Aha, at last an equestrian event on the main channel. Golf just finished and I’m watching stadium jumping, horse and rider over manmade jumps in an arena versus cross-country eventing with more natural items to jump over.
My BFF is binge watching the Olympics and eating up all those human interest stories about the hardships that the Olympians had to overcome to get there, etc. NBC apparently only puts that stuff out there to get the womenzs type folks to watch as apparently no one gives a rip about the events themselves, other than the medal counts.… Read more »

I got an email from a former co-worker, 8 years younger than me, who retired after I did and was almost immediately back on contracts. We saw each other on the job (as contractors) maybe once or twice a year after that. Now he’s reporting he expects this year to be the end, unless or until O&G has a major… Read more »

Finally went out to empty the rain gauge from overnight: 1.7″. The lawn will be appreciative. Repeat of earlier in the summer when the grass got high as an elephant’s eye, but I could never mow it because it was always wet.
