policy for the next half century without ever having to worry about reelection. -

mh, let’s not forget that the A&M study cited was commissioned by the pro-transit folks to get bond money for the toy trains. I for sure do not see how writing more traffic tickets would improve traffic flow – the idiots are going to be idiots no matter what. Regardless of the number of lanes on the freeway, they will all be taken up. Just like most other matters, people will figure out the best way for them to get to and from work or wherever without the aid of government input. When the freeway gets full, they will move somewhere else. Simple, just give it a good leaving alone.

RE: Cruz and Trump
It’s possible that Trump called Cruz in to discuss a future presidential run. Trump is kinda long in the tooth, and he may not be planning to run for a second term. P’haps they were laying out plans for Cruz to be his successor.

I do admit to driving with my flashers on in a torrential rain sometimes. Somebody around here has repeatedly questioned this practice.
I have done it when I realize I’m having trouble seeing other cars. So it is perfectly logical to assume others may have a problem seeing me in time to avoid hitting me. So, I run my flashers until visibility improves. -
